Geocoder supported countries

Hi,
The Spatial User's Guide and Reference states the following "The GC_PARSER_PROFILES and GC_PARSER_PROFILEAFS tables store address format definitions of all supported counties."
I would like to know if South Africa is or can be one of these supported countries. If it is not currently supported, what is needed to enable the support of the geocoding engine.

Hi,
I did some work earlier in the year where we used the 10g (R1) Geocoder with some UK data. I have to say it wasn't the easiest project i've ever worked on. The main issues I had were that the supplied data not was necessarily in an easy format to convert to the fairly strict requirements of the geocoder, and, as you point out, the GC_PARSER_PROFILES and GC_PARSER_PROFILEAFS tables don't have non-US configurations in them (or didn't). I copied the US one and made what I thought were reasonable equivalents for the the UK but it wasn't ideal. Configuring these tables is central to getting it all working and many countries aren't as simple to configure as the USA!
I had spoke to someone at Oracle about wether Oracle are "supposed" to supply these tables pre-populated with all supported configurations (i.e it's a bug) or wether we're on our own if we're outside the US. (I didn't get a reply alas).
Good luck - it's hard work, but can be done!

  • Activate iMessage/FaceTime in non-supported countries?

    Hi all,
Any one knows how to activate iMessage and FaceTime in not supported countries like Syria for example?
My device is iPhone 6 Plus and it is stuck in waiting for activation.
I've tried log in and out many times and reset my network settings but it didn't work.
    any help is appreciated !

I've spent days going over forums and Apple documentation on this issue. Bottom line, if you're with Wind, you cannot activate your phone number for Message or FaceTime.
So today, I spent hours on the phone with Wind and Apple to try and get to the bottom of the issue.
I had to go through rounds of discussion to prove all remedies had been tried and failed and that this was an Apple/Wind problem that would only be solved by them working together to identify the problem and fix it.
I persisted until I finally escalated the issue to the point where Apple is "opening a ticket" to address the problem with Wind.
They said to give it a few days.
    Fingers crossed....

  • How to implement Personal Information for non supported countries

    Hi,
Can anyone give me some tips on how to implement Personal Information ESS services for countries which are not supported by the standard business package. We need to implement for the following countries as well as a part of global implementation.
    Cyprus
    Czech Republic
    Egypt
    Ireland
    Luxembourg
    Monaco
    Russia
    Ukraine
    Regards,
    Subhadip

    Hi Subhadip,
You need to the following customization settings in SPRO.
Personnel Management->ESS->Service Specific settings->OWn Data->Reuse Country Specific Application
Just follow the IMG documentation and it should be done.  Basically we do,
    1.  Identify the Infotype and the country for which we want to re-use existing application (e.g Egypt).
    2.  Select the country from which you want to copy the screens (e.g. Australia, India)
    3. Specify the "Use Case and Active Subtypes" for that country.  Follow the documentation for this node.
    4. Maintain country specific entries for services (in this case will add entries for the new countries added).
    Hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Jigar

  • Geocoding support

I am trying to use Oracle Spatial to geocode addresses. Is it possible to geocode an address through a PL/SQL routine ?

    Oracle Spatial doesn't geocode addresses.
You will need other software or a service to provide that capability,
and the results of that process can be stored in Oracle Spatial
or be used in Oracle Spatial queries.

  • Unsupported Countries

    Hi,
    I got a 5800 with gps.
I'm looking for map for Costa Rica.
I know there no full support of costa rica maps,
but can I found some static map (I only want to see where I am on a map).
    Alternatives solutions could be
    a) Download online ovi maps to browse them offline but how can we do this to get our current gps position displayed
(or if someone has a solution with google maps or other free solution)
    b) or is it possible to get a simple bitmap specifying first and last gps point to see where we are
    1st point -->  _________
                  |         |
                  |         |
                  |    x    |
                  |_________| <-- last point
With first, last point and current gps point, a quick ratio can provide us our position.
Best Regards and thanks for your help !!!

  • Why and how does Adobe Store's policy deliberately impede Least Developed Countries from developing?

