Got Verizon notice that my kid's phone made a purchase on the internet. Will that purchase be billed to my account?
I have set a family safeguard to notify me when a phone on my account makes a purchase on the internet. I'm a bit confused how this works, because shortly after Verizon texted me the first notice of an internet purchase--there have been two, my kid texted me she would pay me back for it. Nothing has appeared on my Verizon bill, and I find nothing in current usage reports about it. Is this notice just for my information about what my kid is doing? Can she charge a purchase on the internet to my Verizon account?
When I examined the notice settings on My Verizon, I saw that when Verizon notifies me of something I've requested notice about, data usage, for example, it also notifies the phone involved. That's how my kid knew I knew of of the her purchases. I'm thinking now that she misunderstood the notice she got as telling me that Verizon would bill her purchase to my account. I assumed she knew that to be true. I know suspect she made a purchase on line with her debit card and thinks she billed it to me. The good news is my kid is responsible enough to offer to pay a charge she thinks she put on my account. The bad news, for her, is she could be emptying her bank account thinking I've got it covered and she can pay me back a little at a time.
Can anyone confirm that Verizon's notice of an internet purchase via a phone on my account is unrelated to how that purchase is paid? Also--this is the fun part--should I give her a heads up that she's probably spending all of her money, or should I let her learn when she's broke that she needs to understand what she's doing when she spends money. Tough call from my point of view.

With the alrets for purchasing apps or ringtones, those alerts are normally triggered when one is billing those charges to the account. What kind of device does your daughter have? How long ago did you receive the alert? If it was within this billing cycle that you are in right now it will not show up until the billing cycle closes for the month. We can always review the account for you to double check to make sure that they are either being charged to the Verizon Wireless acccount or to your daughters bank account.

I recently spoke to someone from Apple support, and here's what I gathered:
"Older" phones (read: anything iPhone 4s or older?) sometimes have trouble keeping up with the processing demands of the newest software. When deleting threads with a lot of media (photos, videos, etc), it can take a lot of processing to successfully delete. What this support tech suggested was picking some of the bigger threads at night before you go to bed, deleting them, and then leaving the phone alone-- and plugged in-- overnight to give it enough time to delete everything. He suggested not even pressing the lock button; just leave it to process (though I imagine the screen will lock on its own anyway).
Not sure if it works yet since I just spoke to him, but it's the closest thing I've got to a solution! -
Does find my phone have a history that shows where your phone has been like in the last 24-72 hours?
All you may infer is the device hasn't been turned on where it can connect to Wi-Fi.
The phone may be jailbroken if there is no lock passcode to prevent access. However, the phone can be completely erased and restored as new. In this case you will have no ability to locate it or prevent it from being jailbroken.
What To Do If Your iDevice Is Lost Or Stolen
If you activated Find My Phone before it was lost or stolen, you can track it only if Wi-Fi is enabled on the device. What you cannot do is track your device using a serial number or other identifying number. You cannot expect Apple or anyone else to find your device for you. That number is for an apple server in the UK that is used for iMessage activation. A hidden SMS is snet to that number when you turn iMessage on and is used to verify your phone number. I suggest you turn iMessage off. In settings/phone turn on dial assist. Check with your carrier to see if you can send an international SMS as you end that possibility to activate iMessage. Rest your phone (Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the home button together until the apple logo appears (ignore the ON/OFF slider) then let both buttons go and wait for device to restart (no data will be lost).) then turn iMessage back on.

Your media is stored in Final Cut Events folder > "name of event" > original media. The Final Cut Events folder is in your movies folder or at the root level of an external drive if you are using one to store your media. Simply open iMovie and under file menu select import movies. Navigate to the original media folder and import your clips to Imovie event library.

My westel modem (that I rent from my phone provider) quit working with the internet. My airport extreme seems to be working from the dsl (phone) connection through the westel, then through the ethernet cabled to the airport extreme. Do I need the modem? Ok, so are you saying that your Internet is or isn't working? Does it work if you plug your computer directly into your computer and bypass the router (make sure you power cycle the modem when you do this)? If it is working this way, then a new modem isn't going to solve a problem with your Internet not working. If it is going slow (try running a speedtest) then you need to call your phone company to have them take a look at why your Internet is slow. If it runs fine this way and then slows back down when you go back through your router there is something else going on. Try unplugging both the modem and the router, let the modem fully sign back in and connect to the Internet, after it gets signed in, plug your router in, and then after it boots up fully, try running the speedtest again...See if that helps any? Sometimes it's just an IP conflict that happens when the dynamic IP that is assigned by your Internet Service Provider changes and the change doesn't flow smoothly.

