Generating a simple Password

Hi!
What would be the easiest way to generate a simple password?
We're implementing a "User-Login" - the login name is the users e-mail address. At the first time a new password is generated and then its send to the user so he can change it.
So - how can I create a simple password?

I work for a public school district. We want the librarians at each campus to reset passwords for students to take the load off of the help desk. We used to be a Novell network and we had a simple password reset gui tool that they used. Now it seems in our
new Microsoft network, there is only the Active Directory Users and Computer mmc.
I've looked into self service solutions but they are too expensive for us.
- Most of the network is Win7 or OSX.
- I don't want them to see the entire AD infrastructure.

you can use DSMOD command

If you don't know the DN of the user you can use DSQUERY with user name and pipe the result to DSMOD
dsquery user User1 | dsmod user "CN=Don Funk,CN=Users,DC=Contoso,DC=Com" -pwd A1b2C3d4 -mustchpwd yes

I Need VDS script in order to change domain client local administrator password in my domain ,and put this script in startup script via group policy, but for security purpose I want to randomize local administrator password and log new password
set for each computer on a text file, I want to over write the old password of eachcomputer in log file with new one in order to have the update log file ,my support team some times need administrator password for troubleshooting.

IOS 7 bug - cannot revert to simple passwords on iPad

I changed my password on the iPad to a alphanumeric. Now when trying to change back to a simple password, as soon as I flip the switch to "simple" in preferences, the whole preferences pane crashes. Can anyone else get this to repeat or has experienced this? Can't figure out how to report to Apple. Hopefully they'll release a bug fix update soon.

Well, I reset my modem, which is a unified modem covering my TV, phone and internet. Previously my cell phone was connected to the home network, but this morning it also failed to connect. So I reset the modem from Time Warner and the system is working.

Why wont simple password work locked out?

I changed the simple password from the 4 digit option in general settings and restarted my ipod touch 2 gen and when the locak screen came up it didnt have the the four digit option it had the keyboard. I typed my four digit password and now Im locked out any idea why this happend?
Any help would be very helpful and is anyone else had this problem?

I would just connect the iPod to its syncing computer and restore the iPod. I iTunes asks for the passcode and you can't enter the passcoe, place the iPod in recovery mode and then restore the iPod. For recvery mode see:

It appears that your passcode and other than simple digets since the keyboard only comes up if you have non-simple digets even if you have the non-simple passcode off.

Zen Agent support for Simple Password

Is it possible to use the NMAS Simple Password method without having the
Novell Client installed on the machine? Our main authenticator is Active
Directory. The client will be logging into eDir via the Zenworks for
Desktops agent - Does the Zen Agent support Simple Password?

How to add a simple password sign-in?

I'd like to add a simple password sign-in in order for users to access a non-public page on a site. I'm a litle confused about exactly how to do this and am also wondering if it's possible to have just a field for password but not username?

Generate a hidden password

Hi,
I need to create a script that creates a zip file and creates a password on the zip file. Because each zip file needs a different password I need a reliable way to create the password but a way to know what the password will be.
I was thinking that maybe I could do it with a date stamp which is then hashed.
Is there any standard for doing this?, I could easily do this with a variable and some maths functions but need to know its secure.

Any password is as secure as the next one, and zip files are not that secure to begin with. Just have the script generate a random password for each file in whatever way is most convenient to you. Unless you actually encrypt the zip file using something
like AES, anyone who is interested in teh zip file contents can use a couple of zip file crackers and read whatever you store in that zip file.
This is correct. If you want something actually secure, either use 7z files with the AES encryption (which is probably more difficult with powershell since it doesn't seem to have a NET library) or use built in crypto.
As to the latter, you could zip the files, read the filestream, Base64 encode it (not sure if this is required), then use the built in Rijndael assemblies to encrypt it. A packaged function for the encryption is at

there are no domains)

Open Keychain Access in Utilities, use Keychain First Aid under the Keychain Menu item, then either check the Password under that item, change it, or delete it and start over.

Resetting simple password

I have forgotten my simple password on my iPad. How can I reset it?

There is no way to reset it.
You have to restore the device within iTunes. You want to use the same computer that you always sync with so that you can restore your app data and settings. You can restore with any other computer, but you will lose everything on the iPad.

Generate a simple report in XML publisher

Hello,
I have a simple Oracle Report 9i which displays data from four tables. It uses three different queries to get the data. How can I simply generate a similar report in XMLP without using the oracle report? I tried joining the queries (like outer join) but wasn't able to get the format which report 9i was generating.
Each table has two columns to be equated with other tables among the four i.e (A.c1=B.c1 AND A.c2=B.c2). The results are displayed in a hierarchial manner. Could anyone please help me out with a clear approach? Please let me know if I need to be more clear.

to give you an overview ,this is the way BIP works ,
you create code to genrate the xml through any method from DB.
and Bip merges the xml and your template to get you the output you wanted.
BIP does more than what i have said, just go thru user guide :)
if you are expecting some help from your xml and xsl code,
paste your xml here and your xplanation , what you are expecting.

Looking for Simple Password App

I'm looking for a simple, secure, free app to store my passwords in. I did a google search and there are hundreds out there. I'd like to use one that someone here has had experience with. I don't want anything sophisticated or something that syncs. Just something to store my passwords on my iphone.

container.xsd represents a file that can include PO's and INVOICES, 2 different things in the same file.
I would like to know how to create the container.xsd in a simpler way, I mean one file for invoices.
I know already how to create this file (automatically...) when creating a partner link for reading a text file like this:

But I do not know how to do the same when the file contains records that means master-details, I mean an invoice has one or more lines and could include a footer (header-body-footer).

You can generate a native XSD first for the file format you are looking to parse. Then you can manually modify to get the structure you want for the xml. We did similar thing for ex we had one big file containing records and we wanted each record in its structure type

My password lock cannot be turned off (button is greyed out and does not react) and I cannot set to "simple" password (4 digits) for the same reason (button greyed out)

Today, I got a message from my iphone 4 telling me that my password was expired and that I had to change it.
Now I am forced to enter a 8 character long password and I cannot turn off the password lock (button is greyed out and does not react) and I cannot change to "simple" code.
I am so upset that I am considering throwing the bloody thing to the rubbish bin

Have a work Exchange account on your phone? These policies can be enforced by a profile installed on your phone. There is nothing you can do to change this except delete the Exchange account.
