Get Work Repository Schema via odiref

Hi all,
Is it possible to get the name of the work repository schema (not the Work schema) using a call to one of the substitution APIs?

hmmmm , not sure if its possible to return it - most probably it is but in the meantime you can always import the schema into Topolology and reference it as you would any other.
The other way would be to use a variable that refreshes against your master repos to grab the name.

Hi, Your left with trying to track the schema deletion at the database level im afraid, without a Master Repos you dont have an ODI Environment so there is nowhere to look.
If someone 'Detached' a work schema - you might be able to track this from a Master repos but if as you say they have been deleted / dropped then I might check th DB alert log but I dont think it will be registered unless you have Auditing enabled in the DB.
Last solution would be to use something like logminer to read the DDL from the database logs, see if you can spot the drop that way.

ODI 11g - Work Repository Creation via Script

Hi!
Do you have any suggestions how to create work repositories via script?
My idea is to create all database objects in the schema for the new work repository and insert the repository specific information into the tables
- SNP_REM_REP (master repository)
- SNP_CONNECT (master reppository)
- SNP_LOC_REPW (work repository)
Am i missing something?

Why do you want to do it this way ?
I dont think your idea is going to work as there are 87 other tables (maybe not all of them) in Work Rep that need to be populated. And only the Work repository creation menu in the Topology would do it for you. There are relationship among those tables that need to be satisfied.
What version are you on ? In 11g you can write Java code to do the things I mentioned above. Whatever you can click and do in 10g can be done using Java programming in 11g.

Work repository not bound to Master Repository

Hi All,
I have created a schema with username ODIW and password ODIW and created a work repository named WORKREP1 in the ODI topology. Now when i am logging in to the client through the newly created WORK repository no error is shown and i am able to login. But when i am starting the managed server an error throws 'oracle.odi.core.config.RepositoriesNotBoundException: Repositories not bound'.(during the installation of ODI 11.1.1.3.0, it had prompted for a work repository name and i had given ODI_WORK _REP but i have now forgotten the password...thats why i had to create another work repository schema)....will it hamper while executing scenario.
In the odparams.sh file the parameter ODI_SECU_WORK_REP=ODI_WORK_REP but i want to change to WORKREP1(Is it possible?)
I have kept the master repository schema same
Please help on this

Hi Gatha,
Yes thats correct.In the odiparams.sh file my work repository name shown is ODI_WORK_REP
I think the name should be changed to WORKREP1
Please mention the command for encrypting the password in the odiparams.sh file
Another query is that why i am not able to login to the old work repository

Repository hangs while creating repository schema..

Hi All,
When i try to create the repository schema from console, the repository hangs and it is not creating schema too.
the repository comes to normal only when i restart the server.
Im using MDM 5.5 SP06 Patch 4
Please help to solve this issue.

below is the code,

               repositorySchema = getRepositorySchemaCommand.getRepositorySchema();
In general i notcied there is some performance issue with this getRepositorySchema() method,try avoid using it as it consumed almost 2 sec.

DBA privilegs to ODI repository schemas and workschemas

We are using oracle 11gr2 data base for our integration(Table to Table Transformation).Could you people suggest me what are DB privileges and rights required for each schema.
1)Master Repository schema-What are privileges this schema should have?
2)Work Repository schema-What are privileges this schema should have?
3)Connecting source schema-What are privileges this schema should have to connect to master and work repos schema?

Why you want to connect to master and work repo from source schema ? I am not sure of your question .

for 4,5,6 : Normal connect, resource, create table , create view , create privilege etc privilege should be enough .

As of now there is no such API in ODI but there is other API's which is used to retrieve schema/dataserver details etc.

I can't get onto the internet via wi-fi either (don't have a 3G card fitted). All other functions seem to be working OK including charging. Not had this problem before, but I recently upgraded software to 5.1.1 so is there a bug in there somewhere?

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

make sure you have selected right option under 'select component'.
If you want only OIM.
click on (+) sign of Identity Management and then tick the Oracle Identity Manager option.

Getting Error Out Of Memory while importing the work repository in ODI 10g

I exported the work repository from topology of ODI 10g of one DB and tried importing it in the another ODI 10g topology of another DB.While importing i got the error 'Out of Memory' .
Can somebody suggest me ,how to solve the heap size out of memory issue while importing in ODI 10g.

