Generate Deployment XML with Ant or Build

I'm looking for a way to generate the deployment xml through a build script rather than through the mapping workbench.
Anyone know if there are command-line type options available?

Not that I'm aware of, but why would you want to not use the MW, it's a huge productivity gain as far as development is concerned. It saves you from writing out all that XML.
Remember that typically in a development team, this XML is generated just 1 time for a given release (unless you're continually changing the object model or data model - which is a bad idea anyway)
my 2 cents,
Darren

    To use it after installation, set your path to your
    <ant_installation_dir>\bin, then navigate to the diectory containing the build.xml. then follow the instructions in the weblogic documentation for running ant.

  • Generate HTML report with ANT

    Hello,
    I'm  new to FlexPMD. I have just generated my firsts reports. I try to generate HTML reports.
    I browse the documentation, this forum and the web and I find informations to :
    - generate documentation with Hudson
    - generate documentation with Maven
    - generate documentation with XSLT pmd.xml -> html
    Ok, I try to keep it simple. So I don't want to use Hudson.
    I'm using ANT, and I currently don't want to install/learn Maven.
    I'm using FlexUnit with ANT. And It's really simple to generate reports :
    <junitreport todir="${report.flexunit.loc}">
                <fileset dir="${report.flexunit.loc}">
                    <include name="TEST-*.xml" />
                </fileset>
                <report format="frames" todir="${report.flexunit.loc}/html" />
    </junitreport>
    I'm really new to FlexPMD, so I don't have currently a big knowledge, but it seems impossible to generate a HTML report just like junitreport. (1 line in an ANT task)
    I test the XSLT transformation found on this forum (thread "XSLT pmd.xml -> html"). It's really cool. But it's seems difficult, for example, to extract the wrong code part and add it to the HTML page.
    So, what is the simpler solution to generate HTML report just with FlexPMD/ANT ?
    Thanks !

    Hello,
    Currently you generate a PMD report with ANT  like this :
    <! -- define taskdef  -->
    < taskdef name="pmd"  classname="com.adobe.ac.pmd.ant.FlexPmdAntTask"  classpath="${build.pmd.loc}/flex-pmd-ant-task-${flexpmd.version}.jar">
             < classpath>
                 < path refid="flexpmd.base" />
                 < pathelement  location="${build.pmd.loc}/commons-lang-2.4.jar" />
                 < pathelement  location="${build.pmd.loc}/flex-pmd-core-${flexpmd.version}.jar" />
                 < pathelement  location="${build.pmd.loc}/flex-pmd-ruleset-api-${flexpmd.version}.jar"  />
                 < pathelement  location="${build.pmd.loc}/flex-pmd-ruleset-${flexpmd.version}.jar"  />
                 < pathelement  location="${build.pmd.loc}/plexus-utils-1.0.2.jar" />
             < /classpath>
    < /taskdef>
    then generate XML  report like this :
    < pmd  sourceDirectory="${src.loc}" outputDirectory="${report.loc}"  ruleSet="${build.pmd.loc}/rules.xml"/>
    The  XML contains some file nodes :
    < file  name="/Users/user/workspace/AS3_UTILS/src/utils/align/gridAlignSpaceNumber.as">
           < violation beginline="22" endline="22" begincolumn="0"  endcolumn="27" rule="adobe.ac.pmd.rules.naming.TooShortVariable"  ruleset="All Flex Rules" package="utils.align"  class="gridAlignSpaceNumber.as" externalInfoUrl="" priority="5">This  variable name is too short (3 characters minimum, but 1 actually).  Detects when a field, local, or parameter has a very short name<  /violation>
    < /file>
    The  message is in the text node  < violation>TEXT< /violation>
    For  me, we miss an important part of the message : the portion of the "bad"  code.
    It could be very usefull if PMD can generate  something like this :
    < file  name="">
           < violation beginline="" endline="" begincolumn=""  endcolumn="" rule=""  ruleset="" package=""  class="gridAlignSpaceNumber.as" externalInfoUrl="" priority="">
            < description>TEXT< /description>
            < code><CDATA[MY CODE
    MY CODE
    MY CODE]>< /code>
        <  /violation>
    < /file>
    With this, we can  generate "full" HTML report with XSLT transform easily.
    I  understand that it modify the standard XML schema of the output.
    So,  perharps it could be an option like this :
    < pmd fullDescription="true"  sourceDirectory="${src.loc}"  outputDirectory="${report.loc}"  ruleSet="${build.pmd.loc}/rules.xml"/>
    What do you think ?
    Thanks !

  • Problem in Creating .wsdl file and mapping.xml with ant

    hi
    i am created my .wsdl file and mapping.xml file with wscompile tool but when i run this by ant tool it show a problem.
    the command runs on command prompt but when run throught ant file it shows a following error :-
    Execute failed: java.io.IOException: CreateProces: wscompile -define -mapping build\classes\META-INF\mapping.xml -d . -nd build\.................and so on
    so if anybody have any idea then plz help me asap
    thanx

    The following Ant snippet is the way I've defined my wscompile task. I'm creating a web application and it looks like yours might be an EJB endpoint, but you can adjust where necessary:
    <taskdef name="wscompile" classname="com.sun.xml.rpc.tools.ant.Wscompile">
         <classpath refid="compile.classpath" />
    </taskdef>
    <target name="init">
         <echo message="-------- ${appname} --------" />
    </target>
    <!-- This target compiles the server components using an existing WSDL as the driving document.
           The configuration file must use the <wsdl> element giving the location (local file system
           or URL) of the WSDL document.
           Note: the fork argument is needed to over come a bug when using the mapping argument. See
           http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=592994&tstart=0
      -->
         <target name="generate-server-from-WSDL" depends="init">
              <wscompile fork="yes"
                           keep="true"
                           base="${basedir}/WebContent/WEB-INF/classes"
                           import="true"
                           features="wsi"
                           xPrintStackTrace="true"
                           verbose="true"
                           mapping="${basedir}/WebContent/WEB-INF/jaxrpc-mapping.xml"
                           sourcebase="${basedir}/src"
                           config="${config.server.doclit.file}">
                   <classpath>
                        <path refid="compile.classpath" />
                   </classpath>
              </wscompile>
         </target>
         <target name="compile-server-from-WSDL" depends="generate-server-from-WSDL">
              <javac srcdir="${basedir}/src" destdir="${basedir}/WebContent/WEB-INF/classes" debug="${compile.debug}">
                   <classpath refid="compile.classpath" />
              </javac>
         </target>Just make sure that the named destination directories exist before you run the script.

  • Deploying BPEL with Ant Problems

    Hi, I am trying to automate BPEL deployment using HP Deployment Manager, and need to learn how to use Ant to deploy our BPEL processes. I have setup a SOA Suite installation to play around with Ant, but I can't seem to get Ant to work from command line. I am able to deploy a sample process using JDev both by the Deploy option or with the Ant option, but I get errors when using command line.
    I navigated to the location of build.xml in a DOS prompt, ran ant, and get the following error:
    C:\JDeveloper\jdev\mywork\BPEL\HelloWorld\build.xml:27: Cannot find ${oracle.home}/integration/bpel/utilities/ant-orabpel.xml imported from C:\JDeveloper\jdev\mywork\BPEL\HelloWorld\build.xml
    I'm assuming this is because JDeveloper sets up it's own environment variables for running Ant within the IDE - what do I need to do to have it run in command line mode? The deployments will ultimately be run on RHEL4 - but for testing on windows do I need to set these to look like %ORACLE_HOME%, etc in build.xml?
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Kevin

