Getting ora-01756 during IMPORT of (packaged) application

Hi experts,
I am trying to install one of the packaged apps from otn into my APEX 3.1 on XE under WinXP and get the following error.
ORA-20001: GET_BLOCK Error. ORA-20001: Execution of statement was unsuccessful. ORA-01756: ...
Error installing application.
Same thing happens when IMPORING an app into the same Workspace from which I have EXPORTED it.
It installs properly on apex.oracle.com!!
Possibly it has to do with NLS SETTINGS for Switzerland?
Grand separator in numerical characters could be '
Any ideas, anyone with the same problems?
Thanks in front,
Lutz

I have found a workaround:
instead of using a Swiss OS I installed a German version of WIN XP
now everything works fine.
I guess it has to do with a ' which is missing somewhere in the code.
With Swiss locale ' is used as a grand separator which might cause the ORA-01756 thrown by the installer.

    Hi all,
    I was trying to import into a database which i have only the details, but i have no access to db machine, which i think was the problem.
    dmp file easily got imported to database present in the systems which i had access.
    Following are my conclusions based on the experiments, correct me if I'm wrong:
    1. Basically these are errors when db system cant read/write/access the directory structure pointed by directory in database.
    2. This can be achieved by mounting the directory in which dmp is present to the system where database is present.
    2. We cannot import using impdp just by having tns details of the db, we need to have access to db system.
    Thanks
    Avi :)

  • ORA-39779 during import of types

    Hi ,
    I have executed an export with the following parameters:
    DIRECTORY=DATAPUMP_DIR
    DUMPFILE=exportdp_FULL_%U.dmp
    LOGFILE=exportdp_FULL.log
    FLASHBACK_SCN=6070655498233
    FULL=yes
    CONTENT=ALL
    FILESIZE=2G
    PARALLEL=2
    The source database is of release 10.2.0.4.0 and installed on a HP-UX (HP-UX 11.23) environment.
    The target database is of release 10.2.0.5.0 and installed on Red Hat Linux (Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.8 ) environment.
    The parameterfile for the import has the following parameters:
    DUMPFILE=exportdp_FULL_%U.dmp
    LOGFILE=importdp_FULL.log
    SCHEMAS=schema_a, schema_b, schema_c, schema_d
    REMAP_TABLESPACE=DEFAULTUSER:DEFAULT_USER
    PARALLEL=4
    METRICS=yes
    During the import the following errors get raised:
    ORA-31693: Table data object "SCHEMA_A"."TEST" failed to load/unload and is being skipped due to error:
    ORA-02354: error in exporting/importing data
    ORA-39779: type "SCHEMA_A"."OT_TEST" not found or conversion to latest version is not possible
    Going through MOS and several forums none of the offered solutions (e.g. TRANSFORM=oid:n) solved this issue.
    Currently I really don't have idea how to solve this issue - it's not clear to me what causes the problem. Running the query
    SELECT o.oid$
    , t.hashcode
    , o.name
    FROM sys.obj$ o
    , sys.user$ u
    , sys.type$ t
    WHERE o.owner# = u.user#
    AND o.oid$ = t.toid
    AND o.name = 'OT_TEST';
    gives different results on source- and target-database (oid and hashcode do both differ).
    Any help will truly appreciated.

    Thanks!

    The photoshop version is genuine.
    I am using wired connection.  The router has four ports and the other PC which runs vista is in one of the other ports.  It also has photoshop on it as I can't deactivate it, although I've just read somewhere on the internet that I am allowed to use this version of CS3 photoshop on two different PCs.  I didn't know that.  Perhaps I don't need to deactivate that at all.  I thought I was doing something naughty having the programme on both PCs even though I have tried to take it off the first one.
    I haven't networked the two computers although the latest PC was networked to two other computers when some of my family lived here last year, they did the networking.  I've just looked through explorer and the old PC is showing as on the network, but I can't connect to it.  I don't know enough about networking to connect the two.  I double clicked on its name through explorer and a network error came up so clicked on diagnose which told me that the new PC was configured correctly but that the device was not responding.  Another network problem perhaps or maybe part of the same one, I don't know.
    Windows 7 Home Premium is on the new PC, the other has Windows Vista Home Premium.
    I have tried using the windows troubleshooter but it isn't as successful as the HP Network check which at least finds the fault and corrects it until the PC is turned off, I don't understand why that fix can't be permanent.  Windows troubleshooter can't find the problem at all.
    The only solution I can see at the moment is to leave the PC switched on all the time, but my husband says NO, take photoshop off, thats the problem.  I'm beginning to think he is right.  I'm spending so much time trying to solve the problem I'm not getting any enjoyment out of using photoshop at all.
    My head hurts!

  • How does APEX import a packaged APEX application

    I was wondering, if someone might help me to better understand how APEX imports a packaged application.
    The typical packaged application file looks like a simple SQL*Plus Script that needs to be processed by SQL*Plus from PL/SQL on the server.
    I would be most interested to understand how APEX handling this process because it might really help me (and probably many others) to improving our own installation process.
    Thank you in advance for any information!

    The documentation contains an entire chapter on Deploying an Application. This appears to be a good place to start.
    The tutorial How to Review a Packaged Application would also be worthwhile.

    Hi,
    The syntax of the created SDA may be wrong
    Check the main attributes defined in SAP_MANIFEST.MF are equal or not to their corresponding componentelement entry.
    SAP_MANIFEST.MF file is located in META-INF subfolder in the .sda file.
    The values of "keycounter" and "counter" should be the same. Also the values of "keyname" and "name" should be identical.

    Interesting.  You should open a  thread with a more relevant title about views with pk / fk constraints.

  • Error during importing photos

    For some reason, I get an "error during import" message when i try to drag my photos into my movie. (i've done it before successfully) They show up in my photo library when i click on the photos tab in imovie, but it wont let me import them. any thoughts?

    WHen I tried to drag all my pictures of that Album (or one at a time) from the iMovie picture pane displaying that Album, I get an error
    Why are you doing this? Every album (in fact, every photo, whether in an album or not) in your current iPhoto library is directly available from the pop-up menu when the "photos" tab is selected in iMovie. There is nothing that needs to be imported. Only photos that have not been previously incorporated into iPhoto need to be dragged to iMovie.

  • "Error During Import" after authorization

    HI all,
    I transferred a few songs from my desktop to my laptop. The songs play fine in iTunes after the transfer. When trying to use the music in iMovie, it asks for authorization (I only have my songs authorized on 1 computer). I give my password and a messaage pops up saying that the authorization was successful. I try to import the song into iMovie and the message I get is:
    *Error During Import*
    The file could not be imported: The file “(file path)” isn’t authorized for this computer.
    Any ideas?
    TIA!

    Hi c
    Only way around I use is:
    • in iTunes export out as audio-CD .aiff
    • use this in Your movie project
