FTP server connection?

I am using ftp_connect to connect to a FTP server but getting error, what is the thing I am mising in that?
This code I got from SDN discussion. The function
HTTP_SCRAMBLE gives me the encrypted password but I want to know what is this key parameter?
If I enter 'ftp:
192.168.16.21\scan' it gices me error saying connection failed.
And if i enter only '192.168.16.21' it shows error that you are not authorised to access this. Where as If I try to put this 'ftp:
192.168.16.21\scan' in address bar it opens the location.

Dilip,
As I understand, you have to pass the password as plane character datatype to FTP_CONNECT. What I mean is that it cannot be an encrypted password. I will suggest following code:
data:l_passwd(10) value 'YouRpAswd'. "Case sensitive
CALL FUNCTION 'FTP_CONNECT'
EXPORTING
USER = 'x1y2z3'
PASSWORD = l_passwd

    We took FTP as Transport Type and we input the FTP IP Adress, User etc.
    The Inputs are all correct, we have also check if its possible to connect the FTP server via fillezilla, via cmd -- all works fine
    But OWB 11.2 show us by test the connection this Error:
    ENV0032: Location SAP_TEST is invalid. Check that you provided the PASSWORD or+

    I know that seems as if some is not ok with the password or the other parameters.
    But all inputs are correct and the password doesn't contains any special character.
    Also the connection to the SAP system works fine with OWB 11.2 but not with the FTP System.

  • Adobe FTP Server Connection Issue

    I'm trying to download AcroProStdUpd910_T3T4_incr.msp from ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/acrobat/win/9.x/9.1/misc.  I've made numerous attempts to download the file, but each try ends with failure.  It seems that the server may be resetting the connection before the download completes, or perhaps the file is corrupt.  I've downloaded other files from the same location successfully.  I've tried Firefox and IE, the download fails in either case.  My IP address was 184.219.129.119 for the last failure.  Would an Adobe Systems expert be kind enough to troubleshoot this issue?  The problem appears to be server-side.

    Hi Jeff.  Thanks for your assistance.  You're correct; I need updates for Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro.  The file I mentioned in my initial post is exactly as it appears in the .../win/9.x/9.1/misc/ FTP directory.  The file is the second part of a two part patch that brings Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro up to 9.1.  The product update page doesn't point to any updates for Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro.  In my knowledge, this is the only Webpage that has hyperlinks to Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro patches, on all of adobe.com.  All of the patch hyperlinks on that Webpage point to the files stored in the .../win/9.x/ FTP directory, but all of the hyperlinks are broken.  Thus, the FTP directory is the only place to retrieve the patches from.
    The problem appears to be with the FTP server.  The server appears to consistently reset the client's (my computer) connection before the download of this large file completes.  In other words, your server doesn't allow clients to stay connected long enough to download large files on slower internet connections.

  • Help (pleeeease) with configuring FTP server connection

    HI...I am so frustrated. You have to understand that I am not completely stupid, but I just cannot understand the process which will allow me to connect to a **^&-**** FTP server!!!
    Here's the deal:
    Me, graphic designer, designing among other things, websites.
    Dreamweaver, the software program that I use to design websites.
    So, I design a site, and configure it to upload via FTP. I get the FTP hostname, username, password info from the intended Internet Service Provider, and load that info into the required fields in the Site Manager window. Everything is great until I try to connect to the server....it just won't do it! I get error messages that state flatly that I cannot connect to the remote server, for reasons that are as bland as "username and password information incorrect". I have called the ISP to determine if I am using the correct username, password blah blah blah, and everything checks out on their end. It seems that everyone else but me can connect to a bloody FTP server! Harrumph.
    So...what can I do? Is it that something in the System Preferences panel needs to be adjusted to allow me access to FTP? I have fiddled around a little in there, but don't change anything, because I don't know what TCP/IP, proxy settings, etc. MEANS!!! All I did was allow FTP access (duh).
    Another point of interest is permissions...somewhere along the way, during my long and convoluted journey with this problem, a message came up that mentioned that. Permissions. Don't know what that means either.
    Is there anyone out there that can help me?? I am so confused, and just need a little education. I would greatly appreciate any advice or information. Thanks! Janelle
    iMacG4   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

