Gonzalo - What proxy parameters are valid?

Gonzalo or anyone else that knows for sure, can you tell me what proxy.cfg parameters are valid for NBM 3.9 SP1? Can I assume that if a parameter doesn't show up in the Proxy Console Screen 63, then it is not valid for 3.9 SP1?
For instance, in TID 3988333 (which is supposed to apply for NBM 3.9 at least), it mentions the 'AckWithNoDataOnSYN' parameter as follows:
AckWithNoDataOnSYN=1
// Browser gets 504 gateway timeout error accessing web server through proxy, because Proxy use TCP connections to the origin server piggyback the final ACK from the 3 way TCP handshake, with the HTTP GET request. Which deny by some type of origin web server.
//Set to 1 to prevent the problem, Also applied updated TCPIP stack. (default=0)
However, regardless of whether you set this parameter to 0 or 1, it does not show up on Proxy Console 63. Can I assume then that the fix for the problem this addresses has been encorporated into the code and therefore this parameter is no longer needed in 3.9 SP1?
IgnoreDuplicateChill is another one. In the above TID, it says:
IgnoreDuplicateChill=1 (0 to disable) (Default=1)
//Prevents many abends. Enabled by default in PXY012 build and later.
But this parameter also doesn't show up in Proxy Console Screen 63 regardless of whether it is set to 0 or 1. So has the fix been incorporated into the code and this parameter is irrelevant?
The reason this is important to understand has to do with troubleshooting. If you put in a parameter and you don't see it on Proxy Console Screen 63, then is that becuase you mis-typed the parameter or because it is not a valid parameter for this version of BorderManager?
Any thoughts?

I can't speak for Gonzalo on this, but I'm guessing that the answer is
'probably'. I worry that a setting which is important didn't make it
into the screen for some reason, and that perhaps it still works. (I
doubt it though - that screen is pretty new, and I think support put it
in there to see all the settings that matter. But it might be that
newer settings don't show up, if the code for that screen isn't checked
against later patches. )

  • How to find NLS_LANG parameters are valid

    Hi,
    I have Oracle Application Server 10g installed in Linux machine A.
    and i have installed Oracle Database 10g installed on linux machine B.
    now i have Developer Suite installe in my Windows XP machine and i have developed a fmb file. now i want to compile the fmb file in linux machine A and run the fmx file so the form can access data from database from machine B.
    now i get errors while trying to compile the fmb file and i believe it is because NLS_LANG parameters are not set correctly on either or both machine A, B
    how can i find whether the NLS_LANG are valid.
    and if not valid, how to fix it and fix them to what valid values?
    Can someone help me please.
    Thanks in advance,
    Philip.

    Try this:
    Applies to:
    Oracle Forms - Version: 9.0.4.0
    HP-UX PA-RISC (32-bit)
    Symptoms
    Using f90gen to compile Forms modules generates errors:
    FRM-91500: Unable to start/complete the build.
    F90genm compiles without errors.
    Cause
    The problem is caused by Bad Magic Number for a Shared Library and the missing NLS_LANG variable in the f90gen.sh.
    Solution
    Steps
    ~~~~~
    1. cd $ORACLE_HOME/bin
    chatr +s enable f90gen
    Basically, "chatr" enables or disables LD_LIBRARY_PATH and SHLIB_PATH for the executables.
    2. Set LD_LIBRARY_PATH as follows :
    $ORACLE_HOME/lib:$ORCLE_HOME/jdk/jre/lib/PA_RISC/server:/usr/lib/X11R6:/usr/dt/lib:/usr/lib/
    Set SHLIB_PATH as follows :
    $ORACLE_HOME/lib32:$ORACLE_HOME/forms90/lib:$ORCLE_HOME/jdk/jre/lib/PA_RISC/server:/opt/java1.4/lib:/usr/lib:/usr/dt/lib
    The installation of 10g on HP-UX 64 bit contains two "lib" areas.
