Frusterated with huge bills and no help

So last week I went into Verizon to get my tablet fixed. I ended up getting convinced to get a second tablet for my husband and upgrade my data to 4 gigs with a promotional deal. I was told one of my activation fees (for my husband's cell phone) would be removed. My monthly bill is supposed to be 150 plus tax with all my new stuff. I expect to pay about 180 plus tax with the one activation fee (for the new tablet). I am now getting an email saying that with my new plan next month will cost me around 239 before taxes and other fees. I am a student on a budget who always pays her bills on time. This is the second time this has happened. The rep I purchased this from told me to call her work number or text when my bill came if I had questions. I left her a voicemail and sent two texts but heard nothing. I love my devices but I am feeling ignored and cheated out of money :(

Take back the tablet and pay the restocking fee.  Cheaper in the long run. 
How much data did you have before for what cost?   How much was promised rate for 4 GB?

    Hi, I hope someone from BT will pick this up as I am disgusted with the service, I have tried to complain via India, but I either get " the Manager is not available", "someone will call you back" (never do) or put through to a line that never picks up.
    This Started back in June 2012, my parents were moving from their house in Chichester to live near us in Purley. Brand new flat in block of 12 flats (there is one other resident in the block).  My parents were with TalkTalk, so they arranged with TT for a line and Broadband to be installed at the new flat when they moved in, an appointment made for 28th August 2012. Didn't show, chased TT never got a proper answer and no update.  Cancelled the TT request.
    Ordered line and Broadband through BT on 4th September 2012, with first engineer date of 2nd October 2012. Didn't show, spoke to BT and was told that it would be remade for 24th Oct 2012. Engineer did come but found that although the block was wired for connection, from the flat to the basement (where a terminal block was housed) the cable to the BT network only had 2 lines. (How the original Openreach engineer thought a block of 12 flats with a lift only needed 2 lines is beyond me).
    Told by BT that a new appointment would be made for November, no show, then 18th December, no show, then 15th January.  In all these calls I feel I have been as civil as possible with people in India, I had been thinking that it was not really their fault, but I must say they are not trustworthy or helpful. I presume they are penalised in some way for not being able to deal with a call and having to pass to a manager or deal with a complaint, because they basically won't pass on a complaint.
    I have even spoken to the Council road works depatment, because I was told that Openreach would need to have traffic signalling to lay the new cable, but the council say they have never heard from openreach about it.
    In preparation for the 15th January I called yesterday and was told to my utter amazement that the order had been cancelled!. I asked who by and was told by us! When I said when they told me September? Again the lady in India (namerd Lucky) said she would take personal responsibility for resolving the issue and would call back in 24 hours (checked they would ring on Saturady). No call, rang again on 4 occasions today, getting nowhere, last call said can't do anything because there is not an order active.
    I will have to go to a BT office and ask to complain to someone directly.
    90 year old parents still living on thier own, without connection to the outside world and no help from BT at all.

  • Data Migration of Contracts with periodic billing and revenue recognition

    Hello Experts,
    I am trying to develop a legacy data migration plan for Contracts with periodic billing plan and revenue recognition.
    Example of the scenario is given below:
    Customer signed a contract for one year starting 01/01/2009.
    Customer is billed quartely, billed in advance.
    SAP going live on 04/01/2009
    Customer is billed for 3 months and also for initial set up fees.
    Revenue recognition is done monthly.
    We have to migrate this contract to SAP.
    Billing document posting may be necessay as it affects revenue recognition which spans across the total contract period.
    Any ideas how to do this?

    Hi Anil
    How did you manage this? We also had the same problem in one of our contracts and what we did was that we copied the contracts from the legacy with the full value. That is suppose SAP went live on 1st April, 2009 and the contract was created on 1st January 2009 for a value of suppose 100 USD, with the first billing being done on 1st Jan for 33.33 USD for 4 months. We first created the contract with a validity from 1st Jan 2009 in the new system. We billed it with a billing type that we created that did not actually create new accounting entries as the accounting entries had already been created in the legacy system. In the new system then we recognised the revenue till the go live, so that the actual value remaining of the contract reduced. Then we started the billing plan of the contract from 1st of April 2009 for the remaining amount. So next invoice was created on 1st april for 33.33 USD. Can you share your solution.

