Forward to .pdf

Hi, I post this question a while back but no bites, so i'm trying again.
I need to forward my servlet to a pdf but I cant seem to get it to work. Here is the code:
if(servletContext.getRequestDispatcher(template) != null){
  while(!resp.isCommitted())
    servletContext.getRequestDispatcher(template).forward(req, resp);
//template being the path to file
Thanks

My servlet cant seem to find the pdf and so nothing gets opened. Is this a normal procedure for forwarding to a pdf file or is there another method for doing this?

  • When I try to forward a PDF file by using the email button on the toolbar, it won't send.

I cannot always forward a PDF using the email button on the toolbar.  For example, I get a report forwarded to me as a link.  When I open the link, the document opens as a PDF.  I use the email button on the toolbar to forward the document as an attachment.  Outlook pops up as a new message with the attachment.  I finish writing my email and hit the "send" button and I get an error saying the doucment couldn't be sent.  If I close the email and save it as a draft, I can open the draft copy and it will send.  Is there someway to fix this so I can eliminate these extra steps?  This has happened on a computer with Adobe Reader as well as a computer with Adobe Acrobate 9 Standard.

Is that the exact message that Outlooks gives you?
Anyway, why don't you just forward the original link to the document, instead of the PDF itself?

  • Forwarding a PDF from iPhone produces a 0K file

I have an iPhone 4 (iOS 4.2.1) and ran across this problem other the last two weeks. If you attempt to forward a PDF file from email with 'include attachment' to another person, that person will receive the attachment as a 0K pdf file that is corrupted.
I used the iPhone to forward a 785K PDF file to my Gmail and Live account and both received a 0K file. If I sign on to the email account with my laptop and forward the same 785K PDF to Gmail and Live, it arrives as a 785K file.
Is this a known issue with the iOS and is there a known fix? I've seen people post about Stanza or iBooks possibly causing a problem, but I've already explored that route.

After further testing it appears to be an issue between the iPhone and Yahoo, which I'm assuming is going to fall more on the shoulders of Yahoo because it never plays nice with iOS.
When I forward using a Yahoo Mail account on iPhone the result is 0K.
When I forward using a Gmail account on iPhone the result is 785K.
I also tested using a Windows Live account and it worked fine. I guess I need to keep trying to convince my other iPhone user to dump Yahoo.

  • IOS 6.1.3 is dropping Exchange email attachments when forwarding, specifically PDF

We originally noticed this on iPhone 5 but are now seeing it on all 6.1.3 devices as others upgrade. It seems to be aggrevated by traffic load. We are using MobileIron to manage the environment and the Sentry is in the DMZ with an inside and outside facing firewall (Cisco ASA).
Another problem since the 6.1.3 upgrade is when sending a message with an attachment, the system will fail to send the message on first attempt. Moving to the Outbox folder and re-sending the message will successfully (sans the attachment) push to Exchange. This is highly repeatable when forwarding PDF and XLS files. Other types of attachments seem to be much less effected.
We have approximately 750 i Devices currently on the system. Fortunately the large majority doesn't forward attachments on a regular basis.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is there a workaround?

Issue was resolved by re-enrolling the device into the company's exchange environment, which basically re-configured the exchange account. Unfortunately we use Device Management software, that disables the ability to do this manually.

  • Cannot forward iphone pdf

Can you tell me why I am continuously having issues forwarding pdfs from iphone email?  Either files are too large or it continues to say "loading" when trying to forward.
    Have a 3GS.

You can also pick up an unlocked phone or device that will work on Korea's network and put your iPhone sim card in that....
I know for a fact that while you're in Korea you can stop at a local mobile phone shop and buy an unlocked phone, put your at&t sim card in it and it will work. Of course you need to be set up for international service through at&t. They have something called World plan or something for 5.99 a month that drops rates down.

  • How do I create a button in an interactive PDF, which will forward the PDF via email?

    Hi,
So, I have an interactive pdf, with a share button. This button goes to the correct mail program and fills in the subject field.
But I can't find out how you can add the pdf as an attachment in that e-mail.
    Thanks
    Indy

    Hey vanhaelst,
You need to have Adobe Acrobat/Reader to attach PDF as an email attachment.
Select 'Send file as email attachment' icon from the toolbar (as shown below):
    Hope this helps.

  • Is there a way to prevent a PDF file from being forwarded?

is there a way to prevent a PDF file from being forwarded? For example, im a personal trainer and if i send a client a plan via PDF file, i want to make sure that they cannot send it to anyone else. I read about how you can secure a file by creating an ID and then having the recipient create an ID as well, but i would like to make the orocess as easy as possible for my clients and not have to have them create an ID and then send it to me. is there a better way to block the recipient from resending the PDF?

