Get Applet object

Hi everybody,
I have several frames in an HTML page (nothing in static, all is generated).
I have 1 applets in the frame 1 and an applet in the frame 2.
I would like to get the applet object (java.Applet.applet) of the applet 1 in the applet 2 ...
How could I do ?
For the moment, I get :
JSObject jsXelonContainer = (JSObject) ((JSObject) ((JSObject) window.getMember("top")).getMember("frames")).getMember("myFrame1");
JSObject myDoc = (JSObject)jsXelonContainer.getMember("document");
JSObject applets = (JSObject)myDoc.getMember("applets");
Nothing is null at this point. But I don't know how to get the Applet I want from the "applets"
May be is there another simplier way ...
Any idea ?
Thanks in advance
Rafax.

Ok.
In my case, it is an applet.
- The code declaration :
<OBJECT classid="clsid:8AD7C840-044E-11D1-B1E9-00805F499D93" width="200" height="200" align="left"
     codebase="http://java.sun.com/products/plugin/1.2.2/jinstall-122-win32.cab#Version=1,2,2,0" name="bootstrap" >
     <PARAM NAME="code" VALUE="com.elogiq.xelon.client.web.bootStrap">
     <PARAM NAME="archive" VALUE="../jar/myArchive.jar">
     <PARAM NAME="codebase" value="./class">
     <PARAM NAME="type" VALUE="application/x-java-applet;version=1.3">
     <PARAM NAME="name" value="myApplet">
     <PARAM NAME="scriptable" value="true">
     <PARAM NAME="MAYSCRIPT" value="true">
</OBJECT>
the classId your are saying ... is it the classid ? (I don't think, but ...)
Thanks,
Rafax

  • Retrieve applet object

    I'm fairly new to Java and I've been concentrating my efforts in applet programming. One thing I've noticed is that I seem to require the Applet object a lot in my code as I'm doing a lot of file reading (applet.getCodeBase, etc). I have a few instances in my code where I pass the applet object to different packages to perform basic operations and I'm starting to feel as if I'm doing this wrong.
    Is there a way to obtain the applet object using a global static function?

    Hi Mr Lob, will you think about the fact seriously that still no one seems to have understood your problemI know, the talent here is shocking.
    As often illustrations could help...I agree when you are demonstrating algorithms, discussing implementation, compilation errors etc. Mind, I would have knocked something up for you if you'd have responded with some decency and not made out there was a problem with my post. Telling me to post a demo is impolite, you could have asked to see something and I would have gladly responded. You don't know me & I don't you know, so you shouldn't assume you have superiority over me.
    I just wanted a brief code that could illustrate your problem/issue.You'd have a class declaration (unrelated to 'Applet') with an empty function member, in it would be a comment saying:
    // I would like to get applet object the libraries invoked at this point in the code...Close your eyes and imagine it...
    So it is plain obvious that the looser in these word battle is you, not petes1234 et al.LOL. Firstly, I never said petes1234 was a 'loser', he's just an idiot for posting unrelated & directly offensive comments. It's water off a ducks back, mind. Secondly, there's no way I'm a loser posting what I have. However, I will settle for 'loser in the quest to find an accomplished Java programmer within this public forum.'
    I thought I was a part of the 'do-not-help' list? Why are you still posting? Let it lie...
    Just so you know, I found an answer to my question elsewhere asking exactly the same thing. Now, .... "Think about that!"

  • Getting applets to work in Firefox or IE7!!

