Bea.jolt.ServiceException: Data conversion failed
Having problem with this error on Linux 6.2, Tuxedo 7.1, and JOLT 1.2.1
connecting
to SCO 5 and Tuxedo 6.5. The error in the ULOG is JSH.30085.1024.-2:
Can't map Jolt field id 167772175 to name
I read previous posts on problems with 7.1 connecting to 6.5. We have a
successful domains connection.
But, I think the problem is on the JOLT/Linux side. We received /
applied a patch that was supposed to correct this problem to no avail.
Any ideas are appreciated. This problem could be due to a number of things :-
1- The definition for your service in the repository does not have all the fields
defined that the service can return.
2- The length of the fieldname is greater than 28 characters
I believe there is now a jolt patch to get over this problem
3- Your service is defined at OUTBUF=FML32 when it is not a 32bit service or visa
versa
4- The fields file pointed to by FIELDTBLDIR and FIELDTBLS does not contain the
correct values for the field
I hope this helps

Am I missing anything? am i missing any parameter for JSL server?
I have another Tuxedo9.1 in which the bankapp was configured (by somebody years back) and i was able to run the withdrawal, inquiry services with the same client. not sure why its not working with TOUPPER service.
The simple C client (simpcl) works fine.
Please Advise.
I have whole lot of other doubts with subscribing to events. Will open a new thread for that.
Thanks,
Anish Kumar

Bea.jolt.ServiceException: Invalid Session
Good day to all!
I know that this is common problem, but if you kindly point me in the right direction, that would be more appreciated. I am currently running PT8.50 HRMS 9.1 DMO on Windows 7. The PIA is giving this error:
CHECK APPSERVER LOGS. THE SITE BOOTED WITH INTERNAL DEFAULT SETTINGS, BECAUSE OF: bea.jolt.ServiceException: Invalid Session
When logging in, I get that the app server is down. I am in familiar with why I see app server is down. I also believe that I understand why I am getting the above error. During installation, I put my own password for PTWEBSERVER as oppose to the default. I thought I updated the password with the default, but doesn't seem to work.
I also understand to check the appserver logs, but I am not familiar where it is located, so if 'I could get the location of these logs, I will post the log and that would confirm if it is a password issue, or not.
And if I need to uninstall and reinstall PIA, please tell me what I should do there. Thank you and Be BlessedThank you for that helpful tip. I misunderstood Bob's post then. I though the updating was only if the acct was locked (which it wasn't because I checked). In any rate, I did rerun the script and the script was successful. Just to be sure, I logged into datamover via bootstrap mode and just typed in exactly the command that was given. I didn't miss anything I am assuming correct?
I am still getting the same error message, even after updating the password. Here is the log, maybe this will help. Be Blessed

keep getting conversion failed on exporting files PDF.
Hi jfcobb999,
I'm sorry that you're having trouble converting files. Are you converting via the web interface, or through Adobe Reader? Do you have a large number of files in the root folder of your Files list on Acrobat.com?
Let's try these things for starters:
Clear the browser cache and try again.
Use a different browser.
Make sure that Reader is up-to-date by choosing Help > Check for Updates.
If you have a large number of files stored on Acrobat.com, move some of them into a subfolder.
Please let us know how it goes.
Best,
Sara -
Hi, My Lightroom CC is showing waiting for connection and the mobile sync is not working. I have tried deleteing lrsync data, disabling firewall, checked host file etc. Still no luck.
I had the same problem. It fixed itself when I opened Internet Explorer (I don't normally use it). I was opening Support Portal to get some support help, but I'm not sure if it was the page or simply opening IE that did the trick.

Working Linux command to grep date range in a log file
Linux Gurus,
Could you please help me with command to show only those lines in a log file which falls under some date range, probably using grep command.
Our server logs are in following format <Jun 23, 2013 12:45:02 AM UTC>
Regards,
VarunPerhaps you can do the following:
Go to Google.
Type "working Linux command to grep date range in a log file"
See what results you might get from that search. ( I did, and got more than 600,000 search results.) -

How often do log monitors check log files?
Hello all, just wondering if there was a set interval that SCOM checks log files when you set up a simple log monitor. Is there an interval somewhere I'm not seeing? Or how does that work?
Please see: https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/systemcenter/en-US/ee74e8b6-623a-41ee-abb4-54a98d017000/scom-2012-polling-interval-faster-for-monitoring-network
But not every param of monitor can be changed and it can be hardcoded in MP...and only way to change this param is to recreate MP ..
usually Param Interval (sec) or Frequency is
used to modify that property (polling interval) in overrides."
Cheers,
Martin

Logs are written in any code to find the reason for the error/warning caused by the program.
For instance, if any program is not being run, the logs comes handy in narrowing down the problem and to resolve the issues at the earliest.
Taking automatic payment run example - u have proposal and payment logs. The reasons are to find why a proposal or payment has not been happ. If such logs are not in place, user cannot find the reason and hence the solution.

