Fresh archlinux server install, something seems wrong

Hi there!
Haven't updated my archlinux build on my server since well years, because i've been very content with the stable product. Now after error after error trying to build a newer version of sabnzbd, I decided to re-install archlinux instead. I've noticed a lot of new additions since I last installed archlinux, or linux in general.
This is a clean install with very little added. I did however install aria2 (for performance). Everytime I try to run a pacman upgrade I recieve this huge output of information, is this normal?
#Pacman -Syu

  • Something seems wrong!

When i using the BDB to persist some data, i found a strange problem that confuse me. I run a program to persist about 100,000 datas (less than 1 kb per data). When saving the data, i delete all the file in the home directory deliberately. I guess that the program will stop or give me some err information, but in fact , the program still continue to run, just seems like nothing happened.
Can anyone do me a favor to explain why? If i want to detect the event(just like that mentioned before) happened in the home directory in realtime, what should i do?

I think protection of your data files should be via the operating system and file system security. We have never had a request for this sort of check before.

  • Exchange 2013 - OWA "Something Went Wrong", Out of office in Outlook "Server unavailable"

    Hi,
We have a new deployment of Exchange 2013 CU2 V2 running on a Windows 2012 server.  Everything has been running without issues and then without any real clue to why, we are now getting an issue where OWA says "Something Went Wrong" after processing
your login, (it appears to process the login as if I type in incorrect details it tells me the password/username is wrong).
At the same time we have also lost the ability to run the Out Of Office in Outlook which comes back saying the server is not available and we can't seem to share calendars correctly either.  (Can set Out Of Office via the Management Shell without issues).
When running a Get-Serverhealth on the OWA.Protocol it tells me the OWASelfTestMonitor is unhealthy.
I've tried re-creating the OWA, EWS Virtual Directorys and also the autodiscover but with no effect.  I've also restarted the server.
Outlook 2013 and mobile phones are working fine on the server and the Exchange Admin Centre is also working without issues.
I am getting tempted to apply CU2 again to see if this sorts it but don't really like doing this on a server with 50 live users on it...

    Hi Angela,
I can't see any re-directions on the website and have certainly not set any intentionally.  I did try installing the Remote Web Gateway on the server and then found that it doesn't work on an exchange box and removed it but the server was working after
    this.
The HTTP Redirect in Default Web Site is not showing anything set and the same for the Back End.
    The bindings on the default site all look normal with;
    http     80   127.0.0.1
    https   443  127.0.0.1
    http     80    *
    http    443   *
The same is mirrored in the Exchange Back End site but with ports 81 and 444.
Running the Outlook auto configure just using Autodiscover all looks good with the URLs listed all pointing to (http)://mail.mydomain.co.uk/whatever...  and the log says Autodiscover to (https)://mail.mydomain.co.uk/Autodiscover/Autodiscover.xml Suceeded
    (0x00000000)
    But, if I type in the OOF address of (https)://mail.mydomain.co.uk/EWS/exchange.asmx I get a login prompt but once user details are entered I then get;
'.', hexadecimal value 0x00, is an invalid character. Line 1, position 1.

  • Fresh 10.4.10 Server install keeps going into unbootable state overnight.

