Getting a count of members in a set

Hello,
I'm using Excel to connect to an OLAP cube and building a report to show actual hours charged to a project. I need to create a measure now to perform some calculation on the actual hours for which I need to get the number of days that the user is filtering
on. The date range is added as a slicer. Is there a way to do this? I've tried
Count(Existing [Work Item].[System_CreatedDate].members)
But this returns all created dates in the entire data set. I only need a count of the ones the user has filtered on. Right now it should return 66 or so since I've set it to 1/1/2014 to 3/7/2014 but I'm getting back 503 which is how many members there are
in total in the OLAP cube not taking into account any filters I have set.
My apologies for the basic question and the inadequate explanation of what I'm trying to get to. I have very limited experience with MDX and measures / members. I hope the question is clear enough.

I tried creating a logical column using Level0 key and Count Distinct aggregation function in my dimension table. But when I use this column in the report, it gives navigation space error.
Any ideas/thoughts on how to achieve this?

Aggregations always work on columns in a logical fact table and never on a logical dimension
- Create a logical fact table based on the same physical table
- Create a logical join between the newly created fact table and the dimension table whose levels we want to count
- Create the Count Distinct columns, one each based on the level key columns
- Expose the columns to the presentation
- Deploy the rpd and it works like a charm

How to get Distinct Count of Products across two dimensions

I have two dimensions, Item and Presentations. I need to get distinct count of products for IMD_Id + Merc_Pres_Id. IMD_Id is the lowest member in Item and Merc_Pres_Id is lowest in Presentation. My MDX query is given below but when I apply filters to

Requirements are as follows:
1. Distinct Count should not include products where Proj Demand is 0, when I am using Filter function to remove products with 0 demand, query is really slow and execution time goes up from 35- 40 secs to 8-9 Minutes.
2. When we apply filter (parameters) Distinct Count should be in the context of filters( which are mentioned in the select statement like Style, Demand Center and Merch Group). Currently after applying filters count does not change.

How to get the count of items(folders or documents) in a SharePoint document library and for a folder in any SharePoint document library?

I need to get a count of documents and folders in a selected document library(the item for EventRecievers for event deleting) and the count of documents in a selected folder(the item for EventRecievers for event deleting) to determine whether the item(document

Pages v5 does not provide a user assignable word count variable. With some AppleScript, and a paste operation from the clipboard, you can have locale punctuated word count in this format: 7,803 — anywhere in your document. The following AppleScript works with Pages '09 v4.3 through Pages v5.5.2 on Yosemite.
I would suggest that you copy paste the following AppleScript into your [Apple] Script Editor and save it (suggestion) wordcnt.applescript. Then, follow this with an option+Save As… and this time set the File format to Script Bundle, or Application with hidden extension — saved to your Desktop. Provided you have a Pages document open, you are then a double-click from the ability to paste your current word count into Pages.
Note: If you have Pages word count display enabled, it will automatically count your pasted value as another word which initially may deceive on true word count at the time the script was run.

Very new to CRM. I am trying to get the count of "activity start time" that are greater than current time stamp. Count(activity start time) work. I don't know how to add the time stamp condition to this. I can't add this condition as filter.

The problem is, i have some other filters set and can't combine this filter. Here is my scenario:
get all activities on a contact that have greater than x $ amount as assets. I need to find the number of future appointments for that contact and start time of first pending future appointment. All has to be in one report.
My columns are for example : contact name, activity start time, end time, subject, next pending appointment start time, total future appointments, some other related fields from contact
So when I add the filter that you had given, it will not give me all activities. I am able to achieve all this in seperate reports and unnable to get it in single one.

Hi Michael,
Yes, you can get them. For row count, you can add a parameter to store the row count of your dataset in your report.
Here are the steps:
1.     Add 2 datasets in your report, one for report use and the other on is to row count use. For instance:
DataSet1: SELECT     HumanResources.vEmployee.* FROM         HumanResources.vEmployee
DataSet2: SELECT     COUNT(*) FROM         HumanResources.vEmployee
2.     Add a parameter, set the parameter’s default value set to Get Values from a query and select DataSet2.
Then, in your ASP.NET web application code you can use the following function to get the row count of the report:
private int GetReportRowCount(ReportViewer report)
            return Convert.ToInt32(report.ServerReport.GetParameters()[0].Values[0].ToString());
For page count, you can refer to the following code:
private int GetReportPageCount(ReportViewer report)
            return report.ServerReport.GetTotalPages();
You may not get the correct row count and page count in after executing Refresh () method, that’s because when you run this method, it will start another thread to refresh the report and the code below Refresh () method will not wait refreshing complete but run it. For instance, you may get the page count as o if you run the following code in the Button event:

You can run the refresh in separate events and get page count in another event, such as below code:

Is it possible to get a count of the records returned in a ResultSet?
Also, is it possible to get the text of a query(PreparedStatement). I am using a PreparedStatement, and want to know what the actual query looks like, with the parameters. i.e. Are the parameters being set correctly or not.

You have to assume that your JDBC driver is managing the conversions properly, as long as you match the data types right. It's really pretty straight-forward, just a little tedious.

Need to get the count based on the column availability

You get a set of table names from a query, say
select table_name from all_tab_columns where column_name like 'DC_I’;

Now, for the above set of tables (A,B and C), you need to get the count(*) for a single dc_i value (say XXX DC)
In simple words, its like framing the following 4 separate queries into one single one:
select table_name from all_tab_columns where column_name like 'DC_I’; (Based on this o/p, following 3 queries..)
select count(*) from A where dc_i=XXX;
select count(*) from B where dc_i=XXX;
select count(*) from C where dc_i=XXX;