    $ORACLE_HOME/lib32 - 32 bit libs
    $ORACLE_HOME/lib - 64 bit libs
    Both of these directories contain libraries of the same name. To ensure that 32 bit executables will be used : Search the 32 bit library directory and set:
    $LD_LIBRARY_PATH - includes $ORACLE_HOME/lib, but not $ORACLE_HOME/lib32
    $SHLIB_PATH - includes $ORACLE_HOME/lib32, but not $ORACLE_HOME/lib
    3. Set a valid value for the NLS_LANG variable.
    eg:
    $export NLS_LANG=AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8ISO8859P1
    4. Verify that the TERM and ORACLE_TERM are set to vt220. If not, set these variables:
    $export TERM=vt220
    $export ORACLE_TERM=vt220
    I believe Linksys follows wireless standards. And yes, to avoid brute force, you will need a random password that long but if you're using the router for home use, it might be too much.
  • What are valid and invalid email address characters
    What are valid and invalid email address characters in Exchange 2010, for example can you have Conan.O'[email protected] is there a document that shows the valid and invalid sysmbols?
    Hi
        The format of email addresses is
    local-part@domain where the local-part may be up to 64 characters long and the
    domain name may have a
    maximum of 253 characters - but the maximum 256 characters length of a forward or reverse path restricts the entire email address to be no more than 254 characters.<sup id="cite_ref-0">[1]</sup>
    The formal definitions are in RFC 5322 (sections 3.2.3
    and 3.4.1) and RFC 5321 - with a more readable form given in
    the informational RFC 3696<sup id="cite_ref-1">[2]</sup>
    and the associated errata.
    Local part
    The local-part of the email address may use any of these
    ASCII characters
    RFC 5322 Section
    3.2.3:
    Uppercase and lowercase English letters (a–z, A–Z) (ASCII: 65-90, 97-122)
    Digits
    0 to
    9 (ASCII: 48-57)
    Characters
    !#$%&'*+-/=?^_`{|}~ (ASCII: 33, 35-39, 42, 43, 45, 47, 61, 63, 94-96, 123-126)
    Character
    . (dot, period, full stop) (ASCII: 46) provided that it is not the first or last character, and
    provided also that it does not appear two or more times consecutively (e.g. [email protected] is not allowed.).
    Special characters are allowed with restrictions. They are:
    o
    Space and
    "(),:;<>@[\] (ASCII: 32, 34, 40, 41, 44, 58, 59, 60, 62, 64, 91-93)
    The restrictions for special characters are that they must only be used when contained between quotation marks, and that 3 of them (The
    space, backslash \ and
    quotation mark " (ASCII: 32, 92, 34)) must also be preceded by a backslash
    \ (e.g.
    A quoted string may exist as a dot separated entity within the local-part, or it may exist when the outermost quotes are the outermost characters of the local-part
    (e.g. abc."defghi"[email protected] or
    "abcdefghixyz"@example.com are allowed. Conversely,
    abc"defghi"[email protected] is not; neither is
    abc\"def\"[email protected]). Quoted strings and characters however, are not commonly used.
    RFC 5321 also
    warns that "a host that expects to receive mail SHOULD avoid defining mailboxes where the Local-part requires (or uses) the Quoted-string form".
    The local-part "postmaster" is treated specially - it is case-insensitive, and should be forwarded to the server's administrator. Technically all other local-parts
    are case sensitive, therefore [email protected] and [email protected] specify different mailboxes. However most organizations treat uppercase and lowercase letters as equivalent, and also do not allow use of the technically valid characters
    (space, ? and ^). Organizations are free to restrict the forms of their own email addresses as desired, e.g.,
    Windows Live Hotmail,
    for example, only allows creation of email addresses using alphanumerics, dot (.), underscore (_)
    and hyphen (-).<sup id="cite_ref-2">[3]</sup>
    Systems that send mail must be capable of handling outgoing mail for all valid addresses. Contrary to the relevant standards, some defective systems treat certain
    legitimate addresses as invalid and fail to handle mail to these addresses. Hotmail, for example, refuses to send mail to any address containing any of the following standards-permissible characters:
    !#$%*/?^`{|}~
    Domain part
    The domain name part of an email address has to conform to strict guidelines: it must match the requirements for a
    hostname,
    consisting of letters, digits, hyphens and dots. In addition, the domain part may be an
    IP address
    literal, surrounded by square braces, such as jsmith@[192.168.2.1], although this is rarely seen except
    in email spam.
