GET PARAMETER:   user parameter not consistant.

I've got a data element ( /SAPSLL/LGREG ) for which I have assigned a user parameter in my user's profile.  The parameter value assigned under "maintain user profile" is Parameter ID: /SAPSLL/LGREG,  Parameter value:  ZLOC.
The program I am running executes the command:
GET PARAMETER ID '/SAPSLL/LGREG' lv_lgreg.
In most cases it retrieves the value 'ZLOC' into lv_lgreg which is what I expect based on the user's parameter, however in some cases 'ACE ' is retrieved into lv_lgreg unexpectedly.
'ACE ' is a value that exists in the value table for the data domain /SAPSLL/LGREG ( table /SAPSLL/T606G ).
Does anyone know why in some situations the User Profile Parameter would not be retrieved by the GET PARAMETER ID statement, and instead one of the values from the data domain's value table would retrieve instead?

Yes I tried putting a breakpoint on SET PARAMETER, but that statement is not encountered in the program prior to the GET PARAMETER statement.  I had assumed that in a situation like this the user's paramater should be retrieved, but it seems that instead it is somehow retrieving from the Values Table.  Could it be that it picks up the last value from some other program?  This only seems to happen ocasionally.

  • Adobe Reader X user interface not consistent

    Hi,
I am using Adobe Reader X (v10.1.1), and have noticed that the user interface varies depending on whether Adobe Reader opens a file standalone or from within a web browser like IE.
I prefer the interface shown from within a web browser (like IE), because it includes the Search Binoculars icon on the left-side.  These Search Binoculars are so much more user friendly than Adobe Reader's default search box.
So, as a tip, make the UI consistent, and display the Search Binoculars by default.
NB: I know there is also an Advanced Search tool (which is a very handy tool in itself), however my comments do not concern this tool at all.

    Any thoughts?.

  • Does this help your "user did not respond" problem?

    Here’s what was going on.
If I call a buddy #1 > I get the “user did not respond”.
If I call buddy #2 > I get “user did not respond”.
However, If I call buddy #3 it works right away, no problems what so ever.
This was a constant problem, the same result over and over again when attempting to connect.
Three out of the four of us have something in common
So, how come when I call buddy #1 and buddy #2 does iChat displays “user did not respond” ? Thinking about it, we all have multiple Macs (except buddy number 3) on a network and the same router. So it appears that when I try to call someone with more than one Mac on the network I get the error.
Again, all three of us had something else in common we were all using a DMZ service on the router to direct internet traffic to a Mac which was not running iChat (ie a server).
    Time to experiment
Buddy #1 disabled DMZ then I called him.. nothing but the “user did not respond” message. I disabled DMZ (now both off us have DMZ off) I called him again (after restarting iChat) and it worked.
We both restarted iChat, Macs, Routers multiple times and it still worked 8 out of 10 times. Now, this is a huge improvement on failing to connect every-time. I did however remember reading somewhere about changing the default port number.
    More Settings
The default port number iChat uses also stops my video and audio from working but this is easily fixed.
Open iChat and make yourself off line then navigate to:
iChat > Preferences > Accounts > Server Settings.
Change the default port to 443.
Close the window and make yourself available
iChat now connects to video and audio calls every single time.
So, for us it looks like disabling DMZ and changing the port number worked perfectly.
    Instructions.
    1. Quit iChat
    2. Log into your router (enter the routers address in the address bar of your internet browser)
    3. Look for a DMZ setting, possibly listed within the WAN SetUp section.
    4. Disable DMZ
    5. You may need to restart your router
    6. Configure iChat's defualt port number (shown avbove)
    7. Make your-self 'Available' on iChat
    8. Start a video chat.
I would highly recommend that you pass this information on to your online buddies you wish to video or audio chat with. This configuration has to be set on both the caller's and and receiving buddies computer

    Hi Jan,
    Some notes.
The Certain Buddy problem is almost certainly down to NAT issues.
DMZ is an extreme form of Port Forwarding and is therefore a NATted service on most devices.
Netgears are know to kave this problem with iChat even with the same model with the same firmware.
It means the problem continues in Port Forwarding, Port Triggering and DMZ.
UPnP (Universal Plug n Play) is not a NAT service so will get around this.
However there seems to be somthing quirky with Netgear's implemintation of this that needs it started up at least twice to work properly.
The need to change the port from 5190 to 443 normally occures on those devices and firmware that Port Forwards AND list protocols to open the ports which then lists port 5190 twice.
Changing the port in iChat and then disabling the Port forward on port 5190 TCP also should get around this problem.

  • User did not respond (not another one!!!)

Hello, I recently purched a Macbook Pro and I can't get the video chat feature in iChat to work. I have tried all the tutorials, everything to try and get this **** thing to work.
I have turned my firewall off, changed the port that AIM uses, and just about everthing else that has been recomended. I am cureently using a Linksys WRT54GX2, and I havent changed a think on there. I am trying to connect to a person over AIM. He has a Macbook and a Airport Extreme. We are both getting the "user did not respond" error when we try to connect to each other.

