From PLSQL Package to Webservice deployed on Tomcat
Just wondered if anybody done this before, because then so can i.... ;)
Has anybody made a Webservice in Jdeveloper from a PLSQL Package and deployed it successfully on a Tomcat webserver? (no matter what version of Tomcat)
Hi Ratnam ,
Qucik question :
What is the error you are getting ?
Did you get through the URL (https://blogs.oracle.com/dana/entry/how_to_deploy_a_11g_adf_applic_1 ) that you only have posted ? Basically the thing is your tomcat server should have necessary libraries before even you attempt deployment.
thanks,
Subhendu

Hi,
I have to create HTML table with PLSQL variable as row entry from PLSQL package and send this as email.
Do we have any oracle package to send html email with Html code as Varchar from PLSQL package? Please provide me some example
Thanks

Urgent - Error calling web service generated from plsql package
Hi,
I am using Jdeveloper 10.1.3 production release.
I am trying to publish a plsql packaged procedure as a web service.
My first question is -
When I am publishing the plsql API as a WS, should I choose the style Document/Wrapped or RPC Literal? Document Wrapped is the default in the wizard.
My second question - Depending on whether I choose Document/Wrapped or RPC Literal style, I get 2 different errors when I try to run the client java file (generated by Jdeveloper) that calls the web service. The client java compiles successfully but when I run I get these messages:
Document/Wrapped error -

Now all the classes are generated by JDeveloper automatically from the plsql API. So I am not sure why the errors occur and how to fix these.
Also, these errors are occurring on plsql APIs that have input or output parameters of plsql record type or pslql table of record type. These errors don't occur if the api is simple with scalar input or output parameters only.
I would appreciate any help on how to resolve these errors.
Thanks,
RajiHi,
I'm wondering if the problem is actually that the client is failing to connect to the server correctly. Can I suggest that you switch on the HTTP Analyzer and see what comes back there.
Is it possible it is a proxy problem? If you are working locally then I first suggest that you ensure that the Web Browser Proxy is off (see Tools -> Preferences -> Web Browser Proxy) - and that there are no exceptions listed (either with the proxy on or off) before you start the HTTP Analyzer.
As to Doc/Wrapped or RPC. see this blog entry for a little more explanation:

Exposing plsql Packages as webservices using JDeveloper
Hi folks,
I'm using Jdeveloper to publish database package/ procedures as webservices.These procedures use objects types as parameters (Varchar2's). I can generate the webservices (by the JDeveloper wizard), the WSDL file is generated;
Question is about the required and optional fields. In my procedure declaration I defined the input as Varchar2 and also defined a default
Procedure p ( p_var IN VARCHAR2 Default NULL) AS
BEGIN
NULL;
END;
But when I deploy this package as webservice (via jdeveloper) to our weblogic server, and run a test, I get errors related to required fields if I don't pass in any value.
Invalid input arguments for the following fields: p_var value required
How would I change this behavior ? I made the procedures to accept default parameters ( even when no value is passed I would want my code to run)
Thanks in advance,
PrashanthThanks Timo !
Found out to be an issue with Oracle Fusion Middleware control (http://<hostname>:<port>/em ) validating for required Inputs, but when tested with SOAP UI or Web logic Test Client (http://<hostname>:<port>/wls_utc) it works as expected. Reported the issue to Oracle Support and the problem has been reproduced there.

Publish PLSQL Package as webservice using Jdeveloper
Hi All,
I have developed an PLSQL package that select records based on search criteria. I want to publish this as an web service. I have published another PLSQL package that inserts to a table as a web service, which is working fine(Using Jdeveloper and SOA Suite(Application Server)). I am getting error as "cannot create target" when i published as a web service for select.
Procedure has 4 IN Parameters and 4 OUT Parameters in which one of the OUT Parameter is of table type. When i click invoke button the error details are as follows
<env:Envelope
xmlns:env="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
<env:Header/>
<env:Body>
<env:Fault
xmlns:env="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
<faultcode>env:Server</faultcode>
<faultstring>Error creating target: hr.Select_Employee_Records_V1User</faultstring>
<faultactor/>
</env:Fault>
</env:Body>
</env:Envelope>
Please suggest me how to proceed further
Thanks and Regards,
Mahesh
Edited by: MAH on Nov 2, 2008 10:33 PMHave you tried using the DB adapter for stored procedures? Is your "record" type a PL/SQL record type? Or is it a SQL object type? If it's the former then the adapter will automatically generate corresponding object types. A package is also generated that contains a wrapper API for your original procedure. The package also includes conversions to convert between the record and the object types. If it's the latter, then the adapter does nothing special as it can handle object types. Once deployed, your API will be executed with an included instance XML for the inbound parameters. XML will be generated containing values of outbound parameters. In your case, if the data type is a PL/SQL record, the problem may be that record is not a supported data type.