    Examples
    Valid email addresses
    <tt>[email protected]</tt>
    <tt>[email protected]</tt>
    <tt>[email protected]</tt>
    <tt>much."more\ unusual"@example.com</tt>
    <tt>very.unusual."@"[email protected]</tt>
    <tt>very."(),:;<>[]".VERY."very@\\\ \"very"[email protected]</tt>
    Invalid email addresses
    <tt>Abc.example.com</tt> (an @ character must separate the local and domain parts)
    <tt>[email protected]</tt> (character dot(.) is last in local part)
    <tt>[email protected]</tt> (character dot(.) is double)
    <tt>A@b@[email protected]</tt> (only one @ is allowed outside quotation marks)
    <tt>a"b(c)d,e:f;g<h>i[j\k][email protected]</tt> (none of the special characters in this local part
    is allowed outside quotation marks)
    <tt>just"not"[email protected]</tt> (quoted strings must be dot separated, or the only element making
    up the local-part)
    <tt>this is"not\[email protected]</tt> (spaces, quotes, and backslashes may only exist when within
    quoted strings and preceded by a slash)
    <tt>this\ still\"not\\[email protected]</tt> (even if escaped (preceded by a backslash), spaces, quotes,
    and backslashes must still be contained by quotes)
  • What are Validation and simulator
    can any one explain what are Validation and Simulators are ???
    what is there importance and how they work in SAP ??
    Regards,
    Milindkumar
    Are you referring to validation rules and simulations? Whereby validations allow the checking of values and combinations of data as they are being entered in SAP. Because the data is validated before it is posted, only correct information enters the system. For example if you have a cost center X that should not post to account Y. You create a validation that checks to see if cost center X is entered whether the account is Y. If the account is Y the validation will stop the entry from being made.
    Simulations normally are when data is checked for accuracy or verfied before posting. Simulations usually allow the verification of data by displaying that entries that will post or will be created only after the post button or process occurs.
    Any help will be appreciated.
    The problem may be that you are setting your report date parameters as a string when you pass the value to the report.   If the JRC does not recognize the parameter value as the correct type, it will throw the error you see when trying to pass them to the report.
    If they are a date type or a date time type in the report, they must be set as such using the Java Calendar object.
    Below is an example of how one would pass a date parameter to a report:
    //DATE VALUE PARAMETER.
         Calendar calendar = Calendar.getInstance();
         calendar.clear();
         calendar.set(2004, 1, 17);
         Date dateParamVal = calendar.getTime();
         pfieldDate.setName("dateParam");
         pfieldDVDate.setValue(dateParamVal);
         //Add the parameter field values to the Values collection object.
         vals5.add(pfieldDVDate);
         //Set the current Values collection for each parameter field.
         pfieldDate.setCurrentValues(vals5);
         //Add each parameter field to the Fields collection.
         //The Fields object is now ready to be used with the viewer.
         parameterFields.add(pfieldDate);
         //DATE-TIME VALUE PARAMETER.
         Calendar calendar2 = Calendar.getInstance();
         calendar2.clear();
         calendar2.set(2002, 5, 12, 8, 23, 15);
         Date dateTimeParamVal = calendar2.getTime();
         pfieldDateTime.setName("dateTimeParam");
         pfieldDVDateTime.setValue(dateTimeParamVal);
         //Add the parameter field values to the Values collection object.
         vals6.add(pfieldDVDateTime);
         //Set the current Values collection for each parameter field.
         pfieldDateTime.setCurrentValues(vals6);
         //Add each parameter field to the Fields collection.
         //The Fields object is now ready to be used with the viewer.
         parameterFields.add(pfieldDateTime);
         //TIME VALUE PARAMETER.
         Calendar calendar3 = Calendar.getInstance();
         calendar3.clear();
         calendar3.set(2002, 5, 12, 13, 44, 59);
         Date timeParamVal = calendar3.getTime();
         pfieldTime.setName("timeParam");
         pfieldDVTime.setValue(timeParamVal);
         //Add the parameter field values to the Values collection object.
         vals7.add(pfieldDVTime);
         //Set the current Values collection for each parameter field.
         pfieldTime.setCurrentValues(vals7);
         //Add each parameter field to the Fields collection.
         //The Fields object is now ready to be used with the viewer.
         parameterFields.add(pfieldTime);
  • BPEL to JDE 811, parameters are passed as zero
    Hi,
    We have finished all configuration from Adapter Installation guide as well as from User's guide.