Error while configuring work repository details in topology Manager

Hi,
Could anyone pls advice, is it possible creating more than one Master repository connection for the same instance.
When i try to do so, am getting the below error while configuring the work repository details in topology manager.
“A work repository already exists for this connection.
Enter the repository password to declare it in your Master Repository”
I tried with both the new master and work repository password. But no luck.
Previous Master & work details:
Master: PCS_MASTER
Work:PCS_WORKREP
New Details
Master: PCS_MASTER_INT
Work:PCS_WORKREP_INT
Instance: PCBID
Am trying to create new master repository for PCS_MASTER_INT.

In the same oracle schema you can have only 1 master and 1 work repository. Usually they take 2 schema (1 for each).
If you need 2 master repository you have to use 2 different jdbc path. I'm using a db with several master / work, each repo has got its schema..

SRM MDM 3.0 BMECAT Repository Schema

Hello at all,
I have currently run the SRM-MDM 3.0 with the standard respository delivered as archive on the install CD. I still have created some data with the data manager and it runs all very well.
Now I want to import a catalog based on BMECat 1.2 standard. I Have the complex catalog data XML from the vendor Bechtle and the images folder for the articles.
When running the Import Manager there are many fields and tables in the source xml that do not excist in the destination hierachy (repository).
My question is how do I create a repository based on the BMECat 1.2 standard to import the vendor catalog xml ?
What I still tryed was. Creating a new repository. It's empty except of the standard table like Admin, Images, Products etc.
Than go to Transport -> Import Repository Schema -> choose the vendor XML
That doesn' work. I get the Error Message: "There are problems with the transport (XML) which prevent it from being processed"
I have learned that an XML schema data is described with the ending .xsd but when I try to import the databrowser looks for .xml endings.
Could someone please advice what's I have done wrong?

Hi Rico,
I am not aware of BMEcat standard but in MDM terms you can take the backup of repository in two forms:
1. Archive/UnArchive -> If you want to move the repository from one MDM server to another i.e. from dev to QA then you can Archive the repository which creates the .a2a file and place the file in the Archives folder of MDM Server installation directory which can then be copied and moved to Archives folder of target MDM server and you can UnArchive it on that MDM server.
Archive = Repository Schema + Data
2. Export / Import Repository Schema -> With this method you can export the schema of the repository and create the new repository on some other MDM Server using Create Repository from Schema command. When you perform the export repository schema command, it will ask for the file name and path. You can then copy this schema file and place in the file system of another server.
Export / Import Repository schema = Repository Schema only

How to change work repository internal ID

Is it possible to change the ID of existing work repository. Or a new work repository has to be created to get a new different ID.

About Master repo : - between 2 env. you must have exact ID and version of all master repo objects.
About work rep : When you create a new repository via TOPOLOGY you can set your own ID (ex :7).
->assume you have an old version of rep ID=5.
->assume you ll create a new one (yours) ID=7
Then you can import :
- with insert method to put old MODEL you want to keep some dev (MODEL, version will end with...5)
- with duplicate metod if not : to use a old MODEL version but update the (version will end with ...7)
Therefore, it's possible to :
- to push (update) devlpt from old w repo (5) to be updated from the old to the new one (cause the version is ...5) by INSERT_UPDATE
- to push (update) devlpt from new w repo (7) to be updated from the old to the old one (cause the version is ...7) by INSERT_UPDATE
- to maintain a MODEL change form one Master and impact to the other
- NOT to Merge one change on a model and another change on the same model (other work repo)

Migrating a work repository loses the LKM selection on all interfaces

Hi,
I have a number of projects that I have just moved from one development environment to another. I've actually carried it out twice now and had the same error each time.
I export the work repository from my working development environment, then after setting up all the connections/schemas in the new environment, I import the work repository through designer.
Everything seems to import fine, all my models are there, all my projects are there, but
1. The models no longer have the Journalising Knowledge module selected and I have to reselect it before starting any journals.
2. All the interfaces have lost the selection of the LKM in the flow tab. I have to open each interface and select the LKM I want and then rebuild all my scenarios.
Has anyone seen this problem? Any light you can shed?
I had a search and haven't seen anything similar.

It is quite a hassle to fix up every interface & then regenerate scenario's after importing a repository.
