FTP_CONNECT to Windows based server

Hi Experts,
I am using FM <b>'FTP_CONNECT'</b> to send a file from local pc to <b>Windows based server</b>.
I am using the parameters: username, pwd, hostname, rfc destination (when I test the RFC destination SAPFTP in SM59, it connects OK)
I connected to the HOSTNAME from <b>command prompt</b> and it connects OK with same parameters.
But when we try to connect with FM <b>'FTP_CONNECT'</b>, it gives error:
'User has no access authorization for computer HOSTNAME'.
Please advise,
Regards,
FS

Following is the code we have used and it is working without any problems..
Password encryption
data : v_password(20),
v_key type i value 26101957,
v_slen type i.
--- ENCRYPT PASSWORD
The password is entered by the user on the selection screen in the parameter p_pswd.
clear v_password.
set extended check off.
v_password = p_pswd.
translate v_password to lower case.
v_slen = strlen( v_password ).
call 'AB_RFC_X_SCRAMBLE_STRING'
id 'SOURCE' field v_password
id 'KEY' field v_key
id 'SCR' field 'X'
id 'DESTINATION' field v_password
id 'DSTLEN' field v_slen.
FTP Connect
data v_hdl type i.
call function 'FTP_CONNECT'
exporting
user = p_usrid (User id used to connect)
password = v_password
host = p_ip_add (IP of the server to be connected)
rfc_destination = p_sapftp (value is normally SAPFTP or SAPFTPA)
importing
handle = v_hdl
exceptions
not_connected = 1
others = 2.
From your msg it looks that the FTP connection is not the problem.. The problem is with the permissions for the user, with which you are doing the ftp, has..
This user does not have write permissions in the directory in which it is trying to write the file..
Try doing the FTP manually.. If this works then the FTP Command u r using after the FTP Connect should also work..

  • Can ARD 3 be used for users who want to remote into a windows based server?

I have a couple users at the company I work at who will need to be able to remote into our Windows Server. These users all have Macs and will have to go about remoting in differently. I have done some research on Apple Remote Desktop but i am unsure if it fits my users needs. If I have someone download and install this software on a mac, will they then be able to remote into a windows based server using an IP address? that is my goal in mind  could get some help on this one I'd appreciate it.
    Thanks,
    - Rich

I'm referring to what windows can do via Remote Desktop connection.
You open up the RDC dialog box, enter an external IP address (if working remotely) or a server name if working internally and connect right to the machine. Ideally i want my users to be able to log into our terminal server and be able to use a program remotely. they will have to log on to this server with company credentials. Basically from a mac, connecting up to a Windows Server and remotely logging into it to perform tasks.
I'm really just trying to find an easy way to do this for my user's with MAC's since it is not as straightforward as in windows. I cannot test anything out at home since i do not own a mac so i come to the community to see if you guys have had the same kind of situation before.
ARD was the first peice of software that looked like it might fit my needs but if it doesn't is there anything out there? is it for free or for a cost? any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  • Is it possible for a mac to run across a Windows based server such as in a school, and still be able to access all networked folders? I have been told that macs can only read down a certain number of folders

Is it possible to run a mac on a windows based server? We have a server based on Windows 7 in our school, and our techies are reluctant to let me buy a mac as they say macs can only read a number of folders deep, which would preclude me from accessing shared folders on our servers. Is this true, and is there a way round this? I would eventually like to get a suite of macs, but because all our resources are on the server, I have to be able to access them.
    Thanks for any help,
    Mike

I have found that both Linux and Mac (unix) are capable of reading "deep" folders while win 32 will have issues, your it people are clearly wrong.  I run a network with both win/mac. And as long as the win servers/pc's that have shares are set to allow apple file sharing in their folder properties.   And the macs are set to allow smb there should absolutely no trouble with you accessing anything across the platforms, heck, from a Mac to a win pc on some occasions you don't even need to include a "domain" name to log on to, and you can create aliases and make your own shortcuts etc... So you don't have to manually connect each time you boot up etc... But that's all personal preferences I suppose.
All I can tell you is that, I do it on a daily basis managing a small business. So your answer is yes you can.

