method called createRecord() for each record type which would populate the HashMap with the correct data fieldsI'm not sure I understand: are the contents of this field map the same between two records of the same type? Then yes, you don't need to clone the map per record instance.
one thing that needs fixing is the fact that each time the createRecord() method is called I'm creating a new fieldMap to define the dataFields in the record class.Probably, but that will only get you a little bigger files; you won't gain an order of magnitude on the size of files. The problem for huge files is that as soon as their content is bigger than the available memory, you'll run into problems. A more radical approach if you need to address huge files is to process the records on the fly, and not load all records in memory. Of course not all algorithms or business logic can afford that...
I know I could rewrite the code and create a class for each record type and declare the fieldMap static but I was wondering if anyone had any better suggestions The Record instance could receive and keep a reference to its RecordType instance, and ask the RecordType instance the DataType for a field's name. That way the RecordType encapsulates the map, and there's less risk that a clumsy other class modifies the static map.
before I go rewriting a load of code.A load of code?!? Even with the idea of the static map, you only have to edit the enum type (well more accurately, each RecordType enumerated constant's createRecord() method). -

Dynamically update swf file in sharepoint using xml data
Hi,
I need some help/enlightenment on how to auto-update the swf file in sharepoint using xml data.
I am encountering an error "Cannot access External Data" and pointing to adobe's Cross-domain policy file extension.
My questions is:
1. Where should the cross-domain file be copied? In the sharepoint webserver's root folder?
Right now, we generate the swf file from xcelsius and manually upload them in the sharepoint. However, we wish to automate the data content of this file.
Thanks for the help.
EmersonGetFileByServerRelativeUrl.... since you're getting a FILE, you'll need a URL to a FILE (not just a library)... by SERVER relative URL, so you'll need to include the site collection path and such, not just the subsite relative URL.
Now working fine....
url: appweburl + "/_api/SP.AppContextSite(@target)/web/ GetFileByServerRelativeUrl('/sites/apps/Shared Documents/test.txt')/CheckOut()?@target='" + hostweburl + "'",
method: "POST",

Updated Class files not generated
Hi ,
I am using Eclipse SDK Version: 3.2.2 and have configured with my project and weblogic server. When the application is running in debug mode if necessary making some fix and when i use ctrl+b the new class file should be generated and immediately the application should refer to the new class file without expecting to restart the weblogic server.
But that's not happening, when i do a ctrl+b the class files are cleaned and new class files are not getting generated,moreover this cleaning is also consuming lot of time.
Can some body help me to resolve this , so that i can save lot of time in restarting the server for every small fix too.

Generate Deployment XML with Ant or Build
I'm looking for a way to generate the deployment xml through a build script rather than through the mapping workbench.
Anyone know if there are command-line type options available?Not that I'm aware of, but why would you want to not use the MW, it's a huge productivity gain as far as development is concerned. It saves you from writing out all that XML.
Remember that typically in a development team, this XML is generated just 1 time for a given release (unless you're continually changing the object model or data model - which is a bad idea anyway)
my 2 cents,

How to load XML file to table (non-XML) with SQL*Loader -- issue with nulls
I have been attempting to use SQL*Loader to load an XML file into a "regular" Oracle table. All fields work fine, unless a null is encountered. The way that nulls are represented is shown below:
<PAYLOAD>
<FIELD1>ABCDEF</FIELD1>
<FIELD2/>
<FIELD3>123456</FIELD3>
</PAYLOAD>
In the above example, FIELD2 is a null field and that is the way it is presented. I have searched everywhere and have not found how I could code for this. The issue is that if FIELD2 is present, it is coded like: <FIELD2>SOMEDATA</FIELD2>, but the null is represented as <FIELD2/>. Here is a sample of the control file I am using to attempt the load -- very simplistic, but works fine when fields are present:
load data
infile 'testdata.xml' "str '<PAYLOAD>'"
TRUNCATE
into table DATA_FROM_XML
FIELD1 ENCLOSED BY '<FIELD1>' AND '</FIELD1>',
FIELD2 ENCLOSED BY '<FIELD2>' AND '</FIELD2>',
FIELD3 ENCLOSED BY '<FIELD3>' AND '</FIELD3>')
What do I need to do to account for the way that nulls are presented? I have tried everything I could glean from the web and the documentation and nothing has worked. Any help would be really appreciated.I hadn't even got that far. can you direct me to where the docs are to import data that is stored within xml but that you don't need any xml functionality, that just happens to be the format the data is stored in? thx

