Gateway on cloud and Business Suite on premise

Hi
Are there any guides or blogs that can help install Fiori with the Frontend Server on cloud and the backed server on company premise?
Best practices or case studies will be helpful.
regards
AKD

Hi AKD,
Almost all the Fiori content is posted or linked as part of the "What is SAP Fiori UX?" landing page here.  Most Fiori Discussions are in the SAP for Mobile community like the landing page.  There are also some SAPUI5 Fiori Discussions in the UI Development Toolkit for HTML5 Developer Center.

  • Looking into starting a business using creative cloud and business catalyst

    Hi,
I am just looking for a bit of clarification on a few things. I am looking at using Creative cloud and Business Catalyst for a new business.
Firstly, if I have both a Mac and a PC, will one creative cloud subscription allow me to install on both?
Secondly, with Business Catalyst if I am wanting to make more than 5 websites, do I have to use the partner plan? or is this just if I want to make comission? Basically can I pay individually for subscriptions to more than 5 sites on behalf of customers without paying the initial partner fee while I am starting up? Obviously long term the partner option makes sense but short term for start up it would be useful to just sell the adobe subscriptions without earning comission. Hope this makes sense?
Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks
    Adam

    Hi Adam,
I'm very happy to hear that you want to start a business using BC and Creative Cloud - this is one of the goals of our integration.
To you first question, yes, you can install Creative Cloud on both your machines.
To your second question - you don't need to be a paid partner while you're starting up. You can remain a free partner, and just buy supplemental websites from the Partner portal. You're right, you won't get the comission, but it's a pretty good deal anyway.
If you're starting up, I also strongly recomment the BCGurus "Zero to BC Hero" training program - not only they explain you the BC product, but they also include a lot of great business insights on running a web agency
    Sincerely,
    Alexandru

  • SAP Applications and Business Suite Installed on an SAP System

    Hi to all SAP gurus,
I have a couple of questions:-
    1) Is there any way to find out about the SAP applications installed on an SAP system? I used CCMS to find out about the Installed SAP
components. But does this list give the correct information? Also, can we find out which are the major and minor components from this list?
    2) Can there be more than one business suite (CRM, SRM, SCM etc.) installed on a single SAP system? Or is it always the case that a single SAP system can have only one business suite installed on it so that it can either be a CRM system, SRM system or something else.
    3) Is there any way (Any database table or RFC function) I can find out out about the business suite installed on a particular SAP system? One thing I saw in SAP GUI is that the title bar reads "Customer Relationship Management" if it is a CRM system. Is this a fool-proof way to find out whether an SAP system is a CRM system, SRM system etc. If yes, will this information be stored in a database table or is there any RFC function so that I can get this data programatically?
Please bear with my BIG questions. I would be grateful if any of you guys can help me on these questions. Please let me know if I have to provide clarity on any of my queries. Thanks in advance

    Hi Mike,
Thanks a lot for your suggestions.
I did some research towards this as suggested by you.
    1) I tried out SPAM. But this is giving more or less the same information that I am already getting using the database table "CVERS" or the RFC function module "DELIVERY_GET_INSTALLED_COMPS". Both of these give information about the installed SAP components. But these modules don't give the precise information as to which particular business suite application is installed on the SAP system.
    2) I checked out the site -http://service.sap.com/instguides but couldn't get much help on here. I couldn't exactly get any information about the combinations of the business suite applications
that can be installed on an SAP system.
However, I was curious about one thing which I observed on my SAP system. The SAP GUI title bar reads "SAP Easy Access Customer Relationship Management". Can we be come to a conclusion that this is an SAP system with CRM installed on it?
Also, the installed components for this system lists "BBPCRM" as one of the application component. Can we say that this is a CRM system by looking at this? If yes, are you aware of such a similar component for the other applications SRM, PLM, SCM which tells us about the business suite application installed on the SAP system?
    3) I did some rigorous search for RFC function modules that give the information I need. I came across 2 RFC function modules which give information on the SAP applications installed on an SAP system:-
    a) TERM_GET_TOPLEVEL_COMPONENTS
    b) SKWF_APPLS_GET
The function module "TERM_GET_TOPLEVEL_COMPONENTS" is showing a list of business suite applications installed but I am not sure if it's giving the correct information because it shows both CRM and SRM in the applications list for an SAP system.
I'd be most interested for your further suggestions regarding this.
    Thanks again

  • Queries on Fusion P2P (on cloud) and Oracle GL (on premise) coexistence

I have a few queries around co-existence model e.g Fusion P2P on Cloud with R12 GL on premise.
In the Oracle Enterprise Repository (OER) , there is a scenario for coexistence solution of Fusion P2P (on cloud) with Oracle GL  (on premise). Assuming P2P is on a SaaS solution, i am  looking for specific guidance around the following ..
    1. What are the incremental steps / activities needed to connect the SaaS P2P environment with on-premise R12 environment?  Is there any Oracle document that talks about these steps ?
    2. Assuming that there is no change to the Legal Entities, Ledger and COA as existing in the on-premise environment; how will these common setups become available in the SaaS P2P environment. Same for employees defined in HRMS software. Does this need additional configuration activities (outside of the Procurement and Payables configuration) to be done in SaaS environment ?
    3. Should there be a need to have a  new ledger and/or BU for this Fusion P2P process , does this Ledger / BU need to be defined on the Cloud environment or on the on premise environment ?
    4. In the Oracle packaged coexistence model for Cloud P2P with on premise GL -  is Cash Management considered to be part of Cloud or on premise environment? The swimlane process in OER does not show Cash Management module ..
    Thank You !!

    Hi Vladimir,
the clickjacking protection you mentioned is indeed in place, but it is meant to prevent the embedding of Fusion Apps (incl. Sales Cloud) UIs into iFrames.
Your scenario seems to be the other way around: you want to embed content into an iFrame provided by Sales Cloud, right?  In that case, the clickjacking protection of the embedded UI served by OBIEE comes into play.  And since it's on premises, you hopefully have control over it (though I don't know how you control it since I am not an OBIEE expert).  The way I typically test whether a page can be successfully iFramed is by building a very simple static html page hosted on a server somewhere, with its primary content being an iFrame for the desired page.
For further reference, I wrote about iFrame issues on our blog: http://blogs.oracle.com/fadevrel/entry/troubleshooting_embedded_web_content
    Hope this helps!

  • Creative Cloud and eLearning Suite 2.5

Will a full CCloud membership include any new releases for applications that are a part of the eLearning Suite? Such as Captivate 5.5 to 6.0 or other tools that aren't already in CCloud?

And just to update as NOW (May 7, 2013)... not only does Captivate & eLearning NOT part of Creative Cloud, but if you want to update your Capitvate 6.1, you can only do so IF you have a Captivate subscription or ASA account.
Whoa be to you if you actually BOUGHT eLearning Suite 6 in the past year or so.

  • Replace OUTLOOK HOME AND BUSINESS Version with OUTLOOK PROFESSIONAL [Standalone]

    Hey Techies,
Here is the Scenario,I have been using Office Home and business 2013(installed from Click-to-run setup)  on my WIN-7 pro. As i needed to access
my Microsoft Exchange online archive (i have exchange online plan 2) on Outlook i'd to buy outlook Professional standalone (it has the feature to view online archive where as outlook office home and biz doesn't).
So when i try to install outlook professional standalone onto my PC installer just skip installing the outlook (i think) and complete the installation successfully.I assume installation is skipping because outlook is already present .
Kindly some one  assist me in installing Outlook professional by not removing other components of office home and business 2013.
    Thanks advance.

    >> It's the same Outlook 2013 in both cases.
Not, it's not *exactly* the same - the Pro Plus version can do online archives & retention policies while the Outlook that comes with Home or Home & Business is missing a thing or two that are only supported by Exchange servers. For 99%
of the users, it's no big deal and they never notice.
FWIW, this isn't new and it isn't limited to Outlook - the Office professional and pro plus suites have always had a few extras over lower end retail suites. Excel in Pro Plus also has some additional BI stuff, like power pivot.  AFAIK, Word
and PowerPoint are the same in both.
This chart gives an idea of what is different.
As for installing Outlook when a lessor version it's already installed, I'm not sure you can without uninstalling the Home and Business suite and reinstalling it after installing Outlook. It would be better to get the entire pro suite.

  • E-Business Suite 11i with ESSO and Identity Manager

    Hi,
We want to use Identity Manager to provision user information to Active Directory, MS Exchange, and E-Business Suite. Also, intend to deploy e-sso to provide single sign-on experience for desktop and web based applications.
Has anyone integrated Oracle E-Business Suite 11.5.10.2 with Enterprise Single Sign-On and Identity Manager (Identity Management)?
Can we achieve it without using Oracle Internet Directory/OracleAS 10g Single Sign-On?
Any relevant information or issues faced during integration, would be helpful.
    Regards.

