FXML: Sizes relative to screen size

Hi,
I am currently trying to set up a PerspektiveTransform which is somehow relative to the Stages size. Is there any way of accessing the stages, size or will i have to inject this via the FXMLLoader?
greetings,
andreas

From any node you can get the scene (getScene() on Node), and from there get the Stage (getStage() on Scene). As long as everything is wired up by the time the code in question executes, you should be able to get the Stage in this way.

  • Image size related to screen resolution - Questions

Trying hard to get my head around picture dimensions vs quality vs screen/printer resolution, can anyone confirm if what I think I understand is correct.
My Canon RAW images are 3888 x 2592 pixels. If I export from LR a full sized JPEG (at 100% quality) I get an image that is 3888 x 2592 pixels in size. So the questions:
    1) If I open the JPEG in something simple like Windows Picture Viewer and hit the 'Actual Size' button then put simply is each pixel in the picture lighting up a pixel on the screen ?
    2) If I zoom out then presumably there are more picture pixels than screen pixels so some data is thrown away and there is some downsizing of the image ?
    3) If I zoom in then there is not enough data and there is some intrpolation to upsize the image ?
What I'm actually trying to get to grips with is, if i want to post pics online or e-mail them, when to drop the quality a bit to save filespace and when to change image size.
    Cheers

Downsample a LOT for email and quite a lot for web viewing. Not only might they not look as good as they should, people will not be happy waiting for a 3000+ pixel image to download to them.
    A "full width"
Of course, if someone wants to print the photo, then you need to maintain the resolution and they should know it will take some time to download.
If you want to see what size others use for the web and can't estimate by looking at it on your monitor in a browser, you can find out the dimensions of a picture you are viewing. In Firefox and windows, right click on the photo and select properties.
flickr, for example, resizes to various sizes. Even though you can upload full size images to flickr, you might not want to do so to protect your full-size image from being used.

  • Unsanity related blue screen of death

I decided to post this as a separate thread from the ongoing blue screen of death, as that thread seems to be mostly related to those upgrading to Leopard. My situation is slightly different.
There appears to be two separate issues related to this blue screen of death (perhaps more than two). The two that I'm aware of are as follows:
    1. Users who upgrade a machine to Leopard
    2. Users who have Leopard, and tried to install Unsanity utilities.
I'm in the latter camp. We just got a new MacBook, and it was already loaded with Leopard. I installed all the updates, and a few other software titles, everything worked fine. No boot problems. I then tried to install a couple of Unsanity utilities, and I got the error that they could not run on this OS. I figured, no problem. The system continued working.
However, a week later, when we tried to boot the Macbook again, we got the blue screen of death. We see the Apple logo, then the blue screen with an active cursor. We waited for hours and hours, and it never changed. We tried disk utility from the install disk, but it found no problems with the internal drive. We tried safe boot, but it would not safe boot (i.e., even holding the shift key, we get the blue screen of death).
How can I access the hard drive so that I can try and clean up the Unsanity mess?

There's an article in the last Mac World that addresses Unsanity and the blue screen.

  • T500 making annoying sound related to screen activity

My new T500 (model 2082-9HG) apparently causes a strange cricket-like high-pitched computer-sound everytime something changes on the screen. It's pretty loud and chirpy at times. Seems to come from somewhere under the [Insert] button or maybe even from the right-channel speaker but I did not trace it with a directional microphone yet.
I was wondering if this is normal, and if and how it can be eliminated. I'm prepared to open the T500 myself, if that is what is required. I'm not  prepared to send it away for this, because I don't expect Lenovo to 'solve' this, since it seems hardware-related. They probably used cheap parts or bad shielding somewhere in the T500 and I doubt they will admit to such fault in their design.
I've 'denoised' ans silenced strange noisy computer-electronics before, using foam and kit and glue and such things, but perhaps a manual for this particular noise-source already exists. Can't imagine being the only or first one with this complaint.
Any and all info on this highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance!

I don't have that issue so I can't hear it at all. Of course mines a 2081-CTO from last year, which could explain why. The only time my system beeps is in a BIOS, doing something wrong, when the power is low or when I'm connecting my power cable to it.
Odds are, IT IS cheap parts that's causing the problem.

