Ahmad,
is the Forms fmx located in a directory that has a blank (gap) in its path name. E.g. "c:\program files" will cause this problem while "c:\programFiles" wont.

  • FRM-90928 error when executing a form

After installing the Oracle 9i Developer suite, I tried to run a simple form for the first time but I keep getting the following error:
"FRM-90928:Position parameter after keyword in the commandline."
Could anybody has any idea on how to fix this. Any help will be appreciated!
    Thanks,
    MS.

Maybe it's because your form is located in a directory with spaces in it, like "d:\trail forms\...."
Try to place the form in a directory without spaces.

I have an error while i run form module. i am using database 9i with 9iDS. Plz help me to resolve this issue.

    Exactly Francois, 100% true.
I've noticed that the Forms Builder tries to run the unsaved forms from the user's default home (root) directory, which almost always in windows environment has spaces in it, like "Documents and Settings\...".

  • Can anyone tell me whar error frm 90928 on forms is?

    hello all:
i try to run forms and an error appear when trying to load the applet.
    the error is:
frm - 90928 positional parameter after key on command line.
and what can i do to solve that error.
    Thanks

I had the same problem when I first installed and ran 9i Developer Suite in Windows XP. I tried an easy tutorial project but kept getting Error 90928 when I tried to "Run Form".
The problem was that I was storing my Forms files under directories with spaces in the name, i.e. My Documents -> Oracle Development ... Forms Builder substituted those whitespaces with the string "%20" in the URL parameter list and this was throwing things off.
I solved the problem by just creating a root directory with no spaces, "C:\OraDev", and I store my .fmb and .fmx files there.
    Hope this helps

  • About Error FRM-90928 on Forms9i

    Hello,
I have created a simple module with the data bloc wizard,i have choiced a simple table(customers),and compiled it succefuly, but when i run it,the error FRM-90928 appears, i don't understand this problem, please give me a solution, thanks.

    Rachid,
as this is you first question on this forum, allow me to give you a hint on how to achieve the best results for your questions:
    1. provide full error messages. E.g FRM-90928 doesn't come by itself but has an associated message that people here on teh list might remember more easily than the error number
    2. always describe context (e.g. Forms version you are running, operation system)
To answer your question: The directory in which you saved teh Forms fmb module obviously has a blank in it like in c:\program files\myforms. This causes the error you mention in your question.
To solve this issue, save the fmb file in a directory that doesn't have blanks in its path, compile it and run it again.
    Hope it helps

Make sure the directory where you store your fmb/fmx files does not contain spaces.
    E.g. replace "c:\my fmx files" with "c:\my_fmx_files"

  • Error FRM-90928:

When I try to Run Form I get this error
Positional parameter after key on command line.

    1. how do I defeat this error
You have a space on your path. For example, are you saving your Form somewhere under "My Documents"? Make sure none of the parameters on the URL have a space.
    2. can't I just connect to my local database, without needing oc4j and forms services
    Oracle9i Forms is web-only. There's no client/server.
    3. what documentation should I be reading to figure all this out myself
All of the doco is free from OTN. You could also have queried this on Metalink.

I'm running windows xp wih the last version of oracle9i for xp with the developer suite 9.2 and when i complie the form i'm beeing told to specified an unknown parameter on the command line.
said i need to check the command line and edit as necessary.

    (i) Make sure you have the OC4J instance running.
(ii) Make sure that the working directory holding the FMX file has no spaces in it's pathname.

  • Err FRM-10095 Databloc Assistent

    1. when I Create a Datablock with this assitent for the table OE.ORDERS the I get this error message. What can I do?
    2. When I Excecute a Form with IE6 then I get follow error message: FRM-90928. What is wrong?