    Hi folks.
    I've been reading Jason Hunters excellet book on Java Servlet Programming and become rather stuck on being able to get applets to work in a browser.
    1) I managed to briefly get an Applet to work in IE7. Then things went astray (I say work, because applet initially displayed correctly graphically)
    2) I introduced a bug and tried to redisplay. And haven't been able to recover.
    3) When 2) occurred I swapped over to Firefox, since IE7 doesn't have a Java Console. (& theres no setting to enable it in security settings either)
    4) Then Firefox prompted to download JRE... This was an odd one to me.... Since I already had a Java runtime...
    I got this through downloading file java_app_platform_sdk-5_04-windows.exe
    java -version yeilds:
    Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600]
    (C) Copyright 1985-2001 Microsoft Corp.
    C:\Documents and Settings\Jeremy>java -version
    java version "1.6.0_04"
    Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_04-b12)
    Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 10.0-b19, mixed mode)
    C:\Documents and Settings\Jeremy>
    Browser Versions
    IE : is at version 7.0.5730.13
    Firefox started out at 2.0.0.12... Now Firefox didn't seem to detect the JRE
    5) It said additional plugins are required to display the media on this page...
    6) I clicked the button to "Install missing plugins"
    It then presents Plugin Finder Service with "Available Plugin Downloads" of Java Runtime Environment with checkbox ticked.
    7) I clicked "next", at which point it completes saying
    No plugins were installed
    Java Runtime Environment failed with "Manual Install" button...
    Clicking said button gave me executeable xpiinstall.exe from http://sdlc-esd.sun.com
    8) When I ran this it
    a) proceeded to cause Firefox to crash and a report was sent to Mozilla...
    b) created a restore point called "Installed Java (TM) 6 update 5..
    9)So now I went back to IE 7 having given up on Firefox...
    Now it complained about missing classes which I felt sure were in a jar I'd deployed in Tomcat...
    10) I tried to validate my assumptions by looking inside the Jar with Winzip...
    Then I got a pop up with "Java Virtual Machine Launcher" in its title saying..
    "Failed to load Main-Class manifest attribute from cos.jar"
    At this point I realised 8) was the culprit after posting here and looking at possible causes for said pop-up.
    [http://www.artima.com/forums/flat.jsp?forum=1&thread=61427&start=75&msRange=15]
    None of solutions posted there seemed to apply to me
    11) So now I restored to a restore point prior to 8) and though my problems were over
    12) I've since upgraded to Firefox 2.0.0.14. Firefox pushed update to me. Also tried manually uninstalling and downloading file. Still saying missing plugin!!!
    13) I've tried changing my tags in my html from
    APPLET to OBJECT for IE7 or EMBED for Firefox..
    I've validated my APPLET with APPLETVIEWER following advice posted here:
    [http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/deployment/applet/index.html]
    No tell tale signs appear in Tomcat Console or logs..
    *The only thing that seems weird is codebase tag*
    14) Book I've been reading mentioned putting both html code and applet class in root folder of tomcat
    I've hosted both files here:
    C:\Apps\apache-tomcat-6.0.16\webapps\ROOT
    15) When I test with appletviewer from this folder and codebase set to / appletviewer doesn't find class.
    I think I need to set this so when web browser runs it finds class. Maybe this is the route of my problems.
    What's haunting me here though is placeholder for applet graphic worked at one point!
    I don't recall fussing with codebase attribute of applet tag, yet suddenly things stopped working.
    16) When I tried to verify with appletviewer I had to remove codebase attribute completely to get things to work.
    Here are three versions of html file. Firefox version doesn't seem to be recognized by Appletviewer
    Applet tag version: (BTW have tried with CODEBASE=/ too. This was how it appeared in book, Remember I'm hosting in Tomcat 6.0.16)

    I don't want to be staring at a placeholder in a Web Browser.
    I want to GUI as it appears in AppletViewer and how it once had it working in IE7!
    You wouldn' t think that was to much to ask for would you! Sorry for length of this post.
    Any clues as to where to go next would be greatly appreciated as I'm pulling hairs out with frustration at the moment...
    A few of footnotes:
    1) I've relaxed my security zone settings for intranet, added localhost to local intranet sites..
    2) I've tried deleting all temporay files in IE7 even to point of resetting to install setup thinking there may be some sort of caching issue with bad applet... No luck
    3) I can still get Glassfish server to login to Admin Console.
    So the integrity of my pc should me intact based on the shenanigans of point 11. Restoring to get rid of second JRE

