Get Intercharge Segment Values inside Orchestration (IS13)

Hi
Can anyone please let me know how to get the ISA and GS segments of X12 interchange inside biztalk orchestration.
The scenario is i have to insert into a log table the X12 files i sent to the client. I have to insert the ISA and GS segments into that log table, but these are generated at the (send pipelines) which are at send ports.
Is there any way to log the Interchange control number.

How to get a UDF value inside print event.

I'm designing an add-on that will print 3 labels based on different criteria when and Invoice or a Delivery ticket is print. Each label will go to a different printer since these are specifilly dedicated to each type of label/form.
My problem is that that I have 2 UDF in the header of the marketing documents (Y/N fields) that flag me when 2 of the labels needs to be printed. I have tried unsuccessfully to get the value from the UDF items in the form, I got several information like cardname, shipto address and total from the marketing document form, but no UDF can be access.
Below find copy of my routine (tPOTD is my UDF), this code will only work if there is only one instance of the form open, now is there's a way of knowing the instance number of a specific form?

First off, do you have the UDF form visible? If not, I'm not aware of a way to retrieve the UDF data without the DI-API.
Assuming you're printing with the form active, you can use the SBO_Application.Forms.ActiveForm.TypeCount value to obtain the "instance" of the form, I'd guess. I haven't tried it, but I assume it would work:
UDFForm = SBO_Application.Forms.GetFormByTypeAndCount(-133, SBO_Application.Forms.ActiveForm.TypeCount)
Then your field would be:

How to get zclass attribute's value inside "Execute_default" method

Hi all,
I am displaying a link in UD step under "Objects & Attachmnents".I am using zclass. I created a attribute in zclass and i am creating a instance (background task) before this UD step and i will be setting a attribute of the zclass inside this create instance method.
My problem is, if i click the link, this method "BI_OBJECT~EXECUTE_DEFAULT_METHOD" is getting executed but i am not able to get the attribute value inside this method, eventhough i am setting the attribute value before the UD step.
Pls let me know, how to get the attribute's value inside "Execute_default" method, as i need to process further using this attribute.
P.S: I tried with both static & instance attribute. I can achieve the same using ZBO but my client needs to use only class.

If you are concerned only about a couple of attributes, then you can manage with a separate copy of the data. But if the data is in bulk, better leave it to pl/sql side of validation.

Urgent..getting default & changed values in ALV editable....have ur point.s

But my requirement is to save all the default & changed values of the ALV column....

When ur doing the CHECK_CHANGED_DATA, u ll get the edited values inside this callback sub -routine only. so here u trap the values those are changed ( thats after editing).
Once the control goes back to the original program ( calling prog ) , u ll end up with ur old data ( before editing).
you ll have to handle that explictly in your code, or shift to OO alv grid like this -

SSHR - SIT Segment Values

I have defined a SIT structure with 2 segments "Type" and "Expenses", both are storing into SEGMENT1 AND SEGMENT10 respectively.
After the intiator submits the transaction from SSHR for approval, I would like to retrieve the values of "Type" and "Expenses" entered by the initiator. I checked the "HR_API_TRANSACTION_VALUES" against this transaction Item Key, there no values stored.
From which table we can get these segments values?

Balancing Segment Value assignment to Legal Entity using Account Setup Mgr

This is on r12.06
By mistake- I did not assign BSV at Legal Entity level, insteady I directly assigned at Ledger level. Now, I am getting following error when running "Accounting Program" standard program
The subledger journal entry contains lines with balancing segment values that are not assigned to any legal entity. Unassigned balancing segments cannot be used to balance a subledger journal entry with balancing segments already assigned to a legal entity. Either update the balancing segment value assignments for the ledger ADP/Claims Solutions Group or update the balancing segment values used on the subledger journal entry Upon research, It was discovered that that the Balancing segment is assigned only at ledger level and it is not assigned at Legal Entity level in account setup manager.
When I attempted to assign the BSV at LE level, it is not showing the BSV in list of values.
I even end dated BS at ledger level and tried again but still the concerned BSV is not showing up in LOV at Legal entity level.
Now I am completely stuck. Any idea what am I missing? Why, the new BSV is not showing up at LE level LOV when attempting to assign BSV at LE level?

Once a BSV is assigned to the ledger it does not appear in the LOV of BSV-LE assignment field. Pl see if you can delete the BSV from ledger assignment, then only you can re-assign to LE. In my opinion, it allows you to delete the BSV from ledger level if you have not already used it in transactions. In your case, I wonder if it will allow you to delete it. If not, you have to raise SR with Oracle support.