Refresh AW data from PLSQL package
Hi,
I have a question about refreshing AW.
I use by AWM generated maintain script.
I try to do it from PLSQL.
(Oracle version 10.2....)
questions :
1) Why I can't catch any exception in my code?
2) The execution of the DBMS_AW.execute is not synchronized,
it means my function returns,
but XML_LOAD_LOG is still running.
3) Which meaning have xml attributes as "TrackStatus", "MaxJobQueues" etc...
4) Can I take influence on executing by changing those attributes?
Thanks to all who can give me more Information.
here is the example function code (I'm happy to share it):
FUNCTION refresh_aw(aw_owner_name VARCHAR2, awname VARCHAR2) RETURN PLS_INTEGER
AS
erm VARCHAR2(200);
erc VARCHAR2(10);
alone NUMBER := 0;
msg VARCHAR2(200);
curr_procedure VARCHAR2(30) := 'refresh_aw';
aw_command VARCHAR2(1000) := NULL;
xml_clob clob;
xml_str varchar2(4000);
strl NUMBER := 0;
res PLS_INTEGER := 0;
BEGIN
/* delete all dimensions data before refreshing */
res := delete_aw_dim(aw_owner_name, awname);
IF res = failure_flag THEN
RETURN failure_flag;
END IF;
BEGIN
aw_command := 'aw detach ' || aw_owner_name || '.' || awname;
DBMS_AW.execute(aw_command);
EXCEPTION WHEN OTHERS THEN NULL;
END;
/* write xml for all dimensions */
DBMS_LOB.CREATETEMPORARY(xml_clob,TRUE);
dbms_lob.open(xml_clob, DBMS_LOB.LOB_READWRITE);
xml_str := ' <BuildDatabase Id="Action2" AWName="' || aw_owner_name || '.' || awname || '" BuildType="EXECUTE" RunSolve="true" CleanMeasures="true" CleanAttrs="true" CleanDim="true" TrackStatus="false" MaxJobQueues="1">';
SELECT LENGTH(xml_str) INTO strl FROM DUAL;
dbms_lob.writeappend(xml_clob, strl, xml_str);
FOR dimenzija IN (SELECT d.AW_OWNER
, d.AW_NAME
, d.AW_LOGICAL_NAME
FROM ALL_OLAP2_AW_DIMENSIONS d
WHERE UPPER(d.AW_OWNER) = UPPER(aw_owner_name)
AND UPPER(d.AW_NAME) = UPPER(awname) )
LOOP
xml_str := ' <BuildList XMLIDref="' || dimenzija.AW_LOGICAL_NAME ||'.DIMENSION" />';
SELECT LENGTH(xml_str) INTO strl FROM DUAL;
dbms_lob.writeappend(xml_clob, strl, xml_str);
END LOOP;
/* now write xml for all cubes */
FOR kube IN (SELECT k.AW_OWNER
, k.AW_NAME
, k.AW_LOGICAL_NAME
FROM ALL_OLAP2_AW_CUBES k
WHERE UPPER(k.AW_OWNER) = UPPER(aw_owner_name)
AND UPPER(k.AW_NAME) = UPPER(awname) )
LOOP
xml_str := ' <BuildList XMLIDref="' || kube.AW_LOGICAL_NAME ||'.CUBE" />';
SELECT LENGTH(xml_str) INTO strl FROM DUAL;
dbms_lob.writeappend(xml_clob, strl, xml_str);
END LOOP;
xml_str := ' </BuildDatabase>';
SELECT LENGTH(xml_str) INTO strl FROM DUAL;
dbms_lob.writeappend(xml_clob, strl, xml_str);
dbms_lob.close(xml_clob);
xml_str := dbms_aw_xml.execute(xml_clob);
dbms_lob.freetemporary(xml_clob);
RETURN success_flag;
EXCEPTION
WHEN OTHERS THEN
erm := SQLERRM;
erc := TO_CHAR(SQLCODE);
DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE('error: ' || erm);
RETURN failure_flag;
END refresh_aw;These are my thoughts on your questions
1) Why I can't catch any exception in my code? - try the following before executing the AW build procedure:
set serveroutput on size 1000000
exec cwm2_olap_manager.set_echo_on;
2) The execution of the DBMS_AW.execute is not synchronized, it means my function returns, but XML_LOAD_LOG is still running - There are two ways to execute code, in background which releases the calling interface straight away or immediate where the interface is locked until the build completes. The property BuildType controls this feature:
BuildType="BACKGOUND"
BuildType="EXECUTE"
3) Which meaning have xml attributes as "TrackStatus", "MaxJobQueues" etc...
Not sure about TrackStatus, the Java doc is not really helpful but it provides the following:
Specifies whether to track the loading of data into the analytic workspace. To track the status of the data load, specify true as the input value. To not track the status, specify false.
Clear as mud to me. I will have to test this on my laptop. Max job queues manages the number of parallel jobs used during the build process. You need to have use partitioning on your cube to get the most from this feature and ideally you should have multiple CPUs as well.
You can get more information from the Java doc :
http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/olap.102/b14351/toc.htm
refer to the BuildDatabase class.
4) Can I take influence on executing by changing those attributes? - Yes, but be careful because the length of the text string has to be tracked and passed to calling program. The code should look something like this:
dbms_lob.writeappend(xml_clob, 185, ' <BuildDatabase
Id="Action2" AWName="GSW_AW.GSW_AW" Buil
dType="EXECUTE" RunSolve="true" CleanMeasures="false"
CleanAttrs="false" CleanDim="false" TrackStatu
s="false" MaxJobQueues="0">');
where the number 185 refers to the number of characters inserted into the XML_CLOB
Hope this helps.

