Getting exception error - need help resolving please

Question

I am getting the following exception when I try running a short program that user the Scanner object:
Enter a number in feet: Exception in thread "main" java.util.NoSuchElementException
     at java.util.Scanner.throwFor(Scanner.java:817)
     at java.util.Scanner.next(Scanner.java:1431)
     at java.util.Scanner.nextDouble(Scanner.java:2335)
     at FeetInchConvert.main(FeetInchConvert.java:27)
Here's the program I am running (which compiled w/o errors):

public class FeetInchConvert

// Next, prompt for inches and convert to feet.
public static void main(String[] args)
final double INCHES_IN_FEET = 12.0;
double feet, inches;
int wholeInches;
Scanner ourScanner = new Scanner(System.in);

feet = ourScanner.nextDouble();
inches = feet * INCHES_IN_FEET;
System.out.println("\n" + feet + " feet is " +
inches + " inches.\n");
System.out.print("Now, enter a whole number in inches: ");
wholeInches = ourScanner.nextInt();
feet = wholeInches / INCHES_IN_FEET;
System.out.println("\n" + wholeInches + " inches is " +
feet + " feet.");
I have installed Java 5.0 on my Windows XP Pro system. I'm thinking that something might be wrong with my configuration. I am using TextPad for development.
Can someone please help me out on this one?

This is the configuration that works for me:
Click Configure
Click Preferences
Click Tools
Click Run Java Application
Command should be java.exe
Parameters should be $BaseName
Initial folder should be $FileDir
All of the checkboxes are unchecked.
