Getting a border around a tool tip

I've been trying to get a border around a tooltip. I've tried
setting the styles in a css as well as a programatic borderskin.
Setting the borderStyle, borderColor etc. in css makes the
background of the tooltip invisible making just the text part
visible. I must be missing something.
Anyone done this or know how to achieve this?

I'm getting the same problem. Every time I try to specify a
border around a tooltip the entire background disappears.
Can anyone provide some answers? I've poked around the forums
and looked at the documentation and I can see no information that
explains why this should happen. Is this a bug?

In the context create an attribute of type string .
Create the attribute in the node which you bind for table.
In the layout .
1.create a Table UI element.
2 create binding for UI element.
3Right click on the Table UI and select insert table column.
4.once the table column is inserted right click on table column and select insert cell editor.
5.create the cell editor of the type image.
6.Bind the source property of the image to the attribute in the node which you have created.
so depending on what image(type of icon) needs to be displayed set the attibute accordingly.

How does one get a border around a cell?

As a very new newby and having downloaded 'Numbers' on my new iMac I can not, for the life me, get any border in (around) a cell. When clicking on 'borders', the indication is that the border is inserted but moving on, no border was inserted. I am aware of 'Allow Borders' in Table drop down menu.Please help as I need borders in my spreadsheets.

How to get a border around several components in GridBagLayout

I have several buttons in a 16 x 12 matrix using GridBagLayout manager
Now I want to have a border around buttons 1/1 to 6/6 and another border around 1/7 to 8/6
and another border around 1/9 to 16/6. How can I do this ?

I usually create JPanels for each group, with their own LayoutManager. Adding a [ border to a JPanel is fairly staight forward|http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/components/border.html] . To put thing together, I add instances of those JPanels to a top level JPanel in some frame or window.

Want a border around header in spreadsheet

I am totally frustrated. Need to get a border around the title of my spreadsheet. Title has been entered as a header. No matter what I do (and I am totally embarrassed to say I have been at this for hours now!) I cannot get a border around that header. I can put all kinds of borders around any cell in the spreadsheet. . . .which I don't want. . . .but not around that header.

It ain't pretty, but it'll get you there...
In your spreadsheet document, click on the toolbox to show tools.
Choose the text tool and drag out a text frame. Insert your intended header text. Set the desired font and other text attributes. Center-justify your text (and pad it with a leading and trailing carriage return, if you need more height -- increase or decrease the text size associated with the leading and trailing carriage returns for vertical height/centering). Click outside the text frame, choose the arrow tool, select your frame (you should see its handles) -- adjust the frame to the desired width. Activate the "Pen Formatting" button, then choose the color you desire for your border from the color palette. Set the desired line weight for your border. Now Copy the frame to the clipboard. Position your cursor in the header area and paste. Bob's your uncle.

Unwanted border around swf file in IE

Can anyone tell me why I am getting a border around my swf
file with it is imbedded on a Html page and displayed in Internet
Explorer on a PC?
The swf acts as a link, (pointer becomes a finger), and when
you click once in the swf area, the border disappears and the swf
file becomes active and all other links are working .

I use Golive CS and Flash MX.
It looks like this is an IE issue. Do you know of a

I've noticed, not just in this thread but all the other "10
billion threads about this," that every single one of the fixes for
this problem are oriented towards webpage developers -- not for the
internet user. Forgive me if these forums (unbeknownst to me) are
actually dedicated solely to web developers, but I'd still like to
find a solution somewhere for this problem.
An example of the problem I'm facing. The average Joe (such
as myself) is browsing around webpages (including, for example, the
webpage for my online homework) that haven't implemented a fix for
this problem .... Thus, for every ActiveX control, forcing me to
click it first before being able to use it. Just seeing this once
isn't a big deal, but when it comes down to doing a slew of
frustrating homework problems, and being forced to do an extra
click at least once for every single problem ... that just becomes
one extra irritant. And it's a problem on a lot of other webpages
too.
I obviously can't use the "fixes" provided in these topics,
because they're
coding fixes; I can't very well go in and alter commercial
webpages. Of course, I could go and demand the Tech Support guys
for
every webpage I visit to adjust their websites and make
accomodations for this problem. But that seems like a dumb choice,
especially if there's a solution of some sort. Maybe a downloadable
update, or an option in Internet Explorer's settings. Is there
anything out there for the
user to fix this problem? Or am I SOL? Perhaps I just need
to "suck it up."

