"Google translate" somehow personalised a translation with my windows login name

I am at a loss as to how this occurred and see it as a security threat. I pasted "cogito ergo" into the google translate website. It didn't translate it into English until I selected Latin as the language, at which point it translated it as "Xxxxxx, thinks therefore", where Xxxxxx is my windows 7 login name. Worried, I created a new login and tried to replicate it. It didn't happen again and so far I have been unable to replicate it again.
I am not aware of a way for a website to ascertain the users login id but now I have to assume that it can be done. How I don't know, which is why I'm bringing it up here.
Is this possible and how can I stop it happening again.
I run Firefox 15 with adblock, better privacy, Ghostery and Noscript, I am also running Comdo firewall, not sure what else I can add.

Whilst it doesn't address the issue directly and I still find it difficult to put it down to coincidence, I will give DNT+ a whirl.
I remain convinced that google are far more intrusive than they let on and if I could find a search engine that came even close, I'd dump google in a heartbeat.

Somehow firefox now opens with my windows mail. Each time I enter my password it asks if I want to save it so I don't have to retype my login and password each time. I hit yes and when I leave firefox it doesn't keep my password. I would like to either

I recently went to open my windows live mail,which normally opens because it has my login and password saved. Now it opens in firefox and I have to retype my login and password everytime I open my mail. I would like when I open my mail not to have to retype my login and password as this is why I have it set up in the original windows mail anyway. So I have attempted to live with this problem by adjusting the options to save my password and when I close out of firefox and try to reopen it later in the day I have to retype my login and password again.

If anyone is reading this still looking for what caused the issue and how to fix it here is what I discovered.
The antivirus program our company uses, Bitdefender Antivirus Plus, was causing some of the PDF files not to open. After troubleshooting the different modules and settings the culprit was..
Scan SSL in Privacy Control Settings. Turning it OFF solved the problem and all the PDF files that previously would not open now open just fine. This issue has been sent to Bitdefender for them to review. If you use a different antivirus program and are having this issue try locating the Scan SSL setting and see if turning it off solves the problem.

I have a PC (Windows 7)
Not sure when mobile me changed, but it was this weekend that my storage etc. lapsed (I have paid to keep storage with icloud). So i assume this has something to with it stopping.

New problem, Lycos Mail is my home page. When I open a new window I usually get Google search, which is what I want. Now, somehow when I open a new window I get Yahoo search. How do I change it back to Google? Thank you, Randy

A new tab opens by default as a blank tab (about:blank).
If that isn't the case then an extension has changed that behavior.

You can middle-click or hold down Ctrl and left-click the Home button on the Navigation toolbar to open the Home page in a new tab.

I found my old laptop was very slow when processing the hundreds of images I usually take on a weekly basis. I bought a new faster laptop but when I looked for the cd with the software and serial I could not find it in the Xmas clutter. I downloaded a trial version of lightroom and got it working on my new laptop. Is there a way to access the serial number from my previously installed version and insert it into the trail version to make it work for me?

While i registered all my cs2 thru 6 versions and my lightroom 2 thru 4 versions and recorded the serials and saved the adobe registration emails. Since this came as a freebee with the camera i neglected this vital step. I have the instslled version on my old laptop but want to install it on my new one. Thanks to Jim Hess I got the serial so all is well in my world and I will register it with ADOBE

You changed the proper preference, but you don't need to relaunch iTunes. You do, however, need to click the blue OK button at the bottom right of the preferences window. The change will happen then.

ICal - google calendar no SMS or Message with sound

few weeks ago I found that I could not add "Message with sound" alert to my iCal's Google calendar which brings me to no SMS alerts.
Is it anything wrong with my iCal, Google calendars (I can add Message with sound to iCloud calendars) or it is something Apple/Google recently changed?
If I add Message with sound alert using iCal - it automatically disappears. However, if I add SMS alert on Google side I have SMS alerts even if it does not reflect anyhow on the corresponding iCal entry.

I'm suffering the same, but I have some more information about it. I have multiple delegates, so I have had the "good fortune" to be able to have some of them go bad and still have others to experiment with.
The ones that have gone bad are those where I made a change in iCal and then tried to refresh.
When I made changes on my google calendars I was still able to refresh in iCal and have the change show up. But as soon as I made a change in iCal, the refresh gave that error message.
Also, I just downloaded the newest OS (OS 5) for my iPod touch (gen. 3). That was yesterday afternoon.. and yesterday evening is when I first noticed this problem. I can't imagine it's simply coincidence.
I just discovered one more thing. Even the calendars that don't work both ways continue to work one way; changes made on Google Calendar continue to show up in iCal, even though the error message shows up that it can't contact the server or has the wrong address. It's almost like the relationship has turned into "subscriptions" rather than "delegates".
I have restarted my iMac and repaired permissions with no success.
