Freezing out! It's cold enough in UK as it is!

Please help me!
I have had my 60gb video ipod since May. I have recently updated to v7 of iTunes and have 1.2 on the iPod itself.
Within the last month I had to reset it whilst watching a video file on it because it froze. Now it needs re-setting everytime an mp3 file has artwork, or a video file is played (keeps freezing out - with tunes the mp3 file plays in the background but the time left bar stops; with video it loads up but doesn't play).
Please can some kind soul help me re-configure it or tell me what I am doing wrong.
I take it with me everywhere!
I have read a few of the other posts, but can't see anything that matches my problem exactly.
Someone must know what to do!!!

I think I might have worked out what was happening.
When I plugged the iPod back into the p.c. and ran iTunes I noticed that the disk was FULL to capacity with OTHER (the orange blocks on the capacity bar).
I reset the ipod using the reset function in iTunes and it effectively rebuilt the iPod from scratch overnight.
When I came down this morning the same thing was happening, and it was full of "other". I removed all photos and the same error occured. I removed all album artwork, same thing.
I checked enable disk use in options and in My Computer I looked at what was inside the folders that could be causing the problem. There was a folder inside it called Norton Ghost Backups. Basically, my old external hard drive that used to store the backups has been replaced, and used to be labelled as drive "E". The iPod had given itself the drive "E" label when attached to the P.C and unbeknown to me Norton Ghost was putting backups of my p.c. onto my iPod and filling it up.
I haven't tested it fully yet, but I am guessing that the reason for it freezing out on me was that the disk was at capacity on the iPod.
If I don't post again, assume that this was the reason for my iPod freezing, and that the capacity being full could be why this might be happening to you as well.

Okay, Let's assume that Apple is indeed THAT foolish.......How does one get the photos from the phone to the PC and still use them?

The photos are still on your phone, and if enabled in your Photo Stream. They are not automatically transferred to your computer when syncing.

Premiere Pro, MacPro late 2013, AMD Fire Pro 500, editing timeline screen-freeze out.

Adobe Premiere Pro software and my new MacPro with AMD 500 FirePro will not play nice together. Just for the record, I recently purchased two MacPro Late 2013, 6-core, 16GB, AMD FirePro D500, running OS X 10.9.5 systems. We now edit in Premiere Pro through AdobeCloud and have been a buzz about it until we switched to the New MacPro.
Issue: The timeline in Premiere Pro keeps locking up, crashes, displays artifacts in the video and keeps stuttering on top of it in both Mercury PlayBack GPU (OpenCL) and Software modes (both act the same). Searching many posts and possible solutions online to this problem it seems this is a common issue that has yet to be fixed.
I have called both Adobe and AppleCare and both seem to be pointing the finger at each other without admitting any fault what-so-ever. Shame on both of you for ignoring your core base customer and providing a fix. After hours spent on the phone with both companies trying to just get help resolving this issue, with no resolution what-so-ever or any real work-around, it is my opinion that I have been conned.
I have no other conclusion to come to. I generally do not post, mainly because I do not have the time to do so. I prefer searching posts to find a solution or calling the Pro’s to get the answer if I can not find it or figure it out on my own. So sad to say I am now posting for the first time ever because I really do not know what else to do.
As a Director Producer and editor of over 80 stand-up comedy shows that have premiered on the Showtime Network (all edited in FCP 7 and recently in PremierePro over the past 8 years) and who has invested 1,000's if not hundreds of thousands of dollars in product and time into both Adobe and Apple over the past 10 years, I gotta say I am very disappointed in both Adobe, Apple and AMD for what seems to be an unwillingness to admit fault or even acknowledge that this malfunction exists.
Maybe this is just a good old fashion a con? Can't really decide which it is since I feel both conned, let down and deceived into purchasing the new MacPro and Adobe Premiere Pro products with the idea that it would not only make my life easier but would in fact save me money and time. None of which seem to be coming to fruition.
In-fact I have lost a week in time that I will never get back and actual work (files lost) trying to come up with my own solution or work around to what seems to be a design flaw. Not to mention the over 10k we have spent supposedly upgrading to the most advanced and best working machine and software in the industry… right! Is that why these products are called Pro? MacPro, Adobe Premiere Pro and AMD FirePro 500??? Really? This is so not Pro, this has in fact become counter-PRO-ductive.
With the advanced technologies of both these great companies these products are suppose to work as advertised and they do not. Shame on both of you for conning us who are loyal consumers into following you down this dark path while you fight it out and point the finger behind the vail at each other over what I am sure can be fixed, while we the consumer suffer your learning curve or unwillingness to admit fault.
There are thousands of Editors and producers who have been “con"-vinced through great marketing to upgrade to the MacPro trash-can (starting to see why its called that) while trying to adapt years of work through Premiere Pro to have it stop because these three "Pro Companies" can’t seem to get it together. GET IT TOGETHER!!! All of you and get this fixed.
Stop pointing the fingers at each other and get this fixed or years of good will be unraveled. Don't make us all go out and buy custom PC systems that might be faster and better working.

