Gateway Max TG799 printer settings

Just received and installed my Gateway Max modem but can't get the printer to work with either USB or ethernet cable. Previous setup was via USB with TG587 using TCP/IP 10.0.0.137 port...thanks

    Hey Berry,
Do you have issues with your Wi-Fi on any other device? Or only the Printer? When is this error coming up? When you try to initially connect? Or when you're printing?

  • Help with Gateway TG799 Firewall settings Please

We have a Telstra Gateway Max TG799vac.
We have recently acquired our own domain name and have setup up an online store on Shopify.
So the underlying web address (on myshopify.com) is not the same as our URL of the shop. When we try to access the new site from any computer or device from within our house
we are blocked 90% of the time. It occasionally will connect. We are therefore unable to do admin on our own site.
I have tried USB tethering thru my phone's data and works 100% no worries. This bypasses the gateway and Telstra of course.
Anyone outside our home can always connect no worries.I have suspected the Firewall in the gateway TG799 device.
So I went into settings and changed the firewall setting down to the LOW setting.
Then we can connect all the time.
When in NORMAL or HIGH then we get this intermittent (mostly failed) connection.
After this experiment I am convinced it has something to do with the internal firewall. There is also a USER DEFINED section where you can set your own firewall rules
but I don't know enuff about what to do in there to experiment.
But I think I could set up a rule in there to allow this site to work for us if I knew how to go about it.I have been unable to find anyone within the normal Telstra tech help line who can help with this.Does anyone on here have any such knowledge or can give me a pointer where I can read/learn about how to do this for myself.Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Steph,The fact that these devices are updated by Telstra remotely without our prior knowledge explains alot.It explains why the problem I first reported just started to happen out of the blue.It also explains why it just as mysteriously disappeared. It also explains why we suddenly had trouble with our phones dropping the wifi connection constantly. And why that suddenly fixed itself as well. It also explains why we suddenly got a monstrous over-use on our data bill on our Telstra mobile. We thought we were safe in our own house to use data on this phone knowing it was connected to our wifi and therfore our BigPond plan. What we did not know was that the phone was loosing sync with the wifi and therefore dropping back to 3G plan data use without our knowledge. My wife had been using her phone to connect to a Chinese movie streaming site and of course when the wifi dropped out she did not know she was streaming thru her 3G plan. Massive unexplained data over-use resulted. I had a rough time convincing your billing organisation that we were using wifi (or thought we were anyway) for the movies and they would not believe us therefore the monster bills were upheld. We did not reaslise until far too late that the phone was loosing the wifi connection without us knowing. We have stopped using that service now and as soon as the credit we accumulated with the associated billing stuff-ups is used up we will be leaving Telstra for another less troublesome provider. How about giving us poor defenseless users some notice that our devices have been updated and a summary of what aspects have been changed. Just like happens with apps on the Google Play store. I will now be approaching your billing organisation once more armed with this knowledge. My argument will be that our over-use on 3G data stemmed from a bad firmware update without our knowledge in your modem causing us to over-use 3G data we were not aware of. This time if they don't listen then it will be time for a complaint to the TIO. And perhaps even a media story. Disgusting service! And one angry Telstra customer.

  • Set up Telstra ADSL T-Gateway or Telstra Gateway Max modem

When you received your Telstra T-Gateway or Telstra Gateway Max, you should have also received a power supply and an ADSL filter.
    Step 1
Unplug your phone from the wall socket.
    Step 2
Connect the filter to the wall socket.
    Step 3
Connect your telephone to the socket labelled 'LOCAL PHONE' on the ADSL filter.
    Step 4
Connect the end of the ADSL modem cable to the grey DSL socket on the back of the Telstra T-Gateway or Telstra Gateway Max.
Once you have completed Steps 1 - 4, this is what your set up will look like.
    Step 5
Connect one end of the power cable to the gateway and the other end to a power outlet.
For instructions on activating and checking your internet connection, connecting your computer or devices, managing your gateway and troubleshooting, visit our user guides section.

All I want to do is connet a USB printer to the gateway. SO much cfap to get no where. Thanks Telstra

  • Help for Netgear C6300 modem configurations - aka Telstra Gateway Max

Creating a new board for users needing assistance with configuring the Netgear C6300 as was being discussed in the below thread.

