Get ivi instrument handle from NISE Session

In TestStand I begin my sequence with an niSE Open Session.vi and I then pass this NISE session reference around to other VI which use the niSE Connect and Disconnect VI's to connect/disconnect routes specified in MAX. This works perfectly for me. How do I convert this NISE session reference into an instrument handle for specific IVI devices in this NISE Session? I want to be able to use the "ni Switch Get Relay Position.vi". I tried using the "ni Get IVI device session.vi" but i get an error that says VI was stopped at IUseDCO. What does this mean? Is it possible to do what I'm asking?

Hi Chad,
The problem with the find route.vi is it just tells me if the path is available or not. It doesn’t tell me what state the relay is in. When using SPDT relays this is a problem.
I’m using a 2570 card set for SPDT operation. So if I do a find route after a reset on “Com->NO” and “Com->NC” both return path available. I understand this because I have not made a connection call to either one. If I make a call to connect “Com->NC” the relay changes states. The connection then returns a path exists. My problem comes when it comes time to disconnect. Since it is a SPDT I have to first disconnect “Com->NC” then make a call to connect “Com->NO” (which is very annoying). If someone just calls disconnect and I try to read the path availability both return path available again and the relay has changed state. How do I know for sure which pole the common is connected to?
If I open Switch Soft Front Panel it shows exactly what position the relay is in. How do I get this info to labview? This is why I was trying to get the instrument handle to the underlying IVI session so that I can look at individual relays instead of paths between endpoints.
I hope this makes sense. I know I can’t be the first one to have this problem, so if anyone has another solution I would appreciate any help.

Get to windows 7 from mac os x lion

I have downloaded and installed boot camp and windows 7. It worked earlier, and i have a program for my college programming class, then i switched the main boot to mac again. After that i can not get back to windows 7. i've restarted quite a few times and it still has not worked. i have held the option key down and that does not work. PLEASE HELPP!!

Zap the PRAM then.
Set the startup default to Windows
Hold the mouse down instead of the Option/Alt key.
BT and wireless keyboards are harder to get the boot manager screen, and the time when to hit Alt key.

I understand that this function does exist, but somehow I am not writing my wrapper properly or calling the function properly because everytime I build my labview app I get a "GetForegroundWindow is a missing VI or C file." - I cannot for the life of me figure this out ... what I was really asking is if anyone has succeeded calling this function and getting the Window Handle. What I really want to do is run my Labview program on the PDA in full screen mode with no title bar and no SIP button visible or accessible, but to my knowledge, that will take a function call to the aygshell.dll (namely the SHFullScreen function) and that function requires a window handle to work properly ... any more help would be appreciated ... How do I create a window from an applet?

I am trying to create a window application from an applet. The window that I need should meet the following criteria:
1. The window application will be created when I click on one of the buttons in the applet.
2. If I close the applet from the browser, the window application should not be affected.
3. I should be able to close the window by clicking the X icon on the upper right corner.
4. The window application works by itself. It does not need to interact with the applet any more.
Is there any example similar to what I am looking for available?

Security exception when trying to call a DLL from an applet

Hi all,
I really hope someone out there can help me. I'm trying to call a windows DLL from an applet but always get some error when the call to the DLL comes. If I run it on the command line (calling a dummy main function that only calls the dll) I don't get any error. However, with the -Djava.security.manager, I get an ExceptionInitialiserError. When running it in a browser, I seem to get any of three errors, the above, securityAccessControlException (as I was expecting) and even NoClassDefFoundError.
I realise of course that this has to do with the permissions in effect but nothing seems to happen when I change the policy file, so I have to feeling that I'm chaning the wrong file. The one I'm using is the one the JRE entry in the registry is pointing to, Java Runtime Environment->CurrentVersion...
I even tried giving everything in the applet's directory AllPermission.
So what I'm wondering is this. Is there any way to check if your policies are actually working and when you update the files, what do you need to do to make the changes take effect?

