GL Account taking wrong Functional Area while posting

Hello All,
IN GL account master records for one GL account there is functional area assigned D110 but While posting made to this accounts its taking Another Functional area D220
Please let me know whether any one has faced same issue

  • SRM creates purchase requisition with wrong functional area

    Hi,
    We face the situation that we have postings to wrong functional Areas. These postings belong to a PO related GR. The PO originates  to a purchase Requisition. The functional area is can see there iw wrong, too. This seems the initial problem. If I create a PR using the same cost center and account it derives the correct funtional area. The PR is created out of SRM.
    We upgraded this year to EhP6 and it seems the issues started shortly after.
    Any idea how to correct?

    Hope your BAdI is working now.
    MD51 is used for project. It creates replenishment orders against a WBS element. After this, you can run MD01 which will create replenishment order by material/plant level.

  • Postings in wrong Functional Area

    Hi,
    I have a complicated scenario, i have a service purchase order for a cost center C111 which as a Functional Area F101, during invoice i had changed the cost center to C222 and changed the Functional Area to F101, where the cost center C222 belongs to F202 functional area. The postings have done been and payments was made to the vendor. Now in cost center and profit center report with functional area shows wrong value meaning it should showed as cost center C222 and FA F202, but now the costing reports is incorrect with comibination of C222 and F202
    Now how can i make correction postings, logically the amount should be posted to C222 with F202. I tried in manual reposting and several other options, but failed. We are in ECC 5.0.
    Can somebody help me out in solving this issue.

    Check whether its their any link b/w cost center categories and functional area .
    cost center categories to Functional areas , this is the menu path: SPRO>IMG>Controlling> Cost Center Accounting> Master Data> Cost Center > Define Cost Center Categories
    and check these categories are mentioned in masters.

  • Checking for business area while posting

    i have to check for business areas balancing during posting document
    eg., when we get interest income from a bank account under business area X it should be credited to an account with same business area X.
    Dr Bank - X
    Cr Interest income - Y
    this should not occur
    so user wants to get a error message when the business areas does not match.
    Can any one tell how this can be done?(does fi validations help in this?)

    YOu can do it by using the exits/BADIs available with your transaction. Inside the enhancement you can write the code for comare and message.
    What is the transaction you use for that? Try for Exits in trnsaction SMOD and BADIs in transaction SE18.

  • G/L Account - Field for Functional Area in IDoc?

    I'm experimenting with creating G/L Account data outside of SAP using IDoc's (GLMAS01).  However, I'm having trouble finding a field in that IDoc for the Functional Area of the account.  Is anyone familiar with this IDoc, and know whether or not there is a standard field for "Functional Area" or if I have to extend the IDoc?

    Have you tried the field FUNC_AREA on segment E1SKA1M?
    You could use WE60 to display the definition of GLMAST01 Idoc and look for the fields and segments on the document.

    I have posted delivery of 20 CAN correctly. But when i posted J1IJ qty updated 1.167 CRT means 14 CAN.

  • Transfer posting from functional area A to functional area B

    When running the F.50 transaction some currency gain/loss postings have been posted to the wrong functional area. Can somebody help me how I can do a transfer posting from one functional area to another if it's possible? Or do you know another solution to this issue?

  • Functional Area for WBS Element

    Hi Friends
    While posting Invoices in SRM 7.0 for WBS elements the Functional Area is sometimes picked up from WBS element directly and sometimes from Responsible Cost Center of the WBS.
    Also in cases when we have split account assignment with CC and WBS elements then many times only the COST Center Functional Area is passed for all the account assignment split.
    E.G. we have 1 line item with 10000 value and Account Assignment is split in 4 parts 1 CC and 3 WBS element. For this functional are of the Cost Center is passed for all four account assignments rather than passing 4 different functional areas based on each cost element.
    Can someone help me understand how the standard functionality works or is there any specific condition in which the responsible cost center Functional Area is picked up instead of WBS element Functional Area.
    There are some documents where in case of split accounts system is passing separate functional area for each account assignment. So i am not able to conclude what is the standard function to determine Functional Area.

    Hi Akash,
    The scenario you mentioned is correct it will pick up the CC functional area in case there is no functional are on WBS but in our case that is not the case. For all the WBS we have the functional area maintained but still some times the functional area is picked up from responsible cost center of the WBS.
    The problem is we are not able to replicate this in Q or D environment. The documents posted by users in production are pointing to some wrong Functional Area and its not correct.

    Hi All,
    We are using Functional Area in ECC mapping it to Cost Centers. However, we are facing 2 issues:
    1. In case the CC is changed in the document before posting the document, SAP does not re-determine FA. This can be overcome by manually deleting the FA while changing the CC. However, please suggest if we can have an automated way (tried substitution but it does not seem to work).
    2. There are some already posted which have incorrect FA. How can these docs be corrected? Tried using the program RFCORRFA to correct but this erases the FA but does not determine the correct FA.
    Any suggestion for the two issues?

    Per documentation of RFCORRFA (below), it should do the necessary fix. Please debug/check CC-FA assignments. Else would raise the issue with SAP support.

  • Functional Area determination in MIRO postings

    We are on ECC 5.0
    We had A/P invoices were posted via MIRO where the account assignment was changed. 
    Right now we have:
    -Functional areas defined in all cost center master records.
    -Functional areas defined for a select group of balance sheet accounts.
    -Configured a special PO type Z to allow POs to be created against balance sheet accounts
    The scenario is this:
    When the account assignment of a PO is changed during MIRO invoice entry, it seems as though the functional area is still being derived off of the original account assignment.  So it posts it to the right cost center, wrong functional area.
    Is there a way to have MIRO re-derive the functional area during invoice entry?
    Also, when I tried to correct the issue through a manual journal entry via FB50, I received the error message: "
    An entry in field Functional Area is not permitted for account 732000." Message no. F5394
    Does anyone know what might cause this error message?  I tried to change the field status group for that GL account by making functional area optional and tried the je again with the same error message. 
    Any idea how to correct the prior mispostings?

    Hi,
    i did nt understand what s functional area determination ! can you pls explain further. If you are talking about sales area then yes if the customer belongs to more than one sales area the system would give a pop up and you can select what you want.
    you can also change later to the sales area required provided no subsequent processing of the sales order has taken place.

There is no depreciation area of this type defined for depreciation area 01"
    I had made all settings what the error says above but still error persists.

    I am getting the below message and the system is asking me to reset the co code 1000 since i am changing the currency in depreciation area 15.
    You cannot change the currency type in chart of deprec. 1000
        Message no. AC488
    Diagnosis
        You tried to change depreciation area 15 in company code 9000 and chart
        of depreciation 1000 in order to manage parallel currencies.
        However, assets with values already exist in depreciation area 15.
        Therefore, you cannot change the currency type in depreciation area 15.
    Procedure
        If your company code has test status, you can reset the company code and
        all the asset values in it.
    Please advice how do i proceed

    Hi Venkat,
    Create a New Depreciation area with APC Values and Depn values identical to Value 01.
    Then goto valuation> currencies
    Specify the Use of Parallel Currencies> and assign the currency type and valuation view to the new depn area. tick the identical values
    then goto
    Define Depreciation Areas for Foreign Currencies> give the parallel currency against the depn area
    Now try doing the transaction.
    Please revert back if you still have any issues.