  • Safari 3.2.1 - now unable to access Window based server at work (Citrix)

I have recently bought a 2nd iMac and updated Safari 3.2.1 on both machines. Since then I have not been able to access the Windows based server at work (I work from home a lot) which is accessed using Citrix software and Java Applet etc. I am certain it is Safari as I am able to access my work server on my old iBook (which runs Safari 1.3.2). It is very frustrating as I am unable to work. IT services at work are unable to assist as they do not support Macs and Apple software. Anyone out there able to advise on what I need to do?
    Thanks
    elwoodJJ

Update: after months of wrangling with our IT dept (who do NOT support Macs) the problem has somehow been resolved. I do not believe it was OS x 10.5.6 problem but more related to the 'Client Server' Java Applets. We now have a single log-in procedure for the Citrix server which works perfectly well. So I am using the latest OS X, Citrix software and Safari apps.

  • What do I need to do to make a our website currently running on a WINDOWS based server to a Linux Se

Will dreamweaver convert my site to work on LINUX servers..? All my pages are .asp.

To add to John, if your current site does not have any ASP/ .NET content and does not rely on a MsSQL database, you can switch to Linux host without any hassles.
If you're running any .asp, .aspx files you may have trouble moving them into Linux like John says and you need to migrate the statutory code into PHP or JSP (if your Linux host has a Tomcat extension and if you prefer JSP to PHP).
We can help you better if you tell us what setup you currently have on your Windows server.

  • Can I set up a Mac Pro as a server using OSX Server for my current Windows-based office?

I have a small business, and our office currently has a Windows-based network.  I love my Mac and it's ease of use, and for now I have to use Remote Desktop to log on to my server, and then run my MRP/ERP business software from that.  Is there an Apple solution (Mac Pro?) for my server, where other users could run parallels to access the MRP/ERP software?  Thanks!

It is possible - even quite easy - to turn almost any current or recent model of Mac into a server by installing OS X Server. It is less clear, however, that this will do what you want.
What are the hardware and software requirements of your MRP/ERP software? If it will only run under Windows or any OS other than Mac OS X, then it will not work, and installing OS X Server will not change that.
You may be able to get the MRP/ERP software to run under Windows run on a Mac using Parallels or VMWare Fusion, but it would still be running under the Windows OS, just virtualized so that it runs inside the Mac OS. Thus it will not be any easier to use than your current system, and in fact may be harder, and might not work at all.
You could also run Windows under BootCamp, but again, while the Windows OS would be running natively, you lose any ease of use of the Mac OS.
    Best of luck.

  • Sending XML file from SAP to Windows Based file server with FTP function

    Hi Gurus,
We are using SAP BW 3.0B version.
I need to convert data in ODS to XML format and send this XML file to remote server which  is not a SAP application server, it is just a Window Based file server with FTP function..
By writing some ABAP code I have converted ODS data into XML format (which gets saved in my local system)
(Is that I need to put this file in Application Server to send it to the other servers? )
Now the thing is how I can send this file to that Windows Based file server.
plz suggest me.... what can be done......
    Thanks in Advance

I dont think the above code support windows OS. Because I always execute this script via UNIX.
I think you can try this option, go to command prompt, goto the destination path where you have an XML file using cd....
ftp (destination servername), specify the username and password.
afterthat, use the command put and filename.
check whether the file had reached destination successfully or not.
For automation purpose, you can use the following script like
    ftp: -s: test.txt  (servername)
    In test.txt,
    UserName
    Password
    bin
    cd /files
    put file.xml
    bye
Also, you can check in SM69, there will be some SAP external commands to automate the file transfer.
    Thanks

  • I need to access my work server, email ect  windows based  whats best using my imac

i need help accessing my email and company server from my imac   the company uses a windows based exchange server   thanks

Are you trying to set your email up on the iMac using mail?  If so, you will some information from you IT department.  Or you can try to setup and exchange server in mail and type your email account and password.  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3748  if it's a POP account you will need to get the setup info from IT.  You can use Remote Desktop Connection to connect to your server.

