GOS - Start Workflow only if not already started

Hello friends,
Have a workflow that is started by an event. Now, there is a need to allow the users to start the same Workflow from GOS as well. Is there any way to prevent the GOS from starting the Workflow if an incomplete workflow instance exists for the object? User training is not an option

You probably mean the standard transaction so the following is not an option, but...
It is possible to call a GOS service as follows ('view attachment' service as an example)
FORM invoice_image.

    If that doesn't work, try a restart.
    Do a backup, using either Time Machine or a cloning program, to ensure files/data can be recovered. Two backups are better than one.
    Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.
    Isolating an issue by using another user account
    If the problem is still there, try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account.  Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up after waiting 10 seconds. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.

  • Rdbms start to fast, ASM not finish started

    Hi,
    i just install for the first time the new version 11G with ASM. When i reboot my server, the RDBMS start before the ASM service is not finish to start.
    At reboot start i can see the OHservice start and ASM after that, but when the RDBMS start the instance stay handle (insactive) because the LUN for the catalog of service is not avalaible yet. I can see in the log of the RDBMS the catalog segment is not existing or not found. If i wait about 3 to 5 min and restart only the RDMBS everything start without problem.
    Is there a way i can set the Window service or use the crsctl to haol the start of the RDBMS until ASM mount all the segment (LUN)?

    The problem is not the dependency of the service in window.
    The service OracleOHservice and OracleASMService are started but the segment are not avalaible yet for the RDMBS. The service Rdbms start but stay inactive because he can not acces to the catalog.
    I can see in the alert log at the Rdbms startup, he can not find the segement who containe catalog.
    How i can start the Rdbms only when the all the ASM segments are loaded (not when the service is indicated started) or how can i keep the service ASM starting until all the segment are loaded?

    so i tried emctl start dbconsole from command line

    I have just wrote this reply to another thread, take a look at it, maybe you can solve your stuff with the instructions below:

    The EM is kind of sensitive with network change's, I had a similar issue a few days ago, try to check all this parameters if it helps.
    1. Get the machine name and go to c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts and hardcode the ip address and the hostname there, you should be able to ping <hostname> and get the anwsers back from the cmd.
    2. Go in your oracle home and check if the agent is pointing to the right ip and ports. The file is on $OH\<hostname>\sysman\emd\targets.xml
    3. Go in the OEM conf file and check out if you can connect with the same exacly connection string showed in the file $OH\<hosthame>\sysman\config\emoms.properties
    You can try to put the connection string on your tnsnames.ora and try to connect to the database.
    4. The listener should be registered into the instance, so you may look at the local_listener parameter (can't remember the parameter name for sure) and check if your listener is registered.
    5. You should also look at the lsnrctl application and see if the Service the OEM is trying to reach is there, if is not, you should modify your listener.ora.
    6. Last you could try the emctl reconfigure option emca -reconfig dbcontrol db
    There are other options to re-create the repository but I never had to take that far.
    Of course there should be more places to look and some steps are not need to solve your problem but I tryed to list all the places I had to reconfigure by the time I changed my network settings.
    In my case was a production server so no reboot, shutdown or stuff like that was an option.
    By last, remember to stop the service emctl stop dbconsole and emctl stop agent before doing changes to configuration.

  • Extending wait times in Workflow (items that have already started)

    We have Order Mgt order line workflow that has multiple wait and loop activities. A number of these timeout in 2 minutes. We think that this is causing the WF BG process to run extremely long times because a processed item key times out before the process ends, causing the item to process through multiple times.
    We have an initiative open to increase the wait times for the wait nodes. However, we need to figure out a way to extend the waits for the order lines that are IN PROCESS. We tried updating the due date field on the wf_item_activity_statuses and also updated the number_value in wf_activity_attr_values. But that did not do the trick. We then found another table WF_ITEM_ACTIVITY_STATUSES_H which also holds the due date.
    I would like to find out if someone has ideas on what tables to update in order to get all the existing wait times extended from the current value to a different value.

    You need to update WF_ACTIVITY_ATTR_VALUES for the specific process activity id that is in wf_item_activity_statuses.
    But why do want to do that. Let them complete with the old default_days and the new ones can use the new value. Are there too many item keys (order lines) that are open and require processing using WBG?

  • ERP Instance start: Executabel copy: Could not be started

    Hello,
    during setup of the discovery server like described in 'SAP ESA Discovery Quick Guide' the SAP Instance ERP should be started. The instance does not start because the share for the executable copy cannot be reached.
    I did not change the hostname. The hostname of the server is PREFERRE-JEC95K.
    Seems that I need to change the hostname. But the server is located in SAP Office Network. Means hostname iwdfvm2160.wdf.sap.corp is already in use.
    Any idea?

    we had exactly the same problem and had to change the server name to iwdfvm2160.wdf.sap.corp.
    It seems that the delivery/image from HP is responsible for this.
    At the moment this does not hurt us, because server is standalone, but I would desire a self chosen server name before we put the box in our network.