Issue with Date Conversion when loading XML File into Oracle 10g Database
Hello all,
I have the interface shown in the screenshot below. In it, amongst other actions, I'm mapping an XML file element representing a date to an Oracle table column defined as DATE. The source and target columns are highlighted in the screenshot.
When I execute the interface, I get the following error message:
java.lang.IllegalArgumentException at java.sql.Date.valueOf(Date.java:103)
I'm assuming this refers to the date conversion!
I've already tried replacing SRC_TRADES.DEAL_DATE with TO_DATE( SRC_TRADES.DEAL_DATE, 'DD/MM/YYYY' ) in the Implementation tab. This function was not recognised when I executed the interface, so it didn't work! The date value in the XML file is in DD/MM/YYYY format.
I'm guessing that Oracle SQL Date functions don't work in the Implementation tab. Please could somebody let me know:
1. Which Date Conversion function I could use instead?
2. Where I can find a reference for the methods/functions I can use in the Implementation tab (if such a reference exists)?
Cheers.
JamesHi.
Try to change the execution area to staging area. After You change it, write in the mapping box just SRC_TRADERS.DEAL_DATE. When You use TO_DATE, the source field typu should be varchar2, not date (as it is in your source datastore) -
Help with Script created to check log files.
Hi,
I have a program we use in our organization on multiple workstations that connect to a MS SQL 2005 database on a Virtual Microsoft 2008 r2 Server. The program is quite old and programmed around the days when serial connections were the most efficient means
of connection to a device. If for any reason the network, virtual server or the SAN which the virtual server runs off have roughly 25% utilization or higher on its resources the program on the workstations timeout from the SQL database and drop the program
from the database completely rendering it useless. The program does not have the smarts to resync itself to the SQL database and it just sits there with "connection failed" until human interaction. A simple restart of the program reconnects itself
to the SQL database without any issues. This is fine when staff are onsite but the program runs on systems out of hours when the site is unmanned.
The utilization of the server environment is more than sufficient if not it has double the recommended resources needed for the program. I am in regular contact with the support for the program and it is a known issue for them which i believe they do not
have any desire to fix in the near future.
I wish to create a simple script that checks the log files on each workstation or server the program runs on and emails me if a specific word comes up in that log file. The word will only show when a connection failure has occurred.
After the email is sent i wish for the script to close the program and reopen it to resync the connection.
I will schedule the script to run ever 15 minutes.
I have posted this up in a previous post about a month ago but i went on holidays over xmas and the post died from my lack or response.
Below is what i have so far as my script. I have only completed the monitoring of the log file and the email portion of it. I had some help from a guy on this forum to get the script to where it is now. I know basic to intermediate scripting so sorry for my
crudity if any.
The program is called "wasteman2G" and the log file is located in \\servername\WasteMan2G\Config\DCS\DCS_IN\alert.txt
I would like to get the email side of this script working first and then move on to getting the restart of the program running after.
At the moment i am not receiving an error from the script. It runs and doesn't complete what it should.
Could someone please help?

What i am doing is searching the log file. Finding the specific words then outputting them to an email. I havent used bmail before so thats probably my problem but then im using bmail to send me the results.
Then im clearing the log file so the next day it is empty so that when i search it every 15 minutes its clean and only when an error occurs it will email me.
Could you help me send the output via email using bmail or blat?

I am checking our alert.log (windows db) for some errors.
Today's date is Jan 20, 2008. And the database has always been up running.
But the timestamp of the logfile is Jan 17, 2008 and also the
last entry (timestamp) inside it is> Thu Jan 17 03:26:42 2008
Is it possible for the DB to stop logging?
Thanks a lotFirst verify if your database is running and check the disk space where your alert.log file reside on.