    Hi,
for this integration you will need Provisioning Gateway component of the ESSO suite, and the included OIM-ESSO PG Connector.
The eBusiness Java interface can be integrated with eSSO, trough the java helper object.
There are several metalink notes that describe the OIM-PG integration:
NOTE: 550639.1 eSSO: Overview And Troubleshooting Of OIM Integration With Provisioning Gateway
NOTE: 550642.1 eSSO: OIM PG Integration: ProvisioningInstructionException: The user is not authorized for the action
NOTE: 550645.1 eSSO: OIM PG Integration: Error in Sending Request to web service
NOTE: 550646.1 eSSO: OIM PG Integration: Unsupported major.minor version 49.0
NOTE: 550641.1 eSSO: OIM PG Integration: Add_credential Execution Failed. Error: XPathFactory
NOTE: 550643.1 eSSO: OIM PG Integration: Could not find IT asset value for Svr_key
Yes, with eSSO-OIM you wont need Oracle Internet Directory/OracleAS 10g Single Sign-On.

  • Developer License for DB and E-Business Suites

I was a fulltime Oracle DBA from 1982 until 2003. Since then I have only done occasional consulting, setting up RMAN, installing software, patches, etc. for Oracle products, and I no longer have a MetaLink account (disabled) as I am not currently a customer or working for a customer.
It used to be that CD Packs could be purchased (or you could download) and you could use the software for development purposes without paying for the license - under the premise of a "developer's license".
Now it seems that the "Trial Packs" are limited to 30 days and after that you have to purchase a full license.
I want to get back into my DBA role and need the software, on 64 bit Linux, in order to get back up to speed - and 30 days is not sufficient for my plans. I have never had more than fleeting exposure to Oracle financials, and I also want to install some of the E-Business Suite.
Is there sill a developer's license good for truly developing or self-training? and is there a way to obtain the necessary MetaLink account without being a paying customer? MetaLink was a daily destination for me as a DBA. I can't imagine it being any less so today.
Thanks in advance for your consideration.

Thank you Yingkuan. Oracle Express isn't a solution. I have worked with Oracle versions 2 through 10g and still have valid copies of 9iR2 (and others) that I could practice with. I need current, hands-on experience with the current products.
I have a 4 core, 8 GB RAM, 3 TB RAID setup with 64 bit Linux... not exactly the investment you put out for Oracle Express.
I said MetaLink was a "daily destination" (not a "day to day job")... when supporting between 12 and 20 instances, managing 3 to 4 junior to mid-level DBAs, supporting both production and development, and working with 10 or 12 developers, it always was a daily destination. Granted, there are a LOT of things answered by Google and other sites (like Werner Puschitz's site); but, Oracle is, or should be, the source.
    Thanks again for your response.

  • Adobe Creative Cloud and Adobe Creative Suite: New Choices for Customers

Adobe has announced the new Cloud-based model for software distribution, along with new terms for boxed product upgrade eligibility. Beginning with the CS6 releases, when they happen, upgrade pricing on boxed products will only be availble one generation back. There is a limited window to upgrade now to the current versions at a discount.
    See http://blogs.adobe.com/conversations/2011/11/adobe-creative-cloud-and-adobe-creative-suite -new-choices-for-customers.html

    Eugene:
Based on the current information we have (from the blog post), which may not be correct and which you should not rely upon:
There is some confusion about the word "discount." As used in the blog post, in general there are no "discounts" for upgrades, there is the upgrade price and there is full price. But, also in the blog post, there is a special "discount upgrade" if you choose to upgrade to CS5.5 today (prior to Dec. 31, 2011), which is 20% off the regular upgrade. However, Peter used the word "discount" to distinguish between upgrade pricing and full price. It's probably a good idea to avoid using that word there because of the potential for confusion.
I have CS5 InDesign in work. So I will be able to upgrade that to CS6 when it comes out at the discount price?
You will be able to upgrade to CS6 at upgrade pricing. Not the 20% discount, but it is "discounted" from the full price of CS6.
I'm still using CS2 Illustrator and Photoshop, for the little work I do in those programs, they're fine. But if I want to upgrade them to CS6 I have to pay the full amount of an upgrade, with no discount... or will I have to pay for CS6 in full for both of these programs?
You will have to pay the full price (not the "full amount of an upgrade," whatever that means).
If you elect to upgrade to CS5.5 prior to Dec. 31 of this year, however, then then you can pay the discounted upgrade price to upgrade to CS5.5 (well, CS5 since Photoshop CS5.5 doesn't exist), and then you can pay the CS6 upgrade price in March/April. So you can pay for no upgrades (full price) or two upgrades (one of which is 20% off).
At the moment I can upgrade CS2, photoshop and Illustrator for €240 each, to CS5. So wouldn't I just be able to do that now and then buy the CS6 upgrade at a much later date perhaps just before CS7 comes out?
    Yes, you can do that.
If CS6 has the tools to basically go "File>Export>Epub" and I get a fully working epub file without having to trash about in code afterwards or make complex tagging in InDesign, then I'll be buying it.
It looks like EPUB is evolving pretty fast, so even if ID CS6 fully supports what you want out of EPUB on Day 1, I bet you'll need to be prepared to postprocess it on Day 2. Or at least long before Day 200.

  • E-business suite R12 and webcenter integration

    Hello,
We are integrating E-business suite R12 with webcenter.
We followed the steps from the white paper: https://support.oracle.com/CSP/main/article?cmd=show&id=1074345.1&type=NOT
We successfully completed step 1 through 4 and we are stuck at step 5 ( Configure E-Business Suite for WebCenter Integration )
We edited the AutoConfig Context File ($CONTEXT_FILE) to Specify WebCenter host in variable "List of nodes that have access to Portlet Producer URLs"
    Here is the sample change:
<trusted_portals oa_var="s_trusted_portals" customized="yes">ap123sun.us.oracle.com ap456sun.us.oracle.com</trusted_portals>After doing this, when we try to access WSDL URL: http://[Release_12_host]:[port]/OA_HTML/portlets/WSRPBaseService?WSDL, we are getting '403 Forbidden' error. Also, accessing http://<EBS_HOST>:<PORT>/OA_HTML/providers/OAFrameworkProvider is returning '403 Forbidden' error
Please let us know if we missed any step.

    Hussein,
Database Version is RDBMS 11.2.0.2; Oracle EBS Version is R-12.1.3; OS is HP-UX Itanium 64-Bit Version 11.31 (for DB and Apps Tier).
We bounced the application services after doing the above changes and running AutoConfig.
We checked access_log and the only information that we can find there is
    [29/Nov/2011:15:15:05 -0600] "GET /OA_HTML/portlets/WSRPBaseService?WSDL HTTP/1.1" 403 242 0 "-" "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; Trident/4.0; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; SLCC2; .NET4.0C; .NET4.0E)"

  • How to integrate E-Business Suite and OWB

I want to extract data from an E-business Suite (EBS) database. In the OWB 10.2 userguide is a paragraph, Enabling Integration with Oracle E-business Suite, telling me to import some metadata tables from the EBS-database. But how do I go from there to extracting the application data from the EBS database?
    Jaap.

    Hi Jaap,
Take a look at the following paper on OTN as to how the EBS connector works in 10.2 (http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/warehouse/pdf/ERP%20Data%20Integration%20with%20OWB.pdf)
In general this works like most import and loads in OWB. You basically read the EBS metadata catalog and then once that information is in OWB, you drag these tables into mappings.
    Hope this answers the questions,
    JP

  • Fax and SMS from E-Business Suite

I am currently working on the implementation of HRMS and finance
modules from the E-business suite. My question is, Is it
possible to fax or SMS from these core modules, if so how is
this achieved if using Microsoft exchange, is there any relevant
    documentation around
    Thanks
    Mark

While I am not aware of any standard published means to do so, you can also think of triggering a Java code to instantiate the business event.
    A non-intrusive approach could be.
    1. Have a Java Business Event Subscription to the Item-create/update event.
    2. Make API calls to the BPEL invocation code from this Java BPES. (The OTN BPEL tutorials have sample code)
However, there is a risk that the Java client classes required for invoking BPEL processes may not be part of the middle-tier JAVA classpath. ($AF_CLASSPATH in adovars.env). You need to check with techstack team in case you run into issues and need additional jars in the classpath.
    Alternatively,
    3. Create a seeded JMS queue in apps
    4. You can publish a message to a JMS AQ Queue from your Java BES code
    5. Have a JMS adapter to trigger your BPEL process.
Alternatively, (probably not what you want)
    1. Create a new interface table to store BPEL invocation requests.
    2. Have a DB polling on this table.
    3. Maintain status of BPEL process also in this table.
    4. Purge "success" records from this table at regular intervals. This will keep your DB polling non-intrusive from your actual process flow in apps.

I did so myself once and I think it was possible to get a connection utilize quotes,

    Could have been like

My be toy around with this, but more easy is to use brtools and change the

The problem with "@" is, that it delimits the SQLNET Connect identifier.

Oh, and for executing brtools, do not provide a user at all or only "-u /"
This should do a sysdba connect.