The picture freeze comes randomly so there is no chance of seeing the usage in time and is only in Pr, not the MacPro at all. The time-line picture in Pr freezes and the sound continues to play out. Then when the timeline is stopped and we try and scrub to see movement, the sound scrubs normally but the picture does not. Eventually the clip in that section becomes either a freeze frame for the entire clip or it randomly turns green, sometimes not all green sometimes all green sometimes random lines of color artifacting. Then quitting out of the program is the only way out. Also at this point Pr does not quit completely, we have to do a force quit to shut it down. When it opens back up again the timeline is fine for another 20 minutes or so. Again longest run was about 2 hours before artifacting and freezing out. Also at any edit point, we then have to render to see it play smoothly, it works intermittently sometimes ok for a period of time after the render. Also if there is no render, then there is nothing but stuttering in that area of the timeline which i know is not suppose to happen.
FYI: below is the email I got back from the Support Associate I spoke with at Adobe just three days ago (October 3) who's thought was that it was a system wide problem with the OS X and that I should read his attached link (still no solution) which is also where I got some of my rhetoric about finger pointing and although I made it clear I was on 10.9.5 this link talks about problems with 10.9.3: of course, on the opposite side, the AppleCare supervisor I spoke to later in the day blamed it on Adobe Pr stating that no other program was experiencing these problems. Again no solution and more reason for frustration in my original post.

So 1st gen ipad users are basiclly left out in the cold unless they go out an buy a new IPad - of course DTV and The Blaze are blaming Apple and Apple is blaming them - what is the deal Apple - I pay for my subscription to The Blaze in order to have it on my IPad and now I can't even use it - same with DTV - so is Apple now forcing people to buy upgraded devices thru their apps that will no longer support the older generations - what a joke this is and bad business.

Unfortunately software always moves faster than hardware.
Apple's not going to change things. You can try talking to those two app developers and have them make their older versions available.

Why firfox freezes out my macbook

Im a bit pissed of, because some minutes before was the tenth time when the fiefoz totally killed my mac. Usully the site I browse includes flash or javascript when it freezes out. But why? I am using firefox since the first version(2002) but now I started to feel that started to run out of my loyailty and tolerantion. Is there any way to solve this problem or I have to choose a new browser?

did you install software and if so, where did you get it? I am running 10.7.4 and when the unit is plugged in via the ethernet usb cable, I can see ups in the control panel, but have no other control. I am media managing a television shoot and we need to set up our workstations pronto.