    - Shelly

    Hi David,
The C6300BD, should be able to support this.  However none of this is supported by Telstra's regular tech support channels.
When you move MachineA to Site2 the settings within MachineA will need to be reconfigured to reflect the IP address at the new location.
Most of the settings involved in setting up your RDP or VPN are configured on the PC's (Machines) themselves. So I would recommend that you talk to your IT people about this.
Some links which may prove helpful:
The Microsoft website has instructions on how to do this you can start here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-au/windows/connect-using-remote-desktop-connection#connect-using-remote-desktop-connection=windows-7
You  may also need to know how to port forward some of the incoming connections, you can find instructions on your modem model here at these 3rd party sites,

  • Firmware update - Cable Telstra Gateway Max - Netgear C6300

Firmware update - Cable Telstra Gateway Max - Netgear C6300
Good news. Over the next couple of weeks we will be rolling out an update to our Telstra Gateway Max. The firmware updates will roll out in the early morning and this process is expected to finish by mid May  for all devices.
    The current firmware: Version 1.01.06
    The upgraded firmware: Version 1.04.02
    UPDATE 10/06/2015
I have confirmed that the roll out was halted so that additional fixes can be included.  Those who already received the most recent update will also receive the next update.
This should resume over the next few weeks.
    What you need to do
Nothing. The new firmware will be remotely upgraded on active Cable Broadband services that have this gateway connected. The upgrade will occur during the early morning so as to minimise disruption to the customer. The gateway should automatically go through the process of upgrading and come back online when finished. All settings will be retained.
If you experience any issues with the gateway not coming back online, restarting the gateway should resolve in most instances.
Customers who connect a new modem after the roll out has been completed, can expect their modem to be automatically updated within 48 hours of registration.
    What’s better
The majority of the updates are improvements the previous firmware version. These include:
    • Flexibility in supporting larger external media storage devices such as external hard drives and USB sticks
    • Greater stability in the Wi-Fi
    • Improvements to VPN tunnelling functionality in the gateway
    • Media streaming improvements
    • General gateway Control Panel (GUI) look and feel improvements
    What’s new
    1. Wi-Fi Mesh, is a new feature that is developed to work in conjunction with supported Telstra Wi-Fi range extenders. It allows for a single wireless network name to be shared by all devices and automatic connection to a stronger Wi-Fi signal source within your home.
The Telstra Wi-Fi Extender Max is expected to be launched in late May.
    2. “Time of Day Parental Controls” feature, giving customers the ability to put rules on individual devices connected to their gateway, based on time. This complements the already existing “Keyword Filtering Parental Controls” feature that was already available, giving customers greater control over the viewing habits of users.
Customers can access this new feature by logging into the gateways’ Control Panel via the Basic or Advanced menu. To do this:
    i. Type in http://telstra.gateway/ in a web browser on a device that is connected to the gateway (either via    Wi-Fi or Ethernet cable)
    ii. Begin Parental control feature
         a. via the Basic Menu by clicking “PARENTAL CONTROL” along the top menu and select the “Time of          Day Access” tab
         b. via the Advanced Menu by clicking “ADVANCED VIEW” along the top menu and select the “Time of          Day Access” along the left hand side menu
    iii. Click on “Add Rule”
iv. Setup a rule that applies to the customers’ needs and click “Apply” to Save.
Rules can be applied for each individual device or by network type i.e. Ethernet or Wi-Fi.

  • Telstra Gateway Max - Static IP issue

Hi, I just got my new Gateway max modem, I created a static IP for my printer e.g. 10.0.0.50, as soon as I did this I was not able to access the internet, I investigated and relalised that i.e. DNS stopped working. I tried power cycling the modem twice with no success. I decided to remove the static IP and everything worked again. Do you have any suggestions on what I can do to fix this ThanksAndrew

    Software Version: 5510_V10106
    Software Version(Linux): 2.6.30.V1.01.06
Are these the details that you asked for?
    Thanks for your help.

