Generating signals according to existing signals

Hi,
I don't know if this topic belongs here or not, anyways...
I am trying to generate an injection signal and an ignition one according to a TDC signal (in simulation, no hardware used), which means the two will happen after the rise edge of the TDC signal.  I have created my TDC signal, but do not know how to proceed since I just started learning LabView.
I have attached three screen shots: two for the block diagram and front panel, and another for my ideal goal (single shot, but I would like to generate continuous signals).
Please do NOT ask me to go thru 3hr or 6hr tutorials or so.  I ALREADY did but still don't know how.
Thank you very much for any suggestion!!!
P.S. Please ignore the CAD signal part and its graph.  They are for other purposes.

Bobby,
You can find information about simulating a device in Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX) here and here.
Here is some additional information on triggers; all of them may not be relevant to what you are looking to do, but you can pick and choose which ones to check out:
Analog Trigger
<link no longer exists>
Waveform Acquisition Using an Analog Start Trigger
Waveform Acquisition with an External Trigger and Pretrigger Scans
In addition, there are examples provided with LabVIEW that show how to use a trigger. You can open the example finder from LabVIEW by going to Help and selecting "Find Examples...". Then, select the search tab and put in triggering or trigger. Those examples should help you get started.
Happy learning!

you need to increment the "accumulator increment" during the duration of the chirp.  the "accumulator increment" controls the frequency of the DDS cycle.  by increasing it's value, you are increasing the frequency.  the math for increment values follows the same math as determining the frequency to increment value.

  • How can you segment an audio signal according to the pitch periods?

    hello
i was wondering if someone could give me some pointers as to how can i segment a sound signal according to the pitch periods present in the signal.i have already estimated the pitch periods and i want now to segment the signal according to those periods and multiply them by a uniform windowing function of twice the segment's length
    anybody can help?

    Hi madgreek,
I would highly recommend that you search our Forums and Developer Zone to look for additional help. If you are not able to find any information, you can post your VI and we should be able to troubleshoot the issue.

    Dear Sir:
I would like to know whether I can generate one AC signal and acquire one DC signal and one AC signal together using NI myDAQ? If I can, could you please tell me the easiest way to achieve the goal? If I cannot, please tell me whether I can use both white box to do this because I have got another white box USB-6008. Cheers

Don't create a new thread. In the thread above, you asked for someone to review your code but you did not post a modified VI. Your original one is obviously wrong as I noted.

  • Differential Signal to Single Ended Signal Conversion

    Hi,
Im facing a problem here. I need an ADC that reads 0-20mA. The signal comes from a signal conditioner that creates a differential signal. However, a NI device with single ended inputs is much cheaper than differential inputs.
The signal conditioner already exists and I cant change that.
Im looking for something that can convert the differential signal to a single-ended signal.
I tried finding an IC that does that, but couldnt find one. Do they exist?
Maybe its easier for voltage than for current.
    How is this usually done?
    Best regards,
    Arvel

Use a current sensing resistor and then use a current shunt amplifier.  The amplifier will amplify the voltage drop across the reistor.  From there, you can just read the output voltage with a DAQ.  Create a DAQmx scale to do the math to convert that voltage into a current reading.

I couldn't find the edit button on my original post so I am posting an update here.
I have gone through more apps and have had good luck on all but one more.  And it's not that the app doesn't work, I am talking about the Yahoo Weather app, It works fine, but when you swipe between cities the screen lags a bit and it sometimes doesn't move between pages the way it should.  On iOS 7.1.2 it was smooth as butter but on iOS 8.0, not so much.  I will post a note in the app store to let them know.  I really like the Yahoo app better than the new stock app.
I have been going through my games and they all work fine. Angry Birds (Original and Stella), Canabalt, Minecraft, Bejeweled 2, Silly Walks, PopWords, Doodle Jump, Deep Green all seem to work just fine.
Starbucks app works as it should.
I will stop back again next week after I have had the weekend to play with it in detail and post my thoughts again.

    Hi mediacy:
    Welcome to discussions.
    This from Apple:

Turning off your built-in iSight camera
To turn off the built-in iSight camera, just close
the active iChat window. The green LED next to the
camera will go dark, indicating that the built-in
iSight camera is off and no longer capturing video.
    Does that help?
    Sue
iChat was never on, so i could not close the window.
The isight camera DID come on when I selected it in the drop-down box beside the camera icon above the timeline, then I could not select the camcorder because it did not appear in the drop-down menu. I force-quit iMovie.
I changed firewire cables on the chance that the first was not carrying the signal, but the second one does not produce a camcorder signal either.