Nokia N97 empty home screen freezes out of nothing

Last week my Nokia N97 type RM-505 was delivered, and I had to hard reset it three times since then. I have updated the firmware to V 11.0.021. The problem is as follows:
The home screen freezes totally out of the blue. All the widgets are on screen, but empty, including the selected profile and date next to the clock. The only thing that works is the clock itself. The contacts shortcut has disappeared as well.
By using the menu button I can still perform most tasks on the phone, the phone is much slower however and the battery runs out faster. Reinstalling the firmware or going back to factory settings have no effect at all. The phone has been in this state for up to six hours, either on or off (with the battery taken out).
The problems seems to occur at random, once when I turned it on in the morning, once when using it and twice while not using it but when the phone was turned on. I used a hard reset (*#7370#) the first two times and the third time after I used the *#7780# reset.
I was thinking of returning the phone, but the last time it returned to normal after typing in *#0000#. I couldn't make out however if this was the cause for the phone going back to normal or that it was just a coincidence.
At this moment my phone functions normally, but I am quite worried that it will freeze up again and I have to perform a hard reset again. I have read on a Dutch forum that somebody had exactly the same problem, so if there are more people here please report, hopefully with a permanent solution.

I was having the exact same problem with an N97 I bought 5 days ago. It randomly froze and all I could see was the clock working. But an added problem I had was that my screen and keys were both locked so I couldn't even perform a hard reset. So basically my phone was frozen, all my widgets were blank and all the keys were locked. The screen unlock key wouldn't work either and opening the slider wouldn't unlock the keypad either. My phone doesn't have a warranty either so I was on the verge of being royally scr**ed.
Luckily after searching around for a few hours, I found these steps to get the keypad unlocked long enough to perform a hard reset:
1. Take out the battery and reinsert after 1 minute.
2. Connect the phone to a computer and let charging begin.
3. Turn on the phone with the slider open.
4. This is important: Do NOT let the screen lock. Press buttons, the keypad button on screen, anything.
5. Hopefully once a few buttons are pressed the numeric keypad on screen should come up.
6. Use *#7370# and default code 12345 to perform hard reset (or soft, depending on your choice)
7. Phone is back in working condition.
However once I had performed all these steps and reinstalled my widgets and stuff, I woke up this morning to find my phone stuck again with the keypad locked. After reading this post I connected my phone to the computer to unlock the keypad and removed the email widget. After restarting my phone it seems to be working just fine. Hasn't gotten stuck or anything for a few hours now. Hopefully the problem won't resurface and I will be able to update to the new firmware and have this issue resolved once and for all. Will post updates if the problem happens again.

After 10.7.3 Update, computer freezes out of sleep

I have two computers a new MacBook Pro 13" - 8GBs RAM and a 2x2.66 GHz 6 - Core Intel Xeon (12 core). I have updated both computers today to 10.7.3 Immediately after updating I noticed that both computers are freezing (wheel of death) after coming out of sleep mode. this is happening on both computers.
When I have something open and I come out of sleep and try to do anything, move a page, close a page, anything, it freezes. I have to either Force Quit the program and even sometimes Force Quit doesn't work so I have to Force Shut down the computer.
Anyone else having the same problem?

I have a 27ins iMac, 3.06 Ghz core 2 duo, 4GB ram.
Like Jim, I am suffering freezes after sleep since installing 10.7.3. No wheel of death, just frozen. No keyboard, mouse or trackpad input at all.
Only solution to is to power off and restart.
My mac has never missed a beat before, but I now feel as though I have gone back 15 years to a windows pc.
Fingers starting to automatically reach for alt ctrl delete

I updated on last bios,but the problem still there
Ati catalyst drivers are the last.
there is green power interface on atx power supply.
Is that the problem ,or any configuration in bios?

HP Pavillion p6240f freezes during boot up - Not enough space in Runtime area!!

My HP Pavillion p6240f desktop freezes during boot up. After POSTing and listig the USB connections, it displays the following on the bottom of the screen:
Not enough space in Runtime area!! SMBIOS data will not be available. Press F1 to resume.
I went into setup, and this is the BIOS data:
AMI BIOS revision 5.16 BIOS Date: 01/13/2010
Core Version 08.00.15
Can anyone help me? I have found no solutions after heavily searching the internet, and it is important that this computer have unattended reboot after a power outage.

Try clearing the CMOS.
If the above doesn't work then remove two of the four dimms (every odd dimm) and then again clear the CMOS. If this should work then power down and reinstalled the two dimms and again clear the CMOS and reboot.
If the above doesn't work then you might have to visit the local PC repair shop.
If you can get unattended boot after power outage to work then there is a bios setting that needs to be changed. Boot into the bios and look under the power drop down. The after AC power failure needs to be set to AUTO (restart). Be sure to save the settings.