    Try starting up the mac in verbose mode (command-v during startup)
    This will show you everything the mac is doing during startup, and possibly show you where the mac is getting stuck
    Also try an SMC reset (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964) and see if that helps
    Another avenue to try is to hold option during boot and see if your mac can find any drives at all.
    If you have one, try booting into your original disks that came with the computer, or a lion key. That will at least show you that the computer is able to boot
    Failing all of that, your mac may need a hardware repair

  • Server admin fails to start tomcat only

    we just upgraded our server from 10.3 to 10.4. after the upgrade - the server admin tools fail to start tomcat only. sooooo when i start tomcat only service - the app says its running. but i can't connect to port 80 to show me the default page or any of my webapps.
    whats werid is that:
    it tries to startup JBoss
    instead of Tomcat.
    When I run the settings command I see:

    I've been doing a little investigating, and I think I'm seeing the cause of the problem, but I don't know how to fix it.
    When I do a "tail /var/log/servermgrd/servermgrderrorlog" on the server, I don't get normal error log lines. Instead, I get the text that you see when you type "serveradmin", namely:

  • Generic object services (GOS) - Start workflow box is allways empty

    Dear colleagues,
    i have installed a brand new IDES ERP 6.0 successfully but when entering a number of standard transactions like mm02, va03, fb03 etc and trying to execute the GOS toolbox, I can never start any workflow. I click on the 'start workflow' button of the GOS-toolboy but the selection box is allways empty. Did I miss anything? Since there are so many BOR objects that apply to the objects of the standard transactions, there should be at least something to start. For example BOR BUS1001 (material master): When in MM02, why does the GOS-toolbox for workflows not show the related workflows that use BUS1001?

    You should start a new discussion - you'll get more responses.
    Anyhoo, to make a workflow appear in the GOS 'start workflow' list, just follow these simple rules:
    - confirm which BOR object is involved in your transaction (eg BUS1001006 for MM03)
    - make sure that the BOR object is a mandatory input of your workflow
    - make sure that there are no other mandatory inputs
    - make sure that the workflow (WS*) is set to 'General Task' (nb this is client dependent)
    Once all these things are done, refresh the buffer (SWU_OBUF) and it should work.

    My iPad air would not start.  Only show the apple logo then no reaction after that.  This is already the 2nd time.  Last time I sent back to the service center and they said it is the system problem and reset the system and charge me for the service because they said it is not a hardware problem.  It happened less then 30 days and same problem again.  Can someone please send me the hard-reset step so I can try myself before I send back to the service center again?  thanks

  • Workflow created using sharepoint designer 2013 is not getting started and the initiator is Anonymous.

    Hi All,
    I have created a Site and List Workflow using SharePoint designer 2013, its a simple list workflow with one stage init on creating an item.
    When i verified the status of workflow its showing as initiator = Anonymous and Internal Status - Not started. Please a screen shot below

    list in workflow manager server  :
    1. Check https://[wfms]:12290 or http://[wfms]:12291 if they are responding 2. Check
    ”WorkflowMgmtPool” is started 3. Following services are running
    Workflow Manager Backend
    Service Bus Message Broker
    Service Bus Gateway
    Windows Fabric Host Service (FabricHostSvc)
    4. Get workflow farm information , workflow database  by  Start Workflow
    Manager PowerShell     get-WFfarm   5. Check if the Workflow Manager farm running(workflow service backend and  front end         should be rennin)  by  Start Workflow Manager
    PowerShell    get-WFfarmStatus
    6. Check oAut in accessible by http:// [wfms]:12291/$SYSTEM/$Metadata/json/1
    7. Restart the WorkflowServiceBackend service
    net stop WorkflowServiceBackend
    net start WorkflowServiceBackend

  • I have chosen a persona, but when I start up Firefox, Mozilla start page with Google shows, and persona is just barely visible only in the toolbar area. How do I get the persona to show, and not Google start-up page?

    I checked out the Mozilla Personas, saw one I liked, and added on. When I start Firefox, the Mozilla start-up page shows as usual with Google on it. The Persona I chose barely shows, and only in the Toolbars area at the top of the screen. Can I modify the start-up page to not show Google, and access Google another way, so that my Persona will show on the whole start-up page?

    If you don't like seeing Google as your home page you might want to look at [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/How+to+set+the+home+page how to set the home page] and change it.
    Finally Firefox 3.5.x will be maintained with security and stability updates until August 2010, so you might want to [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Updating+Firefox update to a newer version].

    That number is for an apple server in the UK that is used for iMessage activation.  A hidden SMS is snet to that number when you turn iMessage on and is used to verify your phone number.  I suggest you turn iMessage off.  In settings/phone turn on dial assist.  Check with your carrier to see if you can send an international SMS as you end that possibility to activate iMessage.  Rest your phone (Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the home button together until the apple logo appears (ignore the ON/OFF slider) then let both buttons go and wait for device to restart (no data will be lost).) then turn iMessage back on.