Tool Tip / GUI-script battle

I've got a slider that invokes a handler that performs some AppleScript GUI scripting ( ... unfortunate, yes, but there's no other way.)
The slider has a Tool Tip.
If I click and drag outside of the slider's mouseDown region, no problem. The GUI stuff works as expected.
If I drag inside the slider's mouseDown region, the ToolTip appears at it designated time, as if I were hovering. This causes a NSReceiverEvaluationScriptError: 4 (1) error. Certainly makes sense that I'd get an error when the Tool Tip comes to the front. But I'm confused as to why it appears. None of my non-GUI related sliders have this problem.
Suggestions?
Here are a few other Tool Tip questions:
1) Can I increase or decrease the display length for all tool tips?
2) Is it possible to keep tool tips visible indefinitely while the user hovers the mouse over the object, closing on mouseLeave?
3) Can I toggle all Tool Tips to enabled or disabled?

Just noticed: on another computer (a powerBook) I get the NSReceiver error at any click or drag. Cleaned all targets and got the same result.
I set a one second delay to make sure the GUI window gets time to come to the front but to no avail. There's a error at every click or drag.

Am creating web pages in iweb and importing photos from iphoto. Can anyone tell me how to get rid of the white border around my photos (image frame)? Welcome to the Apple Discussions. The link to the site is broken. There is a fix for some of the strange goings on since the MobileMe conversion. See Wyodor's post in this thread: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1605665&tstart=0. After applying the fix to iWeb I found I might have to republish a second time, occasionally a third and make sure I cleared my browser's cache.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

How to get rid of the black border around the artboard

Hopefully my last question for tonight.
I need to get rid of the black border around the artboard. The two images show my drawing lined up with the art board and then inside the artboard. The dark gray is not the artboard.
As you see, the artboard has a black border. I need to get rid of it. It shows up in my project when my color key is green. The black won't go to transparent.
So how-to get rid of the border? Thanks

Can't get rid of white border around image

I created a rounded corner in photoshop for my table. I
created a cell in the bottom left corner of the table and placed
the gif. There is a thin whit border around the outer edge of the
gif, so it doesn't look genuinely rounded. Can anyone tell me how

Because the table containing the GIF has a border. In your
styleA.css
stylesheet, the rule:
.border {
border: 1px solid #E5E5E5;
adds a border to the table. Delete the rule. Of course - that
may affect
other things that use the .border class. Or - delete the
class from the
table tag.

How can i get tool tips to show on slideshow thumbnails?

How can i get tool tips to show on slideshow thumbnails? I used the widget "blank" composition for a slideshow then i placed the tooltips widget composition over them and made them transparent, but that prevents a user from clicking on the thumbnails... Any ideas?

I also want to note, i tried putting in tool tips as well as alt. text but only the first thumbnail is included in the HTML...I went through the code and it all my text is missing. I have to manually edit the html in edge reflow or dreamweaver. Muse should fix this - and i know "this is in the wrong section" and not in bugs and new ideas but it relates to my first post...

Tool Tip style not getting affected

I have included in my source file.But its not getting affected in the list box tool tip.

When writing HTML/CSS, how do I get ride of the unwanted border around rollovers?

This only happens when I view my website with the Firefox browser. It doesn't show in Safari etc...
I have a series of buttons using javascript rollover effect. Why is there an obnoxious border around them. How can I get rid of the border. Through CSS? HTML?
