Today's update seems to have modified the interface for the search engine bar to icons rather than a list. Is there any way I can change it back?

I know everyone says they "hate" changes to familiar interfaces at first before growing accustomed to them, but I just personally don't care for the icon-tray look in anything I use (it seems to defeat at least some of the point of using Internet on an actual computer rather than on a mobile phone). I also sort of have a lot of search engines up there, not all of which I can immediately recognize by icon. I know it's a minor inconvenience, but having to scroll over an icon to see the name of its associated search engine is pretty annoying after being used to having a nice list that just told you all of their names. Any way that I can change it back to the old list-interface?

Modifying the record in the extractor.

Hi gurus,
i am a BW developer. i have one requirement, i have to enhance some fields from table MSEG to my generic extractor.
In my extractor structure, Material, Plant and Order number is the key fields. i am selecting some fields from MSEG table into internal tables and doing some calculation on that fields and finally i have to enhance those records into my extractor.
material, plant and ordernumber are the key fields. in my internal table i have 2 records and in my extractor i have only one record for particular combination of keys.
example:
in my internal table:
material plant odernumber quantity week
0980009 1800 2000125    500   200702
0980009 1800 2000125    453   200704
in my extractor:
( quantity and week are the enhanced fields)
material plant ordernumber quantity week
0980009 1800 2000125
in my code: while enhancing the fields to extractor, i have modifying the existing record. so that i am getting only the second record in my extractor.
like 0980009 1800 2000125 453 200704
and i cannot append the record into my extractor, because for example for this combination of key if have 100 records in my extractor it is adding all the 100 records instead of one record.
Can any one suggest me how can enhance these records into my extractor.
Any help is greatly appriciatable. Thanks in advance.

Modify the Overview tab in WebDynpro Based ESS

Hi All,
The Overview tab of the ESS generally displays 8 Area Pages.Our requirement is we should show only two Area Pages.
What is the standard procedure proposed by SAP for achieving this?
To achieve this we have created a custom Area Page group in SAP, assigned Area Pages to this group.
After that we have copied the standard ESS role and Standard Overview Iview.We have modified the property "Application Parameter" of Overview iview.Then we assigned the Overview iview to the Copied ESS role.
Now we are successfully seeing only two Area pages in the Overview of tab of new ESS role.
But when we click the link Employee Search the control is going to the Emloyee Search tab of the Stanard role.
But we want the control to be in the new ESS role.
Any clue in this regard will be helpful.

to achieve the same i copied the "PCD Location" value in the "URL for PCD page" of the area. But it didn't move to the new role..
But unfortunately i made some changes..(exactly i didn't remember). These changes caused the problem.
Now two areas(employee search and benefit&payment) from "standard role" are not appearing in the portal as well as in my copied role. its giving the error stating that Area "EMPLOYEE_SEARCH" not found...

Some of those permissions are not supported by a dynamic form. Also those permissions do not apply to the native XDP format but they are used and applied to the PDF when it is created.

I am having an issue with a system, which is throwing a really odd error message. When the user tries to modify the AD group, they receive the following error message:
“You do not have permission to modify the group”, which is then followed by what appears to be Chinese or Japanese characters. In addition, the characters
randomly change, which makes me believe the characters are ASCII values or equivalent, not specific values for any coherent words provided by installed language packages.
Has anyone seen this issue before? If so can you offer any advice?

This issue can be caused due to the permissions under Security tab are modified incorrectly.
Please use delete control wizard to reassign the permissions or correct the permissions under Security tab manually.

In your post, the bind variable :P2_REPORT_SEARCH has a carriage return before the word SEARCH. Make sure this is not the case in the report.

I would try reinstalling.
Reinstall Lion, Mountain Lion, or Mavericks without erasing drive
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.

Do I have to modify the nms perl script to understand a redirect code in DW cs4

I am using DW cs4 and created a registration form on on my website that is hosted by 1and1. I am trying to use a custom "thank you" page after the user submits the form by using the redirect code in my form but i keep getting the ugly default "thank you" page gernerated by the formmail.pl script located on my cgi-bin folder. Do I need to modify the script? I let DW code for me and I used the full url of the custom thank you page I created with DW. I thought by coding with redirect the script would know what to do without needing a modification.

Modifying the sql query in doDML of entity

I am using Jdev 11.1.1.4.0 and SQLServer Database
I want to modify the sql query in "doDML(int operation, TransactionEvent e)"
I could check what kind of operation like (operation == DML_UPDATE) and do some additional stuff.. But I want to edit the query because of which we entered doDML..
I want to edit the query because when i use SQLServer database with SQLBuilder as SQL92, the update statement will have table alias like "update table <table alias>" which the SQLServer is not recognizing.. So I want to remove that alias from sql query in doDML..

It isn't possible.

How to modify the OIDDAS Create User page

I am using Portal 902 and want users to register themselves to my Portal. I've have enabled Self-Registration but the pages need much cosmetic re-work for my purposes.
I've discovered how to replace the default db generated SSO Login page with a customized JSP * AND * I wondering if I can do the same to the OIDDAS Create User page.
I've noticed that the URL for the create user page is http://thebofer.my.domain:7777/oiddas/ui/oracle/ldap/das/admin/AppCreateUserInfoAdmin.
This file (AppCreateUserInfoAdmin) is a UIX file and the only place I've found it is within "oiddas.ear" located at F:\oracle\ora9ias_portwire\ldap\das\oiddas.ear directory on my Portal host.
Can I simply unpack the EAR and get the "AppCreateUserInfoAdmin,uix" file into JDev, modify it, then re-package it into the ear and then overwrite the existing ear with this new one? Is this acceptable?
Also, I'm wondering about the location of the oiddas.ear file. Normally when I deploy to 9iAS the file usually ends up in the F:\oracle\ora9ias_portwire\j2ee\home\applications or the F:\oracle\ora9ias_portwire\Apache\Apache\htdocs. What is the proper deployment process when modifying OIDDAS UIX?

I have got a requirement for updating the infotype 0008 data using FM : HR_MAINTAIN_MASTER_DATA.
While trying to modify the wagetypes data which is of blank ..unable to upload the amount for that partcular field ..

Service Desk Mail - Modify the subject -adding ticket number and descriptio

Hello,
I have activated the automatic sending of email when a new ticket arrives into the Service Desk. I am using the standard notifcation smartform However all the mails arrive in the inbox with the same subject, so no possibility of making a quick identification of the ticket.
I heard that is possible to add additional fields in the subject of the mail using some "&" parameters. However I do not have a clue where to modify and what type of & parameters are available. Is that I need to copy and modify the smart form somewhere??

Hi Esteban,
The subject line corresponds to the name of the smart form that you can maintain in the "description" field in the sap form builder. you can add dinamyc parameters to the subject by using the placeholder "&". e.g.: & | Action Required.
On se24, copy the class CL_DOC_PROCESSING_CRM_ORDER into the customer workspace (ZCL_DOC_PROCESSING_CRM_ORDER). then edit it and navigate to line 185 and change the following:
REPLACE '&' WITH ls_orderadm_h-object_id INTO ls_output_options- tdtitle.
Other example to use as subject:
Object ID + Priority + Description
Field description value: &1 | &2 | &3
On the class:
REPLACE '&1' WITH ls_orderadm_h-object_id INTO ls_output_options- tdtitle.
REPLACE '&2' WITH ls_activity_h-priority INTO ls_output_options- tdtitle.
REPLACE '&3' WITH ls_orderadm_h-description INTO ls_output_options- tdtitle.