    Hi Kiana,
As such there is no option to prevent the recipients from forwarding the pdf. However you can refer to this blog How do I prevent someone from forwarding a PDF?, it might be of some help.

  • Adding a forwarding link to send a pdf file to another e-mail address

I would like to add a forwarding link to a pdf document that is available for download from my iWeb site. I would like someone to be able to forward the pdf file to another e-mail address. Can I do this in iWeb? If so, how?

Isn't that decision rather made by the person who downloads the pdf.
What if he doesn't forward the pdf and keeps it to himself?

  • Cannot forward PDFs

I use my iPad a lot for work and constantly have people sending me PDFs that I have to convey to others. In the last six weeks I would say that almost half the time I forward a PDF from the iPad to someone I get a response telling me there was no attachment, just a red X or blue box. I try resending it and the same issue. I have to actually wait to get back to my office and send it from my Mac's Mail app before it will work.
The iPad is suppose to be a great email client and a great business tool, but what good is it if I can't even forward an attachment?
Also, there are a lot of times that I receive PDF attachments from people that won't download or are just blue boxes with question marks. Those same email attachments receive perfectly fine on my iPhone and Mac Mail, only the iPad screws them up. Please fix ASAP.

    Please fix ASAP.
You are just talking to other users here. Send fix requests to Apple via the channel they have set up for it:

  • Help needed to view documents send in .pdf portfolio - only gray screen visible

Various clients are complaining that they are unable to view/retrieve documents I have forwarded in .pdf portfolio format. All they see is a blank - grey - screen.   Any help to resolve this would be appreciated.

Make sure they are opening the files in Adobe Reader or Acrobat only, or in Internet Explorer using one of those. Make sure you understand the various ways they might open the file without using Adobe Reader or Acrobat, such as in FireFox, Chrome or Safari, or Preview on a Mac. Make sure they have a sufficiently up to date copy of Reader/Acrobat too.

  • PDF Form Password Permission Question

I'm new to creating PDF forms and have Acrobat 9 Pro. I'm creating a form for a client who is asking if I can put two passwords on the form:
    1. a password that enables my client (Client A) to open the form, enter info in the fields, save as something and forward the PDF on to their client (Client B).
    2. a password that enables Client B to view only
Does anyone know if I can put both types of passwords on the original doc or does Client A have to put Client B's password on it after they modify the doc? Any help is much appreciated.

What application will client A and B be using?
Chances are Client A will have to change the password before sending to Client B. But Client A won't be able to if they are just using the free Reader to fill out the form.

  • All of a sudden Reader says all pdf's rec'd by e-mail are damaged or corrupt. Help available?

I'm using the latest version of Office 365's Outlook on Windows 8.1. I receive many e-mails from different sources containing PDF files. All of a sudden I receive an error message on every PDF. Generally its "There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and can't be repaired." I even forwarded a PDF that I know others have been able to open to my wife's e-mail address and it gave her the same error message. So not only are PDF's I receive not able to be opened but my Reader or something else on my computer seems to be damaging or corrupting them! I thought I had a malware problem so I re-set my Dell laptop back to reinstallation of Windows and re-installed Adobe Reader XI. I have also right-clicked on a PDF file and set Adobe Reader XI as the default program.

    Hi bellingenbob,
Please let me know what version of Adobe Reader you are using.
You might need to choose 'Check for Updates' option under the Help menu to use the latest version of Reader i.e. 11.0.10
Also, tell me whether you are viewing the PDFs through 'Preview' or first download the files and then open with Reader.
Try disabling protected mode from Edit> Preferences> Security (Enhanced) and check.
    Hope to hear from you.

  • Why can I only forward the first page of file?

When I try to forward a PDF file from my Mac it will only send the first page and it is not in file form.

Pretty sure that's it with a Mac. It just shows the cover page (page 1) in the body of the email.
When the receiver gets it, they should see the rest.

  • Goodreader will allow me to send a PDF via email but my notes wont go?

I do apologize as I am very new to this. I did just download goodreader onto my iPad 2. It is very simple to use but I do have an issue. I was forwarding a PDF via email. I attached a note along with it, just above my signature. The email did go to a PC and the attachment was their, but the note and signature was attached as another attachment as a .txt file. The odd thing is, if I copy the email to myself it shows the note and signature? I hope i explained this situation so that it is understandable and thanks for any advise. Really am a big fan of the Apple products, even have a new iPhone 4 being delivered tomorrow.

$50? Excuse me, but this is a disgusting price. The kit should include both the composite and the component for that price, and even then it would be over priced. Are there any third party alternatives? Apple, you should be ashamed of yourselves.