  • How to automatically generate ASN according to outbound DN for STO in R3?

    Hi gurus,
In our scenario, we need to automatically generate ASN according to outbound DN for STO. You know we can configure this functionality in ECC system, but it seems impossible in R3 4.7 system. Can we sove this problem by SPRO or user exit/BADI?If not, we have to use PI middleware to make it work.
    Any help will be appreciated.

You can send IDoc from output determination to any system (using ALE) or EDI (through file).
If you are wanting to distribute IDoc to another system within your organization, then use medium 'A' (for distribution through ALE).
In transaction NACE, you can see LAVA output type come with both EDI and ALE mediums enabled (look at Process routines in NACE for output type LAVA). Ensure that in the output condition records are set with medium 'A'. You would of course need partner profile in WE20 with outbound parameters set to match your output.

  • Discrete signal to a continuous signal

    Hi to all,
I'm having this problem with the signal processing, and I hope you could help me...
I have a discrete signal, that is a capturated  with a PIC controller. Now I need that this signal become a continuous signal, so I can use a lot of other VI that I can't use when I have points.
How can I transform the discrete signal in a continuous one?
    Thanks in advance,
    Ricardo.

    Hi,
I don't know what you mean exactly. A solution to yopur problem might be just to build an array with your points. To do that you can use the LabVIEW function called build array.
    Hope this help.

  • I want to use the Function Generator VI to send command signals through the NI 7344 motion controller. This will be a closed loop servo valve system. I want to be able to change from say a square wave to a sine wave on the fly. Idea's?

I am going to run tests that require an actuator to move using various types of arbitrary waveforms such as sine or square. The NI 7344 is hooked to the UMI that is going through a driver for a servo valve. The loop is analog and it is closed. I have played with some of the examples but can't get it to work. I have used the function generator VI to generate a signal but I think I am using the wrong input VI to the motion control board. When I use what I have it moves the servo and then stops. It doesn't continually generate the signal.
I would love to use the controls on the function generator vi to control frequency and amplitude ect. Any help or pointer would be helpful. Thank you in advance.

    Hello,
I'm not clear on exactly how you want to use the generated data but I'm assuming they will be used as your target points.
There's a built-in example for motion called 'One-Axis Contour Move.vi'. This example demonstrates how to provide your target points as 1-D array. All you need to do is to replace the input array with the output of the function generator. In order to have it run continuously, use a while loop. You can further program your application so that it'll change the waveform on the fly by monitoring the user interface but this might be little little tricky as you will need to reset the move and load the new generated points while keeping track of your current position.
I hope this helps. Let me know if you have further questions regarding this
    application.
    Best regards,
    Yusuf C.

  • Wireless signal acquisition and saving signal in text format simultaneously for 5 mins

    Hi,
I am acquiring ECG signal wirelessly and displaying it in in waveform chart. And simultaneously i need to save it in Text format for 5 mins. The problem i am facing is that for saving the signal i am using Write to Measurement File which saves the file in text format..... but while saving the plotting speed decreases.
i am very new to labview.. so plz can any one tell me whether i am missing any thing in it... plz help.....

Why do people always post pictures of their VIs rather than the VIs themselves or at least Snippets?  We can't tell from the picture what Version of LabVIEW you are using (so if we post code, you might not be able to open it), and we can't "play with" your code and try it out without, ourselves, by hand, trying to recreate it from your (sometimes very tiny) diagram.  Please Help Us to Help You!
Here's help anyway to get you started with the Producer/Consumer Design Pattern.
    Open LabVIEW.
Click "File", choose "New ..." (not New VI), and choose (from the templates) Producer/Consumer Design Pattern (Data).
Study the Template and adapt it to your problem.
The Producer would be anything that Generates data.  Once you have the data, you put it on the Queue and send it to the Consumer for all the rest of the processing.  The idea is that the Producer has an inherent timing that it has to meet, otherwise you lose data points.  The Consumer, on the other hand, just needs to "more or less" keep up (actually, the Queue can/will expand, so if the amount of data isn't megabytes, the Consumer can really be quite slow, though you usually want the Consumer, on average, to be at least as fast as the Producer).

  • 3g signal outside house, no signal inside - old house.

I'm in the Chicago area so obviously have coverage.  However, as soon as I get inside the house the signal is practically non-existant.  It switches between 3G with no bar, and 1x with one bar.  The house is old so there shouldn't be any high-tech insulation blocking the signal.  Anyone have any ideas?

But it could be interference from old wiring, What about others devices and being in your house
