Four hours on the phone and 1 tech visit and still getting less than 10/2 when I orded 15/5 FIOS

I'm not a happy customer right now.
My building wanted FIOS installed. But, they gave us VDSL. However, customer service reps like to argue with me and tell me I have FIOS, because that's what our accounts say.
Many of us held back on getting FIOS after they heard only VDSL was put in. I'm one of the unlucky ones who got VDSL and it is slower than cable.
I've been spending hours on the phone trying to at least get the VDSL speed upgraded and it's all for nothing. I don't even get the follow-up calls back that I'm promised from the techs (just the automated survey).
I called Thursday because I was getting only .6 on upload. That's ridiculous. I work in A/V and upload city council videos. I need something faster. I wanted to switch to FIOS because even cable was not fast enough.
One person tells me I still only have 10/2 and to order 15/5. I call. They tell me they can't switch me because I already have 15/5. I said the tech told me I had 10/2. The customer service rep says "Oh, over here it says you have 10/2." I have no idea what "Over here means." But, she is still unable to switch me and hands the phone back over to tech, who says he can't help me because he can't upgrade service, so he hands me back to another service rep and I have to explain everything again, and then she sends me to some other person.. to another person..
I am hanging on by a thread as a customer. At this point, I don't care if it's FIOS or VDSL as long as I can upgrade to the speed I want. But, they won't even let me upgrade from 10/2!!!
After escallating my complaint on the phone last night I was told I would have 15/5 by this morning and a follow up call by a human being. Neither have happened.
I can't believe I'm saying this, but cable had better support by people who could actually help me...and more constant data rates on u/l and d/l.
If I can't get 20/20 (what I really want), I'm dropping the whole FIOS package and going back to cable.
(PS - what your web site says is really available at my address is also false.. talk to your techs)

VDSL speeds:
•If MDU/VDSL-1 (Zyxel modem), then 20/5
•If MDU/VDSL-2 (Westell 9100VM), then
·         Current max. FiOS VDSL-2 speeds are the 50/20 tier....
The highest symmetrical VDSL-2 tier is 20/20..
the VDSL 2's are on GPON networks and the VDSL1's are BPON's 
Side note: FiOS's network download capacity consists of 32 users sharing 2400 Mbps for GPON or 622 Mbps for BPON. Cable networks using DOCSIS consist of typically 125 users sharing 160 Mbps
So question to the OP is which of those sounds more like what you have?

    Flip the Ring/Silent switch. Make sure Vibrate when silent is off in Settings>Sound.

    Could be a problem with the 30-pin connector port or the cable. Is there an Apple Store or Apple authorized support center nearby?

  • I have invested over 6 hours on the phone and with my Verizon Authorized Rep. trying to get the Bonus 1 Gig of Data for myself on the More Plus Plan.  Cut and dry situation but today was told I have to wait about 7 days until they can get me "an answer" o

    Basic question is why are any of the minimun 8 Verizon reps that I or my Authorized Verizon Rep (at Costco) spoke with unable to resolve a very simple, straightforward issue that should have been resolved in 15 minutes max.  Instead I (a 14 year verizon customer) have been given the runaround and have invested over 6 1/2 hours in trying to get someone to acknowledge that I an owed 1 GB of Bonus Data on my new phone on our new plan.  My wife got hers.  I am just venting now as I intend on returning the phone tomorrow (I got it Thursday) and turning around and getting an identical new phone.  This was suggested to me as an option by both the Rep who sold my wife her phone and the rep who sold me mine as that way I would not have to contiinue dealing with this ridiculous state of affairs (they indicated that my Free gig request was being sent to another department and that it would be about 7 days befor they get an answer).   Just Venting  .  Thanks

