Get PERNR in Dynpro on ABAP

Hi,
I`am developing a custom service for ESS on ABAP Dynpro.
How can I get current employee PERNR inside of my ABAP implementation?
The only way I know getting PERNR from 0105 i.t. using current sy-uname, but I dont like this solution.
Is where any other way of getting current employee PERNR?

Hi Evgeny,
It's probably best to post these types of questions in the HR/ABAP forums in the future. In any case, the only link between the employee record and the user record is IT 0105 so I'm afraid you don't have much choice there. If you don't want to access the employee record using SQL, I believe there is a function module called something like BAPI_EMPLOYEE_GET_DETAILS (check in SE37).

    How do I suppress the GET PERNR event? I have a report where I do a table dump of T710 or output PA0008 based upon TAB selection. However, I want to prevent performance problem when I just want to dump T710 table. The GET PERNR event seems to output regardless of what TAB is selected. Here is a sample code:
    START-OF-SELECTION.

    This doesn't work because I can't encapsulate the "GET PERNR" in an IF statement of in the FORM statement. Any idea how to ONLY activate the GET PERNR event when I have a particular tab selected?

    Some clarification on the meaning of GET might help you out in the future.  It is a commonly misunderstood ABAP statement.  GET looks like a verb, sort of like MOVE, but it is really the name of an SAP event, just like other events like AT SELECTION-SCREEN and START-OF-SELECTION.
    Whenever I teach new ABAPers about GET, I tell them to think of this as a noun rather than a verb.  So instead of thinking GET, think of WHEN.
    So GET PERNR is really an event called WHEN PERNR and means that when the LDB has a PERNR row available, invoke the code you have attached to event GET PERNR.  Trying to bury the statement GET PERNR inside other executable ABAP statements like IF and FORM is not supported because your code does not decide when to do this, it is decided by the LDB.  In fact if you code the following:
    IF condition.
      GET PERNR.
    ENDIF.
    What the compiler sees is an event called GET PERNR.  The start of an event, ends the previous event.  If you never specified an event then the default event is START-OF-SELECTION.
    So the previous event is ended, but we have an IF without an ENDIF.  If the compiler could get past that error, the next error would be an ENDIF without an IF.
    As an aside, if you have ever wondered where the ABAP events START-OF-SELECTION and END-OF-SELECTION got their names, START-OF-SELECTION represents the start of selection by the LDB before any data is returned to your program.  Likewise, END-OF-SELECTION represents the fact that the LDB has finished returning data to your program.

    I had developed a new Web Dynpro for ABAP (WD4A) component for updating a custom Infotype. This application is meant for the manager to maintain some specific data through portal for his employees in the team.
    WD4A application is built based on the employee number it receives from the portal.
         How could I get PERNR from employee search(teamviewer) iView in to my WD4A component?
    In portal I had developed a test page by copying the standard page from MSS com.sap.pct.erp.mss.general_information, and added my WD4A application through an iView into this page.
    Then I hided all the other iVews in the page except (1) employee search and (2)my WD4A iVew. On the preview everything appears fine.
    During the preview of this page it triggers the WDDOINIT of WD4A component main view and then the WDDOMODIFYVIEW. When I select an employee from the employee search, then it triggers only WDDOMODIFYVIEW in the WD4A application and not the WDDOINIT anymore.
    In my  WDDOMODIFYVIEW I had inserted the following code:

    This is not functioning form me. The action is not getting trigged with the code in WDDOMODIFYVIEW.

    Most of the threads are answered but incomplete. In some threads people shared document personally which had been helpful.
    I am stuck with this scenario of handling the employee number from employee search iView. Helpful suggestions will be rewarded for sure.

    Do i understand you correctly that you are not getting the portal event ?
    This can be several reasons ?
    Both portal system and WDA server has to be in same domain and same proptocol to communicate with Portal event.
    Please check in that direction and search posts on this topic.

  • ABAP HR : Restriction of data after GET PERNR

    Hi Folks,
    I am using LDP PNP and using get statement. I am using multiple Infotypes. So all the Pxxxx are getting field with each GET PERNR. I have to extract last record which I am getting using RP_PROVIDE_FROM_LAST.
    Can I avoid getting all the data of a PERNR after GET PERNR or is there any other way to get only the latest record.

    In my opinion i can infer your questions as ..
    suppose p0000 has 3 records for pernr 5125.
    Get PERNR.
    rpprovidefrom last -> triggers last date ..
    Here usage of rp provide allows u to pick the latest entry . Now you are asking the loading of p0000 should happen only with 1 record( instead of 3 ) .
    Get PERNR.
    --> here  u need to see p0000 with 1 entry only ..
    **rpprovide*from last -> triggers last date ..
    May be a check from initialization to restrict based on date entry within the interval .. and if in that interval there are two records i suppose it cannot pick one.. thats my opinion .. lets see if someone has a better solution .

