Genius Function - Never worked so far in ANY Itunes Version

I'm getting the common [Genius is unavailable for the song "______"]. However, this happens for EVERY song in my music library (708 songs). I've read almost 50 forum recommendations for troubleshooting and tried these:
-Reinstalling iTunes v9
-Moving my music files into different folders (Creating new music libraries, deleting old ones, etc.)
-Converting ID3 Tags (Updating Genius Before and After)
-Unchecking and Rechecking Songs (Updating Genius in between each step)
-Clicking "Run as administrator on iTunes Application"
In the end, I've taken all of these routes and still haven't been successful. I'm hoping someone can provide a specific detail to what exactly is malfunctioning. I'm running a Dell Inspiron 1720 with Vista-32 bit. I believe this could be an issue with Vista compatibility considering that Genius didn't work for me in either version 8 or 9 of iTunes. I'm open to any suggestions. Thanks for the help.
- The Genius Sidebar works perfectly though... Various songs by the artists and other recommendations all are displayed. It's simply that the Genius playlist and mixes that don't work.

Not really sure where this question should go, since it crosses 3 topic areas. Neither my contacts nor my calendar will sync from iMac (mountain lion) to iPad 3 (ios6). I've tried a byzantine series of fixes - mostly involving backing up each, turning off cloud syncing, turning it back on, with lots of little steps in between (I'd be more detailed, but I gave up for several weeks and don't really remember them). Is this a real issue, or am I missing something simple? It's extremely frustrating to have what is advertised as basic functionality not work even a little bit. Especially when 3rd party apps sync just fine. Any help would be much appreciated.

Never mind... It was indeed something simple that I missed (my icloud account was attached to an apple ID I didn't even know existed -- created for me?? ... fixed it - settings, icloud, sign out, signed back in as my actual apple ID).

Your question involves too much detailed reading for me, but here's the way to create a custom ringtone for your iPhone on your Mac:
Use GarageBand.
Check Help > Create Ringtone there.

Why am I not able to type in new URLs in the location bar either in my current tab or any new tab in the middle of my session? I've never had this problem with any other version of Firefox.

For example, I had several tabs open in Firefox 4 just now. For no apparent reason, when I opened a fifth tab, I couldn't click on the location bar or type anything into it even with repeated attempts. I either have to start Firefox again or try going back to a tab that is already open with a page loaded and type into the location bar there. That worked for me to be able to get to this website. This is very frustrating and seriously hampering my ability to use Firefox--which I have previously always been impressed with. I have a 2 year old Dell Optiplex 755 running Windows Vista.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Why is it that Mozilla is too dumb to never include a feature, in any new version, with "new window" and "new tab" that copies our visited pages for us like "new window" on IE does?

Okay, so in IE, when you click "New Window," you get a new window... but not only that, what comes with that is all your previously visited pages from that session. It's helpful because then if you need to copy or compare something from one page you've already visited to one that you're on now, you can have them side-by side, or as in the case with tabs, single-click-by-single-click.
So why don't you ever make that simple but useful feature for your browser, Mozilla?

Right, okay, but we shouldn't have to do that if Mozilla would just get a clue, right? So my real question is this: Why can't Mozilla just make that themselves like Microsoft does?
Maybe Firefox works a bit better than IE except in this regard and with one scrolling problem I just discovered. Am I right?

When placing icons on the menu bar, I can not increase size to large icons. I can make icons larger when putting icons on other bars below menu bar. Never had this problem with any earlier version of FF

This happens with all icon themes including default. I like having the large icons on the menu bar so hopefully this can be fixed.

Why is my internet not working after installing the new iTunes version on my PC?

Last night I installed the latest 11.1 iTunes on my PC and now I have not network connection. So when I restored my PC I have internet but no iTunes and it's becoming one vicious cycle!!!

Photoshop CC recovery never works

Hey everyone, I've been having this issue for a while, but I'm just now trying to figure out what the heck is going on. The problem is in the title, the recovery function never works in Photoshop CC for me, no matter what I do or what auto-save intervals I set it to. Last night I lost 4 hours of work because of a crash and nothing came up once again. I even tried looking in the folder where PS CC supposedly auto-saves and once again nothing was there. I was hoping maybe someone could shed some light on the matter of why it's not working?
I'm running PS CC on Windows 8.1

In my flex application some functionality is working some times and not working sometimes..
In my project i have 5 sections with 5 separate screens..Each screen is of one diffeent module.
After logining into the application:
I will go to one screen..First time every functionality is working in that screen..
Ex:: I have a screen with datagrid.From that user will select one job name from datagrid click on next button..
Based the job name the user selected i have to display some information in next screen and customer names.customer names is a combo box..

This functionality is working fine when i visit to this screen first time..If you go back to another screen and come back to this same screen and click on next button this time customer names combo box has no customer details..I am getting Nullpointer Exception and it is showing the line number 5( i have given the number for code given above..)
If i change the first line of the code to below code:: every time the above functionality is working fine.Not getting any error msg..