  • Camera related blue screen error, why?

When I plug in my iPhone 3GS to my Win32 XP Pro I get a blue screen error as soon as iTunes opens.
I have tried several fixes.  I updated my BIOS, uninstalled and reinstalled the iPhone camera driver and used different USB ports.
So far nothing has worked.  Please help. (I already know a phone upgrade will help)

I forgot to mention that I don't have this problem when I plug in my iPad to this computer.

  • Warning icon on Engineer to Relational Model screen

Engineer to Relational Mode l shows warning icon on Attributes, Entities and Logical labels. I don't see the reason.
Do you know what this warning icon is about and how to tackle it?
    Thanks,
    Prakash

    Hi Prakash,
Engineer to Relational Mode l shows warning icon on Attributes, Entities and Logical labels. I don't see the reasonThis mean something is changed. You can click on object and should look at details tab. Entity is composite object and it'll get warning mark also if some of components are changed.
At "compare/copy options" tab you can exclude some properties from compare process if you don't want them to be considered.

  • Make Text and Other Items Larger or Smaller - Default? (related to screen resolution)

In Windows 7, when you go to set the screen resolution, there is a link to "Make Text and Other Items Larger or Smaller."  The default I've always seen is is "Smaller - 100%" in our deployments.  For some reason, after my new deployment that
I'm working on, it is set to "Medium - 125% as the default."
This changed when I imported the display drivers needed for the HP8440 laptop the deployment is going on. Before, Windows was just using a generic driver that maxed at 640x480 and the user had to manually install the drivers. Now that I've imported the drivers
into the deployment, the default resolution is 1920x1200 as it should be, but this one last default is making it look like there is a smaller resolution.
Is there any way, in the deployment, to set this option to "Smaller - 100%" as the default?
This is what I am seeing after Windows loads for the first time:

I get "Invalid syntax" when I try to run that. I've gone through the help on the REG command, and everything seems to be in order. I also opened CMD as administrator. I've tried some different variations on the command (quotes around the path, etc)
but nothing seems to work. Any ideas?
You're getting an invalid syntax since it contains a space betweeen 'Windows' and 'NT' when using command lines, spaces will break the commands to be executed since it thinks that spaces are delimiters for syntax value's.
    REG ADD "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\FontDPI" /v LogPixels /t REG_DWORD /d 0x60 /f
Edit; The thread starter had success with using the following path instead "HKCU\Control Panel\Desktop"
It should work like it's written above using quotes around the entire path. Without the quotes you'll receive a syntax error. However unless the command is executed in an elevated command prompt you'll get an access is denied error. And finally the /f switch
is required to override the entry without prompt, since if the command if executed in an elevated command prompt it will detect the current value and ask whether you want to overwrite it or not.
P.S. I verified if it executes properly.
    Kind regards,
    Stephan Schwarz.

  • ITS Mobile screen sizes too small on iPhone device

    Hi Everybody,
I am facing the some problems relating to screen sizes on iphone mobile. The ITS service and the templates were working fine at the desktop level..But, in iPhone, screen sizes are too small to view.We need to zoom it and enter.I have tried with screen format 16X20 and 16X20ITS.
Can any body provide the solution to fix the problem?
    Regards,
    Mahesh

You must have a very high resolution screen, also called HiDpi.
If you have Photoshop CC 2014, you can go to Edit > Preferences > Experimental Features and checkmark "Scale UI 200%"
If you have CC, CS6, or below, there is no way to scale the UI as of yet. There may not be. These products are no longer being updated.
At best I can recommend reducing the resolution down to around 1400 px horizontal. That's not the native resolution and defeats the purpose of having a Hidpi screen.
So only thing left aside from returning the laptop, is to work with a large external monitor, or for $10/monthly, join the Photography Plan and you can use CC 2014 and the 200% UI.

  • Screen painter related doc link in SAP portal

    hi all,
i need some links in the SAP portal related to " screen painter addon-on " in SAP B1.  i need documents explaining about how to work on it, any guide to work on it. kindly reply me the links related to it in the portal.

