Goto function open another workbook

Hi Expert,
I have 2 workbook, first workbook is report total sales by salesman and the second report is comission by salesman.
can I open the second workbook that I am filtering by value of cell in first query exp. "salesman ID" ?
right now I try Goto function (maintain Sender/Receiver Assigment) to jump to another query but goto function always create new workbook.

the step what I done:
1. after I create 2 workbook and open all query.
2. create range name by select the sel and insert-name ("myrange") in second workbook
3. I opened Microsoft Visual basic editor in first workbook and I paste ur script.
4. I run the script,
then I get an error saying that (Method "Range" of object "_Worksheet" failed).
if this run ok, should I put the script in every user who use this report.

You can configure excel to open each document (e.g. workbook) in a own window, within options (display ->windows on taskbar).
You can also have 2 excel windows logged on to different BW systems (e.g. QA and PRD) bij opening not Bex but Excel for the second session and opening the BW Addin mannuelly via the Extra's -> addin menu...
How to open a specific workbook is beyond my current knowledge..

Call Workbook from another Workbook

Hello,
I want to call a Workbook from another Workbook just like calling a Query via Report-Report-Interface with restrictions from the selected line.
Does anybody know, if this works in Excel?

Hi Andreas,
San's response will open the workbook. If you want to also refresh the queries in the workbook, you have the option of setting workbook properties (see the Interaction tab in the BEx Workbook properties dialog) to refresh all queries when the workbook opens; or, use
Run "sapbex.xla!SAPBEXrefresh", True
But, you also mentioned restrictions (filters?) based on the line selected. You can do this using

I would suggest an entirely different approach, however. I would suggest that you actually do use RRI; and, if you want to have the RRI query open a particular workbook (instead of in a blank workbook), you set the local properties to "Use permanent template" ... and define the workbook you want the RRI query to embed in as the "permanent template". Then, after the RRI query refreshes and embeds, change the embed option back to whatever the user's default was before.
Here is example code to achieve this:

NOTE: the RRI jump query will embed on top of the LAST query embedded in the "target" workbook. So, if there is more than one query in the "target" workbook, be sure that the jump query is the LAST one embedded.

First step is set the SCREEN TYPE as "Modal Dialog Box" in screen property tab.
Then in PBO of the popup screen take a new GUI status and select DIALOG BOX as status type.
Then assign some function code in 'X' button say 'CANCEL'.
the put ur logic like below :

If I open another URL from my homepage, the "go back one page" button is grayed out so I can't get back to my home page.

This problem only started recently.
Opening another web page (URL) from my homepage always opens in the same tab and the "go back one page" button is gray and does not work. If I open a series of web pages in the same tab the green "back" button is green. Clicking on the "recent pages" down arrow will allow me to go back, but only to the page after the home page.
In other words, after browsing, I can get back to the opening page (my home page) only by clicking on the house icon but not by using the "recent pages" function.
Is there an option that changed after the last update?

Do you see any tab history if you right click the Back or Forward button?

Model diloge button click open another diloge and close of another diloge close all model diloges.

When user clickes on link he gets model diloge with some fields,

I used 1600Mhz Corsair Vengeance RAM. You can either get it in matched sets or in single modules.

Getting error while opening the workbook

Hi,
I am getting one error while opening the workbook.
Error: The Dependency "Join condition" is not found in EUL.
Basically, the workbook was working fine. But we droped some joins and recreated new joins. After this change, our worknbooks starts giving this error.
Please advice.
Where i can get the dependency information in EUL?

This has to be one of the most 'pain in the butt' errors you can get (well ... 0000 - normal successful completion is another).
Although I've seen this one for years, these days I'm finding many more examples that are happening to me with this (simply the environment I'm in) and in many cases, requires rebuilding the workbook again. For example, sometimes I put in the join that I think it's having a problem with, but the existing workbook simply won't run. Recreating the workbook exactly the same gets it to work properly. Maybe it's a 4.x thing (version I'm on these days) ... but just a warning that you may well have to rebuild.