Hi Satya,
This sometimes as in your case might not work as the way you have specified the RemoteClass attribute in your AS class. As somtimes there may be a case as before it is mapped to a server side you are returned the data and so that you may not get the data as your Custom class but as normal Object type.
So in order to avoid this you can map the server side class to AS classes in the PreInitialize handler itself as shown below:
Specify the preinitializeHandler in your main application and write the below function.This way also you can map AS classes with the server side. So that you will not have any problem referring your application as AS class types.
You can use the same line for registering all the classes. By using this you can remove all the [RemoteClass] attributes on all AS classes and include it at single place.

Here in the above line of code the string in quotes refer to the namespace of the Server side class and the latter is your AS class. Also dont forget to import the namespace of the corresponding AS class in the file.

You have been asked to post the code. We cannot troubleshoot pictures.
Are the X and Y arrays the same lenght? Is any value NaN? What does the error output tell you?
(Also note that in this case, it would be convenient if we don't need to wire X. have a look at this idea!)

Will iPad mini sync with any iTunes and MacOS?

Will the latest iPad mini (with OS7) sync with any iTunes version and any MacOS? My old iPod syncs with iTunes 10 (10.6.3) on a MacG5 with 10.5.8 operating system. I'd like to sync the iPad Mini with this Mac, but I have my doubts since the computer is so old.

iOS 7 requires iTunes Version 11
OS X 10.6.8 = Snow Leopard... is the minimum OS X for iTunes 11

I found the update function for Genius which is hidden in the Store menu but not in the actually Store. I repeatedly update Genius, get the message that it is communicating with Apple, then that Genius is updated but it never works. What gives?

Repeted updates to Genius do nothing. I always get an error message for all 13,000 songs I have. My disc drive crashed and its taken months to reload click by click every song from the cloud or my computer. iTunes repeatedly crashes if you try to load more than about 50 songs at a time, and always crashes around the 200th song. All my playlists were erased and when I synch one of my two iPods everything on that was erased including all the play lists, I don't ever want to synch my other iPod because it still has dozens of my play lists that it took years to create based on 13,000 songs. So warning iTunes totally ***** if this ever happens to you. My Zune account on the other hand was fine. Anyway back to the question at hand - Genius use to work for my collection. Genius still works for the iPod which I will never synch again, why doesn't it work for my collection now despite repeated updates. Suppose its just another buggy Apple piece of software. BTW don't ever use Apple's iCloud it eats your entire music collection, erases it from you computer and then doles it out one click at a time from the cloud - another stupid piece of software from the geniuses at Apple. But why am I surprised Apple destroyed the record industry, so why not destroy everyone's CD collection and just reduce us all to slaves of iTunes and its magic. I'm sick of Apple and its bloated reputation for great software.

Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATION" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up").
In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any QuickTime entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC. Now try another QuickTime install (Version 7.7.1). Does it go through properly this time?

Trackpad scroll function not working in any app - tried everything

Hello.
This is my 1st time writing in the forums, and although I have read multiple threads on this issue, nothing has yet solved my problem, including: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1248, & http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1449. SO ANY HELP IS WELCOME! I have a mid-2010 MBP 13" intel-based dual core with Mavericks OSX 10.9.1 installed already a couple of months now. As of last night, my two-finger scroll does not function in any app. It is the ONLY function on my trackpad that does not work. I have tried changing all scroll preferences, restarting the browser (firefox 27.0.1) & computer, as well as opening Preview app 7.0 to see if it affects other apps as well. It does not work even in Finder. I looked in the permissions section of my apps by right-clicking on "get info" & there seems to be a discrepancy between the default users and their permissions. I am wondering if this is perhaps the problem and can be reset somehow to default settings or if there is a terminal command that can reset the trackpad (like the PC function in the device manager of the control panel, diagnose/repair)? I have a screen shot of the different users/permissions that I can send/post you if necessary, but you'll have to explain me how to do this, as this is my 1st post. Thank-you!

So whoever falls on this issue, I have visited the Apple Genius Bar today & this is what finally solved my problems:
1. We created a TEST guest account in System Preferences to find out if it was a user-specific related problem, and it was as the 2-finger scroll function was working in the new user account. I was told this means that the problem is due to a setting that was recently added/deleted/changed.
2. We deleted the new user account.
3. We deleted the entire user library folder (except the Mail folder), as that is where all preferences are apparently stored.
4. VOILA! 2-finger scrolling now functions as was intended (only all settings must now be recreated).
It is tedious, but at least everything functions as normal & nothing needs to be backed up!
Hope if anyone else has had this problem, they find this post.

AirPlay Mirroring is supported on your Mac, but it needs OS X Mountain Lion (10.8). See > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5404
You have two possibilities:
1. Make a backup, open App Store and purchase Mountain Lion to upgrade to this OS X. Then, you will find the AirPlay Mirroring icon at the top right of the display, on the menu bar, or on System Preferences > Displays.
2. Keep OS X Lion and use AirParrot > http://www.airparrot.com
Both options work properly, but I recommend AirPlay Mirroring as it doesn't need a third-party program
