Can anyone help me find out how to get rid of those pesky HP ink level or paper out dialog boxes that clutter up my screen?

Is "the box" a message or alert window? What does it say? Can you post a screenshot? (We have no way of knowing what you see.)

Lion no longer supports PowerPC apps. If this is Microsoft Office 2008 (Entourage 2008) then you should disable the syncing services. (I don't have Office 2008 installed anymore so I don't know exactly what it's called anymore.) If you have Microsoft Office 2004 or earlier, then it can't be run on Lion at all since Lion removed Rosetta, which is what allowed a PPC app to run on an Intel based Mac.
Also, I believe Microsoft removed sync services from the current Outlook 2011 (which replaces Entourage) so even upgrading to a newer version of Microsoft Office will not get you back that calendar sync feature. Supposedly Microsoft is working on a new syncing system, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

You can always reinstall GB.
BTW... GlimmerBlocker is an ad blocker, not anti virus software.

C4700 installed ;Get rid of black box on screen??

Installed printer, it works fine. Can't get rid of black box panel on left side of computer screen;says clip book on top. So can't see left half of websites or email. Also dragging box over to print doesn't go out of panel.

I believe this is the HP Smart Web Print software that was installed after installing the full feature driver of the printer. You can uninstall it from Add/Remove Programs of the Control Panel if you are using Windows XP, or it is in Uninstall A Program of Programs and FEatures of Windows Vista or Windows 7.

I have the message Cannot get mail - the connection to the server failed. I did delete yahoo on iphone and reinstall and stated getting email again. But the message still comes up. Does anyone know how to get rid of message from screen? Thanks in advance

go to mail contacts calendars under settings
delete the yahoo account
re add the yahoo account
dont need the yahoo app you use the native mail app with a yahoo account

now that i've upgraded to yosemite, often when i open a "pages" file, a warning box pops up saying, "this pages '09 document may look different" & then explains why, usually noting that "os x spotlight search information was removed." how can i get rid of this annoying box? thanks.

All of the content that you entered into the Info tab of the Pages '09 Document Inspector was removed. Author, Title, Keywords, and Comments — all wiped by Pages v5.5.2, because it has no counterpart. If you export this former Pages '09 document from Pages v5.5.2 (as Pages '09), you will see that all this data has been wiped. Every Pages '09 document that has these Document Info fields populated with result in that message, and there is no means to suppress it.
As for the Spotlight message, the preceding Pages '09 document Info fields are neither searchable by Spotlight, do not appear in any Get Info fields, nor are shown by mdls in the Terminal. Apple scores another bogus message.
Of more concern for Pages '09 documents is the fact that Pages v5.5.2 is a calamitous subset of features that are available in Pages '09. It will remove every unsupported feature in a Pages '09 document, and then autosave what is left over the original document.

HT4847 How do I unlock my ipad. It Wants me to back up icloud but can't get rid of message to try

My ipad is showing a message that advises icloud has not been backed up for 2 weeks and the ipad needs to be plugged in and charging to enable back up. However, I can't get rid of the message so that I can turn on wi-fi and start back up. This has happened to me before and I ended up having to pay a one off fee of £25.00 for advice to clear the message that was quick to do. Can't remember how to do it though. Reset it by holding the power and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then release. This just restarts it, you won't lose any data by doing this.

How to get rid of message in Konsole "System Serial#" looks incorrect or invalid

I hava a one year old MBP, in real it is some weeks older than this.
The Display showed a thin yellow line on the left side of the display.
I took it to the Apple-Store and they, after some discussions about the warranty, took it and repaird it.
On the next day i went for it to get it out of the store (they told me to fetch it).
First thing, i checked for the error. Sadly it came up again.
What did they do? They changed the MLB (Motherboard).
OK, i do now have a "new" MBP.
The same error (yellow line) appeared and they took it to repair it again, this time changing the display.
Three days later they told me to fetch it again.
Heading for the Store, have a look on the Display..... very good no yellow line. Great!
BUT! the Display is lightly turned in the case. Grrrr..
If it is a Laptop for 300 $ ok but not on a system for 2000 $.
I will bring it back i a few days to "repair" it, again.
Now to the mentioned Console-Message:
"Hardware SerialNumber "System Serial#" looks incorrect or invalid"
After replacing the MLB, the Hardware changed.
Is it a problem for the Software?
What can happen, and what restrictions/problems will i have?
How do i get rid of it?

When the logic board is replaced, the serial number has to be flashed back into the records - there is a special tool for that and they will need to do that or you will show an incorrect serial number forever and it may result in problems. That part is easy to fix - simply tell them they need to flash/re-register your old serial number.
As for the other problems: good luck; if they keep replacing/repairing for the same problem more than 3 times, ask (very politely) if one could consider replacing the machine as the repairs are not fixing the problem.