    Hi there,
My name is Dr Eric Mousset. I currently reside in Cambodia, having the privilege to serve as (international) Technical Assistant to support a Government project that is co-funded by the Royal Government of Cambodia and the World Bank, and purposed to Higher Education Capacity and Quality Improvement.
My mission implies conducting a survey on skills demand by employers and skills supply by Higher Education Institutions, in order to better inform further policy development.
Among the expected policy outcomes: a more effective alignment between skills supply and job market needs.
Among the desired policy impacts: providing the Cambodian economy with the HR skills that are required for its growth and diversification.
I am impressed by the combined capabilities of Adobe Acrobat XI Pro and Adobe Forms Central. And until this morning it was on top of my shortlist of surveying tools.
Unfortunatley, while attempting to upgrade to FormsCentral's "Plus" plan, I have received the following reply from Adobe:
    Unsupported Country
    Thus here is my question:
Why and how does Adobe Store's policy deliberately impede Least Developed Countries from developing?
    Yours sincerely,
    Dr Eric Mousset

    Hi;
I can't speak to the business decisions that lead to which countries we enable purchasing subscriptions in the store, but I can guarantee you that it is not to impede anyones development.
A credit card with an address in any of the supported countries can be used for purchasing the subscription, this has enabled many to get around the issue, but that is the only way to subscribe.
    Thanks,
    Josh

  • When will Siri support Greek?

    When will Siri support Greek?

That would be a question to ask Apple, not users   But I'm sure they probably won't know either, so maybe it's a rhetorical question?
I'm sure when it becomes available, they will posted it here with all the other languages: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4992
    Language support and availability
Siri understands and can speak the following languages:
    United States (English, Spanish)
    United Kingdom (English)
    Australia (English)
    France (French)
    Germany (German)
    Japan (Japanese)
    Canada (Canadian French, English)
    China (Mandarin)
    Hong Kong (Cantonese)
    Italy (Italian)
    Korea (Korean)
    Mexico (Spanish)
    Spain (Spanish)
    Switzerland (French, German, Italian)
    Taiwan (Mandarin)
Can I use Siri in any of these languages in other countries?
Yes. You can enable Siri in any country, and you can choose to speak to it in any of the languages that Siri supports. However, Siri is designed to recognize the specific accents and dialects of the supported countries listed above. Since every language has its own accents and dialects, the accuracy rate will be higher for native speakers. Find more information regarding which Siri features are supported around the world.

  • HT4341 Using Apple's world Travel Kit, do I need a devise that transforms 220 volts to 120 volts?

If I use the Apple world trael adapter kit for Europe, do I need anything that changes 220 volts to 120 volts?

    Hey Babis Babinis,
Thanks for the question. Nope! As long as you are using the power adapter that accompanied your MacBook when purchased, you are good to go. Apple’s power adapters support line voltages from 100 to 240 V. In example, see page 3 of the manual for our latest line of MacBooks:
    http://manuals.info.apple.com/MANUALS/1000/MA1665/en_US/macbook_pro-retina-late- 2013_ipig.pdf
Additionally, this resource you came from provides some helpful information:
Because the devices listed above have auto-sensing and auto-switching power supplies, all you need to do is attach the correct AC plug adapter to the device to have it work correctly in other supported countries.

    Hello,
    Here's the AppWorld catalog page:
    http://appworld.blackberry.com/webstore/content/3729/?lang=en
In the section related to "Supported Countries", India is not listed...I can only guess as to "why", but normally this has to do with governmental restrictions in that country. There likely are some features of the new BBM that India has not yet approved.
    Hope this helps!

  • How to change the Busy tone of WIC-2FXS in 2610

My local FXS card is connected to my office PBX CO port. When a far end caller disconnects a VoIP session, my local FXS generates a very strange tone to my PBX so that the AA of my PBX cannot detect such busy tone and hence cannot drop the call. The strange tone is very different from the normal busy tone from PSTN.
Anyone can teach me how to change the FXS busy tone when a VoIP session is disconnected.
    Thanks.

Configure the voice port for the local territory's call progress tone setting. The call progress tone setting determines the settings for dialtone, busytone, and ringback tone.
The default for this command is northamerica. For a list of supported countries

  • Unlocked iPhone from T-Mobile does not work in Switzerland

I'm extremely annoyed. I bought myself a *so called unlocked* iPhone in Germany for 999 Euro and now it does not work with a Swiss SIM card. When I try to make calls via dialing or when i try to read text messages (sms) the phone and the sms application will crash. Calling the different helplines ends up in the same resutls: Apple care blames either Swisscom or T-Mobile, T-Mobile blames either Swisscom or Apple and Swisscom blames Apple or T-Mobile...
In the end however, I can't get rid of the feeling that the problem could be solved by a very simple software update, because I've seen hacker reports on the internet claiming they were able to solve the problem by changing a few settings. I don't want to be forced to hack my legally bought so called unlocked iPhone. *When will Apple set the "unlocked" iPhone really free?*

    Hi Pete,
welcome to the club! A you can see from this thread
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1260589&tstart=0
you are not the only one. It seems as if the T-Mobile unlocked phones work with any German SIM card, but with non from not-Apple supported countries (like CH).
Apple support is aware of the problem, as many of us have called them and submitted bug reports, but it remains to be seen, if Apple is interested enough in "us" to provide a solution.
