Hi,
The migration cannot be done directly, as the structures are quite different in BCS and BPC. I would request you to go through the Application help available on SAP Marketplace. This guide will give you some insights on the various business rules which are used for doing the consolidation. In addition to this, BPC 340 will give you a good understanding of configuring consolidation on BPC on NW platform.

Error loading data from BW to BPC with standard package

Hi experts,
A big part of our solution is pulling actuals from BW into BPC. To do so we use the standard SAP package "Load InfoProvider Selections" which calls the process chain /CPMB/LOAD_INFOPROV_UI.
We have migrated our environment to BPC 10 and tried to run this process and are now getting the following error:
“ Task name CONVERT:
No 1 Round:
An exception with the type CX_ST_MATCH_ELEMENT occurred, but
was neither handled locally, nor declared in a RAISING clause
System expected element 'Selections' ”
We have tested and this is happening with all data loading packages. It appears as though it is expecting a "selection" parameter, but selections have definitely been made. Has anyone encountered a similar issue or have any idea how to resolve it?

Issue while loading master data from BI7 to BPC

Dear Experts,
I'm trying to load master data from BI7 to BPC NW using scenario 2 mentioned in the below document.

My requirement is need to load 0GL_ACCOUNT attribute and text data from BI7 system to BPC.
1.As mentioned in the How to...doc I had created a dimension called GL_ACCOUNT using BPC Admin client .
2.Able to see GL_ACCOUNT in RSA1, when I try to create a Transformation(step 17 , page-40) to load Attribute data I could not find source of transformation object as 0GL_ACCOUNT(which exist in BI7) . I could only able to see only dimensions available in BPC system when I click F4 in Name.
What could be the reason to not getting BI infoobject as source in BPC?

Dear Gurus,
My issue got resolved. So far I'm trying to pull data from R/3>BW>BPC. In the existing land scape BW and BPC are 2 different boxes. That is the reason I couldn't able to see BW objects into BPC (since 2 are different boxes). To resolve the issue I have created a new infoobect (RSD1) in BPC and data loading is from R/3>BPC infoobject(which is created through RSD1)>BPC Dimension.

Issue while loading master data from BI to BPC

Dear All,
I am loading master data from BI to BPC using the process chain /CPMB/IMPORT_IOBJ_MASTER. I ran the package and package status was success. But few member ID's which are available in BI are not getting loaded in BPC. Nearly I have 1300 ID's in BI. Out of 1300,only 1270 ID's are loaded in BPC.
I haven't restrict any ID's using conversion file as well.
What could be the reason? How can I overcome this and load all member's ID in BPC?

Whats the write mode you have chosen for the CPMB/IMPORT_IOBJ_MASTER chain ?
Check if you have the Update mode ..

Unexpected query results during large data loads from BCS into BI Cube

Gurus
We have had an issue occur twice in the last few months but its causing our business partners a hard point. When they send a large load of data from BCS to the real time BI Cube the queries are showing unexpected results. We have the queries enabled to report on yellow requests and that works fine it seems the issue occurs as the system is processing the closing of the request and opening the next request. Has anyone encountered this issue if so how did you fix it?

There is not enough information to judge. BI queries in BCS may use different structure of real-time, basic, virtual cubes and multiproviders:

In your case, most likely, you have a bad design of the reporting structures.

Data from SAP into BPC

What is the best way to get data from SAP into BPC?What about getting data from BPC (like a template) into back into SAP?

Please find here the steps you should do
Step#1: In SAP With the help of ABAP program update data into a table.
Step#2: In regular interval pull data from SAP table to BPC staging tables in SQL server.
Step#3: Run import data manager package to update FACT tables from BPC staging tables on demand.
This is the best way and best approach to pull data from SAP to BPC.

How to load master data hierarchy load from BI to BPC 7.5 NW

I am testing master data hierarchy data upload from BI to BPC. However when i run master data hierarchy mport package, it's always displaying a warning message saying that no records are returned from "Z_PFT_CTR" which is my info object name.
My transformation is as below.