    Hi Janelle: I assume the domain is georgeponzini.com
    1. http://georgeponzini.com/index.htm works so we know you have an index.htm page uploaded to the server but it contains no information at all, like you uploaded a completely blank page, no title, no code, nothing, nada...
    2. http://georgeponzini.com/index.html does not exist, you never uploaded a page so what we see is an error page, saying such a file does not exist.
    3. The link you have ftp-dom.earthlink.net/ is for uploading directly from a browser but I could not get it to work in Safari but does work in Firefox, which you can consider downloading and using.
    4. If you can upload from your Control Center at Earthlink.net, that's a no brainer, this is the option to take, you cannot make any errors doing it this way. But that we'll figure out next... It's ok you do not see a public_html folder you are probably already in it when you log in. Where you given instructions to upload into the WEBDOCS/ folder, if so you did that right.
    BTW - have you checked with Earthlink that Control Center will work on a Mac using Safari asa browser
    5. Your index.htm page/file is NOT where you upload to, the index.htm IS the 'Home Page' or 'Index Page'. You're seeing a white page because it contains no information, but you must have uploaded a file/page named index.htm (see 1 above)
    6. If you have files/pages uploaded in the correct area, see if you can rename any file index.html - I am sure you can do this at the Control Center, if not do this on your computer and use 'save as' > index.html - upload this file/page and see if it displays
    Let me know what happens, Rick

  • How to save Final Cut Pro project to an ftp server to then open on a different computer

    Hello, I work for a graphic design firm that also does video production for businesses. We are using Final Cut Pro X in our office which has an FTP server connected to all office computers.
    What we want is to be able to have on employee start a project in Final Cut Pro X, save it to the server; then have another employee open up the same project and continue working from a different computer.
    Right now, we have a lot of our Final Cut files saved to the server, and the files will show up in the server on the other employee's machine. BUT, we scroll in the server to the file for the Final Cut Pro project on the other computer, and the file is grayed out, unable to be opened on the new computer.
    I've tried right clicking and choosing "open with Final Cut" and Final Cut does then open, but right before it opens the project within Final Cut, a message comes up saying "The document could not be opened. Open documents from within Final Cut Pro," which of course, I see no way to do that from within Final Cut Pro.
    I've also called Apple Care, they reminded me that we can't have one project open on two computers at the same time, and that's fine. We are willing to close the project on computer one to then open on computer two.
    If you have an answer let me know. We don't want to have to load onto an external hard drive to then load onto the other machine, especially since we have a server ready to go.
    Thanks for your help.

    You can share projects via the ftp server, but you need to:
    1) Have all the media in identical events on each editor's machine;
    2) Set up the project  and share the entire folder for that project first;
    3) Afterwards, you can share just the project file itself
    You CANNOT work directly on projects and events stored in the ftp server.
    See Steve Martin explain how to do all this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hu-ga7fxKh8

  • Connecting to MS Access db located on FTP server

    Hi,
    I'm trying to query an ms Access database that is located on a remote FTP server, using JDBC:ODBC driver and experiencing some difficulties.
    In early stages I was connecting to the db locally with connection string below:
    private String connString = "jdbc:odbc:DRIVER=Microsoft Access Driver " +             "(*.mdb);DBQ=C:/hdrive/testdb.mdb;{code} It was working fine so i assumed that connecting to the same database on a remote server would be as simple as changing the local path to the URL on server. {code}private String connString = "jdbc:odbc:DRIVER=Microsoft Access Driver " +             "(*.mdb);DBQ=ftp://user:[email protected]/testdb.mdb;
    Turns out I was wrong. Following error message returned when executing:
    '(unknown)' is not a valid path. Make sure that the path name is spelled correctly and that you are connected to the server on which the file resides.
    I would appreciate if anybody could give me few pointers or steps involved in getting my application to connect to this database.

    Perhaps there is another way around this. I've done some research on the internet and I've read that you can have a script running on the webserver and send queries to it using SOAP. Has anybody had any experience in this? I'd appreciate if someone could point me where to start.Pretty sure I referenced one solution in that which was the rmi proxy driver.
    And basically every web site that you visit, including this one, has implemented a web solution so obviously they exist and there are many variants.
    A java one is J2EE containers of which you might look at tomcat.

  • How to connect to an FTP server via Midnight Commander _User_Menu_?

    Hi everyone.
    There's a nifty command that works in MC and makes it connect to an FTP server and display its directories just as if they were local ones: cd ftp://USER_LOGIN@SERVER_NAME. The only thing it asks for is a password, obviously. That's exactly what i'm looking for, theoretically.
    I know it's not really a standard Bash command, because if invoked outside MC, it returns an error (directory not found).
    I got kind of tired of typing it in (or copypasting it) every time, so i thought why not make it automatic? A Bash alias or a shell script wouldn't work, because as i said, it's not really a bash command.
    But what surprised me was that it didn't work as an entry in MC's menu, too.
    Tried to go another way, discovered kftp, apparently it's completely not what i am looking for.
    And i didn't even understand what F9 > Left > FTP Link in MC did. It isn't automatic as well anyway, i have to type everything in manually.
    Can anyone advise how to automate FTP connection in MC, or even in Bash (so that MC just treats it like a regular directory)?
    Big thanks in advance.

    This is not the correct way. You are using bash command line. For this to work it must be:
    # mc cd ftp://ftp.0fees.net
    kiruch wrote:When i invoke it as an entry of MC's menu (what i'm aiming for), i get /tmp/mc-cyril/mcusr6BWdYd: line 2: cd: ftp://ftp.0fees.net: No such file or directory - well, basically the same.
    I don't know what do you mean by "invoke an entry of MC's menu",
    Is this:
    Left->FTP link or Right->FTP link ?
    kiruch wrote:And finally, if i type cd ftp://ftp.0fees.net manually into MC's command prompt, i get a red alert message that says Cannot chdir to "ftp://ftp.0fees.net". Input/output error (5)
    In the first post you said you were able to login with "cd ftp://USER_LOGIN@SERVER_NAME", so MC is working well.
    This error you showed is the same which I have when I type "cd ftp.0fees.net" in the MC command prompt (maybe you typed wrong...)
    Instead, when I try "cd ftp://ftp.0fees.net" the popup error is:  "ftpfs: Login incorrect for user anonymous"
    This is what I expected, because I don't have the username and password and I'm trying a anonymous login.
    Are you sure your typing is right? Please, check your typing and try again.

  • How to connect to a FTP server using a proxy in a DMZ with XI file adapter?

    Hello,
    Want to connect to an ftp server using a proxy in the DMZ. I don't see any standard options in the XI file adapter to use a standard. Is there a workaround?
    I already looked at https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=57137
    But it didn't help me.
    Regards,

    U can't use FTP over SSH i.e., SFTP. But u may use FTPS by enabling the SSL layer on J2EE of XI. See this

    I am programing the router with ASDM so if you could tell me what i need to do from the GUI to fix this.

    Dan,
    Looking at the output,
    Status:          Resolving address of domain.com
    Status:          Connecting to ExternalIP:990...
    Status:          Connection established, initializing TLS...
    Status:          Verifying certificate...
    Status:          TLS/SSL connection established, waiting for welcome message...
    This looks like FTPS which is not supported on the ASA. You can workaround it by trying to connect using Active mode from the outside instead of PSV.

  • Trying to connect to a ftp server

    I am able to connect to Cerberus (5.0.0.5) using the web browser or using a CoreFTP client, but I can't connect programatically using org.apache.commons.net.ftp.FTPClient.
    Below is my code (this is actually using the java ftpclient through Coldfusion) :
    ftpsClient = CreateObject("java","org.apache.commons.net.ftp.FTPClient").init();
    ftpsClient.connect(JavaCast("string","xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx"),21);
    connected = ftpsClient.isConnected();
    login = ftpsClient.login(JavaCast("string","username"),JavaCast("string","password"));
    This is what I see in the ftp server log file:
    2011/12/13 13:47:54  [0]  Client connected to Cerberus FTP Server 5.0.0.5 on 'machine'
    2011/12/13 13:48:41  [1]  Incoming connection request on FTP interface 0 at xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
    2011/12/13 13:48:41  [1]  FTP connection request accepted from xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
    2011/12/13 13:48:45  [1]  USER svc.script
    2011/12/13 13:48:45  [1]  331 User svc.script, password please
    At this point the Coldfusion/Java client returns "Truncated server reply".  I also tried not using the login, and instead sending the user command and pass command separately like this:
    userCmd = ftpsClient.sendCommand(JavaCast("string","USER" ),JavaCast("string","username" ));
    But as soon as I send the "USER" command I see the above in the log file and the same reply, "Truncated server reply".
    When I use the cfftp tag like this:
    <cfsetting requesttimeout="1000">
    <cfftp action="open" connection="ftptest" secure="false"
        server="xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" port="21"
        username="username" password-"password" timeout="1000" stoponerror="true">
    I receive a "java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out: connect"
    Does anyone have any ideas?  Thanks much.

    This has been resolved.
    There is a bug in the apache commons ftpclient that misinterprets /r in the welcome message.  The ftp server people made a change that fixes this.
    With cfftp, when I changed the server attribute on the cfftp open to the server name instead of the ip address, it started working.  To me this is a bug in ColdFusion, you should be able to use the ip address.
    The other thing I noticed is when you use getfile, you have to set the the failifexists attribute to "false".  If you don't, it fails every time and the file has a "0" size, whether the file actually does exist.  To me, another bug.

  • How to  Connect to ftp server in active mode using the finder

    How can I can I use the finder command "connect to server" to connect to a ftp server using the active Mode. With Cyberduck I can connect to this server only in active mode. Apparently the connect to server command uses the ftp passive mode.
    Or is it an other way to mount on the desktop a ftp server in active mode?
    Thank you

    Passive mode can be disabled in your network settings, but I have a feeling what you're actually asking for is the ability to upload, and the answer to that is the Finder can't do it. There are some filesystem plugins out there that provide this functionality, but they cost money.
