Function Key mapping

Hi,
I have migarted the form from 6i to 10g. But when i am doing *"Ctrl+L"* to see the LOV is not working, i have checked *"fmrweb.res"* for function key mapping it written
*76 : 2 : "Ctrl+L" : 29 : "List of Values"*
and i have changed "Ctrl+L" to "Ctrl+l" just to check if capital letter may be the issue but still that doesn't worked for me.
Than i i used show_lov to populate my LOV, but i want the function key should be used to show lov.
Can anyone help me on this front.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Magoo,
My item is having lov and if i am using show_lov builtin then i am getting the desire LOV, but Ctrl+L is not working, wven when i am doing Ctrl+k to see the function key mappings its showing me

  • Keyboard Function-Key mapping in Forms 10gAS

    Greetings,
Can anyone help with a quick outline of the way keyboard function keys are implemented on the Application Server in Forms 10g?
My situation is that I have two unix servers, one for Development, one for Production. When running my Forms from a browser window, one of the servers responds to the F8 key for Execute-Query, the other server does not.
I presume the mapping is done on the server, with some sort of configuration file. Perhaps something's been overridden by mistake somewhere. I have checked forms.conf, forms.properties, formsweb.cfg and frmweb.res, and cannot see anything that might relate to these Keyboard Function-Key settings. I've also tried finding a Developers Reference Manual online, but have had no luck.
It's bound to be something really simple, but I can't seem to crack it. Do you know what I'm missing?
    Pete ?:|

There are two basic versions of key mapping fmrweb.res files. Forms is released with a fmrweb.res file that has Ctrl+S for commit.
But there is also a fmrpcweb.res file that can be used in place of the other -- you just rename it as fmrweb.res in the other's place.
Both files are simple text files you can edit with Notepad or other simple text editors.
You can find more about fmrweb.res in the first post (a ways down) in this thread:

    Thrums1,
I've never had to "register" ViaVoice after updating the system. I thus suspect you haven't fully followed my above, three-step advice (particularly step 3).
    1) Reinstall ViaVoice from CD.
    2) Update to the latest version (using the patch downloadable from Nuance's website).
    3) Replace the “temp” and “users” folders (in the "ViaVoice" folder at the upper level of your home directory) by a previous copy thereof. When I say previous copy, I mean a copy from when ViaVoice was still working properly, e.g. a copy from when it was running under Tiger.
As I said, I've gotten ViaVoice to survive several system updates by following the above steps. To my knowledge, the last step is critical since it saves you from having to reconfigure ViaVoice under the new operating system (in this case Leopard). I suspect that ViaVoice is crashing on your system because it's trying to start some module of the SetUpAssistant that is incompatible with Leopard (as many are). If you instead use old copies of the "temp" and "users" folders (from the previous system), then ViaVoice doesn't have to go through the initial "registration" process; ViaVoice doesn't need the SetUpAssistant; and all is (more or less) fine.
    Good luck!
BTW, to my knowledge, Dictate only runs on Intel Macs. It thus won't run on a G4 iBook, just as it won't run on my PowerBook G4.

  • Forms 10g Function Key Buttons

    Hello,
I want to create graphical Function key Buttons (F1-F8)(Mouse clickable) to the bottom of all my forms (~650!), like in a terminal. Buttons are the same for all forms.
Anybody know how to do this? I already managed to assign the proper functions to the Function keys by the frmweb.res file (function Key mapping).
I was thinking of using a (invisible) framed webpage (html), the top frame displaying the forms aplet, the bottom part displaying the buttons. How to send keykodes from these buttons?
    Regards
    Nils

Find the file fmrweb.res in the DevSuiteHome_1\forms folder.
Rename it to something like fmrweb_orig.res
Copy the file fmrpcweb.res as fmrweb.res. The fmrpcweb file has settings to match the Windows 6i keys.
By the way, you can edit the fmrweb file with a simple text editor to see how to change it.

    Hi,
if we change the language to german in the registry, we got the correct number and date format but the function keys have a different mapping. Only with the english setting we got the normal function key mapping (but wrong date/number formats).

  • Map a function key to ctrl-z

I'm looking for a way to get a function key (such as F12) to produce a ctrl-z combination. Can't find a way to do this, xmodmap wont map to combinations, xkb configuration seems waaayyy complicated. Is there something simpler?

Thanks for that - I read the man pages now and modified it to

Works a treat. The reason I wanted to do this is to map one of the macro keys on my Aiptek tablet to undo so I don't have to keep reaching for the keyboard. So now I can set up other common shortcuts the same way. Lets hope it works with wine now

  • Map PDA Function Keys to Application

    Hi All,
I am working on RFID module of standard MAM. I could read the RFID tags using this hyperlink by clicking on RFID icon, in the standard application. But here my requirement is user can be able read the tag using the keys on PDA.
i.e., when a user click on a function key(ex: F5,F4 etc), an event has to trigger and invoke the RFID function, without click on the RFID icon on the application.
Briefly, can we map the keys on the PDA to application, using the ASCII codes of the keys.
You help on this regard is highly appreciable.

    Hi,
well, there is a great example in the SDK for .Net2.0CF. It is the Active Sync Exampple for C++. Take that as startpoint and implement the Keyboard codes in there. That is pretty much all you need to do. I am not in my office - I am at the customer at the moment - so unfortunately I have it not with me. But this is strsaight forward.
Hope it helps to get you running from there.

  • Mapping Function keys

I am trying to run a Mac port of Bioshock 2, a game that depends heavily on F-keys.  These do not work as they should. The distributors' FAQ says:
By default, Mac OS X uses the F keys to control items such as volume and brightness. To use an F key for a game command hold down the fn key, then press the F key you wish to use.
To automatically enable the F keys, follow these steps:
Open System Preferences ( Menu → System Preferences).
Click on Keyboard or Keyboard and Mouse (depending on the version of Mac OS X you are running).
    Select the Keyboard tab.
Check the Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys checkbox.
The F keys will now work without using the fn key.
This fails for me because my full-sized keyboards have no Fn key to toggle between F-key states, nor does the above route through Prefs appear on my (April 2008) 24" iMac.
Is there a known way to implement this toggling and map it to a game-unused key?

It is not really a requirement, but it can be helpful if more than one person is helping the OP with a question, or if the post covers a number of pages.
The keyboards I own are not Mac keyboards, but Logitech and Macally ones.  I need to script patch the OS/keyboard to fake a Fn key but don't know how to.  Has anyone a idea how I might take this further, please?
I have found a link to Logitech Instruction Manuals that might be easier for you to find what you need.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

  • I want to re-map my function keys without pressing fn button

    Hi
    I have a new MBP
I have unchecked the box that lets me use function keys for other than their original puroses
So now I can use e.g. my last volume button to work instead as a Mission Control / Show desktop function that is really useful for me as I have one funcitonal hand.
However I'd like to remap or reassign the function buttons. For example my F1 F2 now do nothing - I could assign them to certain other  functions, but I'd like to assign them back to screen brightness.
Is there a way I can do this?
And is there a way i can consign the dashboard to the bin, and use that button for something thats actually useful ?
    Thanks

I did not explain myself because that is patently NOT true. I have 4 laptops at this time. In all of them when I press F5, it is F5 not screen brightness or what ever. In order to access the 'blue' functions like screen brightness, keyboard lights, speaker volume etc. I have to press and hold the fn key. However, on my Envy, I have to press and hold the fn key to access F5 rather than just turning on and off the keyboard lights. Now I wish I could reword this thread.
OK. I don't claim to be perfect. I just looked at three of the notebooks currently at home The newest, which is a dv7-4180ea (HP loaner) has F keys is configured like on your Envy. The HP NX6320 and the Toshiba Satellite M305D have the F keys as main and have secondary functions. They are more straightforward with the use of the Fn key. It appears that it depends on what the manufacturers decided to do at the time.
BTW if you look back at my unedited post you will see that I did indeed qualify my statement when I wrote it with the word some. So that is not a patently untrue statement. I try to choose my words carefully.  I will edit this post so you can see what I mean.

  • Remote key mapping in Category table

    Hi,
We are not able to populate the Remote key in the Category table.
In standard repository the Category table only has one field 'Category Name' which is defined as Display Field.
In order for us to map customer file records which has UNSPSC code with our Category definitions we have added a field 'UNSPSC ID' in the Category table.
As 'Category Name' is the field that should be displayed we need to use the Remote Key function in order to get a unique identifier in the Category table for automatic mapping of supplier records to the Categories in the Category table. However, we are not able to populate the Remote key field in the destination table Categories.
The Category table has 'Key mapping' set to yes and in the Import manager we clone the field 'UNSPSC ID' and map the clone to destination field 'Remote Key'. However, 'Remote Key' does not come up as unique Matching field and performing the Import we can see that the Remote key is blank for all records in the category table.
Does anyone out there know what needs to be done in order to populate the 'Remote Key' in the Category table?
Please note that we are able to map and populate the Remote key field in other tables such as Product Group, Supplier etc but not in the Category table. Is there some special considerations as this is a taxonomy table?

  • Key mapping/ remote key

    Hi All,
I  have some understanding of key mapping internal functionality.
my question is ... should I use this key mapping feature from all look up tables, main table while importing from remote systems?
should all my feilds have REMOTE KEY enabled.
Lets say I have loaded data into my repository from 3 different remote systems(R1,R2,R3) using remote key feature.
Now, I want to see all the records that belong to R1 only or R2 only?
Can this be seen using remote mapping feature? or how can I see only specific records for one remote system.... should i create another field that identifies the source and just map it? ....... generally how do we handle this?
Also, have uploaded the data for my lookup table DIVISIONS,when i try syndicating it for remote R1......
in my destination preview i can see some records that belong to only R2 and R3 also. I mean I am not able to see only the
    records belong to R1 system.
    I mapped
    division <-> div
    desc     <-> desc
there are two more keys like remote key, v...... Should I also map these keys?
    Pls let me know,

    Hi,
my question is ... should I use this key mapping feature from all look up tables, main table while importing from remote systems?
should all my feilds have REMOTE KEY enabled.
    1. It is totally dpeend upon business requirement which table you want to  make remote enable.
The main reason to use remote key is to syndiacte the data to remote system specific.
So if you are syndication your subtables to then it is good to make remote key enable.
    2. Only tables are remote key enabled not the fields.
This is not possible as standard way.
But workaround is when you map the source field to remote key at destination side in import manager, just make the clone of source field and map it to the new fields to  store  the system from where the records came.
So in data manager you can search on this field  to see only  records that is specific to some remote system.
Also, have uploaded the data for my lookup table DIVISIONS,when i try syndicating it for remote R1......
in my destination preview i can see some records that belong to only R2 and R3 also. I mean I am not able to see only the
    records belong to R1 system.
    I mapped
    division <-> div
    desc <-> desc
there are two more keys like remote key, v...... Should I also map these keys?
Yes you have to map these fields as well.
Even after mapping this  option if you want to syndicate all the remote system records then there is option "override remote keys".after enabling this option  there is record generated for each remote system.
    hope it helps you.
    Thanks,
