GetURL AFTER movie plays

i'm trying to play a .flv file that is called from within a
.swf
i've got that part working using flash by just importing the
video into scene 1. it plays the video.
now when the video has finished playing -- and not until then
-- i then want to do a getURL to splash.htm in order for the viewer
to be taken to another page on the site where there is a nice
looping graphic for them to see but only AFTER the video has
finished playing
i don't know where to put the getURL. i assume i'm not
expected to figure out precisely on which frame number the movie is
going to finish playing and put the getURL there right?
isn't there a way for it to do the getURL after and only
after the .flv movie has finished playing, whenever that may be?
as it is now, it does the getURL before the video has
finished playing with the frame i've got it on now or if i put the
getURL in the next scene it just does the getURL before the video
has had a chance to play through
is there a way for it to know that the video is playing and
not launch the getURL until it's done?
i'm looking for a way to do this using the guided script, i
don't know code

How am I playing it? I opened up a New Flash Document in
Macromedia Flash Professional 8. I did a File > Import Video and
then specified the .flv file and opted for 'Progressive Download
for a Web Server' option. It processed that and I had a video on
the stage, that's it.
Then File > Export Movie creates a .swf file that
apparently automatically calls and plays the .flv file. I didn't
add any code or actions or anything and it plays.
Does that tell you how I'm playing the video or might I be
leaving something out?
I looked up NetStream.onStatus but I don't know code and it's
pretty Greek to me...what exactly am I supposed to do to get it to
do a getURL action after the movie has played? I'm not even sure
where the code would go, like on which frame...within the same
scene where the video is playing I assume?
For comparison on ease of use, the swishvideo program I was
using has a toggle button on the export options that you just click
and then type in the URL you want launched, so this is pretty far
removed for me in terms of complexity...

Flash loader reappears after movie plays

i am new to flash and cannot figure this out!!! it's probably
super simple... i have created a loader with progress bar and it
seems to work fine, but after my movie finishes playing the loader
screen with progress bar reappears at the end. how can i make it go

i tried what was suggested below, but it didn't work. do i
need to put anything in the parentheses and if so what? i tried
leaving it as is and i also tried putting the name of the loader
file in: "iceworlds.loader.swf"

After Movie Plays, Returns back to Scene Selections? How to Fix?

It seems that this would be an easy fix via the Menu Map, however, I could not get it to work.
How do you get the movie to return to the Main Menu after the movie is over? Currently it goes to the Scene Selection screen.
OR
Does it go back to the menu that you started from? Is there any way to control this without going to DVD Studio Pro?

I haven't tried this out, but it would seem logical to me that it returns to the menu you have started from.
If you want to set the jump/return commands manually, you can do so in DVDSP. Another possibility might be to do some post production with mDVDedit: http://www.mydvdedit.com

I bought a Sandisk Connect Media Drive, downloaded the app from iTunes. Before iOS 8, movies played fine. After iOS upgrade I can no longer play movies downloaded from iTunes to the media drive. Anyone else have a similar issue?

I checked with SanDisk's own online support and they indicate that they have notified Apple of the issue.
According to SanDisk, the problem lies with Apple not having the iOS 8 version of the Safari browser having DRM decoding enabled that the Media Drive relies upon to decode and play iTunes DRM titles. Non DRM encoded videos will play in the browser.
DRM audio is not effected as this is handled by the native iOS music app.
As of the date of this post SanDisk have not been given a timeframe by Apple for this issue to be resolved.
I hope that Apple resolves this issue quickly as I have a large collection of DRM video titles on a 128Mb memory card installed in the Media Drive that I am unable to view.

Images enlarge and movies play in iweb, but not when published

Everything works fine in the program, but when published to site or folder, photos are there, but won't enlarge. The movie thumbnail shows with the little movie icon in the corner, but clicking does nothing.

On all of your pages you have an image that appears to cover the photos preventing them from being clicked on.
Move it to the back via the Arrange menu or get rid of it.
How did you add the videos to the page? If you just dragged them onto the page or used the movie page then iWeb will have to upload them when it publishes the page and all will load when the page is accessed which can cause long loading time for the page.
Also thre are some files missing for the TV page as seen in the Activity window (Command+Option+A) for the page. Publish the site to a folder on your hard drive and open it there. Check to see if the movies play OK (after you fix that overlaying image issue). If they do then the problem lies in the uploading of the files.
If those files are Quicktime then the viewers must have Quicktime installed on their computer in order to view them. See this page on Roddy's iWeb for Musicians site for methods of presenting movies that will let all computers view them: Player-Showcase.html. See the list at the right for different players you can use.

