FXML - Line break for text-attribute (LABEL)

Hi!
How to define a text with a line break for a label in FXML?
For example, I cant get this to work (\n):

If you use SceneBuilder Developer Preview 1.1 you will see that SceneBuilder generates this:
<Label layoutX="266.0" layoutY="172.0" text="Break
Line" />To enter a new line in a text label in SceneBuilder is easy (even though a bit hidden).
If you hover the mouse over the label text property in the Inspector (right hand side), you will see a little cog menu fading in. If you click on it - you will be able to 'Switch to multi-lines mode' - you can then enter a text with new lines - then save the file and see how it's been handled...

Line breaks in text editor

Hi,
I am facing the problem that when I read the content of the
texteditor, store it in a javascript variable, and then write it
again into the editor area, all line breaks (not html line breaks,
just the line breaks for the code structure) are gone.
For Example if the content of the Editor is the following:
Test line 1
Test line 5
If I know call my function the value of the texteditor will
be somethign like: "Test line1 Test line 5"
I tried finding the linebreaks and replacing them (either \n,
\r or \n\r) but had no success in doing that.
My code of the function:
var theDom=dw.getDocumentDOM();
var temp = theDom.documentElement.outerHTML;
theDom.documentElement.outerHTML="";
theDom.documentElement.outerHTML=temp;
So I assume Javascript and dw are using different formats,
but I cant find much information about whats being used.
Any help appreicated!

Use CHR(10) in text editor for a new line. for example( 'SAP' & CHR(10) & 'Visual' & CHR(10) & 'Composer') will display like,

Visual
Composer

How do I create a line break in an axis label

I have a very long x-axis label that needs some line breaks. I've tried every key combination I can think of to no avail. Does anyone know how?

There are a few ways to get line breaks.
First way: Go to the Chart Inspector, Axis tab. At the bottom it will either have references to the header cells it is using for labels or it will have a list of the labels. If it has references, use the second or third method. If it has text, go to the label you want to modify. Use Option-Return to put a line break in it.
Second way: This works when best before you create a chart and might work afterward if the chart is still refering to the header column and hasn't converted the labels to text. Use option-Return to create line breaks in the header cells of your table. In the screenshot below, the first label has no line breaks, the second has one, and the third has none but is simply wrapping to the next line in the cell.
Third way: If the chart inspector has references to the labels, go to the chart (not the table) and edit one of the labels. The inspector will now show text instead of references. Use the first method to add your line breaks.

File adapter-How to set line break in text file-split record into two lines

I have to solve following problem with XML (with mulitiple records) to TEXT file scenario using file adapter. I have to output for ever ONE data record in XML always two identical lines in text file. Second line should have a little bit different mapping in few fields like date,... So I did duplicate fileds in my output structure in mapping and need to know how to set line break in the middle and see half of structure in first line and next structure half in second line

Question is how can I set on receiving file adapter in Content Conversion Parameters that fields from first structure half INTERFACE...RENDITE should be outputed in one line and fields from second half of structure INTERFACE2...RENDITE2 should start on second line in final text file.

It wont help if I add two identical structures in mapping because in output i would see for multiple entries section with first lines only and after that section with second lines only. And CASHFLOW is one part of more complex mapping ...
(This is final output structure RecordsetStructure=HEADER,CASHFLOW,CONDITION,REFERENCE,CONTRACT - more sections with different data and all these should have duplicate lines at the end)

Putting constant 'nl' into field CASHFLOW-INTERFACE1 didnt help - still getting one line instead two lines.

Director imposes maximum line length for text?

I'm trying to learn Director again after years away and so much has changed. I can't find the answer for this after searching. To the best of my knowledge, I'm using the default installed settings for Dir. 11
I've been opening and updating old Dir. 6.5 files in Dir 11 and the text gets mangled. Long lines (10-20 inches) of headline text get the right side chopped off. My new movie size is 2560x1550 (for 30" monitor).
I'm trying to recreate these long lines of headline text (most are 48 pt helvetica x 20 + inches wide, some much bigger pt. size) by typing it in the text panel. This is difficult to describe: After 20 inches of text, according to the ruler, Director begins condensing the whole line, compacting it more as the text panel double-vertical-line expander bar is dragged right and expanded, opening the text field so lines don't break to a second line. Director alters the letter width and spacing of the line more as the panel expander is dragged to the right, basically smashing the line of text flush left more with every increment the panel is expanded right. If the text entry panel is expanded to the full width of my 30" monitor before typing any letters, then all the characters subsequently typed are distorted and compressed as they are typed in. This occurs with every font.
What is going on here? How to create line of live text longer than 20" that Director doesn't smash together?

How to replace line break for comma

header4,value4i can write the string to a file easy, but i need to make the every even number , to line break.

You may get a better way, but this is how I would do this:
-- split the string on comma
-- iterate through the array using a for i+=2 loop and concatenate every pair of strings with comma-space between.
db
edit And write the results to a new array of half the length, of course. Then write the new array to the file.

How to extract compiled stored procedure without line break for long statement

After I compiled stored procedure which contains long statement, the statement would cut into 2 rows into dba_source.
However, when I extract the codes from dba_source table, the source couldn't be compiled successfully because of
the broken lines.
For example, the following statement would be broken into 2 rows like this:
(line 1) gv_Message := 'Interface Description: Interface with Training '|| 'and Development Intran
(line 2) et (Evaluation Statistic Details)';

That's very strange. What did you originally compile it with (sql*plus, toad, etc...)? I was able to compile a procedure with the maximum line length (2499 characters see error SP2-0027) and there is no split. Is the procedure in a VALID state with that line break? Honestly, this seems very odd, possibly even a bug here somewhere.

Excel uncertainty for text attributes

I'm trying to evaluate a text attribute in an excel spreadsheet to <uncertain>. If I type uncertain into the "else" clause of the table then I get uncertain come through as a text value - not the OPA reserved useage of <uncertain> in the debugger. Is there a way around this? If the same rule is modelled in a Word table it works okay but I really want to use Excel.

I recreated the behaviour too. There may be a better workaround but I checked and this one definitely works.
In a Word document (a system rule doc somewhere) create the following rule table:
the uncertain text attribute
uncertain | the current date > 2000-01-01
uncertain | otherwise
Declare the uncertain text attribute as a text.
This is guaranteed to be always uncertain.
Then in your Excel Else row, write the following (the uncertain text attribute)
The brackets are used to reference the attribute name explicitly.

I have a vertical bar chart created in OBIEE 11g. The horizontal axis (x-axis) is a compound of Scenario, Year, and Month. The chart width is already long enough so it cannot be made any longer.
The chart looks like this (the label of horizontal axis is staggered):

I could not try this yet, but how about 'Enabling the Contains HTML Markup' for the columns for Heading and including a '</br>' tag at the end of the name.
Ex: Column - >Properties -> column Format -> Column Heading -> Enable Contains HTML Markup -> Column Heading's suffix =less than symbol /br greater than symbol (Oracle forums is even break the line too!! ;) So included the text)

why do you use a TextArea instead of JTextArea?
awt components are heavyweight, and most swing components are lightweight.
awt use the operating system graphic to draw the component (this makes it heavyweight). swing also use the system graphic to draw the component (top level component), but compoents such as JPanel, JButton, JTextArea, etc.. are drawn by the Java application over the toplevel component.
There are severals advantages of using swing.
1. your application gui will be rendered more correctly on different operating system
2. swing have more features that you can use
3. swing have more components