Error when opening a workbook with mandatory variables

BEx analyzer displays an error message window in the same time as the variable popup window.
The worbook is linked to 1 query that uses 2 mandatory variables (month ?, year ?), and was defined in the test system.
I assume that values are thus saved within the workbbok.
The developper had 0bi_all autorisation.
When a reporting user is opening it (also in the test system), the error message is displayed.
This happens only the 1st time when Analyzer is started, and by clicking on the OK button, we are able to run the query.
The next workbook refresh runs without the error message display.
Question = does anybody know the reason of this, and how to avoid the error message ?

error message E019(R9E) appears for each variable (thus, 2 time with a query with 2 variables):
Help type 5 is not valid for the platform NONE
Exception 5 occured while calling IWB_HTML_HELP_URL_GET
the details of this error message is:

   You tried to start the online help with help type on platform. Help type is not supported on this platform.

i checked the query and authorisation with RSRV, but this didn't help, furthermore, a lot a functions are not implemented in the system, sorry.
i also changed the query and workbook, and i think that it depends on the workbook release 3.x or 7.
imagine following situations: same query 7.0, same workbook 7.0
with BI7
1) opening the query with variables doesn't display the error message
2) refreshing the workbook with the query with variables displays the error message (only for a non mandatory variable - as soon as there is a variable, the error message is displayed)
3) refreshing the workbook with the query without variables doesn't display the error message
with BW 3.x
4) refreshing a new workbook 3.x with the query with variables doesn't display the error message
i also investigate in the function modules for workbooks (RS...), but nothing helped.
i still think that it is linked to authorisations, because with sap_all, the message isn't displayed.
how can i continue ?

1. How can I give a name to a Sheet in excel file?
2. How can I save the first Sheet and open another one with a different name?

This is the equivalent in Apache POI which may or may not help. I've never used CSVWriter.

HSSFSheet sheet2 = workbook.createSheet("sheet2Name");Then you can use either sheet object to write your contents. Look at the documentation for CSVWriter that pertains to sheets as it should tell you how.

Open another JSP in same window

There is an easier way to do this
that doesnt limit you to a form submit
button. Remember that jsp is just a
way of getting a servlet to send dynamic
html back to a browser as a response.
So in that case, anything you include
on the .jsp page that's not surrounded by
the declaration, expression, directive or
scriplet tag will be will be included in the
response sent. This includes regular html
and also javascript. So why not use js!
The following code lets you open any type
of file (including .jsp) in any sort of window
that you want:

Links that don't open another window

Is there a way or a function that avoids opening another
window / tab when the user clicks on a Flash button that directs to

11g dashboard prompt - anyway to add an action to apply to open another tab

I have a requirement to show the prompt for a particular dashboard on one tab and the reports on another. Is there anyway to add an action to the apply button so it applies the filter and opens another tab?

Use the Action Link
ie Add Action link to your dashboard page which is placed with in the prompt and
goto Properties of Action Link -> Type your report name in Link Text -> New Action - Navigate to BI Content and browse the Report -> click OK.
Note: Don't forget to give the filter option - is prompted in your report.

Auto refresh when opening a workbook

Hi
When I open a workbook, I would like the query to auto refresh. In that way the planning user will see the latest planning values and not the ones saved in the workbook.
Is there any functionality for running the planning function refresh automatically when the workbook is opened?

Hi Erik,
Once you open the workbook, just right click on result area and select properties.
In that select the Interaction tab and then check Refresh query when opening workbook.
Then dont forget to save the work book.

Opening two workbooks from Menu gives error

When ever i try to open a workbook from the Menu while another workbook is opened already.
I get an Business Explorer error saying "<internal error> Calling in to BW server failed"
I click on OK and then open it second time opens the workbook.

Error -2146827284 When Attempting to Open Excel Workbook

Using LabView 6.0 and OfficeXP's Excel... I am receiving an activex
error: -2146827284 when I try to programatically open an excel
workbook. The thing is, this is after I have previously opened
and closed another workbook via activex. I searched about this
error on the forums, and while there were a few entries there were no
hard solutions posted. Please help.

Thanks for the help that fixed my problem for the initial error, but I
still get the same error when I am writing a U16 2-D array to a range
of cells. This is strange because the same code is used elsewhere and
does not throw the error, but the data type is instead a Dbl 2-D
array. Unfortunately, I am unable to post the code. It is
on a stand-alone classified pc.
