From Adobe Workspace+Flex : ArrayCollection to ArrayList

Hi all
I have created a flex application which sends an ArrayCollection to LCDS 3.1 installed on JBoss. This ArrayCollection is converted into ArrayList which successfuly is converted into Array by a server java program.
The Problem:
I incorporate the flex application into Adobe LC PBM ES 2.5. The first time, I execute the process, the flex application is executed successfuly and the ArrayCollection is converted into ArrayList which is also converted into Array. The second time, I execute the process, an error occurs at the server and the cause is that the java program can not figure the mirror java class on the server. But, if I refresh the Adobe Workspace, we go bakc to sequere one where the flex application is executed successfuly the first time.
Any idea how to over come this issue?
Best regards
Khaled

• Crossdomain.xml issue - Accessing SAP from adobe FLEX

Hi All,
We are in the process of trying to integrate 4 SAP bapis exposed as Web services from adobe flex.
When we do so we are getting a "security error accessing URL"
The URL of our flex application is:
http://10.10.0.48:8081/water0305/iden.html
The WSDL of the web service is:
http://10.10.0.66:8001/sap/bc/srt/rfc/sap/ZKK_BAPI_EQMT_DETAIL?sap-client=800&wsdl=1.1
We looked at various forums and we found that adding a crossdomain.xml file to the root directory
(at the destination server) will resolve the issue.
I did implement all those steps on the R/3 side to add a crossdomain.xml to an ABAP WAS.
crossdomain.xml on WAS
however i still get those errors(security error accessing URL).
Below is the code i use to access the SAP web service
<mx:WebService
id="EqmtDetailWS" showBusyCursor="true" fault="Alert.show(event.fault.faultString)" >
<mx:operation name="EqmtDetail" resultFormat="e4x" result="getEquip_result(event);" fault="getFault(event);">
<mx:request>
<Equipment></Equipment>
</mx:request>
</mx:operation>
</mx:WebService>
We are displaying the SAP info on a map service provided by esri so we included the load operation here.
<-Loading the wsdl->
private
function onExtentChange(event:ExtentEvent):void {
EqmtDetailWS.wsdl=
"http://10.10.0.66:8001/sap/bc/srt/rfc/sap/ZKK_BAPI_EQMT_DETAIL?sap-client=800&wsdl=1.1&sap-user=******&sap-password=****&sap-language=EN&~transaction=iw51";
EqmtDetailWS.loadWSDL();
<Displaying the info from SAP>
private function getEquip_result(event:ResultEvent):void {
equip_desc = event.result.Equitext.Equidescr;
txtAreaEquipDetail.htmlText = txtAreaEquipDetail.htmlText + "Equi. Desc. : " + event.result.Equitext.Equidescr + "\n";
var material:String=event.result.Equimaster.Material;
SAPIDAliasEquipDesc =event.result.Equitext.Equidescr;
material=material.substring(14,18);
txtAreaEquipDetail.htmlText = txtAreaEquipDetail.htmlText + "Material : " + material + "\n";
txtAreaEquipDetail.htmlText = txtAreaEquipDetail.htmlText + "Serial No : " + event.result.Equimaster.Serialno + "\n";
var costcntr:String=event.result.Equilocation.Costcenter;
costcntr=costcntr.substring(7,10);
txtAreaEquipDetail.htmlText = txtAreaEquipDetail.htmlText + "Cost Center : " + costcntr + "\n";
CustomerID = event.result.Equisales.Customer;
This is how we load the policy file.
Security.loadPolicyFile(
http://10.10.0.66:8001/sap/bc/bsp/sap/zroot/crossdomain.xml);
This works fine when we run it from the IDE but throws up an error when we deploy it on the server
So are we missing something ?
Is there anything else to be done to overcome the security issue ?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Karthik.