  • Double Billing and no help from the Chat System

    For 12 months now I've been billed for 2 accounts. I contacted the chat system about this and I was told that while her terminal couldn't fix it she would have someone else contact me later about canceling the one account without getting penalized for canceling that account early. I was in on the ground floor with the Creative Cloud and got the first 12 months at 30.00. It looks like to me when they bumped me to the 50.00 a month they didn't just change my one account but just created another under my email and started billing me for both.
    "Sharan: This subscription cancellation case will be forwarded and you will receive email within 2-3 business days regarding the same." Is what I was told in case # 0211874112.
    But what I got in an email from Adobe is this.
    "With this response, we believe your issue is resolved and have therefore closed your case 0211874112.  If your support case has not been completed to your satisfaction or you should you need to contact us on this issue again, please reference your case number. You can reopen your case up to 14 days after it has been closed."
    It wasn't closed, nothing is resolved.
    HELP PLEASE! This is getting ridiculous, I'm a small business and I don't need to be blowing my time on trying to get a big company to stop stealing from me.

  • Aspect ratio issues with SD box and no help from Verizon

    I just renewed my  2 year contract which included a free box but a billing screwup resulted in repeated charges for the box. A CS rep credited the account and said I had the wrong box and she would send out a new one. 
    i had a 7100 Motorola HD box. I have an older television set (that cannot control aspect ratio) and I have never had HD service but this was the box I was sent by Verizon as part of my contract. Why they felt it had to be changed I don't know, but ..... the box they sent was a 2500 SD box which does not give me an acceptable picture.
    It's totally random. Some channels are 16:9. Some are overzoomed 4:3. The FIOS channel bar at the bottom is partially off the screen and the content is clipped around the edges. Commercials are totally random in size and appearance.
    The # key on the remote does not work. There is no option in Settings to change the aspect ratio. 
    CS was ZERO help. They concluded that I had to either deal with the scattershot image sizes and clipped image content or go buy another television. SERIOUSLY VERIZON?
    I couldn't get an answer as to why the box I was sent by Verizon as part of my original contract that provided a perfectly acceptable image had to be replaced with a box that doesn't provide squat.  I have had Verizon service for  approximately 7 years with this same television and this is the first time I've been given a box that can't produce an acceptable image and a remote that can't resize. So why now?
    This smells like a bait and switch, or an attempt to get customers to pay for an upgraded box for a service they don't want  just to get an acceptable picture.  I live in an urban area and there is plenty of older equipment in these homes. So are customers like myself just being told even though you pay a significant amount of money for a Triple Play you are only getting 2 parts of the service?
    I find it hard to believe there isn't some way to make the box or the remote change the image size. Can anyone help?

    but yes, our 2500 sd box, basically the 4:3 standard non HD box broadcasts to fit a 4:3 TV.. now some channels will have the black bars on top and bottom to accommodate the 16:9 aspect ratio..  you'll notice this if you run the 2500 box on a flat screen.. if you have it in 16:9 ratio on a flat screen it looks stretched.. the only way to watch regularly is in 4:3 mode.. which basically has the image with bars on all sides.. or you can zoom it and lose a portion of the image.. but it's because the box thinks you're using a 4:3 sd tv so the boxes appear on top and bottom so it can still fit the wider image it's filmed in.. so with flat screens you need the HD box i guess..  unless there is something i'm missing but there isn't a setting that i can find to change how the box exports the image for a flat screen or 4:3.   I know the HD boxes have an 'SD Override' option.. which i guess tells the box you're not using a 4:3 tv anymore.. but that option is not on the 2500 SD box.. believe me i looked..  but this is all in reverse for your issue anyhow as you're having trouble with the SD box on an SD TV...  which yeah, if you run SD the quality of picture is not as good as the HD programming.. so please let us know what they say to do for you.

