Generating report in forms 10g

I am trying to generate a pdf report in forms 10g using paramform
as soon as i click on submit query button it says page cannont be displayed
and if i check in the showjobs it is showing Report Finished successfully
Please help me
thanks

I am guessing you have specified destype=file and desformat=pdf?
This will probably have created a pdf file on your app server somewhere.
You should use destype=cache if you want to see it appear in the browser window.

    Hi All,
    We are migrating form from Oracle form 6i to Oracle 10g(10.1.2.0.2). I am calling reports from forms
    using Web.Show_Docment(). When we run reports in report builder 10g it works fine.
    But when we try to run reports from Forms 10g it throws error which is given below.
    We want to run reports from UNIX. After using this url to submit report we get error REP 110 and REP 0110

    I will really appreciate your help.

    Hello,
    You are mixing 2 separators in the URL : & and +
    Use only one separator in the URL :
    Example :
    http://GEM:7777/reports/rwservlet?server=rep_server+report=/u01/forms/QA_Forms10g/GEMREP.rdf+DESTYPE=CACHE+DESFORMAT=HTML+p_user_id=XYZ+p_client=2

    Yes, I have replace the userid with scott/tiger@orcl with i6menu/i6menu@vbs and also replace the OAS server's name as you have suggested.
    declare
         REP_URL varchar2(2000);
    begin
    REP_URL:= '/reports/rwservlet?userid=i6menu/i6menu@vbs&report=testrep_10g.rdf&desformat=pdf&destype=cache&paramform=no';
    WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT(REP_URL,'_BLANK');
    end;
    I had the 2nd code also but both r not working on my machine ......... !!
    I have made the following setting on my machine:
    1. Registry -> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE-> ORACLE-> KEY_DevSuiteHome1->FORMS_PATH ->
    Values is : D:\vision_soft\VSS\exe
    2. Registry -> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE-> ORACLE-> KEY_DevSuiteHome1->REPORTS_PATH ->
    Values is : D:\vision_soft\VSS\exe
    3. Entry made in the DevSuiteHome_1\forms\server ->default.env
    FORMS_PATH=D:\vision_soft\VSS\exe
    4. Entry made in the DevSuiteHome_1\reports\confr ->rwservlet.properties
    #SERVER= rep10
    As my forms is working well & but the report are not able to call.
    Could you please let me know is there is any other mandatory setting required for the report 10g.

  • Call report under form 10g

    how I call report under form 10g from Push Button trigger without haveing Oracle Application Server ? is there any way to do so ?
    Thanks

    You use the run_report_object. See the help file for information on how to use it.
    By the way, you must use the Application Server to use Forms. It's an integral part of Forms.

  • Problem with output from  report to excel, calling the report from form 10g

    Hi everyone, I'm having a problem generating a excel from a report, which is called from a form, I'm using Forms 10g. The problem is this: My report has a variable number of columns. These columns appear according to data obtained from the database, these columns are dates, In vesion 6 excel file generated shows the columns one after another starting in column A1 to column CP. I mean that the dates are correlative. But in version 10g the excel file generated shows the same report starting in column A to column T, only shows the 20 dates correlative corresponding to this columns, the rest of the dates are down the excel sheet in groups of 20 dates, it's something, the file in 6i grows across and in 10g grows down the excel sheet. The report (rdf file) is the same in 6i and 10g, I compiled the 6i version to obtain the 10g version. The excel sheet generated in 10g looks like the report was in pdf format, because PDF format, cuts the report in pages and the file grows down, if I generate the report in PDF format it has the same structure excel file in 10g has. I hope yo can help because I have days trying to solve this but I have no succes. If someone could help I could email the excel files generated in two versions. Here I put the code I use to generate the files in 6i and 10g. I have tried with DESFORMAT=SPREADSHEET in 10g but the result is the same. Thanks for your help. Greetings for all.

    There are two problems with your VI.  First, the basic logic of writing/appending to a file (Excel, TDMS, anything) should go something like this:  Open the file, position yourself at the end of the file, then, in the loop, acquire data and write it to the file until you are finished with data acquisition.  When you exit the acquire/write to file loop, then close the file.  In particular, the opening and the closing of the file should not be inside the loop.
    As others have pointed out, writing to Excel might not be optimal, particularly if you are acquiring data at a high rate (and would therefore be writing a lot of data). We actually use Excel in our data acquisition routine, mainly reading from a WorkSheet to get the parameters of a particular stimulus, but also writing the outcome of the response to the stimulus.  As it happens, our "acquisition rate" in this example is on the order of several samples per minute, so there's no problem using Excel (we also sample 16 channels of analog data at 1 KHz -- this gets written as a binary file).
    Second, if you really do want to use Excel, use the (existing) Excel file to which you want to append as the "template" argument of the New Report function.  Then use the Excel Get Last Row function to position yourself at "end of file", as noted above.
    Good Luck.

