Generating Debug Info Setting in Weblogic Workshop (.work)

Hi,
I am using Weblogic Workshop ver 8.1.3. I need to set
-g option during java compilation. I am using weblogic workshop (.work) file) for compilation. Could any one tell me what are the setting required for generating debug info while compilation.
Thanx,
Cleophus P.

Hello Cleophus,
What debug information are you looking for ?
In 8.1, Workshop uses a proprietary compiler to compile Workshop resources.
Cheers
Raj
BTW: the latest SP for Workshop 8.1 is Service pack 6

  • Consuming Weblogic Workshop WebService

    Hi,
I am getting an error running the generated client stubs for a weblogic workshop based document style webservice. (I don't have a problem with a rpc style webservice in the same configuration.)
The error is to do with extracting the return string/int and fromElement is reporting a classcast exception. Using tcp monitor I have seen the return message and it seems fins. There is no 'xsi:type' attribute on the return xml element.
Also I can't seem to access the xmlelement value, the return string/int in the debugger watch window. I have casted the element to a node and getValue on the node returns null.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Please check it now, also if any one can let us know the function or role played by the above lines it would be great. Also if there would be any future or unseen problems by commenting out these lines please do let us know...

  • SAP Query Alias Table in Info-set not working

    Hi Guys,
I'm having a bit of trouble with a query I'm writing in SQ01.
I am trying to create a standard margin report between two different costing variants that we use.
n order to do so I have had to employ the use of alias tables.
I have named the alias tables KEKO_2 and KEPH_2 accordingly and joined them in the info set with the same joins as the original tables (Left Outer to MARC on MATNR and WERKS)
However, when I have come to test the query in SQ01 I get a runtime error which states the following:
The following syntax error was found in the program
      AQA0MASTER_DATA=STANDARDMARGIN :
"Field "KEPH_2-KST001" is unknown. It is neither in one of the specified
    tables nor defined by a "DATA" statement . . . . . . . . . ."
But it is in a specified table! My alias table.
How can I make this query work?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Default namespace in WebLogic Workshop generated WSDL

    Hello there,
I am trying to access a very simple webservice developed in WebLogic Workshop
(say something like HelloWorld.jws) from a ColdFusion application. However, I
get an Axis fault on Coldfusion implying that it could not invoke the required
method. I am running the examples server and the work shop. I noticed that some
of the documentation mention changing the namespace from http://www.openuri.com

Does that have to do anything with the service not being able to be invoked or
    it could be something else?

    Sanjeev,
The exception you mentioned about changing the namespace should not cause
the behavior that you are noticing.
The exception that you are receiving states that your ColdFusion application
is not able to access the Workshop Web Service.
Are both coldfusion and Workshop on the same physical machine ?
If they are not on the same machine.
Are you able to access the wsdl via a browser from the machine on which
    coldfusion installed ?
The wsdl has an service name tag
    - <port name="SimpleTestSoap" binding="s0:SimpleTestSoap">
    <soap:address location=http://localhost:7001/Raj/SimpleTest.jws />
    </port>
This address location is be default the machine on which this Web Service is
built, and this defaults to localhost:7001.
This entry can be modified by editing the weblogic-jws-config.xml file found
in the WEB-INF/lib folder of the project.
Can you make sure that address location contains the correct address and
also check to see if the Web Service is available via any browser.
    Hope this help.
    Thanks

  • Weblogic Workshop for non-WLS work

    Hello
I am working on a Java servlet based application to be hosted on Apache Tomcat

In other words, is Weblogic Workshop strongly coupled with Weblogic Server platform?
    Andi Giri

    Andi,
WebLogic Workshop is tightly coupled with WebLogic Server. Web services
developed by Workshop use WebLogic server specific functionality and hence
can be hosted only on WebLogic server.

A<SYNCH-12> (by Adam Fitzgerald): No, Web Services in WebLogic Server 6.1 are different

    Rick,
You may want to look at the Alteon and F5 configuration we have on edocs.

  • Weblogic workshop 10gR3 - Very slow in building projects and throwing error

Hi All. I am working in a portal project with weblogic 10gR3. I am using 4GB RAM machine with Windows XP and Intel Core2 T5600 processor. Whenever I build my set of projects, workshop takes very long time to build the project and at end of it throws "There was an error running some portal verification, not all validation complete". Please let me know anyone else faced the same issue.
    Things tried out by me:
    1. new domain
    2. workshop restart
    3. closing all applications other than workshop to allow more memory space for build process
but nothing helped me on it. Please let me know if someone aware of the fix.
    regards.

Edited by: Nanda on Jan 27, 2011 2:37 PM

    Hi Nanda -
Are there any exceptions in the Error Log view in Eclipse, or in the <workspace>/.metadata/.log file that seem relevant? Also, which version of 10gR3 is this -- 10.3.0 or 10.3.2? You can check via the Help | About... item -- if it says it's Eclipse 3.5.0, then it's WLP 10.3.2; WLP 10.3.0 will say it's Oracle Workshop for WebLogic 10.3.
How many projects do you have? What types are they? How many artifacts in each (e.g. .portlets, .portal, pageflows, ejbs, etc.)?
You can also turn off Portal verification for now. Go to Window | Preferences | Validation, then uncheck the WebLogic Portal Validator and WebLogic Portal XML Validator boxes and hit Ok. You won't get warnings in the Problems view about .portals and .portlets, but you can see if it's part of the problem. Another general thing that pops up around performance is interaction with an underlying virus scanner -- if possible, try making sure your real-time virus scanner is skipping your project folders and your BEA_HOME.