    Hi Jozef,
I was setting up the Static IP or DHCP Reservation Lease info on my gateway just then.
Just to check you are also doing the same:
    1. you specify the MAC address of the device you want to have a Static IP assigned
    2. assign a nominated IP address
    3. hit the "add" button
    4. hit the 'clear dhcp leases' button
    5. disconnect your device from the network
    6. reconnect the device to your network
NOTE: step 4, is only done to clear the entry against the same MAC address that received a dynamic IP assignment from the table.
Using the above, my macbook pro IP address changed from the dynamic IP to the Static IP i assigned. (see image)

  • Safari doesn't remember print settings

    hi all
i'm using safari 1.3.2 under panther, & i want to print a bunch of web pages with a layout of 2 pages of text per printed page. this works fine when i use the layout feature in the print dialog box, but the problem is that i have to do this every time. how can i get safari to remember my previous print settings? or is this possible?
thanks in advance for any suggestions/comments!
    brian

    Hi Brian,
I'm not on my Mac at the moment, but if memory serves, I believe after making the necessary customisation with regards to layout, paper handling, you can click on the 'presets' field and save your particular scheme for use in the future. I'm not sure if you can specify a user-created scheme as default but I'd imagine it's possible as well.
I hope Tiger and Panther are similar at least in that respect. All the best!

  • How to change default internet access password in Gateway Max (for cable)

Hi All, My home boardband (home bundle with cable) connection has just been installed. I am trying to change the default internet access password. But I can not find out where to set the new password in my Gateway Max configuration page (192.168.0.1).Is there anyone having idea about that please? RegardsCheng

Hi Yeldarb, Maybe I do not describe the issue clearly. The "admin/password" is used for accessing gateway modem configuration page. But it is not what I want now. I am wondering the method for changing the default password which modem use to connect the telstra server. I think every telstra boardband client would have one username/password pair for access internet, right?

  • Any way to override default printer settings into a PDF

Hi -- I work for a large organization that has lots of computers and printers and prints a lot of forms and documents.  We are moving towards more digitization of documents and records including printing forms as needed as opposed to having large sets of forms onhand.  This should save us a lot of time and money once complete as these forms often change and the old process would be to then trash much of these documents and re-print for just one change.  The majority of our printers do have letter & legal trays as well as duplex support, however due to the vast number of users the default printer settings tied to each user and/or computer may be slightly different.  While standardizing all the printer settings across all users/computers would be one solution, we don't anticipate doing this as depending on the job peformed the different settings may be more preferable / advantageous for that user.
As such the other solution I can think of is to hardcode the specific printer settings needed to correctly print a large document into that PDF file which may differ from that computer's print settings.  For example, the default computer print settings may be to print on just 1 side but duplex would be encoded / scripted directly into the PDF so IRREGARDLESS of the computer/printer settings this document would always print duplexed.
Is there anyway to do this?  I would need to do more than just duplexing -- ie some form sets would need to be both duplexed and 'fit to printable area' whereas some would need to be only on one page and 'shrunk to printable area', etc, etc.  Our current practice is to insert a 1 page coversheet at the front of each document with the printer settings that need to be used for that form set, however this has been difficult for some users to do and has caused unnecessary time with our IT troubleshooting form printing.
    -Brandon

    Hi Brandon,
You can use the Print Presets in Acrobat for that purpose. Please follow the steps below:
    1. Open the PDF in Acrobat
    2. Open Document Properties dialog (using Ctrl + D)
    3. Select the "Advanced" tab
    4. In the "Print dialog Presets" section, you can choose DuplexMode as well as Page Scaling for this document.
Please let us know if this works for you

    Hello Sankar  ,
as you refer to the legacy technology VB6 I recommend to post this query to the [Legacy Application Development SDKs|SAP Crystal Reports - Legacy SDKs; forum.
This forum is dedicated to topics related to legacy SDKs, including the Report Designer Component (RDC), OCX, VCL, and Crystal Reports Print Engine (CRPE).
It is monitored by qualified technicians and you will get a faster response there.
Also, all Legacy Application Development SDKs queries remain in one place and thus can be easily searched in one place.

    crReport.PaperSize = crPSS

  • Print settings for ALV report

I have a ALV report output with LINE-SIZE 1023.  But when I try to execute the report in background the output row is not coming in one line but in 2 lines. When we run the report in background I gave the printer as 'LOCL' (local) and displayed in spool.  In the PRINT SETTINGS I don't see FORMAT for 65 X 1023. Do I need to create one? If yes, how to create it? Or if there is any other way go get all the cloumns in one row of a ALV output.
    Thank you.