    I'm not sure what to tell you. I've never had any trouble installing the JRE and getting applets to work. Maybe it's an IE7 thing. Firefox is usually easier to configure.
    Anyway, it sounds like something that you need to be sitting at your computer to fix, so I don't know how useful a forum will be. It might be best just to ask a coworker with a lot of arcane knowledge to take a look at it.1) Unfortunately I'm learning from home and don't have the luxury of asking a co-worker. Have fired off email to one of folks at Sun..
    In my efforts to try and track down the problem yesterday, Google uncovered some interesting findings regarding Caching of Applets. Thought I'd share this:
    2) [http://www.velocityreviews.com/forums/t603400-ltobjectgt-tag-and-applet-caching.html]
    There is an interesting post some way down posted by james.a.cleland
    Quote:
    "My solution is to x-c in the Java console to clear
    this cache. This works without unloading the JVM and while the applet
    is running. It looks like the browser isn't caching any applets. At
    least my browser cache doesn't contain any, although I do regularly
    use half a dozen, so it must be the JRE. Anyway, clearing through the
    console solves my problem".
    I can't access Java Console in IE7 as you know...
    3) There is always another way to skin a cat regarding clearing cache.
    Found this here:
    [http://www.aurigma.com/Support/DocViewer/28/UpdatingImageUploaderonClientSide.htm.aspx]
    Search for Java section
    Quote:
    "Java applets are stored in the cache that is accessible through the Java control panel. Follow these steps to do it:
    Open Java Plug-in Control Panel. Depending on the platform, it can be found in different locations:
    Windows: Control Panel -> Java Plug-in
    Click the Cache tab.
    Click Clear to clear all cached applets."
    *Problem is that there is no Java Plug-In within Control panel. Mentioned this with Coffee Cup reference above..*
    4) Also saw this article on *"How to troubleshoot Java applet and component download problems"* at:
    [http://support.microsoft.com/kb/241111]
    Java console or output log section:
    Javalog.txt in the windows\java or winnt\java directory
    windows\java contains
    - classes
    - trustdb
    No such file: classes & trustdb are empty folders.
    5) I have same problem mentioned here:
    [http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=915520&SiteID=1]
    Quote:
    "I cannot get java applets to display on any web pages - instead this message appears:
    alt="Your browser understands the <APPLET> tag but isn't running the applet, for some reason." Your browser is completely ignoring the <APPLET> tag! "
    Yep. That's my predicament.
    BTW: Get this by doing test here:
    [http://java.sun.com/products/plugin/1.5.0/demos/applets/Clock/example1.html]
    6) Sun's Verify Installation fails on me too:
    [http://www.java.com/en/download/installed.jsp]
    7) I'm interested in knowing how IE7 caches the applets too. Does it store some sort of class-id in the registry? (I'm on XP SP2)
    8) Is there an installation integrity verifier for Sun? Something that verifies the integrity against a baseline install and reports anomalies.Like I mentioned earlier I've got java_app_platform_sdk-5_04-windows.exe file installed. Not the latest incarnation, but the one immediately before. With SE 1.6.0_04-b12 built built into it

  • How can i get session object based on session id?

    I have tried searching in forum but i can't find any solution that i can get session object based on session id and i also would like to know how to check whether the session is still active? My company currently using weblogic 5.1. I really hope that some one or anyone can help. I am new in using Servlet. I hope that i can find some answer here. Thank you.

    I have a need to get a Session object from a session id, so I don't think that the above should be deprecated. Here is my use case:
    0. I am displaying files in a file list
    1. I am downloading files.
    2. I am downloading files through a Servlet
    3. I am displaying the files as images in an applet
    4. The applet is ImageJ, and it apparently uses a full URL to download the file.
    5. I use request.getRequestURL() in the applet .jsp to get the full URL (the hostname and port)
    6. My app server is OC4J and it's behind an apache server and is host aliased.
    7. Thus the hostname is different between my applet .jsp and the Servlet URLs
    8. Thus I have 2 different sessions
    9. Thus I need to pass the session id (or some other unique identifier).
    10. I could stored the unique identifier in the application object, but then I would need to clean it up
    11. I cannot pass the the full path to the image due to security problems (what if someone downloads my password file?)
    12. I would like this to work in a clustered environment
    13. I think that WebDAV would solve my problems, since I could pass a full URL of webDAV to ImageJ for download. However, I am unsure how the security of WebDAV would work with ImageJ/URLConnection. I will have to research this feature in ImageJ.

  • JavaScript's Applet Object

    I am trying to use JavaScript's Applet object to access my applet in the left frame, from a java script embedded in a JSP file in the right frame.
    I can assign the object to a variable as in:
    var ap = parent.frames["leftframe"].document.applets[0];
    But when I try to call a public method on the applet as in:
    ap.TestApplet();
    I get an error in the page saying:
    Error: Object doesn't support this property or method.
    My applet was embedded in the left frame with <jsp:plugin> tag. So I am not directly using HTML's Applet tag. So I am not able to pass MAYSCRIPT flag to the HTML's applet tag. Question is, do I need MAYSCRIPT flag for what I am trying to do? If so, is there any way to pass MAYSCRIPT flag?
    Thanks for any help.
    - Krishna.

    Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
    Thanks,
    Krishna.