We have a Power Mac G5 with two 2GHz processors running OS X Server Tiger (well, or actually, it's not "running" at the moment). We'd been having some intermmttent problems, so I finally just decided to rebuild everything from scratch. Anyhow, what seems to be happening is that I'll do a fresh OS X Server install from disk (10.4), install all the updates. In the last attempt, I set up Open Directory as part of the install with Windows support, it defaulted to turning on Windows File Sharing, but I did not turn on any other services. After installing all the updates, I copied data over from a backup of the old drive using "ditto -X". I only copied data from "/Groups", "/Home" and "/Users" being careful not to copy over the new admin account. I have added no users past the required admin created in the setup, changed no other settings, started no other services, etc. I leave it overnight copying data, and finish up copying in the morning. It seems to be running great. I reboot, and it goes to a plain grey-white screen, and freezes there ... eventually I get the obligatory fans blowing like jets. If I run Disk Utility and repair and fix permissions, no errors come back on the disk, and it'll fix a few seemingly inconsequential permissions. After that, it'll boot to the Apple logo (which oddly seems to drop down a few pixels after first appearing), and then nothing till the fans kick in and that's it.
I've reset the NVRAM and PRAM. It will not boot into single user mode, do a verbose boot, etc. There are no error messages to even start to guess. The only new thing I learned this morning is that if I boot with the option key down and select the hard drive it'll give me the grey-white screen with an icon with a circle and a line through it. The drive does exactly the same thing (won't boot) if I put it in any other PowerMac G5. The filesystem on the drive appears to be perfectly intact. The system has just passed the extended Apple Hardware Test.
The only other thing to add is that it has been doing this same behavior repeatedly over the past week. Each time, I've been doing less and less, restoring less data, and every time, the same result. I'm only finally posting because, well I figure if I can't even just copy over user-level data to a fresh OS install, something is really messed up.
The only guess I have is that it seems like this is happening overnight, and maybe something in the nightly cleanup services that get run is making the system unbootable? I looked in the system log files and nothing this serious seemed to be there.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm pretty much out of ideas/options. Seems like there ought to at least be a way to figure out where in the early boot process it's failing.

I keep assuming they are going to want to charge for this (we're about 3-4 months out of the 3-year Apple maintenance plan). Honestly, I've about reached the point where I don't see how this can't be a significant, albeit obscure, flaw in OS X Server, and I don't think one should pay Apple to fix what appears to be their problem. If nothing else there is a complete lack of debugging info, partly understandable for being that early in the boot process (though sticking the Apple logo on the screen is apparently important enough); then again, that early in the boot process, the code should be refined enough that these kinds of problems shouldn't occur.
I had tried your suggestion of blessing the CoreServices folder (I may have actually done it before posting the first time). At one point I also cleared out the kernel cache, but none of it seems to make any difference. Does the Apple logo get drawn in BootX? I've had a hard time finding a detailed description of the boot process (some pages seem to contradict each other), and there doesn't seem to be any easy way of debugging it. It seems like I could get it into various states of drawing the white screen, usually it gives me the Apple logo, but some times it'll just go plain white, and once I got it to give me the circle with the line through it.
For example, this page says the Apple logo and spinning cursor all happen at thee same time:
    http://www.kernelthread.com/mac/osx/arch_boot.html
You suggest the spinning cursor happens a bit later. Apple doesn't even seem to have a page on this.
Then again, I could spend a bunch of time debugging BootX, device driver and kernel loading ... and then I'm still left with the, what does copying non-system files over to the disk have anything to do with it?

  • Server 4.1 Profile Manager - Something Went Wrong

    Hi,
I just updated my Mac Mini Server from 10.10.2 to 10.10.3, updating to Server 4.1.
It seemed to go okay, but now Profile Manager is messed up.  When users try to log in, they get the message:
We're sorry, but something went wrong.
We've been notified about this issue and we'll take a look at it shortly.
(If you're the administrator of this website, then please read the log file "profilemanager.log" to find out what went wrong.)
When I look through the logs I find this:
    [2015/04/09 23:15:47.194] F: ActiveRecord::StatementInvalid (PG::Error: ERROR:  relation "view_all_user_groups_users_flat" does not exist
    [2015/04/09 23:15:47.195] I: Rendering /Applications/Server.app/Contents/ServerRoot/usr/share/devicemgr/backend/public /500.html (500 Internal Server Error)
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

  • Strange solution to "Something went wrong trying to install this application."

