Getting error ORA-02067: transaction or savepoint rollback required
I am performing the task of archiving the data from one database into another database. This is being achieved by using a shell script. I run the shell script to call the procedure. After running two or three hours, I am getting the following error
ORA-02067: transaction or savepoint rollback required
Even I re-ran the job I was getting the same error.
Can any one suggest me why I am getting this error and what is the possible remedial of it ?
Please post this question in General Database Discussions forum.
To get you started, here is what the documentation says about this error.
ORA-02067: transaction or savepoint rollback required
Cause: A failure (typically a trigger or stored procedure with multiple remote updates) occurred such that the all-or-nothing execution of a previous Oracle call cannot be guaranteed.
Action: rollback to a previous savepoint or rollback the transaction and resubmit.

Starting Oracle 11gr2 Im getting Error: ORA-03135: connection lost contact
Hi Guys!
Thanks for your advises. I still working toward a resolution.
But I encountered another issue from Enterp Manager :
ERROR : Please correct the following error: Connection string must be specified.
My connection has this format:
//using connection string attributes to connect to Oracle Database
con.ConnectionString = "User Id=scott;Password=tiger;Data Source=oracle";
con.Open();
Console.WriteLine("Connected to Oracle" + con.ServerVersion);
Please tell me what is wrong here. Thanks. Dan.

Direct Path SQL Loader get error ORA-01555
Hi All,
11.2.0.1 DB
Has anyone here used sqlloader direct path option?
Is there special setting I need for the Undo TS?
I am testing my sqlloader direct path but I got error : ORA-01555: snapshot too old: rollback segment number 10 with name "_SYSSMU10$" too small
I am only testing 100 records and I shutdown the database. And I am only the one using it. :(
Does dropping the Undo TS and creating new one help resolve my issue?
Thanks a lot,
Kinz
Edited by: KinsaKaUy? on 07-Nov-2012 03:33I drop my UNDOTS1 and recreate it to resolve if there are framentation in the TS itself , but to no avail, the same error persist :(
Record 1: Rejected - Error on table EMPLOYEE.
ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1
ORA-01555: snapshot too old: rollback segment number with name "" too small

System Error: Unknown Database error (type qqdb_ResourceException) on WMS_WH1: Execute failed for SQL statement ............... error from database is: ORA-01555: snapshot too old: rollback segment number 1 with name "_SYSSMU1$" too small...
Any ideas ? Please help.
Thank you.You either have
- an UNDO tablespace that is way too small (rollback segments that are too small); or
- an application that does way too many COMMITs (common with apps ported from SQL Server)
From the added info, I would guess that the Java program has a major loop and does processing on each of the values it gets in that loop. At the end of each turn in the loop, it does a commit. Then it tries to look at the next record in the master list. After a while (say around 388 loops ;-) ) it dies.
The reason is that when it looks for information in the master query, it needs to rebuild that information to the moment that query was initiated. It uses rollback (AKA undo) to rebuild that. But rollback is not guaranteed to exist after a commit (unless forced) and once a commit happens, that area can be reused. When it is reused, the information is no longer there to rebuild the row, and that raises an ORA-01555

Trying to upgrade an old 7.3.4 database running on Aix to 8.1.7 so I can get a compatible export file to allow me to take it to 10gR2.
I have done some work to get the init.ora file configured with the proper values but the odma fails with the following error:
drop table dual;
ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1
ORA-01552: cannot use system rollback segment for non-system tablespace 'xxx'
I have other rollback segments defined by my init.ora file and during a normal database startup they are online.
When I run the 'odma' process it takes the database down and when it brings it up it only has the SYSTEM rollback segment online.
I know this is an old configuration but anyone have any suggestions?
I do have "audit_trail = none" in my init file.
Update:
Looks like to just do an exp/imp I don't need to worry about going through odma so I am just going to close this post.

