Go back to previous location after linking to another page in the same document

I have set up links in a pdf file and would like to have the form go to the page view attached to the link and then return to the location that initiated the link. I usually use bookmarks to move around pdf forms, but the user didn't want to see the bookmarks and wanted the look of html. Please let me know how I can link to a location and then go back where I came from.

I am trying to link from within the text of my book to another page in the same iBook. How do I do that in iBooks Author?
For example...
The text on page 1 might read.... "If you'd like to jump to the page on herbivores, click here". And that text would be linked to page 49, which is about herbivored.

It looks like I figured this out by playing around with it.
The reason that I couldn't bookmark the text earlier is that I had created a text box and entered text in there. When you create a text box, that text is not recognized by the bookmark widget. However when you type directly into the page template itself, it recognizes the text just fine. I'm able to set bookmarks and then link to those bookmarks using the hyperlink featuer. Looks like it's solved, I was just trying to use the wrong tool for text entering.

Creating a database link to another schema in the same database

Hello,
I'm trying to create a database link to another schema in the same database. It was created without errors, but when I try to use it I receive "ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified" message...
I'm trying to do it because on my production enviroment the databases are separated, so there I can use database links without problem, but in my development environment it's all in one database separated by schemas...
So I'm trying to simulate the same system to not need to rewrite the query every time I move from development to production environment.
Any ideas?

Yes, you can create a database link to your own database. I've done it before for exactly the same reason you want to.
(By the way, I think it's a good reason. What are the alternatives?
Having different versions of code for Development and Production? Absolutely not! Terrible idea!
Using synonyms or substitution variables that are set differently in the different databases? That might be more efficient than a database link, but efficiency probably isn't such a big issue in Development.
[Conditional compilation|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/appdev.111/b28370/fundamentals.htm#sthref250]? This might be good; it has all the efficienty of the above options, with more clarity.)
Assuming you do want to stick with a database link, not all errors are caught when you create the link.
Is the Development database in the tnsnames.ora file of the Development server? Do you have other database links, either in the Development server or pointing to it, that work? What is different about the ones that work, and the one that doesn't?

The more I think about this, the more I agree with the earlier respondent: synonymns are a good solution for this.
To that suggestion you replied:

In Development, that synonym is defined as schema.table.

Why are you "looking for an option to use the second way"?
If you think that people reading the code should realize that the query is being done via a database link (at least in Production), then add a comment.

You can log out of an account (you can't 'cancel' an account) by tapping on it in Settings > iTunes & App Store - any content that you downloaded with that account will remain tied to that account. You can then create a new account via the Create New Apple ID button on that screen. Unable to return from a column link to popup page in the same window

Using 3.2
I have a tabform with a link to a pop-up page (and passing values). It's working fine but when I 'Save' on the pop-up, instead of returning to the originating page, it opens up a new window with the originating page on it. How do I get back to the originating page? I'm sure it's in my branch or button url syntax but can't figure it out. I tried creating a process to 'close window' but still opens up a new window.
FYI - if I just do the 2nd page as a normal page, all is fine but the users would prefer a popup.

Use the template 'Popup' for your page.
Create a After Submit Process and select the option 'Close Window'. Make sure this is the last process (highest sequence number). This will automatically closes the popup window and user will be on the parent page.
Do not create any branches on the popup page or any target in your Save button.
If you need to refresh the parent page with the information entered on the popup page, enter the following code, at the end, in the process that does your DML (a process that comes before the Close Window process).

I have created popups this way and they work, at least in 3.2version. In APEX 4.0, the parent page is not refreshing with the data entered on the popup page, which I'm currently investigating into. If you have a different code to refresh the parent page, please share it with me.

That is a live link, but it is the label for an accordian drop down box
THE PROBLEM IS THIS
If you click on the link part, you get taken to the other page,
I need to somehow separate the link from the drop down information

You can use the accordion label as intro text and then container would include the detailed format of content.

Creating a link to another sheet within the same file in Numbers

I have a spreadsheet in Numbers that contains many detail sheets with a seperate Summary sheet.
I want to be able to click on an entry (within a cell) in the summary sheet and (just like a hyperlink) it take me to the detail sheet of that name.
There is a hyperlink option within the Inspector, but it is only to goto a url or email message.
Can anyone help, or is this a request I should make for the next version?

New features means new high version num.
Version 1 for instance was updated as version 1.0.2 then 1.0.3
At this time we just got the upgrade to version 2
Some day we will get an update to version 2.0.2 with oddities corrections.
Maybe later we will get an update to version 2.0.3 with other corrections.
For new features we will have to wait for the upgrade to version 3 included in what I named NiWork '10.

I think I have a brain fog right now. Cause I can't figure this out.
I would like to link to another page in the same application by way of just an arbitrary word in a paragraph.
I am not trying to pass any values. I am not using a button or a text item.
How can I make a link out of a word?