Transaction data from BI TO BPC : cube error

We are trying to load transaction data from BI to BPC ,now my requirement is does it possible to bring transaction data from BI Mulitprovider or SIMPLE Mulitprovider.
While we are loading the data from Multiprovider we are finding the following Error:

Option 1 -
ECC -> BW -> BPC NW (Standard, or recommended for NW)
Option 2
ECC -> BW -> Openhub / Flat file -> BPC MS
This is more common for SAP customers, who are using BW, but running MS version
Option 3
ECC -> ABAP Extractor Program (generated flat file) -> BPC
Again a more common for SAP customers using BPC MS

How to pass selection filters to logic and extract data from BI to BPC

Hi everybody. I checked the forum and I found and tried some solutions but not matching my main aim.
Scenario:
In the input schedule I have a button which runs a data package to upload datas into BPC, coming from a BI cube.
The pushbutton menu is ok. I tried also a solution suggested on the blogs and I can upload all transaction datas from BI to BPC successfully.
But when I run the data load, I want to take from the BI cube ONLY the datas matching the CVW selected, not all the datas from the BI cube. Second needing is to upload during the run 2 keyfigures from BI to BPC with same selection filter.
Example:
- I select in the Current view ENTITY: ACME and CATEGORY: CON
- I want to upload the 0AMOUNT and 0QUANTITY from the BI cube to BPC of the 0COMPANY "ACME" and the 0VERSION: "CON"
As I understand I can put in the Options of my transformation file using SELECTION , something to filter the datas, but I want that this is dependent from the current view selection. No extra prompts, and to upload the 2 keyfigures in the same process.
Any idea is welcome.

thanks for the answer, but my situation is little bit different.
I don't want to ask again with prompt to choose my ENTITY to the user, because I have on the main Input schedule, a menu button to choose ENTITY and so the user will just choose once.
I also understood that the variables selected with the current view, can be found inside DEFAULT logic with [dimension].Currentmember, but I do not work with default logic. I have my own ZLOGIC, and during the call I would like to pass the ENTITY choosen by the user to the logic. In this way when I run my transformation to upload data from a BI cube to BPC cube, I only select a slice of datas, not all the datas in the cube. In short, if I can manage the [DIMENSION].CURRENTMEMBER I will only take from the BI cube the datas I want. As I know if in the TRASFORMATION OPTIONS, in SELECTION if I pass some datas, like ENTITY = ACME I upload to BPC only BI datas of company ACME.....
So, I would like to do something like this.

Data upload from R3 to BPC using filters

We are facing a performance issue on the uploading data flow from R3 to BPC. Two steps have been set up.
Step1: R/3 --> ODS --> BW CUBE (No filters and full mode)
Step2: BW CUBE --> BPC CUBE (Standard BW upload package)
The first one (from R3 to a BW Cube) has no filters, so it loads every data and it takes too much time. However, the second one (from the Cube to BPC) has filtering options, so we can only load the data we need to (we usually use entity and time filters).
Both are executed from the BPC DataManager.
Any advice to improve the performance of the first step? Could we join the step 1 and step 2 and get the filters from the standard BW upload process using a custom process chain?
Does anybody have any experience using filters to reduce the amount of records on the data uploading from R/3 to BPC?

**I'm not quite sure how you are getting the above data from infocube.Are you directly loading data from PSA to infocube with out loading data into DSO -0FIGL_O10(General ledger(New):Transaction figures) ?
To get required format of following data, no need to do any thing while laoding the data into BPC. Your BI infocube should maitain the data in below format.
GroupAcc - Date - Balance
100000 - 12.12.10 - 100 - (LC)
100000 - 12.12.10 - 100 - (TC)
100000 - 12.12.10 - 200 - (GC)
To acheive above format of data in the infocube please follow standard way of data flow given by SAP in BI Contect(http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp1/helpdata/en/e6/f16940c3c7bf49e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm).
Flow should be
R/3 --> PSA --> DSO -->Infocube.
In this flow its important to remember about infoobect 0CURKEY_TC in DSO.
This is always the currency key of the transaction currency; it is also filled for records with a different currency type. Without this key field, postings with different transaction currencies would be overwritten after summarization and thereby be lost.

Once you follow the standard flow, your infocube contains the requried format (LC,TC and GC )of data to load it into BPC application.