  • Client Install Fails - Unable to get Win32_OperatingSystem object

    I have a PC that won't install the SCCM client via Client Push.  In the CCM.Log file on the site server, it connects to the IPC$ and admin$ shares using my client installation account, but then it comes back with this error:
    ---> Unable to get Win32_OperatingSystem object from WMI on remote machine "PCNAME", error = 0x80080005.
    I know that error means that access was denied to WMI, and I verified that when I run wbemtest manually (using the same client installation account), I can connect to the root\cimv2 object on that PC but when I try to enumerate the instances of the Win32_OperatingSystem object, I get the same error.
    I also tried using Computer Management applet (remotely - I have no local access to this PC) to look at the WMI Control properties.  Again, I get the same access denied error so I can't check/change the security permissions that way.
    I have verified that my client installation account is in the local Administrators group of the PC.  I've already tried rebuilding the WMI repository - that worked but it didn't fix the access issue.  I know I can install the client manually but I'm guessing I'd still have a problem with inventories, etc. that are dependent on access to that WMI object.  Any suggestions about how to go about fixing the WMI access issue?
    Thanks so much, --Jo

    Finally getting back to this issue after vacaton... sigh.
    I got a little further.  I took client push out of the mix and ran ccmsetup.exe locally on the PC.  This time the client installation ran.  However, I'm still getting a similar error from the client itself and the client is not talking to the site.  After the client was installed, only about 10 of the log files showed up in system32\ccm\logs.
    ccmexec.log shows this error:
    Endpoint'PolicyAgent_PolicyEvaluator' return 0x80070057 from event notification
    PolicyAgentProvider.log has these lines repeating:
    Failed to create actual config class for 'CCM_RootCACertificates'
    Failed to update namespace 'Machine' (80041002)
    Successfully updated namespace 'DefaultMachine'
    Successfully updated namespace 'DefaultUser'
    Failed to create actual config class for 'CCM_MulticastConfig'
    Failed to update namespace 'Machine' (80041002)
    PolicyEvaluator.log has this error:
    Received notification that Local policy has changed.
    Failed to trigger Machine settings update (80070057)
    SrcUpdateManager has these errors:
    Instance of CCM_SourceUpdateClientConfig doesn't exist in WMI
    Failed to get instance of CCM_SourceUpdateHistory, error 80041002
    ClientIDManagerStartup.log has these errors:
    GetSystemEnclosureInfo failed (0x80080005)
    ComputeHardwareID failed (0x80080005).
    RegTask: Failed to create registration request body. Error: 0x80080005
    The rest of the logs that exist (LocationServices, StatusAgent, ClientLocation, RemCtrl, and setuppolicyevaluator) appear to be OK.
    These seem to all be WMI-related errors/issues, but I can't find any specific information on any SCCM/SMS websites/forums that address these particular errors in these particular log files.  I've tried rebuilding the repository (several times), I've done the regsvr stuff as discussed above, etc.
    I ran WMIDIAG next.  It ran for a little less than two hours - not sure if that's normal or not, but the log file continued to update the entire time.  Now I have this log file and I'm not sure what to do with the issues I found.  I'm looking at the WMI REPORT: BEGIN section...  I see instructions that make sense for most of the errors.  However, the section of log file below shows the area that is most likely causing issues for SCCM because it is the same error I get on the client install.  I have no idea how to fix this stuff - any help would be appreciated:

    32064 14:20:05 (0) **      the application supporting the providers has been uninstalled.
    32065 14:20:05 (0) **    - The WMI provider binary files are not accessible (e.g. access denied ACL).
    32066 14:20:05 (0) **    - A WMI provider registration problem at the CIM level (MOFCOMP.EXE) or at the COM level (REGSVR32.EXE).

    32077 14:20:05 (0) ** => To correct this situation, you can:
    32078 14:20:05 (0) **    - Install or start the application supporting these providers.
    32079 14:20:05 (0) **    - Register the providers in CIM (MOFCOMP) or DCOM (REGSVR32).
    32080 14:20:05 (0) **    Note: In this case the provider should also be listed in the 'missing WMI