    No I was considerate, etc.  The root of the problem stems from the fact that when I went to get my new phone I asked the salesperson if I should sign up for the new plan or if my wife should do it the following day when she buys her new phone (also at a Costco but in a different state).  The salesperson said it made absolutely no difference so I elected to have my wife do it.  When she did the next day she got her free Gig and her salesperson told her that I need to call in to make sure I get the gig that I am entitled to as well.  That's when the runaround started with the first call  consisting of me basically advising Verizon of what the promotion consists of, etc.since they insisted that it was one gig per Plan, that there were no exceptions to this, etc.  As mentioned they wanted to know where I got the information that it was one gig per qualifying phone. (Both the rep and her supervisor obviously were not aware of how Verizons heavily touted More Everything plan works). They told me finally that I needed to go back to the Costco where I got the phone.  I did.  The salesperson apologized numerous times to me for advising me that it made no difference who signs up for the plan or when.  She then spent over two hours on the phone (with me next to her) attempting to explain to Verizon what happened, how it was her fault, and how I was clearly entitled to the Bonus Gig since I also had a qualifying phone.  Finally she was transferred to someone who authorized the Bonus Gig (since I was clearly entitled to it) and who indicated that it might take 24 hours to show up on my new Plan.  72 hours later, no change, and the runaround continues some more.  The only reason I even came to this forum was to let off some steam since no one could give me an answer..  It's clear that I am entitled to the Bonus Gig yet the last supervisor I spoke with told me that he could only pass the request on to another department via e-mail (no direct contact, etc. even though I gave him the name and employee # of the Verizon rep who indicated the Bonus was approved) and that an answer should be forthcoming in about 7 days.  I was very cordial with everyone I spoke with as I understand that they take their direction from the top.  The countless hours I have spent dealing with this situation is something that no-one should have to go through, particularily someone who has been a Verizon Plan customer since about year 2000.  Everyone seems to agree that I am entitled to the free gig but no one seems to be in a position to help this customer.  Its a horrible way to treat someone.  I talked with the original saleslady today and told her I would be in tomorrow to turn in the phone and get a new one along with the gig I was entitled to.  She said that would be fine and wouldn't be a problem but that she would be happy to try calling Verizon once again to try to resolve the issue.  I indicated that I'm done with wasting time taliking with well-meaning and courteous (and I assume underpaid) employees who I assume are pretty much directed from above that any concessions they make, even if the customer is entitled to them, will reflect badly on their employee evaluations .  Good thing I am retired or I would really be worked up.  They only way I would consider even talking to Verizon anymore on this is if they were to waive  the $60 in upgrade fees my wife and I paid for the new phones.  I hope this explains the situation to your satisfaction.  Thanks.

    My phone spontaneously died and went to the white apple with black background screen.  I hooked it up to iTunes and it said it needed to be restored, which I then started to perform but the phone seemed unresponsive after a while and a few times I got the error # 4005 and once 4013.  I'm not sure what else I can do to get the phone back to working condition.

  • Using 20GB a month for two phones and STILL getting overages.

    My gf and I have an iPhone 6 and the 5C. We don't have wifi at home, but we do at work and school. We are hardly ever home for anything but sleeping and the occasional day off spent doing nothing. But we're going through 20GB of data and still going over the limit a few days before the cycle ends. I called to find out why it's doing this. We were using 4 GB a month with verizon, and never used all of it. The only thing they could recommend was to turn off data for apps, turn off push notifications, etc. things that we've already done because they're obvious. They aren't trying to address the problem at all. So what I'm wondering is, is this a normal amount of data usage with att? Or no?

    It's not AT&T, it's your phones.- Start doing a daily data check by calling *3282#- verify that your wifi is turned on and connecting when within a network- check your wifi connection before watching any videos or facetime or sending pics or downloading anything- see which apps are using the most data

    Here is what you should do to trouble shoot your problem.
    Open up the composition that is giving you problems
    Your error message tells you that you are having problems with the Shatter effect so select the layer with the shatter effect and turn the effect off
    Try a ram preview
    If the ram preview is successful add a solid to your comp
    Copy your shatter effect and paste it to the new solid you created
    Turn off all other layers
    Try a ram preview
    If the ram preview crashes go back to step 6 and reset shatter and try again
    If the ram preview is successful start adding the properties from your original shatter effect until you get a crash.
    If the ram preview works the first time you try step 6 then there is something wrong with the combination of shatter and the original layer it was applied to so remove shatter from that layer, pre-compose that layer moving all attributes to the new layer then paste the working shatter from the solid to the pre-comp, turn off the solid and try another ram preview.
    Do you kind of get the procedure here. When something is causing a crash first isolate that problem, try it on something simple, then try different things until you can reproduce the crash. Make sure you are saving copies of your project so you can easily go back.
    If you can't figure out what settings in Shatter are causing the crash then we need to know everything there is to know about your composition and see a screenshot or the project file. If it is the footage that is causing the crash then you need to transcode, recompress, or in some other way change the format of the footage. There is nothing we can surmise from the details you have given us that give us any clue why shatter is crashing. It usually does not. I can't think of the last time it caused a crash for me. The only possible thing I can think of that would be causing a crash is that the number of particles is causing your system to run out of memory.

    If you want to keep those messages but reduce the file size:
    Archive your Sent folder.
    How to set up Archive options - if not already set.

    Archive by month and year and choose to 'keep exisitng folder structure of archived messages'
    Then select the 'Sent' folder to see emails.
    click on first email to get focus.
    Press 'Ctrl' key and 'A' key to select all emails.
    They will be shown as 'conversations in the Message Pane'.
    click on the 'Archive' button.
    This should empty the Sent folder and place all sent emails in 'Archives' under the respective year, month and Sent folder.

    Some users have reported that as many as 8 or 9 attempts were necassary before success.
    Take your time and pay particular attention to Steps 3 and 4...

    Edge has very clear restrictions, one being that you must have 6 months of clean payment history which you don't. Either wait until April 14, or good luck at Sprint.
    I am unsure how it can be determined the payment mix up was the fault of CS, but regardless, the mix up was done. There can be any number of reasons why a payment could be missed without any fault on your part, however you are still the responsible party for the account and must live with the repercussions.