    That's not extremely helpful right now. I would love to get help online. I don't mind chatting but Live Chat is never online when it says it should be.
    I also have other problems - like I can't log in to my account without going through the "Forgot user ID" process. Does the support site not work with a non-US IP? I don't understand how this is so terrible and I have to submit a question through a support forum.

  • Thinking about Moves with my Plan and Future, Help Appreciated

    OK so this was the deal with my plan currently, is that right now im looking to save money on my phone bill every month and im being given the big run around with my Talk/Text/Data Promotion where i keep being told my data discount of 9.99 would come off and so far this month too it did not come off. The woman in Promotions department apparently fixed my account which not sure if she did and the problem with the whole thing is that different reps keep telling me i can only get my employee discount on my voice or the data discount which of course is wrong because the promo woman over the phone told me i can receive both and the loyalty reps over the phone keep giving me different stories and im tired of it. This was the reason i extended my contract for a bit to get this discount and its getting very frustrated about it!!
    The other thing was i was thinking about switching carriers when my contract is up because my bill has been pretty high the past couple of months and it makes no sense to early terminate my 2nd line because my ex gf upgraded to a smartphone and jacked up the fee. My mom hardly uses the 2nd line and i would like to cancel it but because its too high it makes no point to do that since both our contracts are up in a year. I was thinking about going to a basic phone to cut my data plan prices because the only cheapest verizon has is the 30 dollar plan. I don't use my data plan too much but i heard if i go to a basic phone and within 14 days i go back to a smartphone i can get my unlimited data back. So idk if this is true or not. But its gotten to the point that these smartphone plans and contracts are a bit much now. So if there is a Verizon rep that can chime in and see what can be done or discuss with me about options, that would be greatly appreciated. Otherwise i just had to vent about the issue with my current bill at this moment. So just was saying.

    To answer SuzyQ, my ex gf is off my account because of problems with her being on it (being late all the time, messing up my credit) and she wasn't choosing to fix her problems by doing and AOL because of her credit which Verizon wanted 400 and she didn't want to do it. Long story short, she lied to me about her AOL deposit amount just to stay on my account for a few more years (hence the early upgrade). So thats why shes no longer with my account.
    To answer AZS, your right my mom HAS a basic phone now and does not have data. My problem is that i have data on my plan which im trying to cut back on the cost of the plan and so far, i really wish Verizon would let me have that Talk/Text/Data promotion where it was 9.99 for the unlimited data and it would really help my bill alot. Of course i had a hard time getting it and one of the reps who i dealt with about getting it was very rude with me and she didn't care about satisfying the problem or the plan with me.
    But both lines have less than a year left so when the time comes, its time to move to something cheaper and better for me no contract wise. Unless anyone has something else to throw in their opinion of.

    It sounds like you are trying to download a free app, and when prompted to enter a credit card it is declined. I would use this article to go into iTunes and change your payment method to None:
    Change or remove your payment information from your iTunes Store account (Apple ID)

  • Possible bug with Tab Control and Context Help?

    I created Description and Tip text for each Tab of a tab control I am using on my front panel.  I have a subVI that is called by selecting a menu item from my main front panel.  The subVI's front panel also has a menu system and a Tab Control.  I have Description and Tip text written for each of the tabs on the subVI's front panel.
    When I enable context help from the menu of my main VI, the proper help text shows up for the tabs on the main vi and, when I bring up the subVI's front panel, for its tabs as well.
    So far so good...
    Now I builld the application and run it as an executable.  For ALL of my panel tab descriptions, I get the tab's label in bold text, but no description (just a blank area).
    Is this a bug in LabVIEW?

  • Synchronizing with Outlook (Calendar and Contacts) - Help.....