I have an issue where myself and another user are unable to upload a csv file to my application using the "File Browse" page item in V4.1.1. I get the following error, "Error ORA-01403: no data found".
This function was working perfectly last week prior to the upgrade of our APEX to V4.1.1 from V3. Other users are still able to upload the csv file, so the PL/SQL behind it must be ok.
So here is where I am up to with testing.
Tested the upload using my login on my PC – Fail
Tested the upload using my login on another PC – Fail
Tested the upload using other user’s login on my PC – Success
Tested the upload using other user’s login on another PC - Success
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
GregThe offending piece of code was in a block of script that I used from an online sample when I was first setting up this upload script. A colleague had the same issue in another application and rewrote the script to resolve the issue, see below.
I'm still perplexed as to why the majority of users could run it ok, and there were only 2 of us that it errored on. But now it's working for all, and I can go back to building some cool stuff in V4.1.1.00.23.

Hi,
I'm trying to extract schema DDL from a database (10.2.0.4.0 - 64bit Enterprise Edition on Solaris 10). I run the query below and get an ORA-00907: missing right parenthesis error.
SELECT DBMS_METADATA.GET_DDL( REPLACE(object_type,' ','_') AS object_type, object_name) FROM user_objects WHERE object_type NOT IN ('TABLE_PARTITION','INDEX_PARTITION','LOB');
This is the output when running the above in sqlplus worksheet
select DBMS_METADATA.GET_DDL( REPLACE(object_type,' ','_') as object_type, object_name) FROM user_objects where object_type not in ('TABLE_PARTITION','INDEX_PARTITION','LOB')
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-00907: missing right parenthesis
removing the where clause gives the following:
select DBMS_METADATA.GET_DDL( REPLACE(object_type,' ','_') as object_type, object_name) FROM user_objects
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-00907: missing right parenthesis
Any pointers would be gratefully received. I know I could get the DDL out using exp/imp but I want to understand why I'm getting the missing parenthesis error.
cheers,
EwanSELECT DBMS_METADATA.GET_DDL( REPLACE(object_type,' ','_') AS object_type, object_name) FROM user_objects WHERE object_type NOT IN You don't need an alias here. Get rid of " AS object_type" and it should work.

Hi All,
i habe written package, and the spce define as -

type F761TabType is TABLE of F761RecType INDEX BY BINARY_INTEGER;
l_F761_table F761TabType;
PROCEDURE modification1
p_F761_table IN F761TabType,
From button click of form i passed -
DECLARE
l_f761_table I743_PUC_MAPS_TREE_PKG.F761TabType;
l_counter number;

Discoverer 3.1.25: getting error ORA-06550 when scheduling report
Hello,
we are still using the Discoverer version 3 (release 3.1.25). I know that this version is out of support, but that doesn't harm use from using it...
The Discoverer has been working fine for the last couple years. At the beginning of every month the same already defined reports are getting generated. But with the beginning of the year 2010 we are getting the error:
ORA-06550: line 1, column 93:
PLS-00201: identifier 'EUL$BATCH_PACKAGE0100112082923.RUN' must be declared
ORA-06550: line 1, column 93:
PL/SQL: Statement ignored
ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_JOB" line 79
The numbers "0100112082923" after the identifier "EUL$BATCH_PACKAGE" specify the date and time:
082923: 08 hour, 29 minutes, 23 seconds
0100112: 010 year, 01 month, 12 day
The reason of that error is that the mentioned Package/Packagebody EUL$BATCH_PACKAGE*0*100112082923 doesn't exist in the database. But as a matter of fact the Package/Packagebody 'EUL$BATCH_PACKAGE100112082923 does exist. The Discoverer creates the Package/Packagebody without the "0" after the identifier "EUL$BATCH_PACKAGE" in the database, but wants to use the Package/Packagebody with the "0" after the identifier "EUL$BATCH_PACKAGE". Seems like a bug to me - does anybody have the same problem?
Until the year 2009 the year was specified with just two digits (09) - now the year seems to get specified with 3 digits (010) - but in the database just two digits are used. Is there any property table or button where this gets defined?
Any help will be appreciated!Seems like if I have found the bug by myself...
In the procedure SubmitJob(...) of the package EUL$BATCH_REPOSITORY the name of the scheduled procedure gets generated with the hardcoded string
"EUL$BATCH_PACKAGE0". The zero after "PACKAGE" is only correct when the year ends with one digit (e.g. 2001, 2002, ..., 2009). When shortening the
string to "EUL$BATCH_PACKAGE" everything works fine again...
Rgds
