  • How do I enable remote desktop for my free trial of azure?

I have a free trial with Azure, which I am trying to setup remote desktop access to.
Following these instructions (http://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/articles/cloud-services-nodejs-enable-remote-desktop/) I see that I am to enable remote destop using the following cmdlets
    (under the project directory)> Enable-AzureServiceProjectRemoteDesktop
    and then
    Publish-AzureServiceProject
However the second step is asking me to specify the subscription:
publish-azureserviceproject : No current subscription has been designated. Use **Select-AzureSubscription -Current <subscriptionName>** to set the current subscription.
However, I don't know the name of my subscription. It is listed as Free Trial in the azure management portal, however the following command cannot find any such named subscription
    > Select-AzureSubscription -Current "FREE TRIAL"
    Message:
Select-AzureSubscription : The subscription named 'FREE TRIAL' cannot be found. Use Set-AzureSubscription to initialize the subscription data.
The error message also advises that I use the Set-AzureSubscription cmdlet, but again, I don't know what my subscription is named.
    > Set-AzureSubscription "Free Trial"
Set-AzureSubscription : Cannot bind positional parameters because no names were given.
    Thanks for any help!

    hi James,
you can either manually configure your Windows Azure Subscription with the Windows Azure PowerShell Cmdlets or you can use a publish settings file.

    Hello,
    1. Your issue is not "SkypeToGo" related. As this board is exclusively for STG issues I'll move your post to the correct location.
    2. The free trial offer is for the Unlimited World Subscription. India is not an included country in this Plan. Details here:
    http://www.skype.com/intl/en-us/prices/pay-monthly/
To call India you require either a Limited India Plan or Skype Credit.

  • How to fully backup virtual machines in Windows Azure

For those of you like me using the 90-day trial package of Windows Azure for testing purpose before moving on to the cloud, I want to backup all virtual machines unless my account will be disabled if it reaches spending limit. Recently another account
has been disabled so all virtual machines I created are removed. I've heard of the approach used to export virtual machines.

    Hi Thuan,
When you hit the spending limit on a trail subscription, or an MSDN subscription with monthly limits, while it looks like your VMs are removed, the VHDs for those VMs still exist in your storage account and you can create VMs from them again when you enable
your subscription again (convert to pay-as-you-go, or wait for the next billing cycle in the case of subscriptions with on-going monthly limits).
Because of that, it isn't necessary to back them up relevant to the spending limit being hit.
And note that backing them up outside of Azure would incur egress fees which would cause you to hit your spending limit more quickly.
While it can be simpler to configure everything from scratch from new VMs created in Azure, another approach would be to configure them on-premises in Hyper-V, then upload them as either disks (to use for a single VM in Azure) or as images (generalized with
sysprep to use as a base template for multiple VMs). That way you already have a backup of the VHD in the copy you have on-premises. And, since inbound traffic is free, you don't have the same issue of hitting your spending limit more quickly (there will be
some outbound when doing an upload, but very little in comparison to a download).
    Thanks,
    Craig

  • Can't create SQL Database on Free Trial

"The operation is not supported for your subscription offer type."
What the heck is this? Azure front page flames that I can try this stuff for free and now I can't without paying full price?
Has anyone tried MS SQL on other cloud service providers such as Amazon?

    Hi,
When the period for the trial ends, we can't create SQL Database, refer to
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/mast/archive/2013/10/12/windows-azure-30-day-s-free-trial-uncovered.aspx for more information about the 30 days free trial, I don't familiar with Amazon, but you could find a lot of resources about the difference between Azure and
Amazon, for more information about Azure SQL Database benefits, see
    Azure SQL Database.

  • Why is no free trial available?

I need to download a free trial of Dreamweaver for Windows (PC) to do an important project for a college class, but I can't find a free trial. It looks like a new version of Dreamweaver (CS5) is coming out soon, so I can't find the CS4 trial anywhere. I only have access to this program at school, but I live 40 minutes away so I need to be able to work on this at home. I've even gotten so desperate that I tried downloading a free trial from some shady-looking sites, risking getting a virus. So far, none of the download links have worked. I can't afford to wait even as much as a week, because I need to create a website from scratch by May 6. If there is no free trial of Dreamweaver available, does anyone know of another type of website creation software that I could use to write the codes and CSS style sheet for my site, and then I could copy and paste them into Dreamweaver at school? I realize, since this is an official Adobe website, users may not be allowed to promote other companies' software, but if there's nothing available from Adobe right now I may have no other choice. I'm not very tech-savvy and I've never used software like this until a month or two ago, so I'm panicking about the shortage of time that I have for this project. Any suggestions would be welcome.

Based on pre-order information the release is imminent (estimated release 4/29).  If you cannot wait and need a trial immediately there are 2 things you can do.
If you can get your hands on a disc, even at school, do so.  Installing the software without a serial number will start the trial.
Otherwise, if you need a trial and you use Windows, there is Expression Web ( http://www.microsoft.com/expression/products/Web_Overview.aspx ).  On the Mac side, I would say maybe RapidWeaver ( http://www.realmacsoftware.com/rapidweaver/ ) or Coda ( http://www.panic.com/coda/ ).

  • My website disappeared after end of free trial

Hi there, I had a free subscription for azure and  I had one website that has now disappeared and I don't understand why since I was told that the website would still be available even after the subscription expired, and I was told that more than
once (there is no paid for item in this website) http://web-dev.azurewebsites.net/Home.aspx. Why is that?

    Hi,
Free trial is only for 30 days and website deployed will be available for Free unless the usage limit(
$210 ) to spend on all Azure services is exceeded. If it is expired, then you might have to go for Pay-as-you-go
Once you buy the azure subscription, the Azure Websites service is still available in Free, Shared, Basic and Standard editions. The Free tier allows you to host up to 10 Websites in a shared environment. Basic and Standard tiers run your web apps in private
Virtual Machines which are dedicated to your apps. You can host multiple websites/domains in each Basic and Standard instance you deploy.
How much you will be billed will purely depend on type of website tier ( Free / shared / basic / standard ) you choose for the website.
Estimate your expected monthly bill using our
Pricing Calculator, and track your actual account usage and bill at any time using the
    billing portal. Setup
automatic email billing alerts to be notified if your spend goes above an amount you configure.
    see Pricing calculator for websites
    here.

  • How do I transfer files I created during free trial to paid subscription?

I created several documents in FormsCentral using the free trial and now I just upgraded to the monthly paid subscription. When I go back into FormsCentral and try to add features to the documents that I created during my free trial, it tells me to upgrade my subscription.  So it's not recognizing that I've upgraded. Do I need to transfer the files over somehow? I hope that I am not going to lose all the work I did in creating these documents during my free trial. Thanks for your  help.

Kindly post this query in FormsCentral forum:FormsCentral

  • Is it possible to extend your free trial?

I'm new to this and was just wondering how if you can request to extend your free trial, if so, for how long?

The simple answer is no. 30 days is all you get. After that you have to buy the product.