    My iPhone opens up Outlook but it is not pulling my Outlook contacts and calendar to the iPhone. On the iPhone info tab in iTunes it is checked sync contacts and calendars from Outlook and all contacts and calendars. Then every time when I connect it synchs everything else but the Outlook contacts and calendar, even thought iPhone launches and opens Outlook and on the top of iTunes it shows that it is synching them, but it goes for a couple of seconds and then moves onto the rest of the synching like music, etc. None of my contacts or calendar is ending up on the iPhone. Please let me know how I can get this critically needed contacts and calendar to my iPhone. I figured it is some bug with Outlook. But, if iPhone is launching and recognizing Outlook, and shows it is synching (but for only a second or two) in the iTunes menu bar, how do I get the much needed contacts and calendar from my laptop to iPhone when everything is presently checked off in the info tab correctly.

    Many thanks. I just spent a couple of hours waiting for Apple technician on the phone, and they said you need to upgrade to Outlook 2003. I do not know if it will still work if I do it, but I will try. What did they say to you on the phone.

  • Im having trouble with my ipod and need help

    ok heres the deal, i have recently purchased a new computer and transferred my itunes to the new computer succesfuly. but when im updating my ipod it says that certain songs/videos are not authorized for your ipod exct....... and wont put those songs and videos on my ipod but theyve stayed in my itunes library. but the thing is the "unautherized songs/videos" are all of my purchased items that i bought at the music store on my old computer. so idk what to do because it just won put my music store purcashed items on my ipod. to all who read these i really neeed help so if you know what to do or have any sugestions just tell me.

    In short you have to authorize the purchased songs/video again for there on another PC. You authorized them on your old PC when you bought them, but now since they have need moved, there now on a PC that has not been authorized.

  • 5800 Problem with Ovi Store and Facebook - HELP PL...

    I have had my 5800 for about 4 weeks now and had a great time using Facebook and downloading stuff from the Ovi Store when suddenly my problem appeared.  When I try and log on to the Ovi Store it says at the bottom "you are logged in as Purpledwarfy but when I try to move onto another page I get an error saying "sign in failed, check your user name and password" I know that my username and password are correct because they work on all the other PCs I have tried it on. I have also tried to change my password and it hasn't made a difference.
    On Facebook I log in using the same details that get me access on a PC and it looks like it is going to load my page but just goes straight back to the login page.
    Has anyone else had the same problem and have you been able to fix it??

    Hi, I got it fixed in the end. I found the nearest Nokia Service Centre Experts who ended up being Carphone Warehouse.  I handed them my phone and went back to get it a couple of hours later and it was fixed.  All they did was wipe the phone, after saving my contacts etc onto the memory card, and then rebuilt it.  Working great now

  • Stupidly put iPod in water with no case and need help!!!!!!!!!

    I stupidly put my iPod in water without a case and when I try yo turn up/down the volume it says headphones which I don't have headphones placed in the jack, and Ive read previous comments on how you take a flashlight and look in the headphone jack and if its red or pink, it means you have water damage. I have done that and when I look in there it's white. Everything else is functionaning excellent. I have tried to turn it fully off and on multiple times. Nothing happened. I have also tried putting in the headphones and taking them out a bunch of times and it did nothing.  Funny thing is, my headphones work gone when they are being in use. It's really weird. Should I put it in rice?

    Yes, try in rice fir a week.
    Then
    - Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so. There is a little switch in the headphone jack that disconnects the speaker when the headphone jack is inserted. Yes, try again
    Try the following to rule out a software problem
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
    Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
    least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
    Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
    All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.

    If not under warranty Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price. They do not fix yours.

    I have some qunatity and currencies fields that i am filling in via the user exit.  I've paced the UOM in the append sturcture and had the quantity field reference these but the UOM keeps coming of empty.  what am i doing worng?

    Assuming that you have enhanced datasource and you are getting the appended field blank in BW.
    If it is so, please check whether this field "UOM" has tick against it in "HIDE" column of datasource maintenance.