I imagine myself, that you have a html text and you want to have a hyperlink to another page in your application.
For instance you have a text like: "I want to create a hyperlink to a page"
Now, if your mouse passes the word "hyperlink", you want to see that magic 'hand'.
First copy the URL of the target page: something like this -> "http://127.0.0.1:8080/apex/f?p=100:2:3122716493255005::NO:::"
Than change your html text in this way:
I want to create a hyperlink to a page

Calendar Day Link to Another Page

I have a Page which has Date as LOV with Submit With Select (This is Page 10)
e.g. User selects a date, report is displayed based on date selected. This is done using Select list with Submit. Date is populated using LOV based on query. The default value of date is Maximum of date in on of my date column.
The above think works great. No problem so far.
I want to create calendar view which is another page (This is Page 20) .
Calendar is created using Calendar wizard. In Calendar, I want to link Day to above Page. I can create day link which links back to Page 10 and also report data is displayed based on date selected in Calendar.
Now, the problem: The problem is value of Date field on above page (Page 10) is always set to default value. Although, I have said that default value should only set when session state is NULL.
So my question is why Date (Display value) is not set to value passed from Calendar Page. I have checked Session info and correct value of date is present.
What should I do to correct this problem ?
The other question is :
How to disable calendar day link when there is no data to be displayed ? At present, as soon as I create a Day link, all the Days in Calendar are linked, what I want is, to hightlight/clickable which has only some data.
How should I do this ?

Instead of using the Day Link feature, you can create a link in the SQL query for the calendar region. This will accomplish both of your goals: It will pass the value to your other page, and it will only appear for days where there is a value.
If you look at the Orders page of the sample application, you'll see that the SQL for the calendar is :

The query returns two columns: The value to display, and a date. In this case, the value to display is a link to another page. The link passes a value for the P29_ORDER_ID value.

Link to open up in the same tab

Hello all, and Merry Christmas!
OK so I have a Flash file in my website that contains a link to another page on the site. However at the moment when I click it, the new link opens up in a new tab, rather than the same tab which I would like to happen.
I have made a "test" page with just the Flash file I'm referring to so you can view the code here:

As you can see, it is the "enter" button that opens up a new link in a new tab. Are there any alterations I could make to the code and/or any new parameters I could put in place so that the link opens up in the same tab?

How to Link another JSP Page in the same portal component

Hi Guys,
I am a new guy to SAP, currently, I want to add href link to another JSP in the same component, so I used <a href="<%=webpath%>/jsp/AboutPage.jsp">, but obviously, the link can not display target page due to privilege restriction, does anyone know how to resolve this problem? thanks very much!

   Sorry for late response, too busy yesterday.
   Currently, I want to create a URL link in the page which links another JSP page in the same portal component, but the problem is this JSP page is under PORTAL-INF folder, so due to privilege problem, I can not create the link like the following:
<a href="jsp/test.jsp">Link</a>
   I konw if I move test.jsp out of folder PORTAL-INF, the above way should work, but then, I found the JSP page can not access componentRequest and get resource bundle object.
Am I clear, please let me know, thanks!

Can somebody please confirm that Numbers does NOT offer the possiblity to have a hyperlink linking to another sheet within the same workbook?
I have a few switchers at my office who couldn't get it to work, and I couldn't find any info about it either, so now they have to work in Office 2003 within Windows, just because of this

In the current version of Numbers, hyperlinks are limited to opening web pages in browsers & email messages in email client applications. Even if a new, enhanced version honored a wider range of URL's, say of the "file://" type, they would probably open a new window in an appropriate application.
As I don't believe individual sheets in a Numbers document have URL's (or URI's?), it is unlikely that an enhanced hyperlink feature would be suitable for what you want to do.
You can, of course, quickly move between sheets by clicking on their names in the "Sheets" pane, so perhaps a combination of descriptive sheet names & text boxes in selected sheets saying something like "Click 'Sales' to see more' would be an acceptable workaround.

May you please elaborate... How are you creating the pdf documents (procedure, software, etc.)? How are you inserting links into your documents?... etc., etc.

Is Acrobat Pro right for us. We have an Employee Handbook that needs editing. Some is current pdf, some from an older version. Want to get all into one handbook, have the table of contents automatically adjust and link to specific pages from the ToC.

You can download the trial version (http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-downloads.html) to convert the PDF back to WORD if you do not have the original. The conversion may not be perfect, but it is typically better than starting from scratch. You may be lucky and get a good result. You might check the settings (in the save screen) to try retain format versus retain text flow. The format version can be a pain to edit since it creates a bunch of text boxes. The flow version may require you to reformat in WORD, but you likely would want to do that anyway.