How to delete a loaded DLL from an applet

I succesfully wrote some code that extracts a Windows DLL from the applet jar to a temporary file and loads the extracted DLL (using a System.load call).
Now I want to remove the DLL after the applet is closed. I tried to use the shutdown hook functionality of the java.lang.Runtime object, but this doesn't seem to work for an applet.
Anyone any ideas about how to tackle this? Note that I'm not interested in installing the DLL's in for example the windows/system32 directory. To prevent any potential DLL versioning troubles I just want to use the DLL's as a temp file and remove them afterwards.

How to Use AccessibleObjectFromWindow API in VBA to Get Excel Application Object from Excel Instance Window Handle

I need to get the Excel.application object from a window handle using AccessibleObjectFromWindow. I can't seem to make the code work. First, I successfully search for the XLMAIN windows. Then, when I get a handle, I execute the AccessibleObjectFromWindow
function. It seems to return a value of -2147467262 in all cases. Therefore, I believe that it is returning an error value. I can't figure out how to determine the meaning of this value.
If it is an error value, I believe that one or more arguments are in error. My best guess at present is that the GUID argument is incorrect. I have tried two GUID values: {00020400-0000-0000-C000-000000000046} and {90140000-0016-0409-0000-0000000FF1CE}.
I have seen both used in conjunction with OBJID_NATIVEOM. Neither one seems to work. I really would prefer not to use the second one as it has an Excel major and minor version number. I would hate to have to change this code, if a new minor version appeared.
The attached code has been commented to show which parts have been shown to work and which not. I'm at my wits end and really need help.

I don't think you can return a reference to Excel's main window like that as you are attempting to do.

Note as written if an instance does not have any loaded workbooks a reference will not be returned (though a workbook can be added using DDE, but convoluted!)
FWIW there are two other very different approaches to grab all running Excel instances though something along the lines of the above is simplest.

Getting error in a soap proxy from an applet

Hi, I'm getting error in Applet window while it trying to get the SOAP PROXY from Applet. Does any one came cross this type of the problem? Please help!!!

Error in JAVA-Plug-IN window:
unable to find the type mapping resource file for:weblogic.jws.proxies.rmGetApi
I turn on the debug option in PLUG-IN and it show me that it trying to access the - rmGetApi.xml which is part of the clientjar file and it is not finding.I also test from my browser I can access the RmGetApi.class but I can't access the XML which is in same jar.

Closing browser window from an Applet?

I've written a series of applets that perform different functions. I placed a button on each applet with the purpose to close the window in which that applet is running. However I don't even know where to start looking to find out how to make my applet close it's own browser window. I know how to open a new browser window from an applet but not vice versa.
Can anyone help please?

Right, I sort of tracked down some code that uses getMethods to allow me to invoke a Javascript command. It is not pretty and took a little bit of editing to get to work but it does the job without putting JS stuff into my HTML.
However it is causing some problems. If I open one of my other applets it will only let me close that window and the previous applets ceases to respond at all. I think this may be because the invoke gets the JSObject which is the window and somehow having more than one applet open in different windows is causing it to get confused and is locking the first window and only responding to the second.
I have seen a much simpler method that uses:
import netscape.javascript.*;
and JSObject to get the window but my compiler complains about the import. Any further suggestions or an example would be welcome as my current solution is a bit limited as you can effectively only have one window open at a time which doesn't suit my needs.

Does this only open on that specific site?
In any case, you may want to:
- instruct Firefox to handle PDF files in a specific way by going into Tools > Options > Applications and selecting the option you want for the PDF files
- reinstall Adobe Reader and its Firefox plugin
- install another reader instead of Adobe Reader. I recommend Foxit Reader ( http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/reader/ ), since it's free, VERY light, VERY fast, safe and also has a Firefox plugin (make sure you don't have both Adobe Reader plugin and Foxit Reader plugin enabled/installed at the same time in Firefox)