Use the PLSQL PACKAGE in WEBSERVICE
Hi
in ordre to have de adventage of the new technologie and don't loos the PLSQL PACKAGDE
please give me^proposition to rewrite those PACKAGE in JAVA
Thank's
DAHANE Miloud
AlgeriaUsing JDev11g you can generate pl/sql packaged based web services. Goto database navigator, connect to a database, explore your pl/sql package and right click and press "Publish as Web Service".
This generates all the requried java classes.
Goto your model project, right click on the new web service and click Test Webservice.
It generates WSDL file for you.
Using this wsdl, you can create web services data control.
Using this data control you can easily generate adf table in your jsf page.
Let me know if you have any questions. -
How can i disply the error in my forms which occurs from plsql package
Dear all
i am using 10g forms.
i have a package and in the pkg i am reading data from flat file using UTL_FILE and comparing with what user input in the form .
If that does not match then it is raising errors . but how can i display those errors in my forms .
Let say in my PKG The error is "Account no does not match " . this error message i wnat to show in my Forms .
For the error i have created one block :error.err_dtl.
I want to show here in :error.err_dtl.Hello,
Several solutions:
You can write a procedure or a function in that package that returns a Boolean and/or an error message.
You can also, in your package, raise the RAISE_APPLICATION_ERROR(), then trap this error in the Forms calling code, via the DBMS_ERROR_CODE and DBMS_ERROR_TEXT variables.

Problem invoking from a BPEL process webservice client
I have a BPEL Synchronous process that invokes a webservice deployed on Tomcat. The process executes without any exception when I run it from the BPEL Console. Since I want to execute the BPEL process as a command line operation, I created a BPEL Process Webservice client from scratch using Axis as described in Tutorial7 - InvokingBPELProcesses.pdf. However when I try to execute the client, I get the following error:

Using ant to build and deploy plsql packages to a 11g wls.
Hi all,
Not sure is this is the right place, but I found a few other threads in this forum regarding plsql and ant, so I'll try this one.
My firm is moving from 10g ADF applcations to 11g SOA applications. When I'm not busy being lost in the whole new SOA world, I also have the pleasure of building our ant scripts. :-)
It has been years since I looked at the deploy scripts I made for 10g, so I'm a bit rusty.
I used wsassemble in our old scripts and I used http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B25221_05/web.1013/b14434/wsassemble.htm as a reference. But I can't seem to find the same documentation for 11g? I tried http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/index.htm but it doesn't seem to have anything about plsqlAssemble, genInterface, genproxy etc. for 11g wls servers? I also tried google a while to no avail.
For example, I'm having problems setting the values for the ant-oracle.properties.
So can someone please throw some links my way, so I can read how to build and deploy plsql packages to a 11g wls server using ant? Thanks!
Cheers,
WilliamHi,
Did you ever find an answer to this question ?
I am currently creating the webservice using webservices assembler from 10g/OC4j, then using the SmartUpgrade tool to re-engineer the webservice for deployment to 11g
( SmartUpgrade info here http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E16764_01/doc.1111/e15878/intro.htm)

Check the following:
* Whether the Report is locked in the server.
* Are the parameters you pass from the form to report have the similar data types.
Hope your problem is fixed.

Hi,
I have a requirement of calling BI webservices from Plsql stored procedure. I generated all my wsdl java classes and loaded them into the database. However, when I tried to call one of my java class using stored procedure, it is giving me"ORA-29532: Java call terminated by uncaught Java exception: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError".
*Cause: A Java exception or error was signaled and could not be
resolved by the Java code.
*Action: Modify Java code, if this behavior is not intended.
But all my dependency classes are present in database as java class objects and are valid. Can some one help me out of this?Stiphane,
You can look in USER_ERRORS to see if there's anything more specific reported by the compiler. But, it could also be the case that everything's OK (oddly enough). I loaded the JavaMail API in an 8.1.6 database and also got bytecode verifier errors, but it ran fine. Here are the errors I got when loading Sun's activation.jar, which ended up not being a problem:
