Function module copy

Hi experts,
I need to copy the existing z function module code to new z function module with the same function group. I dont want to change function group name. Please send me the steps to do this. I will reward the points. Please help me.

Function modules copy from standard FM?

Hi All,
I am copying FM CS_BOM_EXPL_MAT_V2 into ZCS_BOM_EXPL_MAT_V2 for some calculation.
I already copied the Function group CSS4 into ZCSS4 but when I m using ZCS_BOM_EXPL_MAT_V2 in my program I am not
getting the right BOM.
Where I am worng plz let me know?

Copying a complete function group is fraught with future challenges, particularly because you will not get the benefit of any changes / fixes to the standard code that SAP may deliver in subsequent support packs... You may be better off enhancing the standard code or perhaps writing a "wrapper" around a call to the standard CS_BOM_EXPL_MAT_V2 (or the CS_BOM_EXPLOSION' function that it calls) and use this wrapper logic to customise the results returned to your calling program.

Urgent: Problems in Generic Extraction by Function Module

Hi BW Gurus,
I am new to SDN and also new to generic extraction using function module. My requirement is to extract long text(142 char) from CRM to BW as the text is not stored in database table I used function module read_text with in another ZXXX function module copy of (RSAX_BIW_GET_DATA_SIMPLE). In my extract structure I used GUID(char,32), Langu, long text(142 char) and 2 placeholders. Text can be extracted by passing STXH table fields(Tdname, Tdid, Tdobject, Tdspars) to read_text as parameters and i also need to use CRMD_ORDERADM_H field GUID(32 char) to compare 1st 32 chars of tdname(70 char) with Guid to select Guids and loop thru this Guids and for each Guid i need to append lines of text to e_t_data but as i donot know ABAP i unable to write the code for this. Through my friends help i wrote code when i check in RSA3 it is displaying the text but when i replicate into BW and load into data target in monitor the status is red with records initially but afterwards it will be red status again with 0 from 0 records for initial load again.when i check on job logs the errors i have are:
The background job has created a job log file of 2Gb size and it is currently on a infinite loop writing entries into the SAP System Log that it cannot write to the Job log file due to Error 22 for write/read access to a file this is because of the datasource i have created. Please find my Function module and if anyone would please correct FM and send me that will be really great.I appreciate it in advance.

Hi,
The statement RAISE NO_MORE_DATA should be active (uncommented) in your code. Otherwise, the infinte loop occurs.

Very urgent help needed in activating a function module

Hello experts.
I had a standard report and i copied into an z report. i need to change some field output , and that field is there in a standard function module.so i copied that fun module into z fun module and stored in a new fun group. Now it is showing the error in the z fun module. include in the fun module is giving the error stating that it is not existing. please help me in coping the standard fun module correctly . please its very urgent.

Hi,
You should not copy a Function module alone, as it will have some dependant INLCUDES and global data in TOP include of the function group.
SO if you want the function module copy the entire Function Group into Z function group.

How to copy the standarad function module

      i wants to copy the standard function module which are not rfc enabled. for that one i copied standard one and modified the attributes to rfc enabled. but it was giving the errors "You can only use LIKE and TYPE to specify types in RFC",
how can i solve my problem. pls help me.

1. In that FM, while after copying to Z,
2. there is a second parameter in IMPORT
WITH_TEXT
3. in the column of Associated type,
    it will be blank.
give some data element like CHAR30
   and also give type
4. Then it will not give the error.

Client copy Locked function module

HI,
I'm trying to make a client from client 400 to 420.
The problem is that the function module is locked by the current user (the same running the client copy); Then when It can't deletes the FM it states that it already exists:
"G_GLDB_POSTING_A already exists (include LGIVAU01)"
Afterwards the job gets cancelled due to a system exception ERROR_MESSAGE
The weird part is that it just happens for this client 420. There is also a copy from 400 to 410 and it works without a problem.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
You can check the client copy lock from SCC4 also, but it really matters if your client copy finished or not.
If you still see the client copy lock there then it seems your client copy is not finished properly. Try to login your new client 420 and start deletion using SCC5 and after that you can start/schedule new client copy during weekends.

Problem in copying a standard function module!

Hello there,
                 I need to copy the FM, RS_TABLE_LIST_DISPLAY, to a Y function Module. But I am not able to copy it as a single FM, I have copy all the FMs in that function group i.e. SETB.
                 I, then copied that standard function group SETB. I am getting a strange error message while activating the copied version. The error which I am getting is:
The parameter "INTTAB" of the global interface has already been defined outside the function.
INITTAB is some defined internal table.
Also the include in which this error is getting appeared is LY.....$07 something. I have tried to many times. Not able to resolve the issue.

Function module to copy INVOIC IDOC

One of our customers use the IDOC message type INVOIC. When the IDOC are received and the proces has been started, we will like to make a copy of the IDOC with the status code 70.
I know this functionality exist when we change the segment data using the transaction code BD87, and I have debugged this transaction, but the "copy" functionality are developed in the program SAPLEDI5 and not in a function module.
I am looking for a function module to handle this functionality. Hope you can help me.

To make a copy of idoc message type, you simply have to find the linked Function module of the Idoc. So for INVOIC, there would be a linked Function Module , you can copy the interface of the Function Module and build your own custom Function Module (Z function module) to attach it to the message type.
So the steps to your problem would be:
1. Copy the FM to attached mesaage type into a Z function module.
2. Write the functionality you require in your Z function module.
3. Attach the message type/ idoc type to this function module. The systematic steps to this can be simply carried out in the Transaction WEDI which is an area menu for EDI/IDOC . Depending on whether it is inbound/outbound, you can follow the steps.

Problem in copying the function module.

Hi All,
I have to Copy the standard function modules "FI_ITEMS_DISPLAY" and "ITEM_DERIVE_FIELDS".
The Function group for both of above FM is "FI_ITEMS".
What i did is I went to SE80 ,I copied down the Function Group 'FI_ITEMS' to 'ZFI_ITEMS'.
later on i copied the standard function modules 'FI_ITEMS_DISPLAY' and 'ITEM_DERIVE_FIELDS'
to the 'ZFI_ITEMS_DISPLAY' and 'ZITEM_DERIVE_FIELDS' resp.in the same function group 'ZFI_ITEMS'.
Then i made some changes to these copied modules (I did change the structure of it_items from RFPOSXEXT to ZRFPOSXEXT in ZFI_ITEM_ITEM_DISPLAY,and same change in ZITEM_DERIVE_FIELDS but for the parameter s_item).
And finally i activated these FM..and it got activated also.
But later on when i used these FM in my report...error occured saying that -
"The name of the function module to be called is "ZITEM_DERIVE_FIELDS".
but "ZITEM_DERIVE_FIELDS" cannot be found in its function group. "
hence i thought of activating the function group ZFI_ITEMS,which was inactive before to this...but when i tried activatin this FM it was giving hell lot of errors showing conflict occured at diffrent places,I think just because of the change (structure of IT_ITEM chnged from RFPOSEXT to customised ZZRFPOSXEXT).
I am helpless in removing all this errors ...
Can anybody suggest where did i go wrong?
And what is the right way to copy the function module.?
If possible reply me ASAP.

First, delete your new function group and
Do like this:
1. copy FI_ITEMS_DISPLAY to zFI_ITEMS_DISPLAY from Se37. here you find a button on the application toolbar to do it. It also asks about the Function group. GIve the FG as
ZFI_ITEMS.
Activate all the related objects
2. same for the other FM. Use the same FG. and activate the related objects.

Anybody knows of a function where I can copy values of a standard network in Project Systems module?

I'm not a ABAPer but I'll suggest you to debug the program SAPLCOKO and look at the functional modules (Function groups) that are involved.
Mentioned program belongs to Transaction CN41 -Create Network where you can create a network copying a standard network.

Copying Function Modules

Hi there, newbie ABAP er here,
I want to reset the SENDER value in FM SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1 from SPACE to a valid non-reply email address. Obviously I dont want to alter the Function module so I made a Z copy in my ZDEV package -> Function group -> Function module.
Seeing as the original FM was in Function group SOI1 I'm getting an error as various statements in the FM are tripping out as they are macros within SOI1 and probably cant be seen.
Can anyone advise the right way of cracking this?

I understand you do not have issues in creating the Function group,
but associating the z copy to the Z Function group is the problem.
Try this:
1) Take SO NEWDOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1 in se37, instead of se80.
Copy the FM, and make all neccesary code changes.
2) Now go back to SE80 and take your z Function group make sure the z Function module listed below it.
If not, try Goto->Update Navigation Index
3) Check the Top include of the Original Function group to find the include that uses the macros.
When you copy the function module alone, the entries in the associated Top include of the FG needn't be copied.
Include what you have found in your Function group's Top Include.
3) Now active the entire Function group.
= Or else (not recommended though) =
1) Create a z copy of the function Group
The FM, also gets copied as Z
2) Make neccesary changes and activate!

WBS copy via function module "K_PLAN_TO_PLAN_COPY"

Hi Experts
anybody please advise whether WBS copy to other via function module "K_PLAN_TO_PLAN_COPY"
is possible or not in below situation.
Currently we faced some issue when WBS satus is "TECO", we can not
copy WBS to another WBS (we want to copy whole wbs into others) by
function module "K_PLAN_TO_PLAN_COPY".
So we just change system status from TECO to REL then copy wbs to other,
however, we could face another issue with this way of copying. (since we
have to change wbs status, it could cause conflict against other project)
We want to copy wbs without changing wbs status via function module "K_PLAN_TO_PLAN_COPY".
Can it be possible? if yes, please advise how to, (settings/conditions/something like that)

The Function Module K_PLAN_TO_PLAN_COPY is not released for customers and therefore it is not intended to be used in customer specific programs or enhancements. For further details, please have a look SAP Note 109533.

Hi,
Is there an easy way to copy abap tables with the data to another destination table using function modules or sample codes?

What do you mean for "destination"? Another SAP system e.g. an RFC destination?
And what kind of table do you need to copy? Ztables? Standard Tables?
If you mean Standard Tables, your task isn't a safe procedure.