    Hi Masterchief,
Welcome To The Apple Discussion Pages.
I understand the WRT45GX2 is a MIMO device.
There is a problem with these and iChat.

  • Chat w/ PC "User did not respond" error

When I try to do a video chat with a PC user (AIM), I am always getting a "user did not respond" error, or the error message that "I declined the invitation"
I have no problem doing text/audio/video chat with another iChat user.
Any ideas why I cannot do video chats with the pc user?

    Hi Kathy:
Here's a great reference tool that's well put together that may help you sort out your issues when trying to connect with a windows user: http://www.mvldesign.com/videoconferencetutorial.html

  • Yet Another "User Did not respond" problem

After reading through the many discussions about this problem, I didn't find anyone that is in my exact same boat, so I need to ask.
I, like others, am having the "USER did not respond" problem. However I used to connect to my girlfriend on her iBook with no problems from my iMac. Recently my parents got a new iMac and I couldn't connect to them and now I can 't connect to my girlfriend either! Keep getting the "USER did not respond" error every time! The only thing that has changed since the last time I successfully video chatted with my girlfriend was a the OS X update....
Oh yeah, here's where its gets weirder: I can connect to the Apple Test accounts with no problem.
This is really ******* me off! Please help.

Have you tried connecting to a known user that has no issues? That will help determine where the problems lies.
You can find willing testers listed here: http://www.ralphjohnsuk.dsl.pipex.com/ContactTesters.html
Also, posting more about your set-up will also help (Mac model, Cable/DSL modem type, router, etc)
Lastly, a fresh restart may help, power down all of your components, including your cable/dsl modem/router and start them up in this order: Cable/Dsl Modem (Wait a min or two) router, then your macs.

  • IChat AV (user) has not responded

I have been reading as much info on these discussion boards about the setting up for AV iChat.
one of my questions is about the setting of the rules for the firewall/router.
I have set up rules to always allow TCP 5060 to 5190. UDP 5060 to 5678. TCP/UDP 16384 to 16403.(the last because it is unclear whether that range is TCP or UDP)
since I have to set up incoming and outgoing services, what do I set the LAN server incoming services to: the router address? or the computer I am trying to AV from?
can't seem to figure that out.
right now I have it set for the computer address I am trying to chat from.
of course, the auto test sites are working flawlessly, but when I try to connect to a real person, I always get the (user) did not respond.
so I don't know if the problem is on my end or someone elses.
now, as an aside, I did not have to change anything on my firewall to run Skype, and it ran just fine. even with the default settings to block everything.
I just really don't understand this managing of ports: should I have had to open ports for internet use? and Skype?
    any help would be appreciated.
I have run out of active brain cells.
    iMac G5 rev A   Mac OS X (10.4.4)   netgear Fr114P firewall v1.5_09

    Hi Remigijus,
You have the ports slightly wrong
    Read 7th Sept
Read What and why for each port
IF you are setting incoming services in a router or modem they should point to your Computer.
If you have a modem that says it needs you to state the Public IP (data from) the this should be set to 0.0.0.0 *** this stands for Anyone
If the modem has UPnP then use that as it alows for multiple computers and will not be bothered if you are still using DHCP to your computer.
If it does not then you would be advised to make your computer have a Static IP to the modem so that the Port Forwarding always points to your computer. With DHCP this can change each time you turn off your computer. IF you continue to use DHCP and Port Forwarding you will need to check your computer stays at the same IP that the Port Forwarding is pointing to.
Yes you will need to open the ports becuase ichat is like an Internet able game and uses ports that are above the default port of 1024 which is the top end of the ports normally open in a modem or Router.
I am not sure what ports Skype uses and there does not appare to be anything on their site that I could spot easily which means it probably uses ports below 1024. (and don't need setting).
    EDIT Found it http://www.skype.com/help/faq/technical.html
It says port 80 and 443 or All UDP ports above 1024 (1024-66563)

  • Urgent - parameter values are not getting posted

    Hi
I have a url in the wf notification that directs the user to the oaf page, the parameters are being sent as url parameters. I have no problem in accessing in the processRequest method of first page. But When I try to read the same in processFormRequest method of trainCO, I am not getting values. Any idea why?
I tried with pageContext.putParameter() method in processRequest even the parameter value is not avaialable in processFormRequest. How to pass the parameter value from processRequest to processFormRequest?

If the parameters are url parameters then they will be available in the processFormRequest also. If they were added using pageContext.putParameter then it will not be available in the processFormRequest

I fixed the problem.. but it was very, very strange. I had a very long section for credits and set the line spacing to 1.0.. for some reason this caused it. I removed it, and it worked fine. I put it back, and I couldn't preview or play the video.
I don't know why that could cause that big of a problem, but it did..