Why won't my .mov or my .mp4 movie play in Keynote 4.0?

Others on the forum seem able to play movies in their keynote projects. I can't.
When the slide I have placed the movie comes up, the movie plays for a second or so and then quits while the next slide comes up. What am I doing wrong? The movie is just over 2 minutes long. Why won't it play?
Any help will be appreciated. I'm new to using Keynote. I've enjoyed making builds with music on mulitiple slides, but dang it, I can't seem to make a simple .mov or a .mp4 movie work. I'm guessing I'm missing something very basic. Please help.

If I am understanding your problem correctly, this is unfortunately a bug (or simply an unsupported feature) in Keynote that has not been corrected since the very beginning. Currently, the only way to have a movie play properly through is to:
1) make sure the slide containing the movie has no delay in the transition to the next slide, and
2) you will need to create transparent objects (like a square), each building in a set amount of seconds (60 seconds max allowable per object). For example: For a three minute movie, you will need to create an object, build it in over 60 seconds. Then copy and paste for the second object only this time, set it to start building in AFTER the previous build. Copy and paste again, set to build after the previous build, only this time, you will need to adjust the 60 seconds down to whatever fits. When the last object is done building, the slide will transition regardless of whether or not the movie is done playing.
It is a complete waste of time as trying to determine the duration of the last object to build in is totally trial and error. I am amazed that this simple feature (playing a movie within a slide) is hampered.

How to restart movie play using AirPlay

I have an iPad 2 connected to Apple TV which is connected to our HDTV.
Click Video. Select a Movie. Start playing the movie.
Click the AirPlay control and send the movie to Apple TV.
After a couple of minutes the iPad screen will go dark.
If I double tap the Home button the Video app appears.
There is a 'Slide to Unlock' slider at the bottom.
And at the top there are controls for the movie play. Volume, Skip Forward, Skip Back, and Pause.
I tap the Pause button (without using the 'Slide to Unlock' slider).
The movie stops playing.
Now I want to restart the movie. But the 'Play' button does not respond.
The Volume and Skip buttons are active. But the Play isn't.
The only way I can get the movie to start playing again is to slide the 'Slide to Unlock' slider.
Then tap the Play button.
Is this the way it is supposed to be working?
I find having these controls available from the double tap of Home extremely convenient.
I'd just like to know if there is a way to restart the play without unlocking the screen.

I called Apple Support on this.
This is working like it is supposed to.
The 'Resume/Play' button is disabled until the screen is unlocked.
The other buttons will work.
A suggestion by the agent was to change the screen lock controls when using this function.
Now that I understand that this is the expected behavior I know what to do.

Can't get javascript to change movie playing in web page

I'm very new to web page development and scripting, so please bear with me. This is a test page I'm trying to get to work. Eventually there will be several images of different videos, and I want the different videos to play in one player, depending on which one is clicked on. This is the page: I have tried this on both Windows 7 Home Premium at home and Windows XP Professional SP 3 at work. All the links work except the crucial one, which is supposed to change the movie. I would appreciate any help you can give, and can supply any other information that will be helpful. Thanks!

Premiere 6.5-how to keep the last image stay after movie's over?

Hi.
I am using Adobe Premiere 6.5.
I like to keep the last image to stay after movie/ animation finished to play, but they disappear and shows the "x" mark.
How can I leave the last image stays after they are done playing? Please help with this?

Welcome to the forum. What you are referring to is a Freeze Frame.
Though I like John T's method (one that I use), you might want to look into Frame Hold, if it is in Pr 6.5. It works in a similar fashion, but I like the still for my Freeze Frames. Also, remember that you can adjust the Duration of the still, by click-dragging on the Tail, until it is as long as you need.

Movie plays in preview but not playing in chm

I've tried several different methods of adding flash video
files to a HTML Help project.
I've added the files to the Baggage Files and the Multimedia
folder (at least I think they're in the Multimedia folder!!).
When I preview the help page in RH, the movie plays as
expected. But, after compiling the help, the page looks blank and
the movie does not play.
Any suggestions?