  • WLC 5508 LDAP Windows 2008 Server - auth based on AD groups

    hi NG,
i'm trying to web-authenticate my Wifi user of an WLC 5508 against LDAP.
Thereby i'm trying to autenticate all users within a GROUP, not an OU within the MS Active Directory based upon an Windows 2008 Server.
I can authenticate against a user, witch is beeing put into an OU, according to examples based here: https://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps6366/prod_configuration_examples_list.html
Checking based upon Users within OUs works fine.
But i have not got all of those users wihin one single OU!
Need help for following:    LDAP-Auth based on AD Groups:
    Using:
    MS-Domain:                          MY-DOMAIN.CH
    AD-GROUP:                          VPN-USERS
    AD-Structure:
    MY-DOMAIN.CH
    |
    GROUPS
            |
        Administrative Groups
                          |
                     VPN-USERS
                              (-> Member of this Groups (Wireless1, Wirless2, ...)
    Server Adress:               IP.IP.IP.IP
    Port:                                 389
    Enable Server Stats      YES
    Simple Bind                    Authenticated
    Bind Username              LDAP-USER
    Bind Password               supersecret
    Bind Passw. confirm      supersecret
    User Base DN:               ?-1-?
    User Attribute:                ?-2-?
    User Object Type:          Person
    Server Timeout               2
What happens for instance, if i put a GROUP within a GROUP regarding the LDAP Authentication.
I guess i have to authenticate against the "upper" GROUP, or do i have to create an entry on the WLC for every GROUP i'm questoning?
Could some one provide my with an example, since i have not found documentation regarding this topic.
    Thank you.

    Hi,
User Base DN : this is in case you want to restrict the search area. If you put "dc=mydomain,dc=CH", you will search your whole AD. Depending on the size, it can be slow ...
Remember that the User Base DN is also used for the admin user.
In conclusion, User Base DN should be the most restrictive path that leads to both the admins and the users you want to authenticate.
    Example :
    OU=Employees,OU=Humans,DC=Mydomain,DC=CH
This would prevent to search in machines or any assets. This implies that the admin you bind with is an employee and you are only authenticating employees. You can have any number of OUs under employees, it doesn't matter
Attribute : This is the object attribute that the WLC uses to compare with the user name. In general, you would go with sAMAccountName in AD. CN would be another common example for LDAP databases.
If what you are looking for is to restrict access and only authenticate people who belong to a certain group. Then you need a radius server like ACS.
That server will be able to make selections and check the "memberOf" attribute to make sure it is in a certain group.

    Hey,
Any proposed answer for this ?
I face the same problem and my environment
and I've got same results as dle2k
    1. TS lic mode is set to per user confirmed it works for windows clients.
    2. the TS server's system log logged error "The Terminal Server security layer detected an error in the protocol stream and has disconnected the client".
    3. the reports shows per user cal has been issued to users. no temp per device cal has been issued.
    4. yes, CoRD works .

This what my IT replied with:
That teh MacBook cannot connect with RWW because it requires Active-X to connect.  That MAc browsers (Safari) do not use Active-X but only Windows (IE) uses Active-X control.
It would seem to me that there must be a way around this. Any help?

  • Authenticating a Mac into a Windows-based Proxy Server.

    Hello.
Once again, I have come to find help from the wisest Mac users there are.
Now, my school network is Windows based. I can connect to the network and I can access the INTRANET (which contains the webmail and moodle, our CMS, etc.), but I cannot get through the proxy to get onto the INTERNET.
I use DAVE X to connect to the shared drives on the server. I tried to get DAVE X to authenticate to the proxy with the NT credential, although it did not work. I also tried to authenticate using Authoxy using its authentication method, but that also did not work.
The built in authentication also does not work. The page I get whatever authentication method I try (or even if I try without authentication) is "Access Denied".
What I know is that the school uses WinGate or BlueCoat to handle proxy authentication and then they use WinProxy to censor material deemed inappropriate to be displayed in a school environment.
Hopefully we have some users here who are knowlegable in this area and can help me with this problem.
    I thank you in advance.
    Jeffrey

Hello. I'm also having trouble with a proxy and authentication, which is why I ran across your post.
Have you tried using Firefox (and entering your proxy information in its preferences - Firefox doesn't use proxies specified in System Preferences)?
In my situation, software that relies on the proxy settings in System Preferences (Safari, iTunes, Widgets, Software Update) does not work. It doesn't matter what I enter for name and password, it never works.
However, if I enter the same proxy info in Firefox, Firefox can successfully authenticate and I can surf the Web.
This probably won't help you much but I thought I'd throw it out there. Good luck!