Click All Devices, then select the device that’s in Lost Mode.
Click Lost Mode, then change the information or click Stop Lost Mode.

If the phone is not unlocked, let's say for example it is locked to another carrier such as at&t, when you put in the Tmobile SIM in, the phone would complain about the SIM.
Does your phone do that? If yes, then the party that sold you the iPhone4S (if you purchased it from another person) may have not done the unlocking properly, and that may explain why Tmobile is insisting on the phone being locked.
If you purchased your iPhone4S new from Apple, did you pick Tmobile, or did you choose unlocked?
If you picked the Tmobile choice, then it should come up ready to use.
If you picked the unlocked choice, then you would need to visit Tmobile to purchase a nano-SIM and usually they should be more than willing to help you, since you're paying for their service.
But as you have indicated, this phone is under AppleCare, so if it doesn't work with a supposedly good Tmobile SIM, the quickest way to fix this is to get a replacement phone. When we troubleshoot we always try the least time consuming methods first.
You may have noticed it, that a good number of unfortunate uses of the iPhone4S have had their wifi become strangely disabled after upgrade to iOS7. Your situation is the reverse, your wifi is useable but not your cellular network.
In the mean time, you can apply for a Google Voice account (see http://www.google.com/voice), and obtain a free North American telephone number. You can then download one of many free Google Talk applications. Set it up, and you will be able to call and receive phone calls using your wifi. This would be just for the transition period before you get a useable phone.
Google voice provides average voice quality calls to and from US & Canada numbers for free for 1 hour per call. You can use this as a temporary work around while you are waiting for your replacement phone.

If I use my home WiFi to get on the internet, does that count against my data usage?
I'm all set to join Verizon for the first time, except for one thing. Unlike Sprint (terrible but improving speeds on their network), I see that my bill will be a bit higher with Verizon, which is not a problem since everyone I know (on Verizon) gets much faster speeds when they use their phone to get on the internet. So I decided to get the 4GB data package, except the customer service rep online at Verizon's website told me that even while using my phone through my WiFi setup at home, any time spent on the internet will count against my data usage. This seems outrageous, but she assured me it was the case. I've been told this is not the case by most people, but one person I talked to did back up her statement. Can anyone give me the truth on this? If I use my phone at home to get online, but first connect to my wireless connection, does that still count against my data usage? That would mean I'd go over the 4GB limit by like halfway through the month lol. Thanks everyone.
When you are on wifi the cellular data symbol should not be present on the information bar on the top of your phone. it should just show the wifi symbol.
Now a good thing to do is go into your phones settings and have it only update over wifi, the same for your apps. This way there are no surprises. Secondly turn "cellular data off" when at home to just use wifi. Ask yourself why would you pay verizon for data usage over your own wifi connection?
Verizon since they went to the limited data structure has been banging people with high overage fees and its a huge money maker for them, you will never get any truthful answer from their customer no-support. One from another won't even give you the same screen read answers. pity I must say. Just do the suggestions I made and you should be ok. Also turn off global roaming for data to only use verizons network. Personally T-Mobile has unlimited 4G LTE which has been clocked faster than all the carriers. But alas the service is not everywhere. You could have saved quite a bit of money with them. Good Luck

I ordered my new S5 online and after following the steps outlined in exact order, my old phone no longer works and the S5 will not authenticate. Now I have no phone and I am becoming frustrating.
It downloaded all my contacts, photo's with no problem. I called the number they gave me from my old phone and then turned it off. I then put the sim card in and charged the phone. I followed all the setup steps and no I cannot send any text or make any phone calls. When I click on a link in an email, it does not automatically open the site page?

I opened a file on my desktop that I don't remember putting there. We use many photos and I thought it was a photo file I was looking for. It turned out to be a keychain certificate from a client of ours. Does this mean that they were spying on me? What is the deal with that? Any ideas?
Interesting tid bit. I created an AAC of the original file, deleted the original MP3 from my library and also deleted the Clean matched track from the icloud.
Result is that it matched with the explicit version of Mrs. Officer this time.
What I am curious about is which songs this is happening for. I've went thru a few batched of about 500 songs at a time and redownloaded in 256k for many tracks. Sadly we don't have people to bring this to our attention and I have so much music that it's impossible to go thru every song to make sure I am getting the right version. -