    I have a question concerning the Office Control UI-Eelement in Web Dynpro for ABAP:
    How can I import spreadsheet data from the Office Control into  a internal-table?
    I have an Excel-sheet (without any data) which is shown initially in the Office Control. First the empty Excel-Sheet will be loaded and in the second step data from an alvxml-transformation will be loaded into the Excel-sheet with the method 'activatexmlsource'. This works so far. When I change the loaded data in the Office Control and save it it will be stored as XLS-File. The problem is that I'm not able to use existing Upload-FM because every function module I tried uses GUI-functions and WebDynpro has no GUI-functionality. I always get the error that data from clipboard cannot be imported.
    So now the question is:
    How can I import changed data from the Office control into a internal-table staying in Web Dynpro application?
    Please give some advice, if you have some useful code or ideas.

    Once you save to desktop again you have made some changes to that file, this file you want to upload it right.
    Then in that case you need to use the FILEUPLOAD UI element right.

    I think it that way. You are trying to compare and analyse old (don't say bad) programming school with a new (OO one) approach. Although, I am OO enthusiast and in any case I will try to convice you that OO aproach is better than classical one, you should know what SE30 was designed for. If you want to stress on OO design, use the one you mentioned, otherwise stick what SAP recommmends (please note, that I am "middle" school pupil, so I tried to learn all courses with my own experience and feelings from OO).
    IMHO, OO aproach is a way of thinking, not something we can messure in sec. and compare to old school teaching. Some of your report should be desinged in classical way, some should be pure OO. Which one you choose, is up to you, your conclusions, your percives of ABAP language. For me OO was not injected in ABAP enough, to affect developers or to convince them using it in any case w/o doubts you have.

    Thats not passible. Imagine having a select statement, there is no way of getting the number of resulting rows ahead the statement. you have tp process the select statement twice, first to get the amount, and then to ge tthe rows. in the first step you can optimize the select with count(*), but nevertheless, it is executed twice. So you have to execute the logical database in advance, there are funcion modules to do that. For performance reasons, thats not a good choice.
    On the other hand, when the get event is triggered and your program is getting the first rowm most work by the database is done and you're only fetching row by row.

    As per your requirement, to get done your work you need to create two Adobe Forms , one is for Offline Interactive Form and other is Online Interactive Form.
    In offline Interactive you design your form and define the Layout type as zci layout and Abap Dictionary Based interface. And by executing the form you can save the form to your desktop.
    Now in online Interactive Form you create the context similar to the one which has been created in the Offline Interactive Form. Now in one view you define the file upload functionality and in other view you define the adobe interactive form, for this the interface is automatically as it asks for the context and its of type XML based interface, also do maintain the context variable something like "PDFDATASTRING" with type XSTRING in the Component Controller and now in adobe view you give the property pdfstring as "PDFDATASTRING" and dont forget to provide the navigation of these two view, and set the File Upload View as default view.
    The above functionality can help you in some way or the other.

    I am interested in getting ideas on the best way to achieve the following functionality in Web Dynpro for ABAP:
    1) A text-editor where some basic formatting is possible (Italic, Bold, etc.) for the user to enter formatted text.
    2) Save this text in some format to the dictionary maintaining the text formatting.
    3) This saved text should appear on a PDF printview from the WebDynpro. Of course the formatting should appear on the screen as it was created with the text-editor.

    I have a question concerning the Office Control UI-Eelement in Web Dynpro for ABAP:
    How can I import spreadsheet data from the Office Control in a SAP-table?
    I have an Excel-sheet (without any data) which is shown initially in the Office Control. First the empty Excel-Sheet will be loaded and in the second step data from an alvxml-transformation will be loaded into the Excel-sheet with the method 'activatexmlsource'. This works so far. When I change the loaded data in the Office Control and save it it will be stored as XLS-File. The problem is that I'm not able to use existing Upload-FM because every function module I tried uses GUI-functions and WebDynpro has no GUI-functionality. I always get the error that data from clipboard cannot be imported.
    So now the question is:
    How can I import changed data from the Office control into a SAP-table staying in Web Dynpro application?
    Please give some advice, if you have some useful code or ideas.

    Hi,
    Once you save to desktop again you have made some changes to that file, this file you want to upload it right.
    Then in that case you need to use the FILEUPLOAD UI element right.

    to your first question.
    The MaxDB database has a feature which can
    increase the database automatically.
    This ( auto_extend ) is turned on for the SDN Preview
    installation.
    That means the database should extend a further datavolume
    automatically when the filling level gets over 90%.
    In your case the database already added two more datavolumes. The installation only creates one.

    I have created a program in HR-ABAP using ldb pnp and I have used the screen 900 [for get payroll]  Now for few employees when I use GET pernr, its nt giving ne results. as in the the program goes to end of selection. Now wen i change the screen to normal [ blank or 000], the get pernr for same employees gives me results. Can someone please explain the reason for above?

    Check whether the payroll run has taken place for the input employee numbers you are giving.
    You can check in the Tcode PC_PAYRESULT.