    Hi,
Once you install the screen painter in your B1 application (as any other addon, you need .ard and installer.exe files) you have a button giving you access to the Screen Painter help file. In there you will learn how to use the ScreenPainter.
    Hope it helps

  • Odd (semi-transparent or so) screen problem

    Hi,
I have an odd problem with my T61 (model: 7664, type: 19G, OS: Windows XP SP2). Every now and then after booting up my PC I get an really odd looking screen: it is as if transparent (double view would be more correct because the layer I'm seeing is actually a copy of the correct view only shifted a bit). Also the view has a vertical stripe pattern. It is very hard to describe, so I've made couple of images.
Here is a photo of a normally functioning screen: http://bayimg.com/bAeJNAACN
Here is a photo of this odd phenomenon: http://bayimg.com/CaEjbAACn
And a screen shot showing the same: http://bayimg.com/CAEjcAAcN
    What I know is, that:
    - The resolution/bit depth and refresh rate is right
    - It is only display related, a screen shot confirms that - the shot is right, the photo isn't
    - It is LCD panel related, because this never happens on my external display
    - It is not related with me not installing the newest video driver, because I've tried few of the newest versions to no avail.
    What helps:
    - Rebooting the PC
    - Changing the video output from panel to external couple of times
    - Sometimes even waiting a bit helps
Does somebody have a clue or any ideas of what test could be performed to sort this one out? Thanks for any kind of input.
    solarsd

Solution: It appears that some kind of combination between Internet Explorer 6+ and iWeb '08 results in these transparency errors when elements in your pages have and transparency set to them. The answer? Just design your site without transparency settings in iWeb, which means, do not set a transparency amount on elements in your iWeb layout using the Graphics inspector. Rather, make those transparent elements in Photoshop and save them as either a transparent GIF or 24-bit transparent PNG (preferred in most cases).
Mark this one as solved. Not iWeb's problem, IE 6+'s problem. Since Firefox on PC and Mac and Safari all render correctly.

  • WINDOWS 8 SCREEN SAVER NOT TURNING ON

I have a TouchSmart with Windows 8 and the screen saver will not turn on.  Will work in preview but will not function.  Have tried all available screen savers and applied all with no luck.  Any ideas out there?

It was a long shot --
It does seem that if you want to splay a picture on the screen after a certain time, then you should be able to do so.
It might be the same as letting the screen "rest" in darkness, saving the screen, making the world a better place, all of that:
The computer should work the way you expect when the feature is offered to work a certain way.
    Just some ideas...
All the settings for your "Screen Saver" should be set to just less than any "dimming" or "display off" settings
Have you tried setting the Screen Saver to "None" and seeing if the screen can at least go to "dark" after the set time?  That would be something - it would tell you that the mechanism is working.
    Related to Above:
Try setting Background to None, set the time to say a minute less than the time you let the display dim/go-off, Reboot the computer to make sure the setting is "in place", and then test.
Have you tried using one of your own pictures?  If you do not have one, try downloading a picture from a location you trust - say from NASA if you are interested in "Things that are Star-Stuff"
The issue may be related to screen resolution vs. the resolution of the photo or "saver" you are trying to use.  There may be some sort of conflict.  This goes back to choosing either a different screen resolution or a different photo.
Do you have an extra monitor attached?  There may be a resolution conflict with the extra monitor if you have "extended view" set and the two resolutions are not compatible in some bizarre fashion.  Even if there is no conflict; if you do have an extra monitor attached, try turning if off and see if it makes a difference.

  • Isuue realated to screen

    Hi All,
I have a query here related to screens.
The problem here is i want to skip two screens of a called transaction is it possible to do so.
If it is so please help me out.
    Thanks,
    krishnakumar

    Hi,
You can skip the first screen for a transaction using
CALL TRANSACTION <t_code> AND SKIP FIRST SCREEN .
    For more than 1 screen,
CALL TRANSACTION <t_code> USING itab .
Calls the transaction tcod and passes the internal table itab, which contains one or more screens in batch input format.
The Return Code is set as follows:
    SY-SUBRC = 0:
    Processing was successful.
    SY-SUBRC <> 0:
    Transaction ended with an error.