Can anyone help me in importing the existing CVS project/application into the weblogic workshop so that I can check-in, check-out and debug the application.
    Thanks in advance

  • Authentication error weblogic workshop

    Hi ,
I am trying to debugg my application with weblogic workshop but its
giving authentication error. My application is deployed and i can access it
. I am using ant . Actually when i click the debug button it statrts the
build and after successful termination of the build process it opens the
debug view but gives the following error :-
Authentication Failure when connecting to server
Check your weblogic server username and password are correct and that the
    user has full admin rights.
I have given the same username and password in workshop that i gave while
configuring my domain. I guess workshop is not able to communicate with the
server . Please help me out. I have spent enough time resolving this.
    Thanks

The text of the error message may be incorrect, but the intent of the
message is correct. You cannot use <max-beans-in-free-pool> with a Stateful
    session bean. See:

    Hello,
I have created a session EJB in Weblogic workshop. In the propertyeditor, I have set the "type" to "Stateful". I have then set the
max-beans-in-free-pool to 1. I build my ejb project, and I get the below
    error:
"A Stateless Session Bean cannot have a tag max-beans-in-free-pool". Thisdoesn't make any sense to me since I have specified that it is a "Stateful"
session bean. I am using Weblogic workshop 8.1 sp2

  • Weblogic WorkShop IDE does not start

My weblogic workshop IDE was working until today. When I try opening it up, nothing happens. It doesn't open up or show me any error messages. I don't even know where to begin trouble shooting. Any ideas?
    Thanks.

I reproduced this problem on my 2 CPU x86 laptop with Solaris 11,
and I think I know what is the root of the problem.
It seems to be a scheduling problem. If I run these "cpu-eating"
programs without setting priority, prstat shows that they get high priority:
PID USERNAME SIZE RSS STATE PRI NICE TIME CPU PROCESS/NLWP
    6449 nikm 1448K 768K run 10 0 0:17:04 50% loop_sqrt_1/1
    6637 nikm 1448K 768K cpu0 10 0 0:12:19 49% loop_sqrt_1/1
They both have PRI=10, NICE=0. As a result they do not allow java
to get enough cpu time to start Sun Studio IDE, because it runs with
    lower priority: PRI=59, NICE=0
    6680 nikm 311M 26M run 59 0 0:00:00 0.0% java/13
If I run these "cpu-eating" programs with a specified low priority,
everything works just fine, and Sun Studio IDE starts without
any problems. Try to run them using "nice -20":
    nice -20 loop_sqrt_1 &
    nice -20 loop_sqrt_1 &
    sunstudio &
Perhaps we shall set priority in the "sunstudio" script to avoid such conflicts.
    Thanks,
    Nik

  • Debug info to log file

    G'day,
I have jsp which I am attempting to write some debug info to the log
              using out.println(...) java statement.
My question is how do I make it go to the weblogic log file as opposed
              to my html page ?
              Any help would be appreciated.
              Cheers

Why can't you use ServletContext.log()? I've been using that all the
              time.

  • SUNWspro C++ option to generate debug symbols for GDB

    Hi,
I support a set of programs that must be built with SUNWspro 6.2 C++ compiler. When I try to debug these programs via gdb, gdb comlpains that the binaries have no debug symbols found. Is there an option to SUNWspro 6.2 C++ compiler to produce extra debugging symbols suitable for gdb debug sessions? NOTE: these exact binaries are debuggable using dbx, which does not complain about missing debug info. I would like to used gdb, however, if that is possible. Also NOTE: If I compile the whole thing in GCC, then GDB works fine .... bu, by policy, we cannot deploy GCC built niaries into our PROD environment.
Buidl with SUNWSpro 6.2 C++ compiler and debug via gdb. Is that possible?

{color:#800000}+{color:#808080}And I feel I must ask why can't you use dbx? Are there any features missing or it is just an unfamiliar environment?+
+{color}+{color:#808080}{color:#0000ff}Very good question. To be frank, I am extremely envious of the modern C++ development environments enjoyed by the Linux/EclipseCDT/GCC community. I can't fully enjoy that environment because by my client's mandate is that I must use the SUNWspro 6.2 CC++ compiler. I can still use Eclipse with CDT 5.0 environment for development. And I can still build, for my own confirmation purposes via GCC, but when I deploy my build to production, I must make the final binary with. And that forces me to use dbx for debugging those builds. And it leaves me left out with all the very, very nice distributed debugging features that come with Eclipse CDT 5.0 (Eclipse CDT has no support for dbx, just gdb, and no support for SUNWspro C++ build chain. just GCC).
Stranded on this point, I use SunStudio11 with its dbx support to distibuted debugging of my production binary builds. It is way, way behind what others are doing with Linux/EclipseCDT/GCC.
In my ideal world, I would develop from Eclipse CDT 5.0 supported by the SUNWspro C++ build chain that would produce gdb-compatible compatible debugging symbols. Then I could take advantage of Eclipse's very nice distributed debugging capabilites.
No offense to SunStuido, but if I could achieve that reality I would no longer be envious of the Linux/MSFT/etc. C++ IDEs.