Basically the solution was to install

Then, I associated the .air file with the "airappinstaller.exe"
executable located in the AIR beta 3 directory. Amazingly, doing
this allowed me to install the AIR application without any
    problems.
The problem this addresses is getting the message "Something
went wrong trying to install this application." every time I tried
to install an AIR application. The exact error message is below. I
assumed that I was having problems because I had installed an AIR
beta in the past. I'm not for sure on that though. The AIR
installer log seemed normal. At least there were not any error
messages that I could see. The AIR application installer log did
not output any data for me. I followed the instructions from
    this
blog on setting up the installer logs.
    Here is the error message:

Something went wrong trying to install this application.
Please install the latest version of Adobe AIR from
    http://www.adobe.com/go/getair
    and then try again.

    think was "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe AIR\Versions\1.0.6".
    Adobe AIR
Something went wrong trying to install this application.
Please install the latest version of Adobe AIR from
    http://www.adobe.com/go/getair
    and then try again.
    OK

  • Something Went Wrong Trying to install...

I haven't every been able to get AIR to work on my laptop
since it was called Apollo, but I got a bunch of cool links to
stuff at MAX that I wanted to try out, so I uninstalled the AIR
Runtime I had, rebooted, installed AIR 1.5, and now all attempts to
install AIR applications com back with the dreaded "Something Went
Wrong Trying to install this application." error.
I'm running Vista Home Premium, and I did run into a problem
where the HKLM/Software/Classes/.air keys were locked, and after
wrestling with the Registry permissions, I managed to clean that
up, so the installer now seems to be creating and deleting those
keys properly. However, I'm still getting this "Something Went
    Wrong" error.
    I've created .airappinstall.log and .airinstall.log files in
my home directory, but the .airappinstall.log file remains empty.
The .airinstall.log file shows a successful install of the AIR
    runtime.
I've got several .air files that I've downloaded and saved to
my computer, and these seem to suffer the same problems as if I
were using the "Badge" installations online.
If I uninstall the AIR application, and then use a Badge
install to install both the application and the runtime, both
successfully install. However, any subsequent application installs
fail with the same "Something went wrong" message.

    Do you have Vista 64bit?
Does this look like your problem?

  • Pls install latest version of Adobe AIR-something went wrong

When I try to open an episode in Photoshop CS5 Feature Tour () http://tv.adobe.com/watch/photoshop-cs5-feature-tour/terry-whites-favorite-things-about-cs 5-design-premium/) an AIR error message pops up saying:
Something went wrong trying to install this application. Please install the latest version of Adobe AIR from http://www.adobe.com/go/getair and then try again.
I have downloaded the program from that site, uninstalled AIR and reinstalled the downloaded version to no avail. It just keeps popping up. I click OK on the pop-up error message and the video plays just fine. But it is an annoying pop-up that just won't go away.
    What gives.
    Roxy

No, I bloody hate that feature of Vista and turned it off long ago!
I think you’re on the money with the permissions thing because the digging around on the net, which I read seems to points to that.
But as I say there is loads of conjuncture and advice but no solutions

  • Signed up for free trial, clicked an application: "We're sorry, something seems to be wrong on..."

Some free trial. "We're sorry, something seems to be wrong on our end. Please try again later."

It finally worked, but the CC download installer when trying to browse products to install, like DW, fails. with a Download Error.

  • "We're sorry, something seems to be wrong on our end. Please try again later."

    Hello,
I'm a subscribent of a yearly CC plan, and everything was OK since now. Day before yesterday, when the schedule for next monthly payment tick, Adobe did not charge my card. And yesterday morning I received an email with a message like that (self-transalted since I received it in Polish):
"With the end of the payed period your account on CC was changed to free  since we couldn't charge your card. To use paid account update the payment information [link] (...)"
    Well, cool. But:
    1. My card is OK, I'm sure about that and bank confirms that. Nothing was charged from it.
    2. I can't update the payment information since I get the "we're sorry" notice.
Customer service can't help me, at least the online one. The sole response the guy came up with to malfunctioned payment information update was to perform... payment information update. And an advice to call 0800 which is not even responding (rejecting my every call with a busy signal, tried all day long yesterday).
Here's the issue - what now? I can't edit the information, the error doesn't seem to miraculously fix itself and I can't use a support since there's no competent support that I can reach.
    Thank you for any help.
    A.