How to retrive KFF segment values in each row of VO?

I need to retrve Special Information Type values in HR screen.
There is a table based on the VO and on of the column is a flex (KFF) linked ot the same VO.
How can i retrieve the KFF segments values from each row of the table (or VO row).
The VO contains the ID_FLEX_NUM only.

You obtain a reference to your step as an PropertyObject.
Using this PropertyObject reference you can use the PropertObject.GetValString|GetValNumeric|GetValBoolean.

Unable to get the selection value of OAMessageChoiceBean

Hi,
From our 11i to R12 upgrade, in Customer Advance Search page, we are unable to get the proper handle for OAMessageChoiceBean (in extendedCO).
The code snippet for handling the bean is as follows:

String xxTest= PartyStatusFilter.getSelectionValue(vOAPageContext);
The value for above xxTest (in R12 env.) is coming as null. Whereas, the same code is working in 11i enviroment and the output of xxTest="A".
Hence, we are unable to get the selection value of the messagechoicebean in our R12 environment. Moreover, I've already looked into similar previous posts of this forum, also tried using getSelectionText(vOAPageContext) or getSelectedValue(), but it didn’t worked too.
Any pointers please?

You are right, this seemed un-intuitive to me too, but I finally understood how it's done.
The "value" of a node is actually the total amount of text that is not contained in any of the node's child nodes (if any). So a node with child nodes can still have text value.
To get the 'value' of an element node, you must therefore concatenate the values of all children of type "XmlValue::TEXT_NODE", of that node. Try it.
In your example, the <address> node has no child elements, my guess is that BDB XML stores the address string "176 Ganesan street, Janakinagar, alwarthirunagar" inside a child node of <address> node (of type XmlValue::TEXT_NODE) because you wrote the string on a separate line.

How to get the column index inside a dataTable

before I get staked, there are multiple threads handling familiar topics to the one I'm questioning about but none gives an anwer. If there is one, I'm propably to less skilled to see it.
So here is my Problem: I've build a web-interface to a time-recording system. The hours worked on a certain project are displayed in a dataTable component which is generated out of a mySQL Query. Each entry (column/row) contains a inputText component to display and edit the specific value.
Editing one of these inputText elements now fires a valueChangeEvent which reads the new value and stores it in the database. For that cause I need to know the row- and column-index of the inputText component that fired the event.
Using the getClientId method from the valueChangeEvent I get some Information which makes it possible to calculate the row/column index. A typical clientID looks like "form_table:mainTable:0:_id14". "form_table" is the ID of the form the dataTable is in. "mainTable" is the id of the dataTable component. "0" is the row the component is in. And finally "_id14" stands for the id randomly given to the inputText component by JSF.
My Problem is now, that though I can calculate the column out of the[i] "_id14", this calculation is hardcoded. So everytime I add a component in before the dataTable, the calculation needs to be adjusted in the code.
The Questions:
- How to force a sensefull id indicating a column-index for the inputText components inside the columns of a dataTable?
- Nicer since no workaround: How to get the column-index inside the dataTable on a natural way? (e.g. out of the valueChangeEvent the specific inputText component fires)
After some investigation here on the board and on the net I know multiple ways to get the row index, (Things like component-binding and so on) but I can't find a answer on how to get the column-index.

As you've noticed the table gives you the flexibility to move columns around. So if you move column 0 to column 1, why would you expect to still use 0 as the index? The table manages the reordering of columns for you to make sure the data being displayed in each table column comes from the correct column in the data model.
You can manage this yourself using one of the following methods (I forget which one):
table.convertColumnIndexToModel(int viewColumnIndex)
table.convertColumnIndexToView(int modelColumnIndex)
Or, you can get data from the data model directly:
table.getModel().getValueAt(row, 0);

Java null pointer exception while getting a segment DFF handle

my requirement is to make a field mandatory based upon a dff segment value (Y/N). i override PFR since segment is a poplist on the page (and poplists don't fire any event)
i searched in the "view source" of the page and found that segment id is ActFlexField0

i am able to print 1° comment line but not second. so i think it's something wrong getting the segment handle.
anyway i'm not able to reach your suggested if statement because execution stops before.
Infact, if i comment line :OAMessageTextInputBean mtib = (OAMessageTextInputBean)oaDFF.findChildRecursive("ActFlexField0");
page doesn't give error and saves data.

For both cases, the filename can be found on the FILE.ReceivedFileName Context Property. You can access this Property in a Pipeline Component or Orchestration and take any action you want, such as apply to a database.
The value is accessed by: MyReceivedMessage(FILE.ReceivedFileName)