Using a variable value in CDATA for generating an XML type in Oracle
Hello,
I have prepared a function given below where I have some input variables & I have to generate one XML with those input variables as tag attribute value:
create or replace function NEW_PROJECT_DETAILS
( p_ReferenceId in varchar2 ,
p_Project_No in varchar2,
p_Project_Name in varchar2,
p_Project_Desc in varchar2 ,
p_Project_Type in varchar2,
p_Project_Location in varchar2,
p_Project_Status in varchar2 )
return xmltype
as
payload xmltype;
begin
dbms_output.put_line('Payload Started');
payload:= xmltype('<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<ProjectDetails>
<RefID>'||p_ReferenceId||'</RefID>
<ProjectNo>'||p_Project_No||'</ProjectNo>
<ProjectName>'||p_Project_Name||'</ProjectName>
<ProjectDesc>'||p_Project_Desc||'</ProjectDesc>
<ProjectType>'||p_Project_Type||'</ProjectType>
<ProjectLocation><![CDATA[p_Project_Location]]></ProjectLocation>
/* <ProjectLocation>'||p_Project_Location||'</ProjectLocation> */
<ProjectStatus>'||p_Project_Status||'</ProjectStatus>
</ProjectDetails>');
dbms_output.put_line('Payload Comp1');
return payload;
end;
This procedure works absolutely fine.
Now the problem which I am having is that the variable p_Project_Location has value like "6747:BBO&M SBV".
Due to the '*&*' in that value I have to use CDATA. But i dont know how to pass this variable directly in the CDATA in the XML.
Please help me with this asap.
Thanks & Regards,
Divya Aggarwal

Edited by: 784414 on Dec 2, 2010 4:16 AMHi,
If you absolutely want to use a CDATA section, then :
payload:= xmltype('<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<ProjectDetails>
<RefID>'||p_ReferenceId||'</RefID>
<ProjectNo>'||p_Project_No||'</ProjectNo>
<ProjectName>'||p_Project_Name||'</ProjectName>
<ProjectDesc>'||p_Project_Desc||'</ProjectDesc>
<ProjectType>'||p_Project_Type||'</ProjectType>
<ProjectLocation><![CDATA['||p_Project_Location||']]></ProjectLocation>
<ProjectStatus>'||p_Project_Status||'</ProjectStatus>
</ProjectDetails>');Alternatively, you can escape non valid characters with DBMS_XMLGEN.CONVERT, e.g. :
payload:= xmltype('<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<ProjectDetails>
<RefID>'||p_ReferenceId||'</RefID>
<ProjectNo>'||p_Project_No||'</ProjectNo>
<ProjectName>'||p_Project_Name||'</ProjectName>
<ProjectDesc>'||p_Project_Desc||'</ProjectDesc>
<ProjectType>'||p_Project_Type||'</ProjectType>
<ProjectLocation>'||dbms_xmlgen.convert(p_Project_Location)||'</ProjectLocation>
<ProjectStatus>'||p_Project_Status||'</ProjectStatus>
</ProjectDetails>');which outputs :
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<ProjectDetails>
<RefID>1</RefID>
<ProjectNo>1</ProjectNo>
<ProjectName>PRJ1</ProjectName>
<ProjectDesc>This is project 1</ProjectDesc>
<ProjectType>P</ProjectType>
<ProjectLocation>6747:BBO&M SBV</ProjectLocation>
<ProjectStatus>S</ProjectStatus>
</ProjectDetails>Any basic XML parser should then convert back escaped characters when processing the document.
You can also use SQL/XML functions, which will take care of that automatically.
For example :
SELECT appendChildXML(
XMLType('<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><ProjectDetails/>'),
XMLForest(
'1' as "RefID",
'1' as "ProjectNo",
'PRJ1' as "ProjectName",
'This is project 1' as "ProjectDesc",
'P' as "ProjectType",
'6747:BBO&M SBV' as "ProjectLocation",
'S' as "ProjectStatus"
FROM dual;or,
SELECT appendChildXML(
XMLType('<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><ProjectDetails/>'),
XMLForest(
'1' as "RefID",
'1' as "ProjectNo",
'PRJ1' as "ProjectName",
'This is project 1' as "ProjectDesc",
'P' as "ProjectType",
XMLCData('6747:BBO&M SBV') as "ProjectLocation",
'S' as "ProjectStatus"