I am having the same issue. When I try to update my payment information I receive an error that states, "We're sorry, something seems to be wrong on our end. Please try again later.
After Adobe's servers were breached I received a phonecall from my bank, stating that someone had used my credit card at a hotel in Mexico (I live in Ohio). I closed that credit card and was issued a new card. I want to update my card information on my Creative Cloud subscription. I chatted via the web with a customer service rep today. He was anable to help me. He suggested I call the Care Center. The hold was estimated at 2 hours. All I want to do is update my card information so the next time Adobe automatically bills for my subscription the transaction doesn't bounce.

  • Do I need to install something in server to enable iPad user to use SAP?

I know that at client side, mobile user just need to have SAP Business One mobile application installed in the iPad. But how about the server side, is it necessary for the Administrator to install something?
If it is, what is to install & how to obtain it?
If it is not, how does the iPad able connect to the database? SAP B1 is based on Windows & uses MS SQL Server, while iPad is not based on Windows.
I would also appreciate if you provide link to useful resources, e.g. detailed documentation, iPad simulator.
    Thank you.

    Dear Sandy,
To use the SAP Business One Mobile App you need to be running SAP Business One version 8.8 PL12 and B1 8.8 Integration Component or higher. SAP Business One version 8.81 is recommended, also to use the latest functions of the App.
About further documentation - Are you a SAP Partner or Customer? All installation docu comes along with the software indeed.
[Here |http://service.sap.com/~sapidp/011000358700000483052011E/B1_MobileApp_Guide.pdf]you can find the public Documentation for the App: The SAP Business One Mobile Application for iPhone and iPad

  • Can't install widget browser - Adobe AIR, "Something went Wrong . . ."

I'm having trouble installing the widget browser as I get an error:
"Something went wrong trying to install this application.  Please install the latest version of Adobe AIR from
http://www.adobe.com/go/getair and then try again."  I've included a screen shot at bottom of this post.
I've downloaded the adobe air application and installed several times, but still get this same popup error
message when trying to install the Dreamweaver Widget Browser.
Here are some details of my system:
    OS: Vista Ultimate 64bit
    Browser: Firefox 3.6.3
    Dreamweaver CS5
    Adobe Flash 10 installed
    Adobe Download Manager installed
Adobe Air installed (per Control Panel -> Programs & Features)

Thank you for your replies and help.  I followed your instructions and found that I'm running the current version of AIR:
I couldn't find the version via your first instructions.  When I browsed and ran properties on folder 1.0, I was presented with Version folders with different dates, but could find nothing about the current version.
I followed your second set of instructions and was able to browse to the AIR folder and just run the application and browse for the file I downloaded.  It worked like a charm to visually show me the version, (first screen shot above).
I'm wondering if it's because I try to keep my C:Windows drive as bare as possible by installing all of my applications on another hard drive.  This version of AIR is running on my C drive, yet DW & Photoshop CS5 are running on my "E" drive where there is no folder called "Common Files" for AIR versions.
I've run the command line you had suggested as well in order to keep a log file.  I'll pass along the results when I try to install again.

  • Adobe Air on Mac: "Something Went Wrong Trying to Install This Application" Error

I have been reading several posts on this, but nowhere can I find a solution.  Within the past few weeks, I receive this error any time I try to install a new AIR application:
"Something Went Wrong Trying to Install This Application.  Please install the latest version of AIR from.."
Then it gives me the download link.  I've tried reinstalling, but that doesn't fixt the issue.  I'm using OS X 10.6.3- is there ANY way to solve this?

Hi Jason.  Can you post your install log here so we can take a look at what the problem may be?  To see the install log, Open "Console" to view logging.  Then copy and paste the log here.
In the meantime, try to uninstall AIR before reinstalling AIR to see if that fixes the problem.
    Thank you!