AFAIK, data is stored in BCS periodically. So, do you imply that it's possible to create cash flow for any set of data in the system (because of periodicity)?
Talk about ttypes and breakdown categories are also not very clear for me.
Anyway, I'd like to talk functional, not SAP (or some other IT) language.
Here we go.
Did you say that you used to create the cash flow report on the fly, by using some calculations in BEx?
And the same for eliminations in cash flow?
Did you do eliminations in CF?
If yes, then I would suggest that you were lucky, having local and group currency the same, USD?
As BCS consultant knows, the indirect cash flow report consists of 3 parts: net cash flows from operating activities, finance and investing ones.
NCF from operating activities is usually calculated as net profit (before or after taxes) with some corrections that are calculated as differences in reported-beginning balances on some accounts. Would you calculate them in local or group currency? Taking into account that there might be no real movement in cash (local currency), but currency rate has changed?
Financial & investing activities MUST BE PROVIDED in direct sense, like: dividends received, interests paid for credits and loans etc. There is, usually, no such information, only some netted activities. You need to get them additionally. How did you get them?
So, the main question is:
how would you calculate the CONSOLIDATED INDIRECT cash flow report
having different local currencies (and a different group currency), with some intergroup activities?
Everybody will appreciate your input on this subject.

Lost access to office (excel, word) from launchpage in BPC

Hi,
a couple of days ago 4 out of 5 users lost access to officetools (lost the buttons for excel, word and ppt) from launchpage in BPC 5.1, SP3. BPC is installed on 3 different citrix-servers and locally on a number of PC's. All PC-user have all access on their local client on their PC's. 4 out 5 user (administrators) can not get acces to excel from BPC using serverclient on 2 out of 3 servers. 1 out of 5 users can access office from BPC on all 3 servers. It all happend a week ago and we haven't been able to solve the problem.
Do anyone have a solution?

Please try any of the following :
Issue can be resolved by checking Bypass Proxy server for local addresses under the Internet Explorer settings.
Internet Explorer>Tools>Internet Options>Connections>LAN settings.
The IP address of the OutlookSoft server was also added to the Exception list.
OR
Users cannot log into OutlookSoft for Excel after applying a Microsoft Update.
Machines that have applied these updates are no longer able to log in to OutlookSoft for Excel via the toolbar.
The Logon button appears however nothing happens when you press it. The toolbar flickers but OutlookSoft for Excel doesn't open.
Unless you manually enabled the ev4Excel.xla add-in you won't able to log into OutlookSoft for Excel, but once you're logged in you won't able to log out short of control-alt-del.
Solution:: The issue is caused by KB921503, which is described as MS07-043: Vulnerability in OLE Automation could allow remote code execution.
Once we removed this hotfix, the module worked again.

In some cases, removing the hotfix does not work.
The Logon button for PowerPoint and Word does load correctly. This appears to only affect OutlookSoft for Excel.
This affects 100% of the PC that applied the Windows update.

Loading key and/or description from BW into BPC

Dear all,
We have the requirement to load master data from BW into BPC 10 NW (SP4) and are facing some difficulties.
Depending on the property, we want to do the following:
- Load the attribute key into BPC property
- Load the attribute description into BPC property
- Load both concatenated using an underscore into BPC property
The loading process as such works and the concatenation would aswell, but so far I'm only able to load the keys into BPC. In the BW table I can see that the attribute has both a key and a description but I don't know how to select the description in BPC (either through transformation file, set selection, ...). Is there a standard functionality to select between a key and a description in BPC 10 or do I have to ask the BW-team to make an additional attribute with the description as a key?
Same goes for loading the member ID's and member descriptions for a specific dimension. There we want to fill the member ID in BPC with the BW description and use another BW description to fill the member description in BPC.
Any advice/input would be greatly appreciated!

I have the same problem and I don't know how to solve it.
While loading master data into BPC InfoObjects (or as called in BPC jargon "Dimensions") I found out, that it is possible to load the Attribute ID's relatetd to the InfoObject, while it is not possible to load the corresponding descriptions.
Actually I cant help you with my post. But atrouble shared is a trouble halfed
I would be pleased if somebody could offer any solution to this problem
