  • Insert a number of rows for tabular form based on frequency value

    Hi,
I have a page with two search items.
Based on the values in the search item, a report is created as tabular form.
The information displayed has a frequency column.
    Values for frequency can be Q, Y, M, D
I would like to know if it is possible to to load the form with a standard numbers of row depending on the frequency.
Example: If frequency is Q ,then when i click the go button in the search region, the tabular shoud load with the information displaying 4 rows, even if the information returned is less than 4 rows.
If frequency is Y ,then when i click the go button in the search region, the tabular shoud load with the information displaying 2 rows, even if the information returned is less than 2 rows.
When no data is found, the form should load displaying a number of empty rows depending on the frequency.
    Thanks

  • How to obtain Frequency values from Agilent E8361 VNA LV8

I am migrating code from an Agilent 8722ET VNA to the newer E8361A
model network analyzer.  The new E8361X library does not have any
VI that i have found that will actually collect the frequency spectrum
    from this instrument.
The save data VI only collects the measurement values and not the x-axis.
I have tried the method the 87XX vi uses which uses a "OUTPLIML"
function to obtain the values for a frequency list or log sweep.
It does not appear there is a command that is equivalent to this on the E8361.
I have attached the code which works for a linear sweep but not for a log one.
    Any help would be appreciated.

  • What units are the frequency values for the filter VI's in?

Yesterday I was messing around w/ the butterworth filter and wanted to filter out low end noise < 30 Hz from my daq inputs.  I put in 30 for the frequency and it didn't work the way I explected.  Are the input units for frequency Hz?  I ended up messing around w/ the value until I put in 0.5 and it worked properly.

  • Frequency and Histograms

I have a list of 70 GPA's and I want to do a frequency distribution and Histogram. I tried to do the formula
=Index(frequency(d2:d72),(g5:g8),h5 but I keep getting a syntax error . for the range of upper limits I put 2.0 in cell g5, 2.5 in cell g6, 3.0 in g7, 3.5 in g8, 4.0 is the highest possible GPA

    Hi Ms. Jones,
The proper syntax would be: =INDEX(FREQUENCY(D2:D72,G5:G8),H5)
I can't say if that will give you the result you are looking for, but from what you did say about your table content, you are on the right track.

  • Remove Data values above a certain frequency

    Hi,
I am analysing the resonance peaks of a vibration frequency spectrum with a bandwidth up to 10KHz, however am only interested in peaks situated between 1 and 4.5kHz. Is there a quick way to automatically remove the channel contents outside the area of interest, using a filter or a simple function?
Excuse my ignorance - Im new to the area!
    Thanks
    hel

    Hello Hel,
just use chnfiltcalc. Based on the channel your frequency values are held in you can set a FiltLowLimit (would be 1 Khz in your case) or a FiltHighLimit (would be 4.5 Khz). As FiltType you'll have to set 'Band pass' for only handling peaks between those limitations. You'll also have to decide on FilterType, FilterStructure and so on. Hope, you're familiar with filtering in general?
Hope this helps, just have a look at the help for further information on the other options required.
The simplest way to configure the chnfiltcalc function would be setting the parameters first (e.g. FiltLowLimit := 1 and afterwards just invoking the chnfiltcalc command.

  • Frequency measurement keep reading value when stop rotation

    Hi,
i am doing the program in the attachment
in this program i am using ni9401 and cDAQ 9188 to measure frequency from motor driver
but i am facing some problems
    1. the reading sometimes different than osciliscpe.
    2. when i stop the motor the program still read values and not going to zero |
Note my driver send the feed back as a signal"Pulses" with difference frequencies depend on my speed . i send digital values to the driver pins 111 to make it rotrate forward and 100 to make it stop rotating + analog value to change the speed
can i have help in that ?

As I understand this you are trying to read the frequency of an quad encoder and the reading is fine as long as the quad encoder is at a steady speed but when it is changing speed you are getting random frequency values.  I looked at your code and nothing seemed to jump out at me as being wrong with it but I do have a couple suggestions to see if we can narrow down where the issue may lie.
If you could just try running on of the examples found in the example finder (Help»Find Examples...) specifically example Hardware Input and Output»DAQmx»Counter Measurements»Digital Frequency»Meas Dig Frequency-Buffered-Cont-High Freq 2 Ctr.vi.  And just wire the output to a waveform chart or a dial and see if you are seeing the same results there.  If that is giving expected results i would just implement your formula node and averaging into that example and save it as your code.  I have attached an image of such an implementation.