Foreground and background movies playing simultaneously

Can Acrobat 9 Pro allow a smaller, foreground movie to playing simultaneously on top of a larger background movie?
Here are my slide design criteria. I need to have a single slide show with a movie that takes up the full size of the slide. It will start automatically and loop continuous when opened. I need to have additional movies appear on top of the large background movie, and start only when clicked. These smaller sized movies would be invisible till clicked; they are zoomed in versions of certain areas of the larger background. I think of them as Hotspots.
Once the Hotspot movie is done playing, I need it to become invisible again. I will need to have 6-8 of these Hotspots; they will not overlap each other, but certainly will lay on top of the larger background movie.
1.What’s the best way to insert these Hotspot movies?
2.How can I get them to be invisible before and after play?
3.Can I make them available if the presenter wanted to show the hotspot movie more than once?
4.How can I make them use separate movie player player sessions?
5. How can I keep the background movie playing behind the hotspot playing in the foreground?
The goal is to keep the audience focused on the single slide and view these zoomed-in, closeup movies as the presenter chooses during the presentation.
If there is any way to do this, i'd be keenly interested in the details.

It can't be done using separate rich media annotations, but you could make the entire thing as a single SWF file using Flash Pro, and embed that full-page in your PDF document.

"Pixelated" and out of sync movies played in flash

Hello.
Recently i had a problem with my flash player after installing a Windows Update (not sure if its related).
Movies played on sites like YouTube became out of sync and pixelated.
Im not exactly sure how to explain this, so i uploaded a few pictures of the issue.

The sound is normal and the only thing affected if the video. If is there is any sudden movement in the video, it will distort the image.
Im using v10.2 and am on Win7 x64. Viewing the video's in Firefox.
I had the same issue on my older computer a while back using Vista x64 in both Firefox and IE.
The problem on my older computer was resolved by simply restarting the computer. But this time that didnt work.
I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling flash, and restarted multiple times.
If anyone could help me solve this puzzle please let me know. Or if you need any more info on my specs or setup, just ask =)

DVDPlayer not recognizing DVD. I have an IMAC (10.7.4) using DVDPlayer (vers. 5500.26.11) and will not recognize/play a dvd movie...it thinks it is a blank dvd. The dvd movie plays fine on my Mac Book Pro (10.6.8) on the Pro's DVDPlayer (vers.5.4).

FCP 4: NTSC monitor image FROZEN/movie plays JITTERY in canvas window.

Hey guys. This started yesterday. Every time I hit play, the image from the frame I began playing at on the timeline remains frozen on my NTSC monitor, while the movie plays jittery, roughly, totally unsmoothly in the canvas window. I'm pretty sure I've tried all of Shane's answers, but right now I'm stuck. Any help is immensely appreciated.

Movies playing in iTunes will not show closed captions

I have purchased several movies from the iTunes store. They all have Closed Captioning listed in the store description. I need Closed Captioning because I have hearing loss and even with my hearing aids, I cannot hear all the dialogue in movies.
In my iTunes app, I opened Preferences-->Playback and checked the box for "Show closed captioning when available." Then I play the movie in iTunes. No captions. I click on the Controls menu for Audio & Subtitles. It's grayed out.
I go to the .m4v file in Finder and open the movie with Quicktime to see whether I can get captions that way. No captions. I check the View menu for Show Closed Captioning. It's grayed out.
At this point I'm thinking these movies do not really HAVE captions, despite what the store description said. However, this proves to be wrong because I turn on my TV and start up my Apple TV 3. I select "Movies" and then "Purchased" and find these movies. When I play these movies via the Apple TV, they all show up on the TV screen with the captions working perfectly.
So, what gives? I've spent hours searching the internet for a solution, but all I can find is that the selection I've made in iTunes preferences *should* make the captions show up in iTunes. I'm stumped. I want to play the movies on my computer in iTunes (or in Quicktime) so that I don't have to be at my house in front of my TV in order the enjoy them. Is there any way I can make these movies play in iTunes with the captions showing? Can anyone make any suggestions? I'd be very grateful if someone could help me achieve this goal.

I have same problem with my son's iPod Touch running iOS 5.1.1. I set "explicit" to off, but then many songs we purchased on iTunes that are labeled as "clean" do not show up on his iPod Touch. If I set "explicit" to on, they do show up.