In MMPV transaction you can give the period which you want to open.For eg if you want to do miro postings til jan 2010 but not for feb 2010 you can opn til jan 2010 in MMPV transaction

Maxed out 13in mbp good enough?

Hey guys, I'm a graphic design student and want a MacBook Pro to run adobe creative suite 6, Final Cut Pro X, and Microsoft office 2010. If I got a 13in classic mbp with i7, and put in 16 gb ram along with a ssd, would it be good enought o run all those programs efficiently and smoothly without much lag?
Also, 15 in has quad core, but its also big and pricier, plus I heard the ram is not upgradable...is the performance difference between the two enough to justify a 15in?

Only the Retina macbook pro Ram is not upgradable, as it being resident on the logic board...., the standard Pro is upgradable.
MS Office requires next to nothing to run. As for multi layer temp editing etc on Final Cut Pro X it would certainly be enough, however charts show that 16gb can be a bit of overkill if you install a SSD.
I can run generic editing with Final Cut Pro even on my 4gb Macbook Air. However as far as doing graphics editing, the 15" would logically be more desirable.

Finder freezing out of mistake

Hello ,
I was moving few files around between 2 laptops and i accidentally dropped huge amount of files on the desktop
I tried to cancel it but still theres lot of stuff got copied so since then Finder is freezed and it still freezes every time i force turn off the laptop and turn it back on .
I just need a way to enter the desktop folder so i can delete them , without removing the hard disk or any hardware issue am not that good at it .

Booklet 3g freezes out of the blue

Hello, I am trying to fix my daughters booklet 3g, any suggestions on what's going on with it? it has the latest software, I scan it and fixed registry problems, but still it freezes completely even on desktop window. Any ideas and help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

well, you can try to clear the temp files/cookies/etc.
internet explorer/tools/internet options/delete
and then see if that will help a bit.
also, i would look to see what you have actually running on the device that could be slowing it down.
there is only 1GB of ram in the deivce, so run as little as possible.
delete any toolbars that she may have installed by accident or on purpose. most of the phish anyway.
turn off the aero (if it is on)
get a SD memory card and use it as a Readyboost by putting it in the SD card slot, then start/computer/find the drive and right click and choose properties, then choose the readyboost tab.
if she is using any messengers...close them...only use one at a time.
you can see what is running at startup by start/type "msconfig" in the search bar. BE CAREFUL with this....go to the start up tab, and only uncheck things like msn/yahoo/etc. stuff you know is not part of the OS that will be required to start the device correctly. (if you are not confident about this, dont do it.)
that should be a good start. then scan it for viruses again and clean the registry.

Apple has left me out in the cold!

I no longer have access to facetime on my iPad2 running iOS 6.1.3 and this was working fine till a week back. Apple suggests I update my OS to iOS 7 to solve the problem but I am not keen on doing that at all because iPad2 runs very sluggishly on iOS7 and I don't like the neon garish colours on 7. How can Apple do this ? I feel harassed in this suffocating Apple environment where there is no choice at all. I wonder if Steve Jobs stood for this "my way or the highway" attitude that Apple has started throwing at customers of late.
I don't want iOS7! My iPad2 was perfect with IOS 6.1.3 and Apple has no right to deactivate a service that worked exceptionally well on this set up.

sorry, I'm trying to find some humour in a situation that I seriously wish Apple would reconsider, as I too prefer 6 over 7.
Can you imagine the flack Microsoft would get if they made XP not funtion when Vista was released, VIsta not function when 7 was released, etc?
I watched TWIT with that guy who used to be good, Leo someone...and they just waxed over this last iOS update without even mentioning the Facetime ultimatum. Apple sure gets some breaks in the press it would seem.
I am not a coder, but is updating a "certificate" difficult? That's a serious question to anyone who understands it. It doesn't seem like it's something that would be worth killing 11% of users hardware over.