    Hi,
<b>Change the font on the X_65_255 paper size :-</b>
This tip was taken from the SAP-R3 mailing list, <b>and is by Sheila Tichener</b>.
If you need to use a large line-size to get all your data in I know the sap version of X_65_255 for hp laser jet 4 gives an unnecessarily small font . You can change it in SPAD (or copy to Y_65_255) as follows.
    <b>Example:</b>
    Choose Device formats, Change
    hplj4
    x_65_255
    Execute
    Double click on printer initialisation
    Change from:-
    # select Courier 16.67 CPI normal font
    e(s0p16.67h0s0b4099T
    to:-
    # select arial 24 cpi 15 point normal
    e(s0p24h15v0s0b16602T
    Also bold as follows:-
    # select arial 24 cpi 15 point bold
    e(s0p24h15v0s3b16602T
Also the error you get when changing a format in the output screen is only a warning and can be overidden by pressing the green tick.
If the sap standard formats don't fit your requirements you can create your own eg Y_65_170 . It seems to be the numbers in the name that somehow triggers which one the abap chooses

  • How to transfer printer settings from one Mac to another (both OSX)?

Hello, I have not found a detailed description on how to transfer printer settings from one Mac to another.
My issue is that I have a Mac G5 with 3 different settings saved as "presets" for the same printer. This works great, since the posters I print (on the large format printer) need different margins and different paper at times.
This G5 is basically retired and only used for printing. G5 has OSX 10.3.9
I have a MacPro as its replacement (OSX 10.4.11).
The MacPro has all my apps and other settings setup to my liking.
I found several links via Google saying copy this folder or directory, but I am not sure I did it correctly. I don't see the "presets".
I tried launching the Migration Assistant (I hope that's the correct name), but was concerned the settings on the new MacPro would be overwritten with ALL the old stuff on the older G5. I did not start the transfer process because of this.
If someone would list the steps needed to accomplish the transfer of printer settings or advise if this is possible, then I would be very grateful! The previous user of the G5 I am using was a "Genius" and I don't know how he created these "preset" choices.
    Thanks!

Hi SCChelpdesk, and a warm welcome to the forums!
I found several links via Google saying copy this folder or directory, but I am not sure I did it correctly. I don't see the "presets".
This is the File that holds that info on Tiger, not certain on Panther...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.print.custompresets.plist
After moving, you very well might have to change the Owner's Permissions within Get Info window, then log out/in.
I tried launching the Migration Assistant (I hope that's the correct name), but was concerned the settings on the new MacPro would be overwritten with ALL the old stuff on the older G5. I did not start the transfer process because of this.
MA would transfer the info, but/and, if the user that had that info had the same Shortname as on the new one, it'll demand you give it a new Shortname to use... but then those settings would be transferred to that new user on the new machine. I think the 1st one will work though.
The previous user of the G5 I am using was a "Genius" and I don't know how he created these "preset" choices.
We can go through that way if you like... not all that hard.

  • Don't have printer settings for Epson CX9400fax since upgrading to SL

I recently upgrade my operating system from Tiger to Snow Leopard (after a HD crash). I have an Epson CX9400fax all-in-one machine and I am able to print, but I no longer have the Printer Settings options as before - where you can change paper, ink, etc. I'm trying to print from Photoshop CS5, if that's relevant at all.
This is what I am looking for:
    tons of options/setting to adjust
And this is what I have now:
    basically just print.
    Here's the driver info:
Is this something on Epson's end that hasn't been updated yet?
I've looked around, both here and online and haven't really got anywhere. If ANYONE can help, I will be very appreciative.
Oh, and I'm a first-timer so please be nice :0)

    Hi,
Welcome to Apple Discussions. I had the same problem with my Epson printer and solved it by going to Apple Support [here|http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4169]. You can rearrange your printer settings using CUPS from there. Also, click on the triangle to the right of the Printer Name window to get an expanded menu.
Good luck and a Merry Christmas.