    Rainer,
    1. guess that you try to base a block onto the "Customers" table. This table contains a column "address" that is a PLSQL object Forms does not resolve.
    2. You saved your fmb file - and subsequently compiled teh fmx file - in a directory that contains a blank (e.g. c:\Documents and Settings\rbuhl\temp)

  • Forms Error and How to suppress browswer in forms 9i

    Hi,
I am getting the following Error during the execution of forms 9i:
FRM-90928: Positional Parameter after key on command line
    Why this error come?
It is cumbersome to start OC4J instance everytime when I open and run the forms 9i.
Is there any way that I can run the form 9i without starting explicitly the OC4J instance.
ALso After setting the set separateFrame=true in formsweb.cfg file, I still get the browser for displaying the results. How should I avoid it?Please inform about this.
    Thanks

    Hi,
Actually I just create a simple block using the emp table connecting as a scott and after that When I ran the form I got this message :FRM-90928: Positional Parameter after key on command line.
Regarding forms 9i browser base environment, suppose if we go to deploy the forms 9i based application on client what should we do if client say, we can prefer client/server environment.
Could you please suggest us about it?
Also as we know forms 9i is designed for running on middle tier.So it is ok for large environment. But If there is a small environment and middle tier is not the requiremet, the small no of client connects to the datbase where the database server and all the forms application reside so in that case why we deploy forms application in another server.
    Please inform about it.
    Thanks

  • Forms Error Message

    Hi,
I am using Forms 9i Version 9.0.2.9.0 and Database Oracle 9i Enterprise Edition Release 9.0.1.1.1.
Database and Developer are in the same computer (Windows XP Professional). Folders are ora90 and 9iDSHome respectively. OC4J is running properly. My problems are:
1)After building a form, when I am running it after
compilation, it shows Error FRM-90928 : Positional
parameter after key on command line. I don't know the
reason. Even I have made a control block without any
database item, and when running, it is still showing
    the same message.
2)I don't know how to get Forms Error message or
Database Error messages. In earlier versions of Oracle
there were ways to get these messages, but I could
not get any in Oracle 9i.
Could anybody please help me in this regard?

  • Forms 9i Browser Base

    Hi,
when I run the forms 9i it opens the internet browser and all the results display on it for a particular query.
How should we get the same screen for displaying results on forms 9i as I got in forms 6i? Without using Browser?
Is there other version of forms available which support client-server environment? Which is not obselete.
Also why it is necessary to start the OJ04.. listener in order to run the forms 9i.Earlier there was not such thing in 6i.

  • Ifrun60.exe commandline escape characters

Scenario: Trying to call a form from the right-click context menu of any windows file via windows explorer and pass the form the filepath of that file. The form has a user-defined form parameter (:parameter.filepath) that expects that filepath.
Problem: eveything is working and am in testing phase and have found that a single quote in the filename/path being passed to the form cause the ifrun60.exe to display the error "frm-90928: position paramter after key on commandline".
Reason for problem: it is clear that this error occurs only when there is a single quote " ' " in the command line as below where the %1 is, for example, "john's leave.xls".
    c:\orant\bin\ifrun60.exe module=test.fmx userid=whatever@whereever usesdi=yes FILEPATH="%1"
I understand that this is a result of the fact that the executable treats single quotes as string starters/termintators. I therefore need to dynamically specify to the commandline to ESCAPE single quotes....anyone have any idea how to do this - ideally this would not involve calling a BAT file (for other reasons).
any input would be appreciated. many thanks in advance.

    afraid not.
tried and it fails to bring up form completely. It has to do with ifrun60 interpreting the single quote within the string as a /startterminator, i think therefore that i need to add another single quote next to each individual single quote (this works when done manually)...but it has to be dynamic and in the cmdline itself.....tricky!

    Waseem,
Knowing about FMX's and what the FORMS90_PATH is are pretty basic things you need to know about for Forms. A tutorial is beyond the scope of these forums. I recommend you read the documentation and collateral in the Forms are on OTN: http://otn.oracle.com/products/forms/index.html.
In addition, Oracle also have training eductation classes which you can attend.