  • Getting Applets to Work on the Web

    Last semester, I took a Java programming class. While polishing up my resume recently, I decided that a couple of assignments I did for the class would look good in my porfolio, and attempted to upload them to my website.
    Unfortunately, the class I took focused exclusively on getting applets to run on you local machine. Nothing I did for the class works in a web browser. This leads me to two questions:
    1) IMO, Java that doesn't work in a web browser pretty much defeats the purpose of using Java. Since my local college's Comp Sci program is obviously failing in this regard, what are good resources to learn the Right Way to program in Java (ie, the way that works in web browsers)?
    2) Are any of the things I did in class salvagable by any means short of starting over from scratch? Below is a cut-n-paste of a typical applet we wrote for the class, using the teacher's reccomended methods. If someone could point me in the right direction for getting this to work in a browser, I'd be very grateful.:

    1) Applets that run in web browsers used to be "hip" in at one point in the dark 1990's. That time is forever gone and good riddance. Today big enterprise applications and sophisticated special purpose desktop applications are the Right Way&trade; to go with Java.
    If you want action in your browser, look into Macromedia's Flash technology.
    If you want to deploy your application easily in an applet-like fashion (one click from a browser), look into Java Webstart.
    Demos: http://java.sun.com/products/javawebstart/demos.html
    Documentation: http://java.sun.com/products/javawebstart/developers.html
    2) It's a trivial task to write a launcher applet for any given application so that the applet starts the application in a new window. The security restrictions imposed on applets ("sandbox") might make it impossible to use the application; for instance you cannot write or read files on the local hard drive or make network connections to other servers than where the applet was loaded from. You cannot call System.exit to quit the virtual machine.
    At its simplest the lancher applet code would look ilke:public class Launcher extends java.applet.Applet {
        public void start() {
            YourApplicatioMainClass.main(null);
    }and in the html you would write:<applet code="Launcher" height="1" width="1">
    </applet>See the "Writing applets" tutorial for further information http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/applet/index.html

  • Applet object

    can i somehow get the refernce of the applet object which the browser creates.
    i am writing a class which has to b deployed in a web server.
    can i get the ref of the applet object which the browser makes on a client request
    thanx in advance.
    Pradnya

    You mean you want to get a reference to an Applet instance on the server?
    I would imagine that in the majority of environments this is not possible.
    Could you provide more information about what you're trying to do?

  • Applet/object param name="legacy_lifecycle" value="true"/ documentation?

    I've recently stumbled across this applet/object parameter as a solution to a problem. However I can't find the official documentation of it anywhere, and believe me I've looked. I did find a reference to it in some Oracle product documentation but nowhere in the Java Plugin or Deployment documents. Has anybody spotted it anywhere? Urban myth? Legend? It certainly seems to work.

  • Cannot Acccess Applet Object from Java Script

    Hi,
    I am using jRE1.5, and Kava Chart Applets. Those applet jars are compiled in jdk 1.5 version. I have created one jsp where I used ,<applet> tag. The problem is when ever I am going to access the applet object from java script it is not returning the actual java applet object, when put an alert message it shows [object]. So i am not able to access the methods or the applet class.and also the screen gets hung, nothing is coming.It get stuck at the point where i tried to access the applet method like document.getElementById(applet_id).<<<some method of the applet class>>.Also it is not showing any kind of javascript error or Applet class exceptions.
    But the strange thing is, when i use jdk 1.6, the page is running fine.Also when i try to print the applet object from javascript it is showing the proper class name.
    Please help me solving the problem.

    A number of changes and improvements were made between 1.5 and 1.6 - the entire plugin is new. You need to change to 1.6, as 1.5 goes EOL about November this year and future changes to this area in 1.5 are unlikely.

    Sql developer 2.1.1.64.39 with its own JDK
    As the download links on OTN are broken I can not upgrade, and I'd rather not work in command line sqlplus.
    Help!!!

    My copy of sqldeveloper isn't located in that directory. Would that matter?
    In the mean time I have disabled filtering the tables node. Opening the tables node doesn't result in exceptions anymore.
    Now, when I click on any table in that node I get 4 identical ora-904 error messages for sys.o.name for any table.
    Apparently it is querying either the all_objects view and it thinks it is querying sys.obj$.
    I didn't yet enable sql_trace for the session, I'm more or less giving up on sqldeveloper. I can not use the space bar in any datagrid, sqldeveloper has always been extreemly unresponsive when navigating the schema browser (as opposed to Toad), etc, etc. Too bad I bought Sue Harpers book, but I think I will be de-installing sqldeveloper soon.