  • Frequency bar chart

    Hi all
How do I produce a chart from a column of numbers which will show a standard frequency bar chart? i.e. Frequency on the y axis, n on the x axis: f of 1, f of 2, f of 3 ... f of n.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

I know of no direct way to have number make a frequency or histogram chart. A frequency table can be computed and a bar chart made of it to create something like a histogram. I have made an example Numbers file illustrating a technique, though it is not as flexible as I had hoped. A zip of this file can be downloaded from the following page by clicking on the yellow "Click here to start download" button.
    http://www.mediafire.com/?7dijxj9tjdn
I had hoped to automatically compute the bins by analyzing the range of data values. And while I was able to accomplish that, I could not figure out how have them appear as labels on the bar chart. So, as it stands, the bins must be manually adjusted to accommodate the data range.

  • Automatically decreasing the frequency of a sinwave in a While loop, at a set timing.

    Hi,
I am quite new on labview, I just started to use it roughly a month ago.
I am trying to simulate impedance measurement (not connected to any load units yet).
I am struggling to find a proper way to change the frequency of the sinwave, after a certain length of time, to make it describe a full spectra of frequency. I don't want to change it at every iteration, but like every 80 seconds, after the start/stop button has been pressed.
To be more clear, I want to set a Max frequency, a Min frequency, and have the program dividing the frequencies by two (10000, 5000, 2500... Assuming the Max is 10000 for example) every 80 seconds. And stopping at the min frequency.
    Here is the vi attached.
If you think of better way to run my .vi, please let me know.

Sin wave start stop.vi ‏97 KB

The frequency is set by the 'w' parameters in your sine wave function.
So basically, you want a function that reads in the current time and outputs a frequency value starting at 10000 and decreasing by 50% every 80 seconds.
Here is a simple VI that will do exactly that.  It takes the data from Elapsed time (s) and delivers a frequency to w.
Right now, it's set to start at 10,000 but you can wire Fmax instead.

  • How to switch central frequency fastly with labview and USRP?

    Hello everybody,
Recently I was making a frequency hopping receiver with labview and USRP N210 and SBX. The transmitter works on the 2.4G band, and it changes from one central frequency to another every 65536us. As I think, if I start receiving at the correct time, and  change the central frequency of the USRP every 65536us, I should be able to receive the data.
But I find that, when usrp switch form one central frequency to a different one, it spends nearly 48ms and when it switch from one frequency to the same one, it only spends 3ms(I test the performance by modifying the niUSRP EX Rx Continuous Async Reconfig on the Fly.vi example). So if I want to follow the hopping sequency, I may can only receive 17ms data because I have to save time for switching central frequency.
My problem is that: why usrp changes central frequency so slow,  how can I make the process faster? If I want to follow the hopping sequency, can anybody give me some good advice? Thanks

There is an attribute "LO Frequency" that you can use to lock down the frequency of the local oscillator.  Then, when you set the "Carrier Frequency" attribute, the difference between the carrier frequency value and the LO frequency value will be realized by frequency shift in the DSP in the FPGA.  Changing this "digital" frequency shift value is much faster, since you don't have to re-tune the local oscillator.
Let's say you're sweeping from 2.44 GHz to 2.46 GHz.  Set the "LO Frequency" to 2.45 GHz then Commit.  Then, in your loop, program the "Carrier Frequency" attribute from 2.44 GHz to 2.46 GHz.  In the loop, it will only program the digital frequency shift, which will happen much faster.
Another tip is to use the property node to program only the attributes you want to change, rather than the niUSRP Configure Signal.vi (which sets many at once).
For more details, see the "Configuration:Advanced:LO Frequency Property" in the NI-USRP Help, and look at this example:

  • Price conversion base on billing frequency and price frequency

We have a business scenario - an unlimited subscription billed annually, price condition record set monthly, i.e. for subscription for product for one month cost £100, and bill annually.  We need to have automatic price conversion to achieve subscription price of : 12 x £100 = £1200.
We set up a yearly billing frequency, and monthly price frequency, added this matching entry in IMG-> maintain billing procedures for subscriptions.   Our pricing structure (key combination) is: publication/edition/price frequency, £100 for price frequency "monthly".  Then we created a subscription with yearly billing frequency, and expect the price to be 12 X £100 = £1200.  However, we could not see this conversion work.  The order just simply retrieve £100 price based on the coniditon record with access to publication/edition/price frequency (value "monthly" is retrieved in access sequence to find condition record).
Based on SAP help document, this functionality should be standard (attached), but it is not working.
Pleaes advice how to make this happen?  Anything i set up in config or price condition record that is wrong? Many thanks.
    Hailan.
    SAP help doucmentation:
The price frequency is used to record subscription prices in the master data for conditions. The price freqnecy for which a price is maintained can differ from the billing frequency of the subscription. An automatic conversion takes place during pricing.

    Hi,
Maintain price frequency = 1 Month and billing frequency = 12 mnths.
Then assign price freq. to billing freq.
In ur case i think both price freq. and billing freq. are 1 Month.

  • SCPI command to set the frequency for power measurement on Agilent 53147A?

    Hello,
I am trying to automate some measurements which require me to use an Agilent 53147A Freq Counter/Power Meter/Digital Voltmeter. The instrument has an option of setting the frequency of the signal we intend to measure. This is done by clicking the "FREQ" button on the instrument and entering the frequency value of the signal whose power we intend to measure. This way the power meter uses the appropriate calibration factor for that frequency for providing accurate signal power level.
I have been trying to set the frequency of the signal whose power I intend to measure through remote control but have not met success as I have not been able to find the SCPI command associated with this task in the operating manual. Does anyone know what SCPI command is to be used for this purpose? Any comment in this regard is highly appreciated.
    Thank You,
    Vivek

    Hi vivek.madhavan.13,
Try using the drivers for this device found here:
    http://sine.ni.com/apps/utf8/niid_web_display.download_page?p_id_guid=834204A36619504AE04400144FB7D2...
Then, by going to the lowest level that the VIs permit, you may be able to find the SCPI commands your application needs.

  • How do I generate a sinusoidal waveform for frequency 0,05Hz?

    Hi everyone,
I  generate a sinusoidal waveform for different amplitude and frequencies. However, I can not obtain a waveform for frequency<0,05 Hz. For the frequency values under freq=0,05 Hz, the vi gives an error as can be seen from the attachment picture. I have changed the "buffer size", "scan rate", "total scan to acquire" and "count", but it failed again and gave the same error. Is there anyone who can deal with or experienced with something like this problem? Also, could you please the exact meaning of
    scan rate=
    total scan to acquire=
    buffer size=
In order to prevent the aliasing, what should be these values? What kind of relations are there between them? Because, for different selected frequencies, I have to change these values, otherwise I detect wrong frequency value using "Tone Measurements.vi" that is located at the LabView library.
Also, could you please make a comment on filtering? I want to filter very small vibrations from the signal using express vi of "Filter.vi". Should I have to use lowpass filter, or highpass filter, or bandpass or, smoothing etc. and what value of "cuttoff frequency" should I use? Thanks a lot...

Unsteady Pipe Flow Analysis.zip ‏126 KB

    Hi,
I have also attached two files. One is related with f=1 Hz. When I adjust the frequency to 1 Hz, I can obtain and detect the true frequency response. However, as can be seen the waveform graph in the 1 Hz.jpg, I do not want to save or analyse the data which I circled in green colour. Because, the hotwire begins from the zero value and there is a peak at the top. After the first period, the waveform comes through the periodic one. Start of period from zero and make a bit peak at the top will change my statistic analysisi of signal. So I want to omit the first period.
In the second attachement, (f=10Hz.jpg), ı changed the frequency of the signal from 1 Hz to 10 Hz. Now, the vi detected the wrong frequency as can be seen from the picture "Detected Frequency=0,1". Also, the waveform graph does not show the right periodic signal.
So, what is the wrong? The filtering? or the scan rate? , total scan to acquire?, buffer size????? or what?? I have tried many different combinations of these control values, but the vi always detected the wrong frequency and the waveform graph was always like that.