  • Default file location when calling report from Forms 10G

    I've tried this in the reports forum, but it applies equally to forms I guess..
    Hi,
    I've managed to put together a routine for running a report from a 10G Form. In 6i I specified a "relative path" to my report name as follows:-
    "Run_Product(REPORTS, '..\Reports\myreportname', SYNCHRONOUS, RUNTIME, FILESYSTEM, pl_id, NULL); "
    In 10G I would like to just specify the report name, rather than the full file path. Can I specify a relative file path - or alternatively can I set the default report location in a configuration file?
    At the moment I'm having to specify something like:
    SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY(repid, REPORT_FILENAME,
    'c:\oracle\systemname\reports\myreportname.RDF');
    I would like to just have:
    SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY(repid, REPORT_FILENAME,
    'myreportname.RDF');
    Many thanks,
    Keith.

    Do you run your application on an application server?
    If so you should use the REPORTS_PATH environment variable (in windows registry entry).
    Alternatively you could use an environmentid in the reports.conf-file:
    <server version="10.1.2.0.2">
    <environment id="YOURID">
    <envVariable name="REPORTS_PATH" value="C:\......"/>
    </environment>
    You call the report with the parameter &envid=YOURID in the URL.

  • Running JSP Excel report from Forms 10g

    Perhaps this had been discussed before, though I didn't find an exact solution.
    We have a JSP report that displays data in MS Excel. Works fine if called from the url.
    The report shall be called from the form passing a parameter list with PARAMFORM=NO.
    Problem: reports runs as designed but opens up an empty Excel spreadsheet. No errors, no data..
    We are using RUN_REPORT_OBJECT with desformat=spreadsheet and paramform=no.
    We can't use just web.show_document alone since quite a few parameters need to be passed.
    I've read in one of the posts that a paper layout need to be created (in addition to web layout) to run RUN_REPORT_OBJECT. We've done that, but now it does not open EXCEL, and displays paper layout in a browser.
    So, how to call JSP (Excel) report from Forms passing parameter list without displaying the parameter form?
    Thank you

    What is the complete Application Server version you are using? Be sure you are using 10.1.2.2
    What platform and version is it installed?
    What version of Excel is installed on the client?
    Does it work if you use an RDF report?
    Try this:
    o Change DESFORMAT to DELIMITED
    o Append the following to the end of the URL created in the WEB.SHOW call:
    &mimetype=application/vnd.ms-excel
    The result should be the same as using SPREADSHEET.

  • Replacement routine for running reports from Forms 10G?

    Hi,
    I have the following routine that I have been using in Forms 6i to run all of my system reports. I know that Run_Product can no longer be used in 10G and has to be replaced with RUN_REPORT_OBJECT, but can anyone suggest a suitable replacement routine that can be called from my 10G Forms (to avoid getting the FRM-41842 message)?
    Many thanks,

  • Running report from forms 10g with parameters

    db and dev 10g ,
    hi all , my report displays "sal and ename" columns of scott/tiger schema .
    i've seen a lot of articles talking about this but i want you to help me to get it :
    1- i want to run report by assigning a value to the "report other" property of the report object .
    i've tried it like so , i wrote sal = 800 or ename = 'SCOTT' in that property "report other" . and it did not work .
    2- and i want to how to do the same with "set_report_object('myrep',report_other,..........) ;
    3- i did it before with a parameter list by creating a parameter in the report builder called "p_sal" and p_ename then
    created a parameter list with :sal and :ename text_items as parameters then added the parameter list to
    run_report_object('myreport',pl) and it did not work too .
    please clarify these to me
    thanks a lot

    Hi,
    You can not check the second link i provided where parameter passing issue is clearly mentioned. you should give space before all parameter.
    Check the second link, it will help you. And for your correction
    SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY(ro,REPORT_OTHER, 'paramform=no p_deptno='||:dept.deptno);Hope you understand...