Hi Rich,
I followed the steps in your video when our system was R/3 4.7 (WAS 6.20) and the test worked fine, i.e. accessing the crossdomain by typing http://server:port/crossdomain.xml.
I followed the same steps with our new version (we're undergoing an upgrade) but I kept getting the error message:
"BSP Exception: the BSP URL /crossdomain.xml Does Not Contain Any Application Entries". Then I saw Ivan post suggesting implementing OSS Note 1260386. I applied the Note but I got the same error message.
Then I ran function ICFBUFFER_INIT to make sure the buffer is cleared, cleared the cache in the browser and still got the same error message.
Our system is ERP 6.0, NetWeaver 7.0, level 17 (BASIS Component is SAPKB70017).
Please help. Thank you.
Achille.

• Problems calling context-sensitive AIRHelp from Adobe Flex App

Hi everyone...
I´m having problems calling context-sesitive AIRHelp from Flex.
I can launch the help from flex using the following code (flex), but allways starts on the default topic.
private function invocarAirHelp(tema:String):void {
var appID:String = "pc1";
var pubID:String = "8C47FDE4638CAF7F210634E52A5F8318D893A57C.1";
var mgr:ProductManager = new ProductManager("airappinstaller");
mgr.launch("-launch " + appID + " " + pubID);
the launch method can recive parameters after the publisherID, but i dont know the parameters that i should give to the method to start the AIRHelp on an specific topic.
I tryed using the parameters as the call was on the command line, ex:
mgr.launch("-launch " + appID + " " + pubID + " -csh mapnumber 12");
but i can get any results... with those parameters the help application doesn´t even start
Anyone have an idea to make this works?
Thanks in advance, Sabin

Hi Sabin,
The only supported way to launch AIR applications from the browser is the air "browser API": http://livedocs.adobe.com/flex/3/html/help.html?content=distributing_apps_3.html#1035834
The browser API uses ProductManager internally and exposes higher-level browser API so that we change the implementation if necessary someday. The browser API will stay the same, even if the interactions through ProductManager (or something else) change.
The browser API (air.swf) has other features that make it the preferred way to launch apps. For instance, it provides accurate information about which platforms support AIR, and can therefore manage install of new apps and of the runtime itself.
Also, if the application is not installed then Browser API will return Error to the flex application, but that does not happen in case of ProductManager.
That said, you can probably use "--" to separate arguments intended for airappinstaller from arguments that should be passed through to the app itself.
mgr.launch("-launch " + appID + " " + pubID + " -- -csh mapnumber 12");

• How to send data one row at a time from xml to flex

I want to setTimerEvent while sending data from xml to flex, one row at a time.
I have attached the xml.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Greg,
Thanks for the reply. You must have seen the xml which i have attached.Here is the .mxml code which i have written:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<mx:Application xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml" layout="absolute" creationComplete="accountData.send()">
<mx:Script>
<![CDATA[
import mx.controls.*;
import mx.rpc.events.FaultEvent;
import mx.rpc.events.ResultEvent;
import mx.collections.ArrayCollection;
[Bindable]
private var AccountInformation:ArrayCollection;
private function AccountHandler(evt:ResultEvent):void
AccountInformation = evt.result.xml.AccInfo;
private function faultHandler(evt:FaultEvent):void
var faultMessage:String = "Could not connect with XML file";
Alert.show(faultMessage, "Error opening file");
]]>
</mx:Script>
<mx:HTTPService id="accountData" url="pgm1.xml" result="AccountHandler(event)" fault="faultHandler(event)" />
<mx:DataGrid x="20" y="24" width="950" dataProvider="{AccountInformation}" />
</mx:Application>
This reads and displays all the rows. But I want to display single row at a time with sometime time gap between the display of two consecutive rows.I am new to flex and this is my first code, so need your help on this.
I hope i have made myself clear. If there is anything else please let me know.
Looking forward to some solution.
Thanks in advance.

• How to access internal table data from webdynpro to Flex application.