    When we are making a call from our BPEL to JDE 811 functions,
    1) For the functions that are not having any parameters (e.g. GetAuditInfo), are returning correct outputs or say valid response. but
    2) When we make a call to function that are having parameters (e.g. GetYearDescription, GetEffectiveAddress), the values of the parameters are being passed as zero. Or JDE is sending responses like the parameters we passed were absolute zero.
    like for GetYearDescription, i'm giving following XML as input,
    <soap:Envelope xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
    <soap:Body xmlns:ns1="http://xmlns.oracle.com/JDE_SERVICE2">
    <ns1:jdeRequest type="callmethod">
    <callMethod name="GetYearDescription" runOnError="no">
    <params>
    <param name="mnCalendarYear">95</param>
    </params>
    <onError abort="yes"/>
    </callMethod>
    </ns1:jdeRequest>
    </soap:Body>
    </soap:Envelope>
    But instead of 1995, we are getting response as 2000 as parameter values is somehow passed as zero.
    We have checked on JDE side and tested above functions are working OK.
    Can anybody help us and say why the values are being treated as zero.
    Thanks,
    Nirav
    Hi,
    Thanks for the response, but I'm still facing the issue.
    As you suggested, I configured my Application Explorer for Attribute Style and get connected. I generated the WSDL and Schema for GetYearDescription. I created the BPEL process and again gave the input as I mentioned above, but it is still giving me 2000 as output. Am'I following the correct process ?
    Invoke Audit Trail from BPELConsole for after running the process is as below :
    <messages><Invoke_1_GetYearDescription_InputVariable><part xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" name="input_GetYearDescription"><jdeRequest type="callmethod" session="" xmlns="urn:iwaysoftware:jde/services/JDEJAVA_CMFGBASE/B3000260/GetYearDescription">
    <onError abort="yes"/>
  • SSRS,MDX- Passed parameters are not hitting the main query in Dataset
    I have created a SSRS report which has to accept two parameters i.e., store name, Date(to show sales on particular date) in report. which are working fine for me. but, those passed parameters are not hitting the main query in main Dataset. what ever i
    pass in parameters, it is displaying all the rows(every city values). i think i am not correct in creating the statement in  Main dataset query, to receive those 2 parameters into the main query. can anybody please help me how to create the statement
    in main date set to display the results for the exact parameter i am passing(which has to be in MDX).
    ram
    Hi ramprasad74,
    According to your description, you want to use parameter in the report, then after parameter values are selected, corresponding data will be displayed in the report. But the parameters do not work and all the rows are displayed.
    To pass parameter to main report dataset, we need to define parameter for MDX query and assign parameter name same as SSRS report parameter. For detail information, please refer to the following steps:
    Create a Dataset to retrieve data for Store name parameter.
    Create Store name parameter, type name and prompt, set Date type to Text, check Allow multiple values check box, then select get values from the dataset.
    Create a Dataset for Date parameter.
    Create Date parameter, type name and prompt, set Date type to Date/Time, then select get values from the dataset.
    Create a new dataset used to retrieve data for the report, add statement like below to the mdx query: {STRTOMEMBER(@Date)} * {STRTOSET (@Store_name)}.
    In Query Designer pane, click Query Parameters and assign parameter name same as SSRS report parameter.
    For more information about SSRS Report with Single and Multi Selection Parameter using MDX Query, please refer to the following blog:
  • Adobe Acrobat Standard 9.5 Install Error:  "Error applying transforms please ensure specified transform paths are valid".  Any ideas on how to fix this?
    I had Acrobat Standard 9.5 on a laptop that broke.  Adobe Acrobat Standard is paid for and all I need. I had to get a new PC (Windows 8.1) and I did downloaded Standard 9.5 but when I went to install it the installer gave me an “Error applying transforms please ensure specified transform paths are valid”.  Any ideas on how to fix this?
    Rahul,
    No error numbers other than the message I mentioned previously.
    I tried the transforms repair and it reported no Acrobat product (correct, none yet installed) or no administrative privileges (I am the administrator and have done previous administrative actions).
    When I unzip the Acrobat file this is what is in the setup ini file:
    Thoughts?