    Update: Problem solved by setting ORACLE_HOME and BPEL_HOME

  • Classpath problems when generating deployment xml

    Hi,
    I am new to using Toplink (9.0.4), but not new to CMP. I'm using the Toplink Mapping Workbench and have created my CMP Entity. I right-click on my project and export the Java Source. Everything (homes, local, remote) generates successfully. I then try to export the project deployment XML. However, I get a classpath error stating that it can't find my bean classes. My classpath is set to the area where the Java/Class files are. Do I have to compile my generated classes before creating the deployment XML? It appears as if I do because it works when I compile first, then generate the deployment XML. Is this the correct way to use the tool (generate Java, compile, generate XML)?
    Also, Is there a way this can all be generated via Ant (i.e. something similar to EJBGen)?
    Thanks,
    Mike

    Generating Java using the Mapping Workbench is good only for the initial Java Objects.
    After the initial Java Objects has been generated TopLink recommend to generate / modify Java Objects using IDE -&gt; compile -&gt; And in the Mapping Workbench 'Add or Refresh classes' -&gt; Map -&gt; generate XML is the right way of using TopLink.

  • Compile build.xml with Ant for web service with annotations

    Hi Friends,
    I have a web service with annotations, using javax.annotation.PostConstruct, and javax.annotation.PreDestroy.
    I have a build.xml to create a EAR for this web service.
    When I run the ant task, the build complete successfully but the .war file cannot be deployed on the WLS server. Taking a closer look, I see that the required files such as, webservices.xml, weblogic.xml, weblogic-webservices.xml, Provision.wsdl files are not generated.

  • Help -- Who has experience with ant and build.xml files ?

    Hi,
    I think my build.xml file is missing setting a classpath I need, but I have never played around with a build.xml file. Could someone help ?
    Thank you.
    Grazia

    A lot of people here use ant. But not all of us can read your mind, and those of us that can are sadistic bastards that like to force people to provide details of their problems just for the hell of it.
    So please do the following:
    * Go through an ant tutorial or other introductory docs, doing an example or two if present.
    * Set up your build.xml according to what you've learned.
    * If it still doesn't work, post the relevant portions of it (hopefully you'll have a small, representative sample that reproduces the problem), along with your relevant directory and file structure, the command you're running, and what error messages you're getting.

  • "Deploy portal with ant" question

    Hello Experts!
    I am quite new to WebCenter, and I have a requirement to automate compile and deploy tasks of my Portal Application (Framework Application). I have read some docs and blogs and this forum too. Could you clarify me the difference between following:
    - deploy through ojdeploy
    - wldeploy
    - python script (WLST)?

    ojdeploy allows you to use the Deployment Targets defined in your JDeveloper project/workspace. I have found this the simplest way to package up my code into an ADF Library JAR or an EAR file.
    wldeploy is an ant wrapper for the functionality provided by weblogic.Deployer i.e. deploy related functions.
    wlst is a jython based command-line utility that provides deployer functions and also administrative functions. I prefer using wlst for my deployments. I usually invoke wlst via the "exec" task in Ant.

    Hi,
    'Class not found' in the Mapping Workbench usually means that one of your classes was not included in the 'class path' panel. In the Mapping Workbench select the project -&gt; Class Path -&gt; Add Entry...
    For example, in my case I have Person.class, which is part of the package com.toplink.course. 'C:\dev\tl400\classes\com\toplink\course&gt;Person.class'
    So in the Mapping Workbench -&gt; Class Path I put 'C:\dev\tl400\classes'

  • Ant build & deploy script with CEP

    Hi,
    I want to create a build & deploy script with ant for our application that runs on CEP. I succeeded on creating one that is working well. I had one problem, which is that I now assume that the server is up when the script is running. I wanted to add a target to the script that will start the server if it's not running. The problem is that startwlevs script start the server and remain open. This effectivily pause the build script indefinitely. Does anyone have any idea how to overcome this?
    Thanks

    Just fork the execution of the script. Alternatively call java directly (that's all the script does) and fork that.