Hi Connoisseur
The data transfer from Abap WebDeypro to flex island works well. I followed , there is an example from Thomas Jung (by the way as always Great Work) and Karthikeyan Venkatesan (Infosys) but this example covers simple type only.
There is no example with complex types like arrayCollection which handle the transfer of data from flex to WebDynpro.
i tried to do pass internal table value to flex-datagrid.but its not work.
i would like to know
1.how to access internal table data from webdynpro to Flex application.
2.how to pass the internal table to flex-datagrid.
2.how to pass dynamically in ADOBE flex.
3. how to do Flex is receiving the wd context data?
4. how can we update WD context with FLEX data.
Ple give me sample example and step by step procedure.

• How to move a money value from java to Flex

According to
http://livedocs.adobe.com/flex/2/docs/wwhelp/wwhimpl/common/html/wwhelp.htm?context=LiveDo cs_Parts&file=00001103.html
I can pass a Double, Float, Long, Short, BigDecimal or the primative equivalent types from java to Flex and they will be converted into a number.
My testcase says that only BigDecimal actually shows up on the Flex side.
Am I missing something or is there a problem in BlazeDs/Flex somewhere?
Bill Tims
P.S. If you would like my sample code, I'll be glad to post it.

Pete
After looking at it I see why you were confused. Here is the Java object, the receiving Flex object, and the debug info from the SystemOut.log out of JBos 4.2. All of this is using Java 1.6 and Flex 3.0. I'm using the December, 2008 BlazeDs jar files.
The variable bCd is being serialized as BCd. If I change it to bcd, everything works fine. We also tested this with php->flex and that works fine, which suggests the problem is in Blaze.

• Are form responses removed from Adobe server when deleted by user?

This is a server security question; when form responses are exported to excel, and then deleted from the workspace, do they remain on the Adobe server or are they gone? I need to know this to know the level of security that is applied to the server to determine if we can use Adobe with sensitive information. I understand forms are encrypted when responses are returned, but what happens to the information that is on the server?

• OpenScript ActionScript Error from Adobe Flash Player 9

I get a popup ActionScript Error from Adobe Flash Player 9 when trying to record a Flex Tree object using OpenScript 9.2.1.0 Production. Specifically, I click on the Triangle that opens/closes the view of the child nodes underneath the parent node of a Tree. Initially, the triangle arrow already pointing down and the child node is already showing. When I click on the triangle, the node underneath goes up and disappears under its parent node and the traingle is then pointing to the parent node.
When I click this triangle in Firefox without OpenScript recording, I don't get any errors, popups, or issues. It seems to work correctly. During OpenScript recording, the recording seems to crash with a popup that is titled "Adobe Flash Player 9" and has the text "An ActionScript error has occurred" with the following error message:
Error: Unable to find automation method 'mx.events.TreeEvent' for class '[object OSAutomationClass]'.

I can click "Dismiss All" from the Adobe popup and Firefox isn't affected. Openscript doesn't appear to have any issues and the recording can be continued or stopped. It records the click on the tree and the "Dismiss All" from the popup both as "Click object("@id='main'") as type "web" instead of "flexFT".
I am using OATS 9.2.1.0 with Firefox 3.6.17. I am testing a Flex 3.3 SDK built application. I installed the Adobe Flash Player 9 that came with the Flex SDK 3.3 before installing OATS.
Any help on this issue is greatly appreciated.
Some other information that may prove to be useful: I cannot seem to get OpenScript to consistently play back the actions on the same tree described above. Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not. I've tried using "Select Tree", "Select List", and "Click Tree" and each one is inconsistent on playback. It will report "Target Not Found".
I have the console output for a "Target Not Found" failure below, where line 100 is ".select("GRID1>server1", TriggerEvent.Mouse," from the following Java generated on recording with OpenScript:
flexFT
.list(