  • Getting Duplicate Object existing issue while deploying the BIAR file

    Hi All,
    We are trying to deploy BIAR File with XI R2 Command tool InstallEntSdkWrapper. But we are getting Duplicate Object exixting issue while deploying the BIAR file.
    Error Message:
    [report] [InstallEntSdkWrapper.main] Connecting to CMS plmdevapp31:6400 as administrator
       [report] [InstallEntSdkWrapper.CmsImportFile] Exception: An error occurred at the server :
       [report] Failed to commit objects to server : Duplicate object name in the same folder.
       [report]
       [report] [InstallEntSdkWrapper.main] BIAR File could not be imported
    If we are doing any promition with Import Wizard we have an option to "Overwrite object contents" option to overwite exixting objects. It will very helpful if any one suggest how we can achieve this through InstallEntSdkWrapper.
    Unfortunately there is no documentation availabe on InstallEntSdkWrapper.
    Cheers!

    That's a limitation with the XI Release 2 InstallEntSdkWrapper.jar tool.
    Sincerely,
    Ted Ueda

  • Web Dynpro Java : Failed to get deployable object part info for component

    Currently we have a web dynpro java project which connects to the ABAP backend with Web Services. Everything seems fine, and when we transport to the production server via NWDI, we have the following error. Everytime we try to access the application , the error is occurred.
    com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.exceptions.WDRuntimeException: Failed to get deployable object part info for component com.sie.attachmentcomp.AttachmentComp
        at com.sap.tc.webdynpro.clientserver.cal.ClientComponent.getComponentDeploymentDescription(ClientComponent.java:784)

        at com.sap.tc.webdynpro.progmodel.components.ComponentUsage.createComponent(ComponentUsage.java:116)
    It is working properly in our development , and testing environment. Only production has this error. And one weird thing is that this particular error occurred only sometimes to some user. For example; I could not access to the application with this error yesterday but my friend can access. Today, I can access in the morning but my friend cannot. For another friend , Yesterday he can access by using IE but not by Firefox. But today Firefox is fine but not with IE. It seems crazy.
    For more information, in our J2EE engine for the production server, we have 3 server nodes (clusters). And we are not sure it is the source of the problem. Is there any solution , and any way to know from the application that we are on which server?
    We also go and check from the Content Administrator in Web Dynpro Console. Under our project name, in the list of Components, sometimes we can see AttachmentComp but sometimes not.
    Please help us as our project is about to go-live next week.
    Thanks,
    Yu

  • Get JSF objects in a Filter Class

    Hi! I have a problem with my JSF application. As the most of the web applications I have a login at the begining and I place a Listener - Filter classes for catching the session timeout to returning the user to the login page. All this works OK. The problem it´s to validate that the user only has 1 session open at the time, when the user begin session I change a flag into it's database row, and when the user logout the flags change again to false (both actions (login and logout) was fired by the user clicking it's respective buttons), this works fine, but I want to change the data flag in the database row with the timeout Filter classes after pass 1 minute. My Filter class it's like this:
        public void doFilter(ServletRequest request,ServletResponse response, FilterChain filterChain) throws IOException,ServletException {
            if ((request instanceof HttpServletRequest) && (response instanceof HttpServletResponse)) {
                HttpServletRequest httpServletRequest = (HttpServletRequest) request;
                HttpServletResponse httpServletResponse = (HttpServletResponse) response;
                if (!StringUtils.contains(httpServletRequest.getRequestURI(), "welcomeJSF.jsp")) {
                    if((httpServletRequest.getRequestedSessionId() != null) && !httpServletRequest.isRequestedSessionIdValid()){
                         /* 1 */
                           FacesContext context = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
                             User user = (User) context.getExternalContext().getSessionMap().get("simpleUser");
                             UserDAO conn = new UserDAO();
                             List users = conn.findByNumber(new Long(user.getNumber()));
                             persistence.User userDB = (persistence.User) users.get(0);
                             userDB.setUse(false);
                             Transaction tx = conn.getSession().beginTransaction();
                             conn.save(userDB);
                             tx.commit();
                             conn.getSession().close();
                             /* 2 */
                        String timeoutUrl = httpServletRequest.getContextPath()+ "/faces/" + "welcomeJSF.jsp";
                        System.out.println("Session is not invalid. Redirecting to login page. ");
                        httpServletResponse.sendRedirect(timeoutUrl);
                        return;
            filterChain.doFilter(request, response);
        }When I comment from 1 to 2 works fine, but if I want to get the context.getExternalContext().getSessionMap().get("simpleUser") i get this error:
