FSIS host controller service getting stopped frequently on windows 2008 machine

We have 6 Windows hosts out of which 1 is admin node for FSIS and other 5 have IMS instances running. Of late we observed that FSIS host controller service is getting stopped on many of these windows hosts almost every day and sometimes 5-6 times a day.
From the event viewer we could not find much errors except messaging saying FSIS host controller service got terminated unexpectedly. below are the message from one of the host controller service log. I have enabled debug mode today so waiting for debug logs
to give some more information

  • HOST APP SERVICE has stopped working

I keep getting the message "HOST APP SERVER has stopped working" whenever I try to select the home button on my screen. It simply says that Windows will close the application and notify me when a solution has been found, but this has been going
on for a week and it has yet to message me a solution. The error message isn't very specific as to what is going on and I have no idea what to do!

    Hi kgabriella,
Please open Event Viewer and check the related logs, if possible, post the information here.
Further, follow the advice posted by Arnav Sharma, follow the guide to boot into clean boot and check the issue again.

    Dear Dayal,

  • How to Upgrade Service Manager 2012 SP1 with Windows 2008 R2 to SCSM 2012 R2 with Windows 2012 R2

    Hi,
    We are using Service Manager 2012 SP1 UR2 with Windows 2008 R2.
I am planning to upgrade Service Manager to R2 with Windows 2012 R2. I found the steps to upgrade SCSM 2012 Sp1 to R2 but need assistance to upgrade with 2012 R2 OS.
Please suggest how to achieve the above mentioned objective.
    Regards, Syed Fahad Ali

Virtualization solves this problem handily, by allowing you to create a new server to run the new program on the same hardware. it also solves the related problem of moving off unsupported hardware without changing OS or application. VMware is my personal
favorite, but Hyper-V, Xen, and VirtualBox all have similar capabilities.
Compare the cost of work and confidence in success of a upgrade, where any of thousands or millions of uncontrolled settings could cause an issue, to the cost of work and confidence in success of installing a new OS instance and configuring a known state
    for the new environment.
In short, upgrades should no longer be a thing. there are just too many ways they can go wrong, and it's far too easy to create a new OS with minimal expense and effort.

  • HP OM : OVepmessageactionserver service gets stopped every time we try to restart it

    Hi,
We have OMW ver 9.00.00231 installed in windows 2k8 server. I got an error while I was working with LogFile monitoring policy. I am attaching the error below:
"Faulting application OvEpMsgActSrv.exe, version 6.0.94.34, time stamp 0x50f6e141, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 6.0.6002.18881, time stamp 0x51da3d16, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x0000000000048f12, process id 0xcf8, application start time 0x01cf8f98fe24a8c1."
I restarted the system since I had the error saying that the management server was unable to forward the messages as email, since then I am unable to login to the console. The ovepmessagesActionServer service
and the OvepstatusEngine service starts and stops immediately.
FYI, I have done the below activites to make the server up (seeing similar forums):
    1) When I restarted the server there was windows updates happening which I removed later on all the patches that were updated during the restart.
    2) We didn't install any hotfix on the management server since last year and this issue we are facing for the very first time, even doing nothing on the server
    3) I have executed the below steps too:
    vpstat -3 -r stop
    net stop winmgmt
    vpstat -3 -r start
    vpstat -3
    vpstat -p
    4) As given in a forum, in the sql database (openview) I have executed the below query:
select count (*) from ov_ms_keyrelationcache where messageid not in (select
    id from ov_ms_message);
if it's value is more than 0 ,delete is using :-
delete from ov_ms_keyrelationcache where messageid not in (select id from
    ov_ms_message);
    5) Also executed,
     -  truncate table OV_MS_Message
    - truncate table OV_MS_Annotation
    - truncate table OV_MS_KeyRelationCache
But of no use till now, expecting your help asap..

  • No method (within view controlle) to get reference to the window controller

    Hello all,
I need to fire the exit plug of the window controller out of an embedded view.
All help I can find in the internet tell me to "easily" get a ref to the window controller and thus to fire its plug as follows:
    data: L_REF_MAIN_WINDOW type ref to IG_MAIN_WINDOW .
    L_REF_MAIN_WINDOW =   WD_THIS->GET_MAIN_WINDOW_CTR( ).
    L_REF_MAIN_WINDOW->FIRE_MY_EXIT_PLUG_PLG(  ).
But my view-controller dos not implement a method like
    GET_MAIN_WINDOW_CTR( )
How can I get this method generated? What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks for your replies.

  • How do I stop frequent configuring windows update?

I have a personal Computer and observing  recently it is configuring windows updates frequently. It is very annoying for me and I want to get rid from this problem. For your information I am using Windows 7 Professional.
    Thanks

You're in luck. Windows 7 updates can involve quite a few files to download and install, but as of yesterday, full support of Windows 7 is over. You'll still get some security updates but feature updates are finished. That should ease the problem. Of course, you can turn off automatic updates completely, as long as you're not concerned about security issues.

  • Getting Mac Address of Windows 7 Machine

    Hi all,
Our application used to gather the Mac address of the client machine. For this purpose, i was using the Java bean(ClientInfos.fmb) to get the information. It used to work fine until
the OS was Windows XP. As soon as the Windows 7 has come, the application/java bean could not collect the mac address.
Pls let me know if there is any working for this problem.
Even if there is any other alternative, I would love to adopt.
One of the solution, I was thinking that to run a client_host command using webutil, write the output in a notepad. Get the mac address from the notepad.
If it is possible, give me some clue,so that i can fight it down.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Alok Dubey

There are likely several ways to accomplish this. You will need a custom java bean or webutil. WebUtil does not have a built-in function that can do what you want, but it will give you access to the system and/or registry. The problem with which you are faced is that some machines may have more than one net adapter and therefore more than one mac. Anyway.... you can use the CLIENT_HOST command to execute this Windows command:
    GETMAC*
You can also execute GETMAC /NH+ and the data will be displayed without the column headers. If you write this info to a temp text file on the client, you can then read it with CLIENT_TEXT_IO. Use the pl/sql substr function to exact whatever part of the info you want to use.

  • LSI 1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller driver for Windows 8.1

I have an HP Z600 with a LSI 1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller and get an error. It is a "This device cannot start. (Code 10) STATUS_DEVICE_POWER_FAILURE error
When Windows 7 is installed, there is no error but with Windows 8.1 running there is this error.
There are no installed legacy drivers that I can use and I have tried many different permutations of driver installs.
    Any thoughts?
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi:
You may also want to post your question on the HP Business Support Forum -- z Workstations section.

If you tried manually installing the W7/W8 driver (I have no clue which one of the several LSI drivers listed that you need), then that would have been the only suggestion I could have offered.

  • Oracle SID 102TNSListener stops frequently

    Hi All,
    Recently we installed Oracle 10.2.0.2.0.
Now we observe that Oracle<SID>102TNSListener service is stopping frequently.
We read below application error in event log:
Faulting application TNSLSNR.EXE, version 0.0.0.0, faulting module oranl10.dll, version 10.2.0.1, fault address 0x000232ba.
Can anyone tell us how we can resolve this problem.
    Thank you.
    Prashanth.R.G.

If you have Metalink support read article "TNS LISTENER (10GR2 WIN32) CRASHES DUE TO MEMORY FAULT IN MODULE ORANL10.DLL" document number 5214373 and see if that applies.
I would suggest upgrading to 10.2.0.3 or higher as the fix is listed in 11.1 and the bug reports lists only one customer as hitting the bug but the report is from Jan. 2007.
Restarting the listener seems to be the suggested action.