I have the console output for a "Target Not Found" failure below, where line 100 is ".select("GRID1>server1", TriggerEvent.Mouse," from the following Java generated on recording with OpenScript:
flexFT
.list(
15,
"/web:window[@index='0' or @title='My Title']/web:document[@index='0']/flex:application[@automationIndex='index:-1' and @label='' and @className='main' and @automationName='main' and @automationClassName='FlexApplication' and @id='main']/flex:canvas[@automationIndex='index:1' and @label='' and @className='mx.containers.Canvas' and @automationName='mainCanvas' and @automationClassName='FlexCanvas' and @id='mainCanvas']/flex:dividedBox[@automationIndex='index:16' and @label='' and @className='view.MainMediator' and @automationName='mediator' and @automationClassName='FlexDividedBox' and @id='mediator']/flex:accordion[@label='' and @automationName='index:0' and @id='null' and @automationIndex='index:0' and @className='mx.containers.Accordion' and @automationClassName='FlexAccordion']/flex:canvas[@automationIndex='index:1' and @label='My%20View2' and @className='view.my.MyNavigator' and @automationName='My%20View2' and @automationClassName='FlexCanvas' and @id='null']/flex:canvas[@label='' and @automationName='index:1' and @id='null' and @automationIndex='index:1' and @className='mx.containers.Canvas' and @automationClassName='FlexCanvas']/flex:list[@automationIndex='index:2' and @className='view.MyGridTree' and @automationName='index:2' and @automationClassName='FlexList' and @id='null']")

• When will Acrobat Professional XI save files to the new Adobe Workspaces?

Here is the dilemma and I can't believe Adobe has not addressed this...
The product Adobe Acrobat Professional XI saves to the cloud. But the location that it saves to is files.acrobat.com (Which you have to comb the Internet or forums to find this out by the way). When a user goes to Acrobat.com, Adobe tells them that we are now Adobe Workspaces with all the features, etc. and tells us to go there instead, but the FLAGSHIP PRODUCT -- ADOBE ACROBAT PRO XI saves to the old supposedly obsolete Acrobat.com - What am I missing here?
Is there a plan to start saving from Acrobat Professional XI to Adobe Workspaces?? What do we do when Adobe shuts down Acrobat.com???? Why is this not addressed anywhere??? What's the plan???

Hi WarithNiallah,
This behaviour is as designed.
Acrobat.com - Personal File Storage is a free service that is integrated with Adobe Acrobat XI software, which was first released in October of 2012. This service lets you store documents online and access them from computers and mobile devices.
Acrobat.com - Workspaces is the original (legacy) Acrobat.com service, offering a team workspace with up to 2GB of storage, an online word processor, and an online table tool. It can also be used to host shared PDF document reviews invoked through menu choices in Adobe Acrobat software. These services are available for free.

• How do I access my adobe workspace files with my ipad?

How do I access my adobe workspace with my ipad? I've logged in through my reader app and it tells me there are no documents at acrobat.com.

Hi billy hughes,
You should be able to log in directly to the service at https://cloud.acrobat.com/exportpdf. (Otherwise, you can access it via the Tools pane in the free Adobe Reader. What happens when you try to use the service. Are you getting errors? Or are you unable to log in?
I look forward to hearing back from you--we'll get this sorted out!
Best,
Sara

• External JS from AIR with Flex?

Hi,
I wonder if this is possible. I have a AIR application built
using Flex, I would like to apply syntax highlight within the flex
application - but my actionscript experience is very limited.
My question:
I've used JavaScript syntax highlighting scripts before
(shjs) - I would like to use this package inside my Flex
application. Is this possible, can I load and use external
JavaScript files inside Flex/Air apps?
I see this can be done using Flex in a Browser (flex without
AIR) with the 'ExternalInterface API' - is this currently available
for AIR or is there any other method available to do this?
To me this is a huge factor for the success of Flex inside
AIR. I have a huge range of JavaScript libraries I've built over
the years, it would really suck if I had to rewrite everything in
ActionScript.
Any ideas??

Hi,
With AIR, you don't need to worry or think about
ExternalInterface. AIR comes in built with webkit. Just use the
mx:HTML control to load your html page containing the javascript
and you will be able to make JS calls from your Flex side.
But do note that there are limitations to what sort of JS can
be run within the HTML control. Especially around "eval". Take a
look at

Is this still going on?

If so, I'm planning on getting a group of the SeaFlex User Group developers together for a Flex Bug Bash.

Yeah, let’s stick with the commenting in the bug right now. Long-term we can take a look into allowing actual assignment via some sort of automatic system. Short-term maybe leave the comment, and then if you want, maybe the organizer of the squash event can post to the forums the list of bugs they want reserved and we can assign them in bulk to the organizer?
Don’t forget that in order to have your patches submitted we’ll need the contributor agreement. You can ask attendees to submit in advance or you could maybe bring printouts of page 2 (since that’s the signature page for most folks) and have them sign and then you could scan and email them to us in bulk. Or the organizer (or delegate) could even hog all the glory and submit for everyone? Or finally, folks can do the work and have it ready, then just wait for us to get their contrib agreement approved and do the actual submission later.
Don’t forget that the email address on the agreement needs to match with the email address we have for you in JIRA.

I think the current way to do this is to just comment that you are working on this issue/bug/feature. It'd be really nice if the "Community Candidate" bugs could be assigned to members of the community.
One step at a time though. I think this is a really cool idea.

• Problem in load data from XML in Flex 4

Hi Everyone,
I tried all the possible ways which ever i know to load the data from XML to Flash Builder (Flex 4). Actually i want to load the data from XML to Datagrid. The project is executed without any error and warnings but the data is not loaded into datagrid. i will paste the coding below if anyone know the solution please let me know. Waiting for reply.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<s:Application xmlns:fx="http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009"
xmlns:s="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark"
xmlns:mx="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/mx" minWidth="955" minHeight="600" creationComplete="userRequest.send(); ">
<fx:Declarations>
<s:HTTPService id="userRequest" url="xdata.xml" useProxy="false" resultFormat="e4x" />
</fx:Declarations>
<mx:DataGrid id="dgUserRequest" x="20" y="160" dataProvider="{userRequest.lastResult.user}" >
<mx:columns>
<mx:DataGridColumn headerText="User ID" dataField="id"/>
<mx:DataGridColumn headerText="User Name" dataField="name"/>
</mx:columns>
</mx:DataGrid>
</s:Application>

It is better to add result handler to the HttpService and debug to see the actual structure of the xml.

• Printing document from adobe.

I have not been able to print from adobe as I do not get the print option when I am in adobe viewing the document. How do I print my document.
Thanks,
Jacquelyn Young?

Ok, took the bait.
Went to USPS, did the Track and Confirm for the item number you provided.
Viewed details, click the print button, sent to Adobe PDF printer.
Less than 10 seconds passed.
Had a PDF.
OS: Vista; Acrobat: 9.x Extended; Browser MSIE 8
Box (a laptop) is a bit pumped up so as to be a comfy abode for Adobe's TCS, Flex, and a CAD program but certainly not something cutting edge like a high end gamer box.
Just my natter; but, I'm guessing other variables are in play on your box.
As to feature requests or bug reports - If you have either 'passing it forward' would be a good thing (for all of us end-users out here).

• Ink usage for same colors but sent from different workspaces

Let's say I print green (0,255,0) from Adobe RGB with a printer profile. Then I convert it to ProPhoto RGB (same green is now 76,230,60 in ProPhoto) and print it with the same printer profile. Do inkjet printers use the same ink combination for printing same green but sent from different workspaces?

Ok, it's obvious, forget about it.
Another question: Can we know that RGB printer profiles use which RGB color space for converting from the workspace?
